0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 (Activities) Duration

Hi,
my '0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 (Activities)' datasource in CRM 7.0 does not calculate both 'DURATION (Duration)' and 'FTF_DURATION (Duration: Mins)'. These fields are always equal to zero for my specific custom Service Tickets (ZHDC).
For another custom transaction type, the durations are calculated.
How can I retrieve the duration values for my Service Tickets?

Hi,
Its not easy to suggest about calculations.
Better to debug your data source and find the logic for standard transaction type how its filling duration.
thru that you may get idea.Accordingly you can take action on it.

Group/Sort Summary Totals for Duration % Complete not working

Hello, I'm new to this forum and have used p3 off and on years ago and had some exposure to p5, my background is more toward Project Controls - Cost management rather than scheduling. Here is my issue/question: I was told by the PM not to baseline the schedule (I know, I should have but I didn't, I did as I was specifically requested), that is a topic for another day, however. I am trying to understand the process of the % completes on my resource loaded schedule which all activities are set to duration percent complete. The schedule has roughly quarter of the activities which have been actualized, but my issue is with the "Summary Totals" of the duration % complete when I select that option in the Group/Sorting. All of the activities in a group for example will show 0% complete but the Summary Total of those activities will show greater than 0% or some of the activities duration % completes show a value greater than 0% but the Summary Total of those activities show 0%. What is causing this and why are they not consistent? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm currently showing the duration % complete with a renamed label. The total is not rolling up to the summary. I've also discovered that the unit % complete is not calculating correctly too I believe. For example: I have 3708 budgeted hours and have expended 656 hours and the Unit % Complete is showing 19.08% when I would have thought that the % would have been calculated based on Actual Units (656) / Budgeted Units (3708) totaling 17.69% not 19.08% which it is showing. I cannot find in the reference manual how the percent completes are calculated for units nor in the help section of the software itself either. An explenation would be greatly appreciated!

Business Content Questions - Urgent

Can you please help me with the following questions...
1. I installed business content for CRM Sales Activities. I was also successful in loading transaction data. There is some master data that also needs to be loaded, but many of the master data datasources are not available when I checked RSA5 in the CRM system. How should I approach this problem?
   2. When installing business content, if "match (X) or copy" is selected and if we select background installation, will the system overwrite the objects or will it leave it in the existing version?
   3. When activating business content reports, I get the error "BEx transport request xx is not suitable or not available". What could this mean?
   4. After development, do I simply gather all the objects and transport them to QA/PRD or do I have to activate business content in QA/PRD systems also?

BOQ and Resource productivity rate

hi there everyone i am so honored to share information with you guys...
i have project with the following given information::
project BOQs
Resources productivity.
my approach at least "theoretically" with this project was as following:
getting the "Project Cost" from BOQ
and getting "Activities Duration" based on productivity of the resources assigned .
so i rolled up my sleeves ..and opened up Primavera p6 and did the following:
Duration type =fixed units.. to go with the fixed BOQ that i have "although i feel like even fixed units/time works as well" ..but whatever ...
i defined the BOQ as material resources.
and i defined resources (labor &non labor) units/time as per productivity requirements not calendar requirements which is 8h/d
for example:
for my steel fixer team i assigned thier units/time=225h/d
as if 225kg/d
Now my questions:
is this a good practice.
how does that affect my resource usage profile in terms of overallocation units.

But why aren't you loading Labor and Material Resources separately into the same Task? And if you want to show productivity rates, you can use a custom curve to show the gradual increase in output. The labor still has to work the same hours/day, so that can be a straight curve.

Scheduling as per given project finish date

I need to know if it is possible to arrange the project structure to do below described scheduling.

I would like to give the "project finish date " ;
I would like p6v7 would schedule such that ;
- project finish date would be the date that I gave,
- all activity dates would be defined accordingly even if they should have been start and/or finish before project start date.
I should say that there is not any resource / cost assignment. Just activities/ original durations/ and relationships have been entered.

