0Account Hierarchy

In ECC6 ->KDH3, I can see and display the Account Group USA1-PL.
However, when I try to load this Hierarchy via Datasource 0ACCOUNT_0109_HIER in RSA3, I hits the following error:
Errors occurred during the extraction
Message no. RJ012
It seems like the Hierarchy doesn't exsits in RSA3.

Hi Lynn,
RSA3 does'nt really work for hierarchy test in my opinion. The best way to test hierarchy loads is this.
1) Go to RSA6.
2) Find you extractor and select your extractor.
3) There is a Datasource extractor test button next to the object directory entry button. Click on the test.
4) It will show you a list of all hierarchy under the heading hierarchy catalog. Select any one of the hierarchies and click on either display tree or display list

Some accounts in 0ACCOUNT hierarchy MD not loading from ECC

Hi,
I am trying to load 0ACCOUNT hierarchy master data from ECC to BW, using standard data sources. The process is in place in Production and was running fine until couple of days back. All of a sudden, the daily master data load doesn't bring in new accounts added to hierarchy in ECC.
The user responsible for adding and updating new accounts to hierarchy has checked on the ECC, and I have seen the ECC screen. The new accounts are correctly placed in correct hierarchy on ECC side.
I have checked and tried couple of things. The Attr and Text are coming through fine, only hierarchy is not getting updated on BW side. I tried to replicate Metadata for the data source on BW side, I have manually run the DTPs, but still no success.
I will really appreciate your help on this.

Thanks for your prompt replies. To answer to all the above replies:
1) I am not getting any errors while loading the account hierarchy. The process state is Green. It is just skipping the new accounts. There are no new patches installed in BI, check with Basis team
2) I had checked the ACR, 0ACCOUNT is already included in the process.
3) At ECC side, the team always added the accounts/accounts ranges manually to the hierarchy and it worked well in the past. The hierarchy data source we are using always is either in Modified/Content mode and I assume we cannot activate the hierarchy data sources that is provided by SAP.
3.1) Yes, we have maintained the hierarchy structure at Infoobject level. The attributes and texts are coming through fine and those accounts are already in SAP BI attribute/text, but they are not brought over in hierarchy.
3.2) I am not authorized to access RSHIER/RSH1 T-code.

0ACCOUNT Hierarchy issue

Hi Guys,
This is related to 0ACCOUNT Hierarchy. I am running P&L PCA report using this hierarchy. A new account group is added in R/3 system. But the same is not appearing in BW system. I checked in the Infopackage (BWP Systems) with the refresh button " available hierarchies from OLTP system" but this hierarchy is not appearing in the infopackage.
It is also not appearing in the other hierarchies too where it is being used.
Can someone tell me what should I do?

if you are able to see the group in KDH3 then disregard my suggestion...sometimes what happens is it might be defined as a set but not as a group...tcode gs03 for sets...i thought that might be the reason why it wasnt showing up in the infopackage...
the new group which was added...is this the top node ?? or is this added as a child node ?...i think in the infopackage you will only see the top nodes....
this particular new hierarchy which was added might be part of a existing parent hierarchy...

Records missing while extracting 0account hierarchy

Bi experts,
Two records have been added by the business to a node in the 0account hierarchy , which can be seen in transaction /nKAH3.
While extracting the MAE 0account hierarchy using a full InfoPackage no errors occur, but when checking the hierarchy in BW both records are missing. The activate checkbox has been selected in the InfoPackage.
Has anyone experienced something simular in the past?

Hi,
If once you loaded the Hierarchy, then do the Change run for it.
If the loading was done manually then go to
RSA1 --> Tools --> Apply Hierarchy/Attribute Change Run -- > Click on Hierarchy List Puch Button
Then select the your hierarchy loading and click on save and then click on Execute Hierarchy/Attribute Change Run.

Loading 0account hierarchy fails

Hello Gurus,
We recently upgraded to 7.0. We are having an issue while loading 0account hierarchy in Q and P systems using a flat file and we are able to load the same file in D system.
This is the error meassge in Q and P:
'Invalid entry, hierarchy 4AF5AVCDUA0077116VFCD does not exist'
Note: Before the upgrade we were able to load the same file 0account hierarchy in all systems.
My trouble shooting findings are:
In D:
TABLE /BI0/HACCOUNT has field NODENAME and its data element is RSNODENAME CHAR 32
In Q and P:
TABLE /BI0/HACCOUNT has field NODENAME and its data element is RSSHNODENAME CHAR 60
Is this causing the issue or anything else ?

We faced similar troubles, and we resolve it before update the SP. We are now on 7.0 and the level of sp is 16.
Could you check that first ?
If the level is the same then surelly there are any note for that and i could help you to find out.

Hierarchy authorization: profit center, 0account for 0PCA_C01 data.

