0MATERIAL ATTRIBUTES LOAD

Hi All,
We are trying to load 0material attr.
We receive error message
Value '$ ' for characteristic 0UNIT contains invalid characters
After some investigation we see that unit values in English as PC are ok
But letters in local language gives the error above.
We defined in RSKC  the ALL_CAPITALS ,the local language letters.
And we still have the error when loading the data to the info object .
Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks,
Adir

Hi,
your error message looks like you try to post a currency sign as a unit. This seems to be your error. Analyze the material for which $ is maintained as a unit and try to correct the error in your source system. I already faced similar errors, specially when somebody tried some very special settings in the R/3 transactions like posting an amount to a quantity field and assigning some special abbrieviations for the currency to the unit of measures table.

  • 0material attribute - classification extraction

    Dear BW Experts,
We have custom info object created for classification characteristics attached to 0material. Custom info object is an attribute of 0meterial.
We have loaded key and text description of the R/3 material classification data into Custom info object. we attach/load classification details to each material in 0mateterial through DSO.
We found that some mismatch with respect to classification loaded into 0material. For example, 'ABC' material, classification value supposed to be '23' but system loaded some other classification key '45' which lead though wrong text description display in the report. system is acting in this manner due to some malfunctioning of data loading sequence, however classification field mapping in the BW system seems to be correct one.
Now, We would like to apply remedies by emptying custom info object and same time we also need to empty custom info object values attached to 0material.
We can delete content of custom info object independently but how can we remove value which are already assigned to 0material ? What are the ways through which we can remove classification value already assigned to each material in 0material info object.
This issue is related to R/3 material classification into SAP BW 0material attribute.
    Please advise.
    Thks,

    Hi,
As far as i understand your problem......
The right data is being extracted from R/3, however because of some discrepancy on the BW side, the wrong values have been loaded.
Well, the easiest way to clear the field would be to dispay load 0 values for that custom IO.
This can be achieved with a flat file load.......
Alternatively, you can can change the mapping of the master data by removing the assigned IO.... but before moving teh master data, you will haev to delete the master data from prod and also the dat ain teh InfoProviders where the master data is used..
However the best possible solution would be to identify the bug and then do a data load again. As the master data is in overwrite mode

  • Duplicated records in Master Data Attribute Load

    Hi All,
I'm getting the following errors during a masterdata attribute load:
*1 duplicate record found. 8 recordings used in table /BIC/QEMP_IPF
From my experience, when this error happened to other loads, I can make it go away by changing the infopackage setting to update to PSA and then to InfoObject (package by package). However for this load, I have already selected this infopackage setting and the error is still happening.
Can anyone advise me on how to troubleshoot this further? Thanks.
    Regards,
    KM

You selected option 1 from IP, select option 3 under processing tab.
IP->processing->only PSA+ select Update Subsequently to Data Target + select ignore double data records
    Hope it will work fine.

  • Request Status for Master Data Attributes Load

    Dear All,
We are trying to load attribute master data and volume of which is relatively huge around 10,000 records.
We are facing challenge while updating attribute data from master data info object , the load status remains in yellow status and when we went to details screen it states that data is transfered to transfer rule . ( it has been loaded successfully in to PSA).
Could anybody please give some hint on this challenge ??
    Regards
    Kapadia

    Hi  Paolo Siniscalco,
You are right, as number of records are more , i have chosen update of "Only PSA" and then "Subsequently in Data Targets".
I tried other option also which is infopackage  schedule "Execute in Back ground" and
"Request batch process runs untill all data is updated in BW". And process went in to infinite loop.
Some how i am not able to track out why the request status is not changing .

  • Error IsICP attribute load metadata

    Dear Experts,
I have the following error message while loading metadata :
    Data:: Scenario::BUDGET Year::2014 has 1 record of Changed::[ ENTITY::Entity1::IsICP : Y -> N ]
    Data:: Scenario::BUDGET Year::2014 has 1 record of Changed::[ ENTITY::Entity2::IsICP : Y -> N ]
I changed IsICP attribute from Y to N. Could you please tell me what action should I perform to correct this issue?
    Thanks for your help,
    Benoit

The account you changed from IsICP Y to N has data/journals in it stored on an ICP member other than [ICP None]. By changing that account to IsICP N you would make that data /journal invalid so it is giving you that error. You need to find the data/journal in that account that is stored in an ICP member other than [ICP None] and delete it (maybe move it to [ICP None]. This error message can also be related to journals that aren't yet posted though if that was the case it wouldn't specify a scenario and year like it does in your error message.

