I've been kicking this around for a couple of days and all the solutions that I found are not similar to my case. I did all the repairs that I had found and nothing works. I can send most e-mails but when I send an e-mail with a picture in the body it gives
me this error 0x800CCC0F

Hi SyTek,
As you said, sometimes MS-Outlook does not allow you to send emails (attachment of images), so first look at third party firewall programs because these kinds of software create disturbance in sending and receiving of emails. Apart
from it, also check the internet settings (or if there is a need, then contact with your ISP).

Yes there is probably a problem with the Yahoo servers prematurely timing out. But the originator of the thread was looking for some advice on alleviating their problem. The size of the email,  timeout settings, firewall, virus scanning and connection speed all potentially have a bearing on the issue.  So the advice given is valid but depending on circumstances may be more or less effective.

  • Getting Send/Receive Error (0x800CCC0F) in Outlook all of a sudden

Hello all, did a search and didn't find the error below listed here, sooooooo: Yesterday afternoon I suddenly started to get this error when using Outlook to get my Verizon emails.  Oddly enough, this was just after the Stock Market came back online!  :-) This is the error I am getting: ... Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted.  If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' Problem comes and goes, and effects different addresses at different times.  I didn't change any settings and everything worked just fine in the morning.  Wondering if it is just something happening with the Verizon servers?

I'm getting the same error ID and a similar message using Windows Live Mail: Unable to send or receive messages for the 04Verizon (xxxxx) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Server: 'pop.verizon.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
    Protocol: POP3
    Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes It's intermittent.  Sometimes the connection is normal.  Other times it isn't.   Same thing with different type devices and different ISP's. I hope Verizon is aware of this issue and working on fixing it.

  • Exchange 2013 POP3 and IMAP connectivity issues 0x800CCC0F

    Hi all,
there's an Exchange 2013 server running without problems during "regular" use, but when it comes to POP3 and/or IMAP (we really need that for some systems), everything is fine until there's a message with an attachment of about 100kb or more.
We can poll messages with smaller attachments without problem, but bigger sizes won't work.
So for testing I tried POP3 within Outlook Express, it gives Error 0x800CCC0F
Telnet to TCP110 simply breaks up the connection when I try "retr"
IMAP shows those messages as "to be deleted", but they are accesible within OWA.
Test-PopConnectivity (also for IMAP) runs smoothly and successfully.
Firewall is opened for all connections.
Problem is and has always been there. The server is updated to the newest SP/updates.
I tried both 110/143 and corresponding SSL - no difference.
Pop3 and Imap logging shows no errors
There's Trend Micro Messaging Security installed, but has been disabled for testing - no difference. (Issue has been there before installation of TM)
So, any ideas how to fix this? I'd appreciate...
    Thanks in advance,
    Robert

  • Cannot send email via Hotmail through port 587 with Secure Connection (SSL) set

Something is blocking my attempts to send email (with Outlook Express) via my hotmail.com account. The error I receive is as follows:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
When Hotmail.com first changed over to a POP3 server (Sept 2009), I could send emails through them using port 587, which they require. But then something happened, with no changes on my part, to disable my ability to send.
I have checked and rechecked my Outlook Express account settings. I can send email through another third-party mail account (at 1&1 Internet.com) using port 587, which does not require setting SSL to yes. I can also ping the Hotmail SMTP server via port 587 and receive a response from it.
I connect to Verizon DSL via a Westell 327W modem/router. Clearly it is not blocking port 587 without SSL. Does it have the capability to block SSL traffic? Or is the Verizon server the culprit, not allowing emails to be sent via Hotmail.com?
Two different computers on my LAN have the same problem sending emails via Hotmail.com. I have tried everything the Hotmail people have suggested; at this point they think it is an ISP problem, hence this post. This problem doesn't make sense to me and is driving me crazy. Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks.

You can still have your reply address set to your hotmail address. And you don't have to really remember to do anything. Configure your client for the HOTMAIL account with Verizon's outgoing server. It will automatically send via Verizon. You don't reveal your verizon.net address, you are just using their server to transmit.

  • Intermittent Email Send Failures

I am using "smtp.verizon.net" for sending out emails via Outlook Express and about
half the time I get the following failure notice:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: {edited for privacy}, Server: 'smtp.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
If I try again it eventually works.
But it is rather annoying and not a problem I had with other services.
Is there any fix for this?
Is there any customer support out there?

    This is peer to peer.
Curious.  Are you a business customer.  You mention @ synapse.
tns (retired IT guy, never a verizon employee)
ps:  Possibly you just need to increase the timeout value.  Can also occur if a antivirus program is taking to long analysing a message.

  • Can't send email in Windows Mail

On May 12th I was unable to send emails under Windows mail.  It would come back with an error message of  "0X800CCC0F".  In my account I'm using (POP3) incoming.yahoo.verizon.net and (SMTP) outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net.
My SMTP port is 25 and my POP3 port is 110.  I receive emails but can't send any.  If I go to Verizon's email site I can send myself emails and receive them.  I don't like Verizon's setup so I've used Windows Mail with Vista and Outlook with Windows ME without any problems.  I've tried changing port numbers and checking and unchecking SSl and SPA until I'm not quite sure where I was originally.  Something must have changed 5 days ago but I not sure how to fix it.  Any suggestions would be most gratefully received.