Hello my SAP Net friends,
I have built the authorizations/roles using profit center hierarchy for PCA data based the paper in BWExpert(Avoid these common pitfalls in using reporting authorizations with and without hierachies), it works fine.
Both 0profit_ctr and 0account are in the 0PCA_C01 cube, they both have hierarchies.
Now users also want to use the 0account hierarchy to limit PCA data access beside using the profit center. Have any of you had experience to use both profit center and 0account hierarchies for authorization? Could it works? Any limitation or issues?
I have created authorization object using the profit center, if I create another authorization object using 0account. Could these two authorization objects works together?
I will assign points to any helpful responses.

Hello Jun,
0profit_ctr and 0account are two different characteristics, so authorization to those two are independent of each other.
I.e., you can set authorization two both characteristics by means of both hierarchies.

How to add two nodes in a Hierarchy

Hi Experts,
                I have 0ACCOUNT hierarchy using for P&L report. I developed this hierarchy to get the values of Revenue and Expenses (nodes). Once I get this values I want the difference of this two to get the Income Statement. I have Revenue and Expense in 3 rd level and Income statement node is in 2nd level.
               My report looks like as follows
               Month 1        Month 2    Variance    Variance %
Revenue      1000            1200           XXX           XXX %
Expense       800              950           XXX           XXX%
Inc Stmt       200            250             XXX           XXXX    ( How can do this calculation)
               Please some tell me how to calculate the difference of Revenue and Expense using hierarchy nodes.

Hi,
         My problem is fixed, they are calcualted if you have a child nodes. How means Revenue is positive and Expenses are negative. So we get difference of this two.

Hierarchy extract from R3 to BI not successful

We are in the process of extracting 0ACCOUNT hierarchy from R3. Any of the hierarchies cannot be pulled.
BI receives 4 info Idocs with one indicating of no of data records to be pulled.
But, never getting a data package.
RSA3 shows records. It has only 1586 records.
Other extractions except for hierarchies are working fine.

Hi Gary,
The data flow is correctly enabled. The data packeges doesnot arrive BI at all. ( Not coming to PSA ).
Could not track using BD87 command. Data package is not getting generated in R3. But info idoc says of data availability.
Checked job log of R3. It doesn't indicate of generating data packages. Couldn't find any error message as well.
Following is the message from extraction node of BI monitor.
"Data packet 000001 had 15876 records selected for it"
But, with this messsage, the node is red, which has been timeout. Kept running for the whole day.
It should have come within seconds.

How to find tech nodename based on node description (text) from hierarchy

Hi Friends,
There is a 0ACCOUNT hierarchy. If you open the hierarchy thru info objects maitenance screen using "Maintain Hierarchies", it is displayed in hierarchical arrangement.
Here we give text description to 0HIER_NODE object to denote the title of group/category; a technical name is also assigned in NODENAME column in /BI0/HACCOUNT table for each 0HIER_NODE description. And child node contains actual values of 0ACCOUNT.
My question is, I want to find out the technical name (NODENAME) from the title text description (0HIER_NODE) of group/category. where is the relation between text descripion (0HIER_NODE) and technical name (NODENAME) is stored?
Any help will be appriciated.

Go to se11 check the contents of the table RSTHIERNODE with the parameters LANGU (your language) HIEID = A and NODENAME the technical node name of a hierarchy.

A hierachy with several characteristics in Integrated Planning

Hi gurus!
Have you been able to implement an input-ready query with a hierarchy for several characteristics in row area?
I have two characteristics, 0SEM_POSIT and 0ACCOUNT and the requirement is that plan figures should be posted to 0SEM_POSIT but history data should be read from different 0ACCOUNT values for different companies even if they use the same template to plan their values. I have added 0SEM_POSIT as an external hierarchy characteristic to 0ACCOUNT info-object and created a hierarchy for 0ACCOUNT in which hierarchy nodes are defined as 0SEM_POSIT values.
However, if I use an aggregation level in my query, which has characteristic 0SEM_POSIT, hierarchy nodes are not input-ready (unless I use disaggregation, which is not possible if I want to post to 0SEM_POSIT).
Am I missing something or is it simply impossible to configure such a multidimensional query with a hierarchy? I didn't find any solution for this in SAP documentation.

I tested 0ACCOUNT hierarchy with different kind of aggregation levels and 0SEM_POSIT as external hierarchy nodes and noticed that it was not possible to make nodes postable in a way that the values would have posted to 0SEM_POSIT. Finally i found also sap documentation telling me the same, so I decided to change my course with this:)
I have used disaggregation in many layouts, but it didn't fit here, because of several reasons. The main reason is, that several 'companies' (they all have their own comp_code in sap) use this layout. They all have different characteristic relationships between 0ACCOUNT and 0SEM_POSIT even if they use same 0ACCOUNT values. If I had used 0ACCOUNT hierarchy in my layout (different hierarchy for different 0COMP_CODE), I could have defined different accounts for each company to a hierarchy node in their own 0ACCOUNT hierarchy. The users should not have been able to see 0ACCOUNT-level though, which would have meant that the analysis item could not have been activated for navigation (only hierachy nodes would have been visible and 0ACCOUNT level would have been hided). Even if there would have been disaggregation, the users would not have known about it. The problem is, that disaggregation takes time and I think the users would not have been pleased to wait for refresh especially when they would not have known a disaggregation takes place.
Another problem would have been, that there is only one way to define the disaggregation in a query column. My requirement is that user is able to choose between two different ways to disaggregate planned values to lower organisation level (according to last year budget or actual data). That means that I have to have two planning functions in my layout for the user to choose for.
I desided to create characteristic relationship based on user exit. I will use 0SEM_POSIT as row characteristic in higher organisational levels to plan for. To derive the right 0SEM_POSIT to each 0ACCOUNT value in profit center level, characteristic relationship source characteristics are profit_ctr (which I can use for determining what the company is) and 0ACCOUNT and target characteristic is 0SEM_POSIT. I created a DSO to load different 0SEM_POSIT values for each account for different companies. I read the values from dso table when deriving 0SEM_POSIT.

