0ORGUNIT variable doesn't return a hierarchy node

Hi Gurus,
I'd like to use 0ORGUNIT variable based on 0ORGUNIT characteristic to let my managers see only those employees there're responsible for. I am using 0ORGEH hierarchy.
The variable seems to work fine, but it returns only a single value for 0ORGUNIT, not a hierarchy node.
Does anyone know why is that and what should I do to make it work?
Regards,
Dorota

Ok, solved my problem.
I've created Customer Exit variable and copied the SAP-Exit code to ZXRSRU01 include of EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 FM.
Then added one row:
ls_range-high = '0ORGUNIT'.
And everything works just fine

  • RetrieveLimitedHierTreeCommand doesn't return all hierarchi nodes

    Hi:
I have tested with RetrieveLimitedHierTreeCommand  to obtain whole hierarchy tree.
It returns only part of tree. tree. For example,  I have a node that has 12 children and this command returns only 6 of them.
I got the root Record node with this
    HierNode hierNode = hierTreeCommand.getTree();
    and traverse tree recursively.
But, I am not getting whole tree but part of it.
    Did anyone try this command?

  • Initial JNDI context doesn't return the root node

    Hi :
I just deployed a java application on Netweaver CE 7.2, when the application starts up, the code is trying to perform a JNDI bind and lookup operations by calling " Context context = new Initialcontext(), context.bind(), context.lookup("...)", the problem is that the initial context returned is not the root context (i.e. "/"), it's something like "webcontainer/applications/vendor-name/application-name/module-name/...." etc.. This is a problem for us because our application is consisted of multiple ears with multiple modues(wars) inside each ear, each module needs to publish a set of services as JNDI entries and those services (JNDI entries) need to be accessible to other ears or modules, which means they have to be published under some public directory (for exmaple the root directory), it can NOT be published under the current context of the current module.
So,  my questions is, is there a way to make the "new Initialcontext()" to return the root directory, perhaps by changing the deployment descriptor or configuration settings somewhere? thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi,
Add this code to the <i>wdDoModifyView()</i> method:
    IWDRoadMap rdMap = (IWDRoadMap) view.getElement("<id of the RoadMap UI>");
    rdMap.mappingOfOnSelect().addSourceMapping("step","selectedStep");
Edit the StepSelected action to add a parameter called "<i>selectedStep</i>" of type String. After this the signature for the action handler will look like:
public void onActionStepSelected(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent, String selectedStep )
Inside the action handler you can access the selected step simply as "<i>selectedStep</i>".

  • BW-Hierarchy node variable in Crystal Report

    Hi crystal gurus,
I am creating a report on top of BW-Query Using SAP toolbar. We are having a Hierarchy node variable for WBS Element in our Bw-Query.
Now that hierarchy node variable is not behaving properly in crystal reports.
When I execute Query at BW side it Provides me with proper result, say for example if i execute the query for a WBS element "X" and that element consists of other elements inside it like A, B, C etc then at BW side it gives me proper data considering all the WBS elements but in Crystal reports the Data returned is just for the Specified WBS element, i.e it return me data specific to WBS element "X" only.
Any Ideas why this is happening and how to resolve this?
    Any help will be Appreciated.
    Thanks & regards
    Neeraj

    Hi Debi,
thank you very much for your reply, but i am afraid that you may have misunderstood my Question.
Actually I am using a hierarchy node variable, and as usual that hierarchy node has certain level. so when i m executing the report in CR say for node value/level  L1 then it provides me data specific for the node L1 only but logically it should provide me with data of node L1 and all other nodes below L1& that is not happening in my case. while whenever i m executing the same report with same values at BW Side it provides me proper result I.E. it provides me data for node L1 and all other nodes below it.
Hope this makes my Ques clear.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Hierarchy node variable - successor node data not displayed

