0BBP_BIGURE - MESSAGE_TYPE_X in attrib change

Hi,
When I load the 0BBP_BIGURE hierarchy from SRM 5.0 to BI 7.0 in process chain I always get a MESSAGE_TYPE_X dump in the Attrib Change. If I activate the hierarchy, I don't get an error.
I think the reason is that the RSDDCHNGPROT is not filled, but I'm not sure about this. Did anyone else have this problem ?

Attrib Change Run

Hi All,
I have a Master Data object with both Attributes n Hierarchies. I am trying to build a process chain to load this MD Object.
Now I pulled the InfoPackage that is loading Attributes into the chain.
Do I need to run the Attrib. Change Run for this InfoObject before I schedule the InfoPackage for Hierarchies for the same InfoObject?
Or can I just run the Attrib. Change Run after loading both Attributes n Hierarchies?

the guys are right. to pull the steps a little more apart lets put it this way once again:
from my experience the change run should not even affect the hierarchy upload as this goes to a different table. but this would be the 'cowboy' way.
you are doing best practice if you have the change run scheduled immediately after the attribute upload and then the hierarchies. this is the 'gentleman' way.

ERROR while running attribute change run.

hi sap xperts,
I got an error while running the attribute change run in a process chain.
At first i got an error "The action is locked by a change run"
SO I DID THE FOLLOWING STEPS.
1.RUN ATTRIB CHANGE RUN MANUALLY IT RUN SUCCESSFULLY,but the process chain is still red.
Q1.Is there any way to link the manually run attrib chnage to process chain so that the process chain becomes Green?
2.SM12 - realease the locks and right click the pc and repeat.It didn't work
Q1.While removing the locks what should we remove,bcoz i removed all the locks?
3.I again removed the lock and repeat the process but still i didn't work.Now its chowing "SQL ERROR OCCURED WHILE ACCESSING"
So the Process chain got stuck,Can any body help me to run the attrib chnage run.

At any point in time only one attribute change run can run in the system. The other ACR's will fail due to locks. In your case, to set the process chain to green, try the following steps.
Open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like described as follows:
1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
Now press F8 to run the fm.
The above steps will help you continue with the rest of the process chain (thus avoiding manual runs) but the failed step might still remain red. Hope this helps.

Process chain best practice - attribute change runs

When building attribute change runs into Process Chains I see that there are potentially two main options to consider:
1. One to One mapping. Incorporate a separate attribute change run object type after each InfoObject has been loaded.
2. Many to One mapping. Build the process chain so that one single attribute change run occurs after all the InfoObjects have been loaded.
I would be interested to see how other people have incorporated their attribute loading into Process Chains.

We run the attribute change run twice in our daily process chain, here's our order:
- Load all master data
- Attrib change run
- Load all tx data
- Run ABAP programs that generate master data
- Attrib change run
I doubt there will be much of a performance difference if you do the change run after each master data load, but it makes the process chain a lot easier to read.

Nav attrib in master data

Hello,
i can't see any values for sales dist which is nav attrib of 0sold_to. All my r/3 transactions capture cutomer values in 0sold_to object.
0sold_to is created with reference 0customer.
0customer also has sales dist as nav attrib.
My reports and cubes don't show any values for sales dist. i want sales dist to be picked up from customer master data and displyed in reports.
i have loaded 0customer master data and it(master data for 0customer) shows values for sales dist.
i have not loaded 0sold_to seperately(as it is reference to 0customer).
Please suggest....

Database error changing table ADR2 - Inbound IDOC Create Order

Hi experts,
I have a backgroud job for program RBDAPP01 to process inbound IDOC message type OILLDD. It woked perfectly for years. Few days ago, the job got short dump and cancelled. In Error log, it shows error MESSAGE_TYPE_X Database error changing table ADR2 in function module ADDR_SAVE_INTERN.
I already try to activate trace log to see sql statement but still couldn't find anything suspicious. Have anyone been through this problem before? Please suggest.

Error in PC while transporting from Qual to Prod

Hi All,
i am getting the error while tarnsporting the PC from qual to prod.I have introduce only AND event in PC and change one Attrib Change step.
In TR i have collected PC,Event,Attrib Change step.
But while transporting it result in error at one DTP step.I have checked the corresponding DTP is present there in Prod but with diffrent technical name.
As far as i know it should have replace the corresponding DTP present in prod..
Is this the error from BI side or connection error between system from basis.
Or is this something related to system being out of sync with eachother.

When you migrate DTPs from Dev to Prod , a new DTP ID are generated in Prod system and your DTP in the Process chain points to Dev's DTP and that is why you get this error
What i can think of is this scenario:
1. Original chain created and transported to Production. There due to some requirement the DTP would have changed(some body deletd the original one and created new one). Now the existing chain in production have the new DTP created there.
2. When u tried transporting the original chain from Dev it had the DTP created initially.
3. Since the DTP existing in Prod is having a different technical name than the one initially created in Dev so due to this this mismatch it might not get activated.
4. So better to create the DTP there itself and add it to the chain.

Impact on transactional Loads if Master data is not loaded

Scenario for your reference:
The loads to ZPO_LINE from PC3 was failing for past 20 days from The fix was applied on April 21.
I need help to decide the effects of not loading ZPO_LINE for past 20 days. And create a detailed plan for data loads required.
If the master data is not loaded for 20 days will it affect the transaction loads happened during those days?
And how can i find out the impact and correct the transaction data if it does?
Can any 1 help me with this?