  • 0MATERIAL attributes deleted from the active version of the InfoObject.

    Hello Experts ,
As per a Business requirement , I deleted some of the system defined attributes of the 0MATERIAL charecteristics , and found the new active version of 0MATERIAL is incompatible with the SID table , Attribute and text master data table. I tried to copy the original version of 0MATERIAL from the business content  but the system is not allowing me to do so , instead it duplicated all the attribute fields twice in the 0Material and created 3 version of 0MATERIAL  "active" , "revised" and "content".
Also one user defined attribute BW_MATN was created , and now wants to get rid of that.
I want to revert back the original master data field (attribute and text) and other technical settings of 0MATERIAL infoobject equivalent to that in Business Content, and should have ideally one active version of 0Material "   during that process if I require to loose the current master data that is fine.
Kindly Advise how to achieve that .
    Regards
    Deblina

As per a Business requirement , I deleted some of the system defined attributes of the 0MATERIAL charecteristics , and found the new active version of 0MATERIAL is incompatible with the SID table , Attribute and text master data table.
You should have created a Z infoobject by the name ZMATERIAL by using 0MATERIAL as a template and then modified it (ZMATERIAL)  .
Also if you find any attribute of an Infoobject is of no use then instead of deleting it just leave it as it is as SAP has provided it for some reason and you never know when you need them in future .
And yes you cannot install the business content version of 0material if there is data in the master data table .
By the way which version of BI are you working on ?
If you are on  BI 7.0 SP 23 or higher (BW 7.3)  then there are some new additional functionality added to delete the master data with ease .
Refer the below URL for the same

  • How to reset Vendor attribute load Delta pointer?

When we loaded data for 0VENDOR_ATTR, get red error '# ' invalid characters.

    Kevin,
If you have large no of vendor and you do not want to do a full load (rather restrict it to the 2k odd you had in that load), you can do that.
1 - If you have it in PSA :
Get the PSA table name (table RSTSODS, specify datasource as 0vendor_attr and field ODSNAME_TECH will give you the table)
Check this table in SE16, you will get the request/vendors there.
Create a full upload infopackage based on vendor selection; in vendor selection specify type 6 (ABAP routine), write code in the routine to read all the vendor from PSA table identified above for the specific request. Run the infopackage, it will bring those vendors data.
    2 - On source system;
You can read CDHDR and CDPOS entries for the vendor changed since last good load; this gives you all the vendor you want to send to BW. You can 'create' change pointer entries by writing these to BDCP, and then run your delta which will pick these up.

  • Values for attributes in 0MATERIAL missing

    Dear friend,
I have infoobjects 0FAMILY, 0SEGMENT as attributes of 0MATERIAL and i have loaded master data in dev BW and QBW for all the infoobjects including 0MATERIAL. Now in dev BW  i see values for 0FAMILY and 0SEGMENT in master data for 0MATERIAL but i dont see these values in QBW for 0MATERIAL. What could be the reason? Please suggest?
    Thanks

    Bhanu,
There is master data in 0FAMILY,0SEGMENT and 0MATERIAL but in QBW the values for 0FAMILY and 0SEGMENT are missing. I have checked the transfer structure for 0MATERIAL attributes and found that there is a routine for populating 0FAMILY and 0SEGMENT. The code is as below. I am still pondering what is missing?  Thanks for all the help.

abort <> 0 means skip whole data package !!!