By you saying "project finish date" I have to assume that you have some sort of mandatory completion date such as a contract deadline.
Or do you mean that you want to add a date constraint to the project finish date such as "must finish on or before" your date of completion?
If needed, you could even apply a "mandatory finish" date constraint (not highly recommended).
On the other hand, by building your initial schedule you will be able to determine your planned finish date by tracing your longest path. If this completion date does not meet your needs you then would need to adjust your scheduled activities (durations) to fit within your planned finish date.
After settling on your initial schedule, save it as a baseline (copy) in order to perform periodic comparisons between your original (baseline) and the current (real time) schedules. The result of performing these comparisons will produce your schedule variance data.

Retrieving data from two CRM data sources having same field name.

Hello Experts,
I am extracting data from 0CRM_OPPT_H(Opportunties) and 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 (Activities), in both data sources we have a comman field "DESCRIPTION_UC".which is the field for both Opportunity Description and Activity Description.
In BW "0CRM_DESCR" is the same object which is mapped to both opportunity and Activity descriptions field"DESCRIPTION_UC".
Data is retriving fine in both Infoproviders.
Our Requirement is to populate both above said Activity and Opportunity descriptions in the report, to achive this we need to create a multiprovider and populate the data.Plz help me how to assaign the objects in the multiprovider.

In Characteristics tab.
u find the identification tab.
Go there and click on both infoproviders corresponding to both info providers.....
One needs to clearly understand that there are different approaches in identification of KFs and Chars in a MP.
KFs, if they are identical by meaning, must be selected from EXACTLY ONE INFOPROVIDER.
CHARs must be selected in EACH INFOPROVIDER involved.
For example, I have a Char COUNTRY in my MP. And in the infoproviders I have Chars such as SENDING COUNTRY, DESTINATION COUNTRY, TRADING COUNTRY, COUNTRY OF GOODS ORIGIN, COUNTRY OF TRANSPORT. I need to identify which country in infoprovider will be treated as a COUNTRY in the MP. And such identification should be set for each Char in MP for each infoprovider.
If there is no data for COUNTRY in one of the providers (or COUNTRY is not properly identified in MP) then data from this infoprovider will come into MP query as NOT ASSIGNED or not come at all.
You can search these forums for something like no data in multiprovider. Youll find a lot of threads concerning this problem. In most cases the reason of this exactly what was said wrong identification of chars in MP or absence of char values in some infoproviders.

Problem with 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 to extract activities

Dear all,
I try to use data source 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 to extract activities but I found the extraction function CRM_SALES_ACT_1_MAP exclude TASKS (BUS2000125). I searched in SAP support portal and SCN and I found the note 1907486 and 669436. I applied both. I reactivated the data source and the function but I am still not able to extract any TASKS from the activities when I run RSA3 using data source 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1. I wonder does anyone had the same issue even after you applied both notes.
Currently I am running CRM 7.0 EHP3

1907486 - Tasks and Interaction Records are not extracted via DataSource 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 after EHP2.
That should do the trick.

CRM to BW extract - All Duration amounts are zero using 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1

We are implementing the "CRM 4.0 Interaction Center with Winclient" and are using BW 3.1 for reporting. The problem we are encountering is we are getting "DURATION" and "Face to Face Duration" amounts that are ZERO when extracting call center activity data using the data source 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1. This data source feeds into the ODS 0SAL_DS01. We are expecting the "Duration" amounts to be non-zero and represent the time the call center agent worked on a particular activity. The data we are testing with has been entered manually and we are not yet connected using telephony server (so we cannot use the CTI data yet).
Any help regarding how I might solve this problem would greatly be appreciated. Possibly this is a CRM configuration issue but don't know.

Hi Silvio,
I've experienced a similar problem with this extractor. I attempted to Initialize Delta with Data Transfer to no avail. The job ran for 12+ hours and stayed in "yellow" status (0 records extracted). The following steps worked for me:
1. Initialize Delta without Data Transfer
2. Run Delta Update
3. Run Full Update and Indicate Request as Repair Request
Worked like a champ, data load finished in less than 2 minutes.

remaining duration is showing 0 for incompleted duration percent activities.The acitivities having 90 to 95 percent are showing remaining duration 0.