Hi,
If i understand your scenario, you have a scenario where the Master data load has not been updated for the last 20days but, the transaction data was loaded without any interruption.
In such a scenario, the Transactional loads will only be affected if there is some field which undergoes transformation after looking up on the master data.
So, first load the master data and run the attrib change run process.
After this, if the transaction data is in full update mode, then you dont need to do anything as data will be refreshed with correct values in the next load.
If delta loads are there, you might need to performa full repair.

SQL error in PC

Hi All
I am getting the error at Attrib.Change step in Process Chain step.
Error says like SQL Error 1652,Error When filing the aggregate 100178.
Can you please tell me why i am getting this error?
Is this error from BI side or from BASIS side?
Can we do anything from BI side to avaoid this error in future ?

SQL error 1652 and 12801
1.I think this is a problem for Basis .
2.It is temp table space PSAPTEMP problem, ask basis team to increase temp table size and then try again .Ideally it should be around 5 - 3 % size of database.you can increase existing data file size for that .This is table use to buffer temporary data .
3.After that Aggregate filling job should run fine .
4.Also Check note 164925 and 416772

Process Chain Message for Run completion

Dear experts,
In our system the Process chains and as they complete processes, there are some messages, such as completion of run for master data or hierarchies...
Then when I run the PC, if I don't click to confirm the messages, the PC sometimes times out...
I would like to NOT display thoses messages.
How can I change the settings for that???

if i right-click on them both I see:
"Display Variant...
Exchange variant...
Display all jobs
Create message...
Debug Loop...
Remove process"
I don't see "maintain message."
I think you mean that I should I click "create message..." and change successful to error.

Objects Locked by Failed Process Chain

HI,
I cannot update certain infopackages as they are locked by a failed Process Chain update, however I have checked sm12 and there are no locked items showing, also I have gone into RSA1 --> tools Attrib Change Run and into the InfoObject List and ther are no objects so i cant run the Atrrib change run from their either.
So if there is no locked items in Sm12 well then how do i unlock them?
Do i need to mark the failed Process chain as complete or something?

Process chains for deltas

hello I have one scenario...Can anyone explain how we can implement it?
I want to load data from R3 into Master Data Attribute in BW/BI..and it should include future delta loading also.....
and I want to use Process Chains for this....how can we do it.?(I have knowledge of loading data from R3 To MD Attribute using Process Chain but without deltas)

If we take the second implementation of PC in your abbove post.....as we included fullload in PC....before delta init.....can it be possible that fullload happens all the time as its in process chain?
yes..........since it is a part of the process chain every time when you will execute the chain.........full upload will also done..............you can do one thing you can copy the chain.......and remove that process......I mean open the chain in Planning view.....in the top where we write tcode......there write Copy...
then the chain will be copied.........remove the start process and the full upload and init upload.........then create a new start process.........look you have to create a new start process.......because you cannot use the same start variant twice..........
whats the use of attrib change run in PCs in general?
Attribute change run is used to activate the master data.......ie to convert the master data from M version to A version..........because upon activation of master data SID will generate...........which is needed to link the master data to transaction data ie dimension table.........in extended star shcema............Also Once active, the data is available in your reports........
Attribute change run also adjust aggregates........
Another thing......This process is just required for Attributes and Hierarchies, not for Text data.

ABAP MESSAGE_TYPE_X -DUmp Due to Change in hiring process for HK ?

I changed the Hiring process , just added new infotype 0105 into the process for HK , after that i got an ABAP "MESSAGE_TYPE_X" dump when i tried to save PA30 .
See the below Error :

following are a few of the possible causes for this:
o   The code in table PA0342 is not correctly specified in the data
    dictionary (SE11). Compare with another PAnnnn table.
o   An infotype may have an additional view infotype for which the
    record is not available. This situation can occur when system
    settings for infotype views (T582V) are changed.
o   Problems with database.
o   There may be other causes.

Try running the report rpu03420 for that pernr. Anyway 0342 is an infotype specific to HongKong.

New to Apex ( old experience in Forms ). I'm using Apex 4.1 and I've a Master-Detail page created with the wizard. I wanna be able to accept inserts ( new registers ) in the detail region but no updates. I can accomplish this in the master region with the "Read only condition type" section for an item, but this section doesn't exists for the Detail region items. Can i change the column attribute ( Display As ) from a reports in runtime ? My idea is : In the detail region, if it's a new register, show the item like a LOV ( it's how I've defined it in the Application Builder ) but if data exists for this register, show the item like a "Display as text" ( not editable ). If this is not possible, can you point me into the right direction to accomplish this need?

Yes,
What you should do is twofold:
1. make items readonly in your form when a record is "not new" (ie the rpimary key is set)
2. prevent the page from executing an update (you never know who/what is spoofing your pages)
the second can be done by creating a process "ON UPDATE" that triggers an error.

[BUG] PageDef editor changes iterator DataControl attrib with invalid value

This happens with nested application modules only. Whenever we are declaring iterators based on a nested AM ViewObject and place the cursor on or edit the <iterator /> definition in the page definition, JDeveloper replaces the "DataControl" attribute with value "Root".
For example, the working <iterator /> definition is :
    <iterator Binds="Root.ConfigurerSiteCoursService1.SiteCoursView1"
              DataControl="SiteCoursServiceDataControl"
              RangeSize="25"
              id="SiteCoursView1Iterator"/>and JDeveloper changes this for :
    <iterator Binds="Root.ConfigurerSiteCoursService1.SiteCoursView1"
              DataControl="Root"
              RangeSize="25"
              id="SiteCoursView1Iterator"/>This is really annoying and the only work around is to edit the file in an external text editor.