Sharing a hierarchy from 0ACCOUNT with 0GL_ACCOUNT

Is it possible to share a hierarchy that pertains to 0ACCOUNT with another info-object (eg, 0GL_ACCOUNT) ?
How can this be accomplished, without resorting to a flat file download / upload ?

We had a similar requirement (to include a 0GL_ACCOUNT hierarchy in a profit centre report) so I'm posting our solution for the benefit of anyone searching the topic in the future.
My (probably imperfect) understanding is that 0ACCOUNT includes the full list of accounts within a chart of accounts within a controlling area. 0GL_ACCOUNT includes the subset that has been maintained in the hierarchies of financial statements (of which there may be a number of named versions). These hierarchies include the groupings of Assets and Liabilities, and Revenue and Expense items needed to generate balance sheets or income (profit and loss) statements.
So for many reporting purposes the two can be regarded as synonymous and interchangable. To include a 0GL_ACCOUNT hierarchy in a report that contains 0ACCOUNT:
add 0GL_ACCOUNT as a navigation attribute of 0ACCOUNT
assign 0ACCOUNT to 0GL_ACCOUNT in the master data update process
make the navigation attribute (0GL_ACCOUNT) available in your cube and query
Be aware that this may result in accounts that are not GL accounts being added to the GL master data, but when reporting against transactional data this should not matter -- only those used in a given context will be referenced.
Naturally you could add 0ACCOUNT to 0GL_ACCOUNT in the same way.

Urgent: hierarchy in report

Hi,
How can I exclude a account number with hierarchy active for it.
I have a report in which col1 is account hierarchy and col2 is amount. In the report I want to exclude one account form the report. I right click on account number, select the option select filter value.. , select that particular account. For the account being selected in the selection box the option exclude from selection is grayed out and so I cant select it. If I make hierarchy inactive in the report and then try it I can do exclude from selection. But now with this filter condition on if I make hierarchy active then it gives me following message:
                                                                                Invalid filter on 0ACCOUNT: Filter changed
Message no. BRAIN502
Diagnosis
You tried to filter according to an invalid value.
This could be because you filtered according to a hierarchy node which
    is not visible to the current user.
System response
The filter is not evaluated for the characteristic, but removed instead.
    If no other filter values exist for this characteristic, the system
    responds to the whole request with the message "no applicable data
    found".

Try placing account number in global filter and do the same (select the account and choose exclude).

Creation of Variable for Hierarchy Node

 I am using Characteristic "0PROFIT_CTR" : PROFIT CENTER
 Here, I created used SAP Standard variable 0N_PCTR (Profit Center/Profit Center Hierarchy)
 This meets my requirement of allowing User to Input the TOP MOST Hierarchy Node basically means my Hierarchy.
 Now, what I need is the ability of a User Input/Key In Variable to ask for a specific Node of my Hierarchy instead of just the 'main' hierarchy
Let me demonstrate with an example :-
At the moment, I have a variable defined for "0PROFIT_CTR". So, I am able to choose "XXX GROUP" as my hierarchy.
Now, under this "XXX Group" I have several Sub-Nodes like XXX-Functional Groups ; XXX-Business Units; XXX-Subsidaries.
How can I create a variable which prompts for this Subnodes of my hierarchy ?

Hierarchy derive

Hi all,
I have a problem with hierarchy derivation . I can't use standard derivation (type H) because I should use two different hierarchies (on 0ACCOUNT) in the 'Characteristic Rels' folder of the Planning Area. Since I'm allowed to use only one infocube (with two infocubes problem doesn't exist) I'm trying to use Exit type but I don't know how it works.
Has anyone suggestions or standard functions to use as reference?

I do see entries in /n/sapapo/relhshow. I don't see how the production hierarchy (Seen in /sapspo/mat1 under the properties tab) relates to it.
There is no F1 on that field in /sapapo/mat1 unfortunatly, so it acts like a free-form text field, as far as I can see. I changed it to a random value and it allowed me to save it, so it looks like there's no validation on the field?

Calculate Total for All Values in a Hierarchy Selection

In Fox, I want to calculate the total for multiple cost elements that are selected in a package with a hierarchy restriction. The total of the hierarchy will then be saved into another cost element.
Does anyone have a Fox logic that they would suggest?

Found a solution that works....
Basically I want to call all the hierarchy values in as reference data, and restict the package to only the account that I am creating.