Remaining Duration is showing 0 because you are using 0 Decimals for the "Time Units". If the original duration for the activity is 3 days for example and it is 95% complete, this means the remaining duration for this activity is now 0.15 day. P6 is rounding it up to 0 day. To display the 0.15 day do the following:
Edit - User Preferences - Time Units Tab - select the (2) decimal for both units, hour and day - go to Dates Tab - select "24 hour" time Format - Close. Then you will notice that the remaining duration is not zero and the time for the finish date is not 17:00 PM as it should be.
Therefore, in my opinion the best practice is to change the remaining duration to 1 day and not to use 95% complete in this case.

0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 Cancelled in Source System

Hi, I'm having problems with a BI7 dataload, from our CRM source system, based upon the 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 datasource. I've cleared down the data in my related InfoProviders, deleted all PSA requests and previous Delta Inits, and I'm now trying to load a new Init with Data Transfer. The job progresses so far (229,398 records) and then gets cancelled in the source system with the error message: "User is not integrated into organizational structure"
I've done some searching on SDN and can't find anyone posts with the same issue - my apologies if I've mised the key one.
I've reactivated the transfer structures using the activate all program in se38, and carried out an RSRV on the InfoProviders.
It was working when I last reloaded the data a few weeks ago, so something has changed either on the source system or the BI7 system since then, but I can't figure out why it's suddenly getting cancelled at source. It's also taking over 16 hours to get to this stage, whereas the last successful Init ran in four hours.
I've included the last part of the job log from the source system, showing the last successful data package and then the final system error message.
Any advice or help on this would be greatly appreciated.

There's a TIMESTAMPDIFF function.
An example from the book Oracle CRM On Demand Reporting has the following example...
TIMESTAMPDIFF( SQL_TSI_MINUTE, Activity."Start Time", Activity."End Time" )
which would return the difference in minutes.
As I type this, I'm thinking you probably know this and your problem is how to get the Activity start time for the next activity into this function. I sorry can't think of any way to do that.

Extraction of Open Activities from CRM (CRM t-code S_AE2_89000019)

Hi Experts,
we are to extract data from CRM, in detail the data is about open activities. However it is not pretty clear to me if there does exist SAP content for this requirement (DataSource, InfoSource, DSO, InfoCube etc).
The t-code we can use to display the data is in CRM is "S_AE2_89000019", the data input/modification of the activities is done in CRM using a web frontend. At least a part of the data is stored in the table "CRMD_ORDERADM_H".
Can you please let me know if the data is stored in further tables in CRM and suggest if there exists a DataSource (and InfoSource/DSO) in order to extract the open activities and handle them in BW.
If you have further suggestions/hints or if there are How-Tos/Blogs regarding this topic please kindly let me know.

thanks a lot for the suggestion. Data Source is correct, it is in deed DS "0CRM_SALES_ACT_1". Because I have already tried to retrieve data using this DS before opening the thread I checked the DS directly in CRM (t-code rsa3). There data showed up when doing a check of the DS directly in CRM. When I started the InfoPackage on BW side to load data in PSA there was an error that no data is availale . After searching the forum again I found this thread::
CRM - Reload in INIT mode : get 0 record
My problem could be solved by adding the entry in table SMOFPARSFA as described in the last post of the thread. Now the data shows up in BW. Although I do not know why it works now
However problem is solved, points are assigned. Thanks!

Outlook integration: All day activities are not displayed correclty

All day activities in MSA do not replicate correctly in outlook. If I create an all day activity in outlook, the activity is syncronized so I will find the appointment in outlook, but it will not be marked as all day appointment, and the time will not be from 12 am to 12 am of that day. Instead, I found that the system keeps the duration of the activity to 12 hours, but not starting and finishing in the same day.
However, when those all day appointments are created in outlook, they are refleted as all day activities in MSA so it works fine.