    Hello,
I have a query with a hierarchy in the ‘rows’ section. This hierarchy is restricted by a hierarchy node variable with the following settings: variable type ‘hierarchy node’; customer exit; single value; mandatory; not ready for input; cannot be changed in query navigation.
The customer exit correctly supplies the node. However, only data for THIS node is displayed in the query results. And data for successor/underlying nodes is NOT displayed.
    I tried several things, including:
    - rightclick ‘Rows’ > ‘Display as a Hierarchy’
    - customer exit variable: multiple values instead of single value; optional instead of mandatory
In the ‘Hierarchy Attributes’ for the hierarchy, nothing is checkmarked, except for Root/Totals Item Appears Above’ and ‘Drilldown start level = 00’. The hierarchy and its nodes are valid from 01.07.2005 to 31.12.9999.
I have a feeling in what area the solution can be found, but I have no clue what to do further on with it. As a test I replaced the customer exit variable with a user entry variable. If I then execute the query, I can select either the ‘node’ or the ‘value’ (both with the same technical value!). If I select the node, I get all data, including data for successor nodes. If I select the value, I only get the data for the node, not the underlying successor nodes. For some reason, the customer exit variable behaves like the latter and not like the first. I do not know how to solve this.
I would greatly appreciate if you could help me out of this issue here.
    Kind regards,
    Frank

    Hi,
no, it doesn't. It just returns the data for the node and not for the underlying nodes.

  • Issue with hierarchy node variable and multiple SAP hierarchies

    Hello experts,
We are currently facing an issue when using two SAP hierarchies in Web Intelligence and one of them is restricted with a hierarchy node variable.
The systems we use are a SAP BI 7.01 (SPS 05) and a Business Objects Enterprise XI R3.1 SP2 (fix pack 2.3). I want also to point out that the fix pack 2.3 has been applied to all BOE related components: the SAP integration Kit, client tools, and enterprise (server and client).
The universe used in our scenario is based on a BEX Query with two hierarchies (non-time dependent hierarchies, intervals allowed) loaded on their corresponding characteristics. One of these characteristics is restricted with a hierarchy node variable (manual input, optional, ready for input, multiple single values allowed).
    Prerequisites for replicating the problem:
    1)     When building the web intelligence query select several levels from both hierarchies (they have seven levels each) and    the   only amount of the InfoCube that the BEX query (that was used to create our universe) relies on.
    2)     In the hierarchy node variable prompt select a hierarchy node entry (not an actual InfoObject value that exists as transactional data in the InfoCube )
By executing the query built above, all characteristics are returned null (no value) and the key figure with value u201C0u201D. No error messages, no partial results warnings.  Now if we go back to u201CEdit queryu201D and select levels of only one of any of the two hierarchies the query runs normally (by selecting the exact same value for the hierarchy node variable prompt).
    Any ideas on the matter?
    Regards,
    Giorgos

    Hi,
Have you ever got a solution for this problem?

  • Variable-hierarchy node

    Hi
I have to create a query.I got some doubts regarding the usage of variables in the query.
1.Suppose if my query is using a characteristic(selection) variable, what difference will it make if I use a hierarchy node variable in that place?
2.If I am using a Characteristic(selection) variable inorder to input lowest leaf level values in a hierarchy, what difference can it make if I use a hierarchy node variable in its place?
    Thanks alot for your advice.
    Regards.

Hierarchy node variables are useful as they select the node and all the nodes below.  To make this selection with chararteristic selection you may have to enter alot of values.
Also a user doesnt need to know all the nodes below,
    say for example:
You have a variable on 0EMPLOYEE and a hierarchy ZLOCATION.  A hierarchy node variable could be created grouping the users by country,  then simply entering node "UK" returns all employees for users in the UK.
Basicly if you are using a hierarchy display on the inofobject it makes sense to use a hierarchy node variable.

