0IC_C03 Cube Enhancement

I am having an issue with updating the cube with new infoobjects and key figures. I am using 7.0 features and have converted the transformations properly. The data is fine and i can tie it out to r/3, but when I attempt to add a infoobject to the cube and run the DTP, the load fails. I have followed all the steps properly from the How To:, but it doesnt really mention enhancement of the cube.
Does anybody have any idea on what i am doing wrong.

The error i am receiving is very general and says "Error while updating to target 0IC_C03 (type INFOCUBE)" with no further explannation. I have attempted to debug but havent really used that feature and will have to learn more about. I am attempting to create a new infoobject in the cube that does a simple calculation based off of 0calday. It seems though anything i add to this cube the loads fail. I believe it might have to do with the non-cumulative key figures in this object but I dont know much about those either.
There are no special characters in this it is simply a key figure that returns a value.

When running a query of a 0IC_C03 cube copy inventory shows as blank

When loading the 0IC_C03 cube copy ZMM_C01 Cube: Material Stocks/Movements, if there
is no movements for that day in a plant the inventory values do not show when we run a query on that key date
When we create a movement type and run the extraction then the ending inventory values
will show when we run a query usig that key date.
So if there are no movements types for a plant then the inventory balance does not show up in our query reports. Once we post a
movement type for a plant and extract data then rerun our reports then the inventory balances show up.

Missing movement type data in 0IC_C03 cube

Hi Gurus ,
i have deltas running for 0ic_c03 cube in B1 7.0 i have used transformations for loading cube .
In a report of this cube for plant material stock, i can c the quantities matching with MB51 report of R/3 where as the values are not matching for sum material ( negative stock values with 0 qtys )
i found that a movement type 121 data is missing in BW
i have read thread on the forum suggesting to work on OMJJ transaction and make 121 movement type as statistics relevant.
But i want to know how this action will effect on R/3 update controlling ?
any inputs will b a grt help

Hi,
We faced lot of problems with missing movement type, fo that we taken correct confirmation from MM team and then added it in Update Rules and deleted the data in Cube and then Re-Initialized the Cube.
To do this, you need ECC Down Time. I'm talking about BW 3.5. I think in BI7, it may be easy, (without taking down time, pls check).

Adding fields to 0IC_C03 cube

Hi friends,
I have to add some fields into 0IC_C03 cube. The fields are reson for movement ,special stock indicator,sales order etc. They are cmg in the datasource 2lis_03_bf. I did add them and load the data , but the data was not coming properly. Is there any other method by which i can make use of these fields without adding them in the cube and make a multiprovider on that. I need to have the customer field also. Will this data come if i make a multiprovider on top of this . Can i make a generic datasource from the table which is giving these fields and make a DSO with these fields and make a multiprovider on it.
Will the key date concept work on this .

Display of Vendor in the 0IC_C03 cube

Hi all,
I am using the 0IC_C03 cube to display quantity and value of raw materials received, issued and consumed. Each one is being restricted by movement types. Is there any means to display the vendor with regard to received from, issued to and consumed by.
Cause the Vendor is displayed against items which do not have any movement type.
Please suggest.

I dont hink so you can add any Vendor detail irrespective of Movement type, that cube is especially for movement type wise details.

What if the multiprovider is involved in cube enhancements?

Hi,
I have added one characteristic in the cube definition and wrote a routine for that in update rules.
In this update routine i have to refer one more field which was not there in BW. So i had enhanced the data source with the field required for referal in update routine. so effectively i did added two characteristics in the cube definition.
actually reporting is not done on this cube but on a multi provider instead which has this cube and nothing else as it constituents.
now what exactly i need to do in multi provider definition as it is now in deactive stage?
i mean in the identification tab of multiprovider definition,i did transferred to the structure table from template table side and really donno with the check boxes available ( after clicking identification tab, identification of characteristics involved screen ) which are somany and my new fields are appearing everywhere.
pls do suggest me!

What do u mean by fileds appearing everywhere.. After you have moved ur 2 new IOsu shld see them in identification.. If ther eis more number of cubes under ur multiplrovider only then u will more on ur identification.

Inventory 0IC_C03 Cube Transformations issue BI 7

Hi Experts,
we are Installing Inventory Cube 0IC_C03, with In dataflow options in BI 7, 2LIS_03_BF transformtions is in Active State, while 2LIS_03_BX transformtion and 2LIS_03_UM transformtions are in Active.
and for most of the Keyfields in Cube are not mapped with infosource fields.
can any body implemented Inventory in BI 7 system, any body faced this issue. can you please share how you resolved this issue.
we are on BI Content 703 11 version.