  • 0MATERIAL / ZMATERIAL TEXT field load failure

    Hi Guru's
I am experiencing failures in my text attribute load to ZMATERIAL
0MATERIAL TEXT is successful with the load.
Mapping of TXTMD to 0TXTMD is working well as follows:
    R/3 Description:  FOIL RG N#09 GOLD 2 3/8" GA:50 F/PP. ROL to
    BW Decsription: FOIL RG N ¶09 GOLD 2 3/8" GA:50 F/PP. ROL
0TXTMD is "attribute only" flagged on the general tab.
ZMATERIAL is defined with attribute 0NAME40 as set as a NAV attribute.
    Content release 2.0/02 for 0NAME40
    Content release 3.0/02 for 0TXTMD
I can determine no reason for the difference in handling by the  separate DTP's from PSA/ datasource to Infoobject.
Workaround is the manual cleansing of the PSA record to remove the # character.
    Thank You ...... Dan

But I am not able to check the box because its disabled
and the conversion exit MATN1 is already maintained in 0material and evne i can find it in communication structure

  • About delta loading for master data attribute

    Hi all,
We have a master data attribute loading failed which is a delta loading. I have to fix this problem but I have two questions:
    1. how can I find the those delta requests because I need to delete all these failed requests first, am I right ? Master data is not like cube or ods that we can find the requests in Manage, for master data how can we find them ?
    2. Could you please let me know the detailed procedures to perform this delta loading again ?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi...
    1. how can I find the those delta requests because I need to delete all these failed requests first, am I right ? Master data is not like cube or ods that we can find the requests in Manage, for master data how can we find them ?
Look.....for master data.....no need to delete request from the target..........just make the status red.......and repeat the load.....But problem is that master data sometimes does'nt support Repeat delta..........if u repeat......then load will again fail with Update mode R.........in that case u hav to do re-init.......
    1) delete the init flag.......(In the IP scheduler >> in the top Scheduler tab >> Initialization option for source system)
    2) Init with data transfer(if failed load picks some records)..........otherwise .....init without data transfer.....if the last delta failed picking 0 records.......
    3) then Delta.......
    2. Could you please let me know the detailed procedures to perform this delta loading again ?
    1) Make the QM status red.........to set back the init pointer.......
    2) Repeat the load.....
After that.........if again load failed with Update mode R.....
    1) delete the init flag.......
    2) Init with data transfer(if failed load picks some records)..........otherwise init without data transfer.....
    3) then Delta.......

  • Attaching Attributes to Image For Loading to SharePoint Document Library

We currently have a need to create a searchable document library which will consist solely of images. The standard metadata for a file/image won't suffice in this case. We have some custom attributes that will need to be searchable.
Essentially, we will have a library of receipt images for expense reporting purposes. We get these images from a third party who handles all of our expense reporting. There are two large zipped files we receive: one file contains all the actual expense report
"data" that was processed that day(amount, date, client, job, etc.) and the second file contains all the receipt images for those expense report items. Each data file contains data for individual expense reports, and each expense report is assigned
a unique ID. Each line item in an expense report is also assigned a unique ID. Lastly, each receipt image for a line item of a specific expense report is also assigned a unique ID.
The zipped image file only contains images. There is a main image file - this contains several smaller zipped files. Each of the smaller zipped files contains all receipt images for a specific expense report. Each image file name is comprosed of three parts:
The expense report identifier, the unique image identifier, and the expense report line item identifier.
So, to put this all into perspective:
On Thursday, we received an image file named extract_images_p006320452r3_20140904171423
This file contained images for the following unique expense reports:
The compressed file 95FB8C488519427793FC contains the following receipt images:
The "data" file - as mentioned before - contains the actual info about the expense and image. These include: date of transaction, date approved, vendor, amount. GL code, type, function, client, project, billable or not, and several other attributes.
All of this information - including the location of the images - is stored in a SQL Server database and then placed in an SSAS cube.
The images are related back to the underlying data via the expense report id, and line item id.
What I need to be able to do is to somehow "tag" these images with all their underlying attributes, load then into a SharePoint document library, and make them searchable.
I have already figured out that I would need to create several SharePoint lists based on the available values in my OLAP cube (essentially a dataset each for clients, vendors, etc.). The part I have no idea how to accomplish is how to tag each image with
    its respective information.
All the pertinent info is stored in the database tables, just don't know how to attach it to each image.
Hopefully, this made some kind of sense. If anyone has any idea on how to even remotely accomplish such a thing, your input would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!
    A. M. Robinson

You will have to develop a custom solution to do this. I am assuming you have taken the first steps to define separate document libraries for the expense reports and images along with site columns and contenttypes. You would define the site columns based
on the data you want to search on and assign these to corresponding contenttypes. So basically a contenttype for expense reports and receipts possibly. You would link the two contenttypes using the expense report id.
Your custom solution would have to break apart the zip files and upload and index (set site column data) for each file. Then the user could search on the expense report id and get all the files associated with the expense report.
An alternative could be to use one document library and have all the files uploaded into their own document set (folder).