Glad to know I'm not the only one.  Around the same date I began having the same issues (right after Microsoft installed updates).  I use Vista and have had this problem ONLY with Verizon ISP every month, at least once a month.  This time, it hasn't stopped since the 12th.
Due to this, I finally gave up and ran the Verizon In Home Agent, which Norton suggested I do not do.  I should have listened to Norton.  The IHA lists that I have two Outlook email address, both of which are the same.  I checked my Outlook and I only have one listed.  BUT, since I used the IHA I now receive emails twice and can't send any at all unless I use Webmail.  The IHA says there are no problems with my email, but I still can't send.
If you figure out the resolution to this, I'd love to know....and I will definitely try the link to Microsoft that someone already listed.  I can't use the Windows Mail or Outlook to send.

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
For starters, the recommendation by many people is to uninstall BT Desktop help.
If this has always been the case, rather than a sporadic issue, then it could be an account problem that seems to plague some accounts - and has done for years. Hopefully the changeover from Yahoo! to Critical Path will cure this particular issue. Try the other settings mentioned by Keith.
Even though some accounts are fine, there is still a possibility that your local security software can interfere. For example if you have email scanning turned on - then this can be turned off to see if that helps.

Un-check the "Get folder unread count for subscribed folders"
Under Received mail items, check the option "User the custom behavior defined below"
In the window below that displays your Gmail folders just select inbox and leave the others unchecked
Click Ok and then exit out of options and perform a send/receive to test if it is now working
    This worked for me.

  • Outlook problem from an absolute beginner

A friend has sent us a mail which has photos. It is about 8mb. It successfully appeared on our Yahoo account (why does everything on our Outlook duplicate here?) also to our Gmail account but has NEVER arrived via Outlook - which we habitually use. I do know that Yahoo and Gmail are webmail and guess that this may have something to do with it - but we don't normally use these and want Outlook to work properly! We are now getting regular messages when we send/receive which say 'Receiving repeated error 0x800CCC0F: the connection to the server was interrupted. If this persists please contact your ISP'.
    1. How do I contact our ISP?
    2. Our Broadband is remarkably slow. Is it just not capable of downloading big mails in some kind of predetermned time?
    3. Is there some way of altering Outlook so that larger mails can get to me?
I guess I may look pretty dim by asking these questions but I really do not have a starting point!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yahoo and Gmail accounts can be accessed as webmail using a browser where you pick up your emails direct from their servers.  You can then get them from there using an email client like Outlook which downloads the emails from the yahoo or Gmail servers to your PC.  There seems to be a problem at the moment with yahoo servers that causes large email downloads to timeout before they are completely downloaded by email clients like Outlook particularly if you have a slowish broadband connection.
    In answer to your questions:
    1. Contacting your ISP is probably a waste of time.
    2. Probably YES.
    3. You could try increasing the Timeout period in the server section of your Account details of your email account in Outlook but this seems not to be successful for some people.
The best advice at the moment is to download the photo attachments using webmail and then move the corresponding email to a new folder on webmail so that Outlook does not attempt to download it.  Or if you do not want to keep the email delete it.

  • Windows live does not receive emails

Windows Live works fine on my family computer.
Windows Live does not receive emails from my btinternet account on my laptop any more (it sends ok I think)
This happened in March. After talking to someone in India the other day who suggested that my laptop did not have enough RAM (not so), I eventually managed to uninstall WLive, reinstalled, then used the automatic set up on BT and called the account a new name. IT WORKED...all my emails turned up on Windows Live. Then it STOPPED WORKING again.
I honestly cannot fathom this. Any ideas????
(I have just tried using the automatic set up again, using the same account name, but it just says that the account already exists).
    Errors are in essence:
    0x800CCC90
    ERR inactivity timeout
    WLive error 0x800420CD
    WLive mail error 0x800CCC0F
I got the automatic tester to test email account, but no fault found.
All suggestions gratefully received. I had no luck last time I tried on this Forum, but giving it another go.

    Hi.
I personally never let the "system" set up email automatically, it doesn't always get the servers or ports correct.
However, what you could try is to login to webmail in case there is a stuck/corrupt email in the Inbox. You can move them to a temporary online folder and retry Windows Mail. If that works, you can try moving one email at a time into the webmail Inbox.
Do you keep all the emails on the server by the way ?

    Hi All
New to this - my first post so apologies if I'm asking the obvious!
I used to be with Tiscali as service provider and continue to use my Tiscali e-mail addy and check it on Tiscali webmail page.
Tonight I decided to set it up on Windows Mail. Can receive my e-mails but cannot send. I'm getting this error message -
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'Re: xxx', Account: 'home', Server: 'smtp.tiscali.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
I know Tiscali is having a few problems at the mo but I can send using the webmail page.
I have a feeling I am having trouble since I changed to BT as my provider as months back, before I changed, I seem to remember it being ok?
Can anyone tell me if I need to amend the server details? Currently using pop.tiscali.co.uk as incoming and smtp.tiscali.co.uk as outgoing?

    Hi.
In order to send emails "from" your Tiscali email address (whilst it's still working) you need to alter the smtp server to mail.btinternet.com. Receiving is fine as you've noticed.
You will then almost certainly get a 553 error message (address verification), in which case pop along to my shortcuts option 0e.
