0FC_BP_ITEMS and DFKKOP: append structure

Hi BI fans
DFKKOP is already filled with customer-defined ZZ-fields.
The extractor for datasource 0FC_BP_ITEMS need to be enriched by these ZZ-fields.
As I assume, there is no need to fill the extractor by a customer exit (CMOD, EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001) as the fields are already in the base table DFKKOP. Correct?
That means appending to the structur is enough?!

Hi,
Being a standard table and standard extractor I don't think just appending fields in standard table will solve your problem.
Though this extractor pulls data from this table but it might be for standard fields only. The simple way to verify this is you can try to modify this extractor in RSA6 and check if it shows 'ZZ" fields or not.
Finally you will have to enhance the standard extractor and write the EXIT code to extract data from same table.

Generic extractor and an append structure

Hi all,
this system is driving me crazy. So, that's something worked in former times..
I created an generic extractor on VEKP. I have not restricted to any selection criteria or hide any field. The system generated the extractor and everything is fine. THEN I created an append on the generic extractor and put different fields inside the append. I want (and this works) to fill this different field via user exit for extraction. All field in the append are having the prefix ZZ, all field are characteristic and there is no inconsistency in the append. I activated the append.
AND NOW - none of the fields of the append is available in RSA6 to hide or none hide or do anything. They are not available. By checking with SE11 on the generated structure - all field including the append are there.
We are on ECC 5.0 with PI 2004.1 for 5.0 SP 10.
Can anyone help. As i told you, this worked in former times (with SAP 4.6C with PI 2004.1 or lower).

Hi Siggi,
I have not created an special Append on the VEKP. I created an generic extractor on the VEKP. All fields of VEKP are available and I can hide or choose selection-field for all of these fields. No problem.
i created an append on the extract structure via RSA6 - enhancement. I know that after generating the generic extractor with RSO2 all settings done in former times in RSA6 are lost. But, my problem is: I can not see any of the fields I put into the append. They are not there. Not in ROOSFIELD and following not in RSA6. And that's the problem.

Append structure activation

hi all,
we have got some problems while dealing with append structure.
actually ,we tried to add some fields to the append structure of mara table ,
then when activating it showed activation logs.so the table mara and the append structure to it is partly active.
so is ther any way i can undo the changes so that the mara table and append structure gets activated becaise while undoing the changes ,it is also not allowing us to activate.
kindly suggest any way out.

once u add the fields in the structure & then when u append that in the database table ., then u have to adjust the database for the table.
gotto se11... give ur table name ..diaplay..then utilities..click on database uitility, then at the bottom of the screen there is a push button "activate & adjust database"..
clcik on tht button... table will adjusted for mass activation..

What is diff b/w Include Structure and Append Structure at Database Level

1. Append Structures
Append structures can only be assigned to a single table.
Append structures are created in the custome rnamespace ( ZZ or YY)
In case of new versions of the standard table during upgrade, the append structures are automatically appended to the new version of the standard table
Append structures can not be used with cluster and pool tables
Append structures are created in transaction SE11. Display the standard table fields and press the Append structure button.
When you press the button, SAP sugests a name for the new append structure. After you has accepted the name,
a screen will be shown where you can enter the new fields.
Remember to activate.
2. Customizing Includes
Some of the SAP standard tables contains special include statements called Customizing includes. In contrast to Append structures,
Note that customizing includes are created by SAP, but the customer supply the fields for the include.
Customizing includes begin with CI_ and is part of the customer namespace
One Customizing include can be inserted into more than one table.
You can find Customizing includes in SE11 under structures.
Try to take a look at table RKPF which uses the Customizing include CI_COBL (In an IDES system). Next try to add a field to CI_COBL, and activate it. If you go back to table RKPF you will se that your new field has been added.

Hi,
Go to se11 - data type - give Z* and press F4.
Pop-up will come - click on search for structures - u will get standard structures.
Then take any structure name and check for where used list ( cont + shift + F3) .
U will get all the DB tables where and all they have used that include / append structure.

An include program has two main functions:
It contains code which can be used by several different programs.
It helps you to modularize programs, which consist of many different logically related parts. Each of these parts is stored as a separate include program.
Include programs improve the readability of programs and make maintenance easier.
Include reports contain rolled out parts of reports. They are called by the main report, and can only be run in conjunction with the main report.
APPEND:
Append structures are used for enhancements that are not included in the standard. This includes special developments, country versions and adding customer fields to any tables or structures.
An append structure is a structure that is assigned to exactly one table or structure. There can be more than one append structure for a table or structure.
The following enhancements can be made to a table or structure TAB with an append structure:
Insert new fields in TAB,
Define foreign keys for fields of TAB that already exist,
Attach search helps to fields of TAB that already exist

Difference between include structure and Append structure

Could you please tell me
I have bsis table and it contains append structure in 4.7 SAP System.
my program in 4.7 system contains internal table which used same structure of bsis table ( which contains additonal field in its append structure ).
I need to have same table structure in 4.6 C because I am copying the same program into 4.6 system.
As I could not append structure to bsis table in 4.6C SAP system,
instead of that shall I add the field or Shall include the structure to run .
What is the difference between Include structure and Append structure ( I forgot )
How to achieve this please help me ?