  • No Query Result After Using Hierarchy Node Variable (Customer Exit)

    Hi
I have problem at my query. It doesn't show anything in BEx but when i check the data in BW using tcode LISTCUBE i can display the data.
This problem happen when i change the restrictions for one of characteristic in filter value.
The characteristic is custom Infoobject (ZCPARTNER), which like Infoobject Partner Unit.
Previously I set the restriction with constant value, example : A500,A700,A710,A720,A730,A740 and it worked before.
But when I change it using hierarchy node variable (customer exit), this problem is arise.
Here is my code at ZXRSRU01
WHEN 'ZHIEPART'. --> hierarchy node variable
       BREAK-POINT.
        IF i_step = 2.
        Read from ZZCONSGR information

    Hi Satria,
    Instead of following code ---
    CLEAR l_s_range-low.
    IF loc_var_range-low EQ '000000000000030000'
    OR loc_var_range-low EQ '000000000000010130'.

    OR loc_var_range-low EQ '000000000000010160'.
    l_s_range-low = 'MEZBUNITMPI'.
    l_s_range-high = '0HIER_NODE'.
    ENDIF.
    try this ---
    IF loc_var_range-low EQ '000000000000030000'
    OR loc_var_range-low EQ '000000000000010130'.

    OR loc_var_range-low EQ '000000000000010160'.
    l_s_range-low = 'MEZBUNITMPI'.

Note : whenver the option is EQ, the system takes only low value.

  • Customer Exit variable on Hierarchy Node

    Hello Experts
I am in the process of creating a Customer Exit variable on a Hierarchy node. This will be populated at run time based on the value of a Characteristic variable.
The Hierarchy is activated and included in the roes of the report. I would like the end result to be exactly the same as it would if I had manually entered a variable in Hierarchy node variable
I have written exits before for Characteristic variables, however, I am unable to get this to work for Hierarchy Node variables. Please find below the code I have prepared so far. I follow the approach of creating a seperate executable program for each Customer Exit variable. This Program will be called by the Exit.
    DATA: l_s_range TYPE rrrangesid.
      DATA:l_s_var_range TYPE rrrangeexit.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS : <fs_var_range> TYPE rrrangeexit.
      IF i_step = 2.
        READ TABLE i_t_var_range
        ASSIGNING <fs_var_range>
WITH KEY vnam = 'ZMO_WBS_LVL2'.  " Characteristic variable
        IF sy-subrc = 0.
          l_s_range-low = <fs_var_range>-low.
         l_s_range-high = '0HIER_NODE'.*
          l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
          l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
          APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
        endif.
      endif.
I would be obliged if anyone can help me understand what is being overlooked. The Query is presently returning "No Applicable data found"
    Thanks in advance

  • Variable for hierarchy node using in authorization

    Hi all,
    I have the following problem:
When I create a variable for a hierarchy node and I use it for the authorization, I have the possibility to say, that a user can see all elements under a node.
But it should now be possible, that the user can also see the usage of this node bottom-up ( multi-level usage of this node ).
    Is there a possibilty ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I would suggest you provide more details than just "doesn't work". In addition keep in mind that this is a forum and not an official support channel. In case you need a faster response you should talk to the support team.

  • SEM-BPS: Variables of type hierarchy node user exit

    Hi,
I read the "How to.." document "Variables of Type Exit".
This document has example for variable type caracteristic.
I need to use this kind of solution for global variables:
I have the same variables in several planning areas. I have defined one ‘leading’ area containing the variable that should automatically set/adjust the corresponding variables in the other planning areas.
I've created a SEM variable of type hierarchy node and with the replacement type user exit. There is a standard function module API_SEMBPS_VARIABLE_GETDETAIL which has to provide the selected hierarchy node in leading area to other areas.
The function works ideally in test mode, but it doesn't work as the SEM user exit.
Does anyone have experience in this problem?
    Thanks

Your function module shall follow the expected interface (required for exit type). Function API_SEMBPS_VARIABLE_GETDETAIL is not for such usage.
To see an example FM that is fit for a 'user exit' processing for hierarchy node, have a look at FM UPF_VARIABLE_USER_EXIT_HIER. There is inline documentation in the source code that shall help you create your own FM if required.

