0Equipment - specific equipment not appearing in BEx query
Hi all
We load data to 0equipment. This has been running successfully, no data loading issues. We have various queries associated with this InfoProvider.
The queries are fine and work as designed except that 2 pieces of equipment are not appearing in the analyser.
I can find no issues with the indivudal records - they are in BW (I checked the master data for 0Equipment and they are there). The master data is active.
I thought there might be some restrictions in the query which was causing these records to be omitted, so wrote a new test query on that InfoProvider where I apply no restrictions except on equipment number. I tested this with a piece of equipment that I know works, and the test query returns my data. However, when I run it for the problematic equipment I get 'No data available'. (when I execute the query I am able to select the problematic equipment number from the list of single values).
I'm rather stumped - any suggestions most welcome.
thanks and regards, Lara
run an RSRV test on the infoobject, there may be an issue with the SIDs. or if its a nav attribute could be an issue with the
X Y tables. RSRV should help

3. Maintained the master data for : Sales Region and Sales Office
4. Up loaded master data for : Mat_master,Customer_master
5. While designing the query : SRep_Id has been dragged into 'Rows'and in the propertice of SRep_id select the name of heirarchy
What is the problem : Heirarchy is not appearing in my query result
What I want is : Let ma know where went wrong and what to do for display

My query prompts does not appear in the Query prompt order list!
Dear colleagues,
All of my query prompts does not appear in the Query prompt order list in properties of the query. It seems random which of them that appears there and not.
This makes it impossible for me to control or change the order of prompts, instead they order themselves alphabetically.
Is this some kind of bug? Is there a fix for this problem?
Regards
SiljeHi Stratos,
We use Edge.
Correction- we use Enterprise, changed a few months ago!
By the way, we heard about a bug that probarly causes the problem.
If the query has ever had a prompt containing 'Between', all prompts created afterwards will not appear in the prompt order list! Even if the between-prompt is deleted.. We still havent heard about a fix for this, please contact me if you hear anyting. It is not an option to create all the queries from scratch again!

Bex Query Exception Not Appearing In Bex Report
I have a created an exception in a Bex Query and built a report using the Bex Report Designer. But the exceptions that work fine in the query dont seem to work once I've embedded the query in a report. Is this right? is it not possible to use exceptions in a report or do I need to turn something on etc?
Any help much apreciated.Hi Joel,
Pls refer the OSS # 331772 reg. this limitation. Exceptions if applied will not be dynamic in RD.
Report designer is a flat structure. You cannot collapse or expand the static columns. Hence, Conditions/Exceptions are not supported in Report Designer. You may try alternatively in WAD. It will surely work in WAD for formatted web based reports.
Thanks,

New ratio doesn't appear in Bex Query designer
Hello Experts,
I added 2 ratios to my infocube. It activated without any problem. I then added these 2 ratios to my multiprovider and activated it after affecting them to the previous infocube.
Then I connected to the Bex query designer and loaded a report in order to add these ratios, but there are not available for selection in the Ratio menu of the multiprovider.
Has anyone faced this problem?
ThanksTry reactivating the Multiprovider again and see if that works !
I had this issue earlier, where I couldn't see two of the newly added characteristics in the multiprovider. But simply reactivating the multiprovider solved my issue.

GetSelectedMember does not work on BEx Query Structure
Hi
Has anyone seen the following behaviour:
I have a BEx query
I created a design studio application that accesses the BEx query
The application displays a column chart. When you select a column, it 'jumps' to another tab that displays the detail in a table.
I used the following std. script
DS_DET.setFilter( "ZBCFLG005", CHART_1.getSelectedMember( 'ZBCFLG005' ) );
TABSTRIP_1.setSelectedTabIndex(1);
My issue is: when my Bex query uses a structure as a source for the chart, then getSelectedMember does not seem to provide the selected structure value (member) i.e. a simple structure filtered by characteristic ZBCFLG005.
However, when I change my BEx query by removing the structure and simply reporting the characteristic ZBCFLG005 in the rows, then getSelectedMember works i.e. provides the selected structure value (member).
How do I get Design Studio to read the member value from the BEx structure or is this a potential bug?
ThxHi Stephen,
I do not think this is a bug, I have used characteristic structures quite extensively without having an issue.
Are you using setfilter against a characteristic or against a characteristic structure?
In your example, you are using a characteristic in both, to filter from, and to filter to:
DS_DET.setFilter( "ZBCFLG005", CHART_1.getSelectedMember( 'ZBCFLG005' ) );
But if you use a characteristic structure, you should also use it also in bith from and to, e.g.:
DS_DET.setFilter( "00O2TG4C8BB5D9L8PYOLHP7N8", CHART_1.getSelectedMember( '00O2TG4C8BB5D9L8PYOLHP7N8' ) );
Best regards,