  • Create, Load, & Assign Attribute using Notepad + Outline Load Utility

Hi all, I have a requirement that I need to create a new attribute and then assign to many different members. Since there are so many members, I believe the best way to do this is to process this dynamically in notepad or wordpad through Outline Load Utility.
This is the normal way how I would do it manually in Planning:
    1. Let's say this is my outline in Planning. "1000-X" is the base member where I will be assigning the new attribute to. And many more siblings to "1000-X" will be assigned with the same attribute:
    http://i.imgur.com/U6d1i.jpg
    2. So I changed the data type of "1000-X" to Stored. I highlighted "Entities". I created the new attribute named "Company".
    http://imgur.com/Kg2oe
    3. I have selected base member "1000-X" -> Edit -> then assign the new attribute to "Company". So that's done for a single member. However, keep in mind, I still have many more members to assign the new attribute to. I want to do this much quicker through dynamic way so I'm not sure if I have to go through this process. Maybe this could be alternated by creating it in notepad/wordpad?
    http://i.imgur.com/lg9G6.jpg
Now, my question is, if I want to just type up everything in notepad/wordpad for assigning the new attribute "Company" to a massive amount of members. How would that structure look?
I was reading this but I'm still a bit confused about how the structure should be formatted when it gets more complex:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/HyperionPlanning/entry/attributes_loading_and_assigning_attributes
So basically there are 2 files: Attribute Load file and Entity Metadata Load file
Now, this is my Attribute Load file. Can someone help me to verify my work?
    http://i.imgur.com/fnT8I.jpg
    =========
    Parent, Office
    Office,Office
    =========
Next, here is the Entity Metadata Load file I created:
    http://i.imgur.com/wrSt9.jpg
    =============================
    Parent,Entity,Company
    "Total Non-Admin","Total Admin","Department XYZ - A & B & C", "Department X","TOtal Administration","USA","Operation XYZ","Operation X","1000-X"
    =============================
Apparently, there's something wrong with it so correct me. Thanks for taking time reading this.
    - N

I think Outline Load Utility needs .CSV files as the source files. See below format that loads fine.
    Parent,<Base Dim Name (Entity)>,<Data Storage>,<Alias: Default>,<Attr Dim 1>,<Attr Dim 2>,<Attr Dim 3>
    All Entites,Entity,Store,,,,
    Entity_1,All Entities,Store,,,,
    Entity_1_1,Entity_1,Store,,<Attr Dim 1_Member_1>,<Attr Dim 2_Member_2>,<None>
    Entity_1_2,Entity_1,Store,,<None>,<Atter Dim 2_Member_2>,<None>
Note: Attribute assignments must be of the same level in the base dimensions. It may let you assign but will get error during the refresh.
    Thanks,
    KK

  • Can i load transactional Data from ge DS without having load M Data before

    Hello,
I want to load transactional data from a generic data source.
I just want to know whether it would be successful, after the master data of 0material i load in the PSA couldn't be loaded in the infoObject (000000XXXXXXX -> material number error) by the DTP (see Thread BI - BI general - User arnaud).
If i can load the transactional data without having loaded the master data in the info Object, is it possible that it loads also the master data simultaneous.
Thank you very much for helping
    AR.

Loading transactions before master data can result in data elements not being populated in the InfoProvider in some cases, hence the "Best Practice" recommendation to load master data first.
For example, if you have update/transformation rules that go read master data to get additional data to enhance the transactional data, or you map master data attributes  during the transaction load, the master data attributes could be missing values if you don't load master data first.