A standard table contains the fields Field 1, Field 2 and Field 3. An append structure containing the fields ZZA and ZZB is defined for this table. After activating the table, the corresponding database table contains fields Field 1, Field 2, Field 3, ZZA and ZZB.
Further Remarks:
An append structure can only be assigned to exactly one table or structure. If you want to append the same fields to several tables or structures, you can store these fields in an include structure. In this case you must create an append structure for each of these tables or structures and include the include structure there.
Adding an append structure to an SAP standard table is supported by the Modification Assistant.
If you want to insert a field that is to be delivered with the R/3 standard in the next Release in the customer system in advance, you must include it in the table itself as a repair. If you include such a field in an append structure for the table, it will occur twice when the new standard table is imported. This will result in an activation error.
No append structures may be added to tables with long fields (data types VARC, LCHR or LRAW). This is because a long field must always be the last field in the table. However, structures with long fields can be enhanced with append structures.
If a table or structure with an append structure is copied, the fields of the append structure become fields of the target table. Foreign key definitions and search help attachments appended with the append structure are copied to the target table.
Foreign keys for the appended fields must be defined within the append structure. Fields of the table or structure assigned to the append structure may be defined when assigning the key field and foreign key field.
Indexes on the appended fields must be defined in the original table.
A table or structure TAB can only be enhanced with new foreign keys or search help attachments using an append structure. You therefore cannot change an existing foreign key definition or search help attachment for a field of TAB with the append structure.

Can not store data to append structure in mara

Hi
after make the following steps, I have problem, please give me some tips. thanks
1, Append structure Zcode in MARA.
2, Created a ZMGD1 via SE80 copy from function group MGD1.
3, modify screen 0001, put this Zcode in this screen and FC MARA-Zcode.
4, change SPRO, specify new program SAPLZMGD1 for this screen 0001.
after these steps, I can find out this new field (Zcode) appear in MM02.
but, the data of Zcode can not be store in MARA.

How to activate the transparent table along with append structure

Hi,
I add the new fields in existing append structure on tale VBAP.
Initially i provide them the data type as Char with length 20.
Similarly i added the fields in user exit on scree 8459 to add fields on screen.
Until this eveything was working fine.
Then my functional consultant ask me to delete one field from structure and change the length of other data types to 40 characters.
I done this changes but when i go to activate that append structure its giving me error that certan structures in which it is been used are not adjusted and activated.
The table is not adjusted through SE14 - Database Utlity.
Its showing me that Runtime Object and Transparent table are different and not consistent.
Can i delete the runtime object?
The domains which i ave changed are also not geing activated.
Suggest me the node of problem and solution also.
What should be the problem.
What should i do to solve the problem.
Suggest me the solution if any.

Give a trail that instead of activating all together, activate low-level objects (domains, data elements etc)first and then high levels (structures, tables) individually. With this approach you could find the errors easily and can resolve quickly.

Appending structures to fbl5n

hi people. .
I created a struct:ZINV_FBL5N with 4 fields and need to append them to RFPOS structure and RFPOSX structure.
But when i try to do i get the error that the struct already exists. Also while creating the structure I have not used data element as shown in the pics below.
Please guide.

You first created the structure ZINV_FBL5N and then tried to create append structure. Actually, you should have done the following things. Firstly, you should press append structure; then create; give a name to the structure; add the fields and activate the structure. The new fields added would then reflect in RFPOS and RFPOSX structure. In your case, system issued a message because you created the structure, and then tried to create append structure with the same name.
The standard way of adding customized fields to append structure is to create a structure,say ZABC add the fields. Press append structure, create an append structure with different name ( name starts with ZZ* or YY* ) and then add the structure ZABC using .include ( include structure from the menu )

Append structure

hi ,
i am getting an error message while am creating an append structure.
what i have done is ..
i created a structure in SE11 with 4 fields with name zstruct .
and i have one ztable with 5 fields. when i am trying to append a structure through Append Structure button , system is asking for the name of the structure.
here is my problem...
when trying to giving the structure name which i was created earlier ie., zstruct, it giving error that " structure name is already created."
can any please help me in this regard.

u cannt append the structure with the same name as it is already created.....
u have to give the different name and thier u specify the field names....
the u r table will get appended with the new fields...

Package Check Error while activating the Appended Structure

Hi CRM Gurus,
A structure is appended to a standard structure. while activating the appended structure its throwing Error called-
Package Check for Table/Structure ZCDPR_BW_BUPA_LINKS .
The object TABL ZCDPR_BW_BUPA_LINKS uses SQLT DPR_BW_BUPA_LINKS.
plz help me to get the solution in this regard.

Error while appending structure into BSEG Table

We had appended BSEG table with a ZSTRUCTURE to enable Custom field in MIRO. Subsequently there was a change required in the appended field. After Changing the field there was adjustment required to activate the appended table . However due to slow system performance during that time the Adjustment SE14 timed out. And created inconsistency in BSEG table.
If I Do the Table adjustment now it is showing below error.
We tried to delete the append structure also but the structure is not appearing in the append structure list to delete.
Even if we try deleting the Z structure from se11 it is throwing below error.
Any one could help me out to resolve this..

Please First Check if the Database version and disctionary version are in sync.
Also, it could be the case that you would have enhanced an already existing Append stucture. which might be being used in other BKPF dependent tables.
