0844 number gets redirected to my online number

Hi,
I'm getting a few calls from people dialing a 0844 xxx xxxx number in the UK that come through to my online number.
I've never owned a 0844 number and BT wont help as it's not their number.
Any ideas?
Cheers

i have a online Skype number, i can send messege to mobile phone, but mi friends cannot text me from their mobile phones to mi online number , friend can call me on online number but cant text me on mi online number from their mobile number, why so..?
Because Skype's Online Numbers can't be used to receive SMS messages.  This is how they have always worked, and Skype hasn't advertised that the Online Numbers can be used to receive SMS messages.
If you want to provide a way for those receiving your SMS messages from Skype to reply to you, you would have to set up Caller ID to use a mobile number on the SMS messages you send from Skype.  The replies would go to your mobile phone, not to your Skype account.

  • Why am i charged 25 p for an 0844 number?

I called a 0844 number and it says it charges 5p a minute. I wasn't even able to finish my call because all my credit was gone. I checked on my account and I have 19 charges for 25 p each. It says text message to Intl Fixed Line to a 00637 number and the duration is 00.00.01, all at the same time. I did not text anyone. What's this about please?

You got off cheap. You should have been charged 49p/min.
The charge for Service Nos, such as 0844, is made up of 2 parts:
The Service Charge from the service you are calling; the 5p/min it announced when you called, plus
The Access Charge from EE, which is 44p/min.

  • Why do I always get redirected with customer support?

So today I went on the phone with Verizon just to figure out why my internet speed has been slow because I finally got the time too. I used to get around a 2.5 - 3 Mbps speed connection and now I only get a 1.5 Mbps or so connection. This originally happened after a Verizon tech agent came to our house and said that our speed was "too high and it shouldn't be that high" when my internet connection dropped. So he went over to the cable lines down the street and lowered my connection and then comes back and says its fixed. Now he didn't fix anything or do anything for that matter. I had to login MYSELF into my Verizon account on my modem which brought the internet up again. So basically, I paid for the Verizon agent to come and lower my speed and gained nothing from it. However, I still pay the same price as before for the 3 Mbps connection...
Now I went through the customer support on the phone to talk about this and they redirected me again and again and again probably at the very least 6 or more times. Everytime I got to a technical support, they would redirect me to a billing support and so forth. I told my problem over and over to no avail. All I want is my 2.5 - 3 Mbps speed again which I used to have... I STILL pay for the 3 Mbps connection when I only get around 1.5 Mbps now.
I feel like this is it... I can't handle this anymore, everytime I go to Verizon customer support I get redirected at least 5+ times for over 2-3 hours just to get one problem fixed. Half the time these morons don't even know what they're doing and just redirect me over and over again.
I'm thinking of simply changing to another ISP.

Before you change ISP I would demand a refund for the period of time your speed was subpar. It is true that for a number of different reasons your line may no be able to give reliable higher speeds. If you want to save some $$ look into the 3/1 FIOS plan, that is what I have. It is not an obvious choice on the VZ web site but the price is very fair IMO
Hopefully by posting here one of the verizon reps will "hook you up" no pun intended.

  • Only 'web-cache' gets redirected - no other service groups...

I have a Netcache configured for transparent caching for port 80 and 443. The Netcahce IP is 164.72.49.253. We have a 6509, sup720 IOS. 12.2(17a)SX3, configured to redirect web-cache and 1 to the Netcache. Here is the config:
    ip wccp web-cache
    ip wccp 1
The 6509 interface that controls the subnet the netcache is on is configured thus:
    interface Vlan1
    ip address 164.72.49.131 255.255.255.128
    ip wccp web-cache redirect out
    ip wccp 1 redirect out
We have a PC on another subnet connected to the 6509 that we are using to test the config, and we can only get port 80 to be redirected to the Netchace. HTTPS port 443 never gets redirected. Service group 1 is configed on the Netcache as tcp port 443.

What would cause the router to no redirect service-group 1 packets to the Netcache?

The sup720 does not support wccp yet.
The commands are available and some functionalities may work but currently the sup720 does not support wccp.

  • I suddenly started getting redirected when I click on my Firefox icon. Page says "Paypal and Firefox Simple promotion!" Paypal says it isn't theirs. I can't seem to get past this. I am afraid this a Trojan redirect or keystroke copier.