No need to check start routine code for this.
Goto Transformation --> Change mode --> Choose Rule Group (on top of window, middle of the screen) --> Choose 05 --> Dispay mapping --> check routines available or not.
Confirm back are you able to see filed routine or not...!!

BI Content Update rules not available for 0IC_C03 cube

We have recently did technical upgrade to our DEV box and made a system copy for sand box. I am trying to install the BI content for 0IC_C03 infocube. I cant see update rules for this data flow. I could see Transformations and can also see info source (ex: 2LIS_03_BF_TR) which we dont expect. We havent migrated or never used inventory BI content. What is the reason we could see transformations for this cube data flow in BI content? We are on SP15. I tried to install transformations but cant install them properly.

Hi A,
Business content it's still using 3.x data flow. That's why you see a 3.x infosource.
You won't have transformations for this. The update rules icon is like a transformation but with a small white square on the left.
So the dataflow you should have is:
Cube
Update Rules (0IC_C03 2LIS_03_BF)
    3.x InfoSource (Material movements (as of 2.0B))
      Transfer Rules
        Datasource
You'll see a small square next to all the objects, except for the cube. This means 3.x object.

0ic_c03 cube compression

Hello gurus,
I want to compress the stock cube (0IC_C03) for the performance issues.
Can you please confirm the process? I'm not sure about steps 3 and 4.
1- Delete the data in the cube
2- Start Delta Dtp from Ods to Cube
3- After the Dtp execution completes, compress the cube by setting "No marker Update" checked
4- After the compression completes, set "No marker Update" NOT checked
5- Start Delta Dtp

It is very usefull, but stock issue is a little complicated.Thats why I wanted to create this discussion.
I use aggreagation for my cube. Is it a problem to compress the cube?

The data in the cube is ensured, we have the historical movements.
I have the ODS with material movements (I have related key fields).
So the steps 3 and 4 are confirmed?
3- After the Dtp execution completes, compress the cube by setting "No marker Update" checked
4- After the compression completes, set "No marker Update" NOT checked
Suhas Karnik, guess you tell the inverse way:
"If you have ensured the above, perform setup, do a full load of all the material movements and compress with marker update (i.e. checkbox unticked). If you are splitting the data loads, ensure that you load the movements chronologically (i.e. load the oldest movements first)."

Business Content Inventory Management (0IC_C03) Cube

I am thinking of adding a data staging ODS to our Inventory Management model. However, I wanted to check whether the delivered cube 0IC_C03 is aggregated or whether it is a representation of the R3 extraction. If the latter is the case I do not see the purpose of an additional ODS layer. Could anyone pass their thoughts? Thanks

Data is not updated into the ODS when you load certain data records of the 2LIS_03_BF extractor.

Reason and Prerequisites
The 2LIS_03_BF extractor does not return any "connected" after and before images, as in the SD extraction, for example.
Originally, the extractor was only designed for updating into an InfoCube. The extraction method was converted from the "D" delta process to "ABR1" with PI 2000.1 patch 4, or PI-A 2000.1 patch 4 so that it could be updated into an ODS object (see notes 322303, 385703 and 323811).
If documents are canceled in Inventory Management, a new document is generated (new document and item number).
This type of operation is transferred into BW with the "ROCANCEL" field set to 'X'. This results in the necessary inversion of quantities or value key figures. A new record is generated for this in the ODS (the "preceding document" has another key).
Example:
ODS key: Doc.
Movement data:
Document   Item    Document year   Movement type     Qty     ROCANCEL
4711       1       2002             101              +100
4712       1       2002              102              -100     X
ODS contents:
Document   Item.   Document year   Movement type    Quantity
4711       1       2002             101                 +100

The "Movement type" field was set to "initial" in the data record for document "4712" by the processing during the ODS update.
Document 4712 is a before image (0RECORDMODE = 'X') for the ODS. Therefore, this data does not arrive in the ODS. Nevertheless, the before image (document 4712) does not have any context with the after image (document 4711) because there are different keys (document/item/document year). The SAP R/3 inventory management controls these activities with new material documents and (reversal) movement types.
BW technology note no. 747037 provides more information.
Solution
You have two options to evaluate cancellations or operations which contain reversal movement types and ROCANCEL = "X" in the ODS:
1. Implement a start routine
Insert the following code into the start routine of your update:
ODS key: Material doc.|Item number|Calendar year

if DATA_PACKAGE-recordmode eq 'X'.
    DATA_PACKAGE-recordmode = ''.
    modify DATA_PACKAGE.