  • Hierarchy Node Variable search (find) option not working

Hi Experts - I have created a hierarchy node varibale on a fixed hierarchy. When user run the report and click on hierarchy node variable selection option , A new window will pop up which has all the nodes.
As the list is quite big and has many levels , On the same pop up , we have find option , when we enter any node in the find box , its always give a ABAP Dump , It never works for me...
Is node find/search in not working in Bi 7.0 .

  • How to pass a hierarchy node variable value over OpenDocument?

    Hello,
I have been unable to link to an instance with matching parameters with opendocument with hierarchy node variables.
Has anyone attempted this or been successful?
Please reference this post I had in the Web Intelligence forum.  sInstance=Param not working for sap bw query based reports (FWM 02020)
    Here's some background information
We've created 2 new crystal reports based of sap queries.
Report 1, single prompt, no hierarchy.
Result : Can link to specific instance with matching parameters. Great!
Report 2, single prompt, hierarchy based.
Result: Cannot link to specific instance with matching parameters
    Parameter list for report 2
    [!V000001} : Cost Center/Gr{oup (Multiple) = {0COSTCENTER XXXXXXXX.BGT3}.{XXXXXXXXX.BGT3 0HIER_NODE} - XXX, XXX & XXX
However when I go into the history and look at the successful instance parameters used, it seems to be picking up an extra parameter ( my guess is node)
    XXX, XXX & XXX; {0COSTCENTER XXXXXXXX.BGT3}.{XXXXXXXXX.BGT3 0HIER_NODE} - XXX, XXX & XXX
We have attempted to use the entire string, the first portion, second portion, and just the technical response. No luck.
Any help or pointers would be appreciated!
    Nick

    Hello  Ingo,
I'll explain the situation more clearly,
Report 2, single prompt, hierarchy based.
Result: Cannot link to specific instance with matching parameters with a response from the Bus Objects server
An error has occurred: The object with ID -1 does not exist in the CMS or you don't have the right to access it (FWM 02020)
We have 1 parameter for report 2
    {!V000001} : Cost Center/Group (Multiple)
    We selected a single value:
    {0COSTCENTER XXXXXXXX.BGT3}.{XXXXXXXXX.BGT3 0HIER_NODE} - XXX, XXX & XXX
(The XXX, XXX, & XXX is the description)
    We ran a successful instance.
However when I go into the history and look at the successful instance parameters used it displays the following:
    XXX, XXX & XXX; {0COSTCENTER XXXXXXXX.BGT3}.{XXXXXXXXX.BGT3 0HIER_NODE} - XXX, XXX & XXX
An extra description seems to appear (The first XXX, XXX & XXX;) Our original selection was only {0COSTCENTER   XXXXXXXX.BGT3}.{XXXXXXXXX.BGT3 0HIER_NODE} - XXX, XXX & XXX
We attempted to build variations of the open document strings
    1. We tried the entire parameter response,
    XXX, XXX & XXX; {0COSTCENTER XXXXXXXX.BGT3}.{XXXXXXXXX.BGT3 0HIER_NODE} - XXX, XXX & XXX
    2. The first description that was not part of the original selection,
    XXX, XXX & XXX
    3. The technical name and description
    {0COSTCENTER XXXXXXXX.BGT3}.{XXXXXXXXX.BGT3 0HIER_NODE} - XXX, XXX & XXX
    4. The technical name
    {0COSTCENTER XXXXXXXX.BGT3}.{XXXXXXXXX.BGT3 0HIER_NODE}
Please let me know if you need more details.

  • Exclude a hierarchy node by using exit variable (not in query designer)

    Hi gurus!!
I have a hierarchy for the infoObject 0COSTELMNT. Depending on the user who executes the report, the node '0599ADJUSTMENTS' must be displayed or not.
I am trying to solve it by using an exit variable:
    Varible Type: Hierarchy Node
    Processing : Exit
On the exit, I have entered the following code:
          IF ( sy-subrc = 0 ).
              l_s_range-sign = 'E' .
              l_s_range-opt  = 'EQ' .
              l_s_range-low = 'AJUSTES'.
              APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
         ENDIF.
    But unfortunately does no work!!
    Any ideas?