I'm not sure how or when it happened but whenever I click on any Firefox icon on my desktop, I get redirected to what appears to be a Mozilla Firefox page but there is a window on the screen that says "Paypal and Firefox Simple promotion!, Did you know that Mozilla Firefox is the most safe browser? Paypal trusts Firefox! Login to your paypal account using Firefox today and get 25$ promotion on your balance by next month!
    * This promotion valid only for VERIFIED account holders
    * You can register a new paypal account and get verified now.
    * Always proceed to Paypal by securely typing www.paypal.com in your browser.
then a button to click that says "contnue with xxx.xxxxxx.com"
this is where the button is for the url I was originally trying to get too.

  • I open a new tab and nothing works until I click anywhere, get redirected to a different tab, close that one, then I can follow links on tab I wanted to open.

When I open a new tab, for instance if I search on a topic and there are several sites that seem promising, I will open them in new tabs. I can scroll over the links or text on the new tab and the cursor doesn't react. The new tab has fully loaded but the cursor will not recognize text or links. Before anything will work first I have to left-click anywhere on the page. I get redirected to a new tab, invariably a trusted offer or survey. When I close that other tab, then the first tab acts normal. I scroll over it and the cursor recognizes the text and the links.

    Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

  • I updated my iMac, and my mail no longer works. It says all of my accounts are "offline". Safari is fine. How do I get my accounts back online?

I updated my iMac and now my Mail does not work. It says all of my accounts are"offline". Safari is fine. How do I get my accounts back online?

    Hello there, Lynn.
The following Knowledge Base article explains and offers up some troubleshooting recommendations for issues with email acounts showing offline on Mac Mail:
Mail (Mavericks): If a mailbox is offline
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14925
Lightning bolt icons next to mailboxes in the Mail sidebar identify accounts that are offline.
To take an account online, click the lightning bolt icon. Or choose Mailbox > Online Status > Take [account name] Online, or Mailbox > Take All Accounts Online.
If you can’t take an account online, make sure you’re connected to the Internet. If a warning icon appears after the account name, click it for more information.
    Use Connection Doctor
Some mailbox names can appear dimmed if you don’t have permission to access them, such as “public” mailboxes on a server, or if the mail server is unavailable.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • I have set up iCloud on my iPad as instructed. When I try to login to iCloud from safari on my iPad I get redirected to set up iCloud on this iPad. How do I solve this? iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1

I have set up iCloud on my iPad as instructed. When I try to login to iCloud from safari on my iPad I get redirected to set up iCloud on this iPad.
    How do I solve this?
    iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1

If you upload a document from your computer to your iCloud account, the document automatically appears in the app on the iPad - If the app works with iCloud.
You can't log into iCloud and transfer just any and all documents from your computer to the iPad. That's now how iCloud works. You have to upload all of the compatible files into iCloud before you get to the office and then the files will be accessible on your iPad.
There are really only a few apps that even work with iCloud in this manner right now, the Apple iWorks apps work with iCloud, so once again - at this point in time - given the way that iCloud works - there is no reason to log into your iCloud account on the iPad. You have to understand what iCloud does and how it works and I think then it makes sense as to why you don't need to log into iCloud on the iPad.

  • Everytime i search and select a site i get redirected while i can go directly to the site on Explorer, also some bookmarked sites will not open on Firefox, even though there were saved there but I can open them in Explorer. Help I like Firefox.

there are too many to list. when I google a site and click on it, most times I get redirected. is this a maleware issue? it seems to work fine with Explorer. for example I can open adam4adam.com in Explorer but not with Firefox.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I get redirects always in current open page. If I click a link and say open in new tab or new window it does not redirect. I've noticed explorer is now advertising built in software to eliminate someone hijacking their browser. If I have to keep searching for tools to clean registry's and browser issues -- I may have to switch back to Explorer or Chrome. Lately my Firefox which I'm most used to is driving me nuts... Hi, I have problems in ordering book from iPhoto. It says "problems in getting contact with Apple Online Store" I have changed password on my Apple ID - could that be the problem ??

Some additional efforts you can try:
Go to the System/Sharing preference pane and make sure Remote Apple Events is checked.
If it is, uncheck it and then recheck and try ordering again.