2. Change the transfer rules
With the transfer rules, do not assign the "ROCANCEL" DataSource field to the "0RECORDMODE" InfoObject in the InfoSource. As a result, only records with "0RECORDMODE" = ' ' are transferred to the ODS. For the ODS, the after images whose characteristics or key figures that are set to overwrite, are not deleted.
Other special features when updating the extractors of the inventory management into ODS objects:
1. 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM
a) ODS capability
For more information, see notes 322303, 323811 and 385703.
b) Key creation
For 2LIS_03_BF, see note 417703.
The following keys are available for 2LIS_03_UM:
1. MCMSEG-BUKRS
2. MCMSEG-BELNR
3. MCMSEG-GJAHR
4. MCMSEG-BUZEI
Field no. 4 is not delivered as standard in the extract structure, but it can be added using the Logistics extract structures Customizing Cockpit.
Field no. 1 may not be included in the relevant organizational structure.
2. 2LIS_03_BX (up to and including 3.0B 2LIS_40_S278)
The dynamic stock calculation from stocks (2LIS_03_BX) and movements (2LIS_03_BF) is only possible with (non-cumulative) InfoCubes.
Using ODS technology is only useful in this context for:
- an Enterprise DataWarehouse layer
- the realization of a snapshot scenario:

Problems adding new caracteristics ti 0IC_C03 Cube

Hi people:
We made a copy of standar cube 0IC_C03. We add some new time characteristics (0halfyear, etc..). De activation of the cubes is OK, but when we try to map the corresponding fields in the tranformation rules, the new fields doesn't exist. Like the group of transformation are standar, we try to add them manually, but the infoobject isn't seen.
Does this cube has a limitation for adding new infoobjects? Am I misssing some step I don't know?

There is a relation between time characterstics ,
We have to take care of this relation in the transformation mapping where we are mapping source fields to target fields.

I executed the "Stock Overview: Materials" report( included 0VENDOR Characteristic to Rows in Query designer) on 0IC_CO3 Cube,where Vendor is displayed against some In-house Production Materials from Raw material -X),for which the F.consultant says that Vendor should be displayed only against the Raw material X (which we purchase )and shouldnt be against materials Y and Z
( Y produced from X and then Z from Y)(EG X--Y---Z)..Can anyone give the reason behind this ( just a standard report)..

Assumption : Data is from R/3.
Locate a characteristic in your query which has a description 'Material Type', hard code 'ROH' value to it & execute.
Material Type ROH stands for Raw Materials,HALB - Semifinished Products & FERT - Finished Goods in R/3.
You had mentioned that X is an ingredient in Y. Then Y should ideally either be Material Type HALB or FERT.

Inventory Management (0IC_C03) cube

1. Compressing the request containing the opening stock that was just uploaded. Make
sure the "No marker update" indicator is not set. Please consider note very carefully
643687 before you carry out the compression of requests in stock InfoCubes!
2. Loading the historical movements into the InfoCube 0IC_C03 via the DataSource /
InfoSource 2LIS_03_BF. Choose the upload mode "Initializing the delta process"
here.
3. After successfully uploading the historical material movements, the associated
request has to be compressed. You must make sure the "No marker update"
indicator is set. This is necessary because the historical material movements are
already contained in the opening stock. Well look more closely at markers later on.

0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER datasource and 0MAT_PLANT into 0IC_C03 cube

Hi all,
We would like use the 0IC_C03 Stock MVT infocube with 0MAT_PLANT instead 0MATERIAL.
On the other hand, we'll need the 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER datasource (class values).
My question :
Can we connect the 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER datasource to 0MAT_PLANT infoobject?
If yes, how can we do it ?
For information, we don't like use 0MATERIAL because we would avoid to use 2 same infobject in the same infocube (0MATERIAL and 0MAT_PLANT).

How to revert request posting in inventory cube 0IC_C03

Hi Experts,
We are doing inventory at our storage. We have one problem
By mistake 2 delta requests are posted in 0IC_C03 cube and it is compressed.How to revert back the last delta request.

Hi ,
You can revert bcak by doing Selective Deletion.
You search for a field Load Date in cube, If ypu have that field pls go ahead and give yesterdays or todays load date as per your requirement as selections and delete the data selectively.
Else if you dont have load date then, you need to do small work around........Go to PSA and put filter on Posted date or created on date or some time fields and figure out the list of dates.
Based on above dates you can clean up the previous records from cube by doing selective deltion.