Other SDN-thread "500 Internal Sever - Flat Mode is not Supported!" related to transaction RSRT.
Execution of query via RSRT works, but the problem still persists in the BEx Web Analyzer.
Could be related to a BEx Web Analyzer "bookmark" ("Personalize Web Application").
I have not deleted any item. We use SAP BW 7.0 with a patch level approx. 09.2009.
The "flat-mode" seems to be the "BEx table mode".
SAP hints do not seem to fit here:
- 715820 BW 3.x Front-End Patch 14 (we use BW 7.0)
- 874825 SAPBWNews for BW 3.x Front-End Support Package 19
- 874827 SAPBWNews for BW 3.5 Front-End Patch 08 (we use BW 7.0)
- 905229 update to SAPTableTree
- 909824 Termination in flat mode when an object is deleted (old?)
- 909827 Incorrect InfoProvider-dependent characteristic values
- 910602 Condition includes too many characteristics (usage of deleted elements)
- 915215 Termination when a query definition is changed (old? visibility of elements?)
- 968273 Cache with flat files: Exception is not caught (does not apply to given error)
Any new solutions?
Best regards

New material specifi field not appearing in LSMW objects
Dear all,
Within the conversion process, we have to load "Z" specific fields whose values are stored in the MARC table but that are not appearing in the standard LSMW object 0020 - Material master. Is there a specific step or action to be taken (or object to be selected in LSMW) so these fields would appear in the structure ?
Thanks for your answer,
CheersHi Olivier
Standard object 0020 gives fields only available in standard tables MARA , MARC , MBEW, MAKT . I too faced this problem for ML based fields in accounting & costing views ( as these fields are not in MBEW they are in CKMLHD). The said Z field if it does not exist in MARC it cannot be seen through std object. U need to do a saperate recording to upload this field. I dont see any other option to my knowledge.U can up load remaing fields through the std object 0020 & create a saperate recorded LSMW only for this Z field.

Data not available in BEx query
Dear All,
I have loaded data and it was showing proper data. Queries are based on MultiProvider.
But now data is showing in MultiProvider but not in BEx queries. I have deleted all the data and re loaded but not working.
Plz help ASAP.
Regards,
SSYes and filters are working fine.
When i debugged the issue, i found that this is becaus eof Nav attributes. If i am removing Nav attributes from the query it is working fine.
Strangely, the same attributes are switched on in another MultiProvider and queries from that MultiProvider is working fine.
Plz help ASAP. -
OBIEE: Criterias not appearing in Answers query
Hi All,
I am trying to include two criterias based on date conditions in Oracle Answers but when I look at the query generated by BI server, I can't see the criterias included in where caluse. Please can u help!
Criterias are something like this:
CAST("Workorder Production Dimension".Required AS DATE) <= CAST("Partner Dimension".START_DATE AS DATE)
and CAST("Workorder Production Dimension".Required AS DATE) >=timestampadd(sql_tsi_day,-1,CAST(CURRENT_DATE AS DATE)) AND CAST("Workorder Production Dimension".Required AS DATE) <=timestampadd(sql_tsi_day,4,CAST(CURRENT_DATE AS DATE))
There are two more criterias I have put in answers and these are appearing in the backend query:
Extid contains any Catchup
and Name is not equal to / is not in BT Cardinal
Regards,
NehaFYI: when you use current_timestamp as any col exp no need to clear the cache.
I assume your interpretation might be wrong and without sharing the log its hard to tell. I haven't seen any issues related to log.
thanks

Zero Suppression Not working in Bex Query with Formula Variable
Hi Friends,
I have a peculiar issue here. We upgraded from 3.5 to 7.0 recently. Some of our Bex queries have been behaving abnormally after this. In these queeries,
we have some key figures which use formula variables (ready for input and mandatory) in 3.5. User can enter either 1 or 0. The actual key figure is multiplied to the formula variable so, the entire column gets the actual key figure value if the user enters a value '1' and the gets the value 0 if the user enters '0' in the formula variables. Zero suppression is activated on the rows and columns and this report. This technique was used successfully to show/hide a column.
After upgrade, the same query works but, the zero suppression is not working. When the user enters a value of '0' in these formula variables, all the entries in the column for the key figure are displayed as 0 but the column is still displayed. It is like the zero suppression setting is not active at all.
I created one of those queries in Bex 7.0 to see if that works but, the issue still exits. Have anyone come across this kind of a scenario? Please get back to me if anyone has any idea on this situation.
Thanks and Regards
Subray HegdeWhich SP level are you at in BI 7? There is an OSS Note that would need to be applied if you're on lower than SP10. That note is:

Account not appearing in the query
Hi All,
I am running a PCA report. After executing the query, I was not able to see one of the accounts. This account currently has budget amounts in it. It does not have any actuals in it as of now. Like for example if I am running the query just for accounts and amounts for fiscal period 001/2006 to 012/ 2007, I am able to see the first 12 cells empty and the next ones filled up with the budget amounts. But when I am running the same query for period 001/2006 to 012/2006, I am unable to see the account. I even tried by unchecking the suppress zero rows/columns. The user wants to see that account in the report even though it has got no data in it. I was just wondering if the account does not have actual values in it, will it not show up in the query for that particular period? Is there any setting that I can change to see this account also?Hi Bhanu,
Thanks for your reply. I am not familiar with both the options. But if I would like to go ahead with the 2nd option, how do I add the KF in the query. Can you please tell me what are the steps for doing so? Also I was wondering if we change the OACCOUNT Business Explorer settings in RSA1, will it help me? Like under the BEX tab, in the general settings for query execution filter value selection, currently it has only posted values for navigation. But there are 2 more options like only values in infoprovider and only values in master data table. If I change any of these settings, will I be able to display the missing account as it is available in Master data. Please let me know.

Currency translation type NOT appearing in BEX
Hi All,
I'm having trouble displaying the currency translation type in BEX after running the query. When I use the context menu for 'Currency Translation', I do not see the desired curr tran types in the drop down list. They are available in the Query Designer but not after I've executed the query.
I also noticed that the ones that ARE available all have 'Fixed time ref' or 'Query key date' in the Time ref. The ones I would like to view have a 'Variable Time Ref' but not sure why this is causing a problem. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
SenthilHi Senthil,
I believe this is happening because when you have run the report and got data, it means that this data refers to a particular time. If BEx allows you a variable time reference for the currency conversion, after the report has been run taking into account a different time...I am not sure if it would make sense... -
Changing InfoObject Casesensitiveness did not affect the BEx Query
Hi all,
I have created an InfoObject which is case insensitive. Populated masterdata and used in few cubes. I populated transaction data and also created some queries around the cubes.
Later I got into a situation where I need to change
the "Load small case chars" property of the infoobject.
Now I need both small and caps.
I deleted the master data for the infoobject and also deleted
the transaction data and then reactivated the infoobject
with the property toggled on. repopulated the master data.
Now When I open the BEx to modify my query, the master data is only showing unique records , ie
even though I had records like A,B,C,F,a,e,d,f the list shows only a,B,C,e,d,f. ie, the capital A and F is missing.
Any idea why this is happening? I checked the SID table for the infoobject, 'A' as well as 'a' is available.

AnoopHi,
Activate the master data? I could not find an option to activate the master data for the infoobject seperately. Please clarify. Yes, the master Data check box is turned on the master data tab.
I guess, may be dropping the whole infoobject and creating it once again with the "Lower case also" option turned on may solve it. I feel, the problem happens when you change the case sensitiveness of the infoobject half way through, ie after using it in a few cubes and reports.
Well, then i will have to undo this object from all my infocubes first before I delete it. That is something that I am trying to avoid.
Has anyone tried changing this attribute of an Infoobject.
A sample scenario is the VBTYP (Document Category) domain values.

Bi systems properties are not appearing in BEX
Hi,
I have saved my SAPLOGON.INI file in my system and I am seeing all the BI systems (Dev,Qty & Prod) in Logon pad. When i try to open the BEX Analyzer through programs-BEX-Analyzer there i am not seeing any of the BI Systems.
if I try Login through RRMX t.code then i am able to logon the Analyzer.
Why i am not seeing any of the BI systems in Analyzer through logon programs-BEX-Analyzer.
could you please let me know the reason.
Regards,
Sharma.Hi Sharma,
The saplogon.ini should be stored in the same directly where your BI components are installed. Check if moving it to there it will work or not.
Which steps have you performed? Did you copy the file from the original one and then saved it into a new directory?

Daniel
