0xc0000022 Error when attempting to open, but works in safe mode

Hello All,
I have had an issue opening IE and Firefox from my laptop computer for a few months now...When I click on IE to open a browser window it appears to initiate, the window opens, stays white, show the mouse icon like it is calculating something and then it disappears...on the flip side if I click on the Firefox icon the browser window never appears and I get an error message stating 0xc0000022. I have tried everything I can to remedy this issue from uninstalling firefox and IE from my machine and re-installing to making sure profile folders, etc have been deleted after an un-install of firefox. I did notice that if I go to RUN and attempt to access the firefox profile manager that I get the same error code popping up.
I believe it has something to do with a system update, thinking microsoft update from around August. With that being said I have gone in and removed every update I saw from August and still no luck. Not sure if it helps, but I did notice that I had installed (automatically) the 2975719 microsoft update, which was on a list of not ones you want....
I would appreciate any help I can get to have both of these browsers operate once again! I am currently using Chrome (which I was able to install after all of this began), but I really need the other browsers for testing for my job, so again any help would be greatly appreciated!
Using Sony Vaios laptop and Windows 8.1...
Firefox works fine when in safe mode (with and without networking). I have also tried to disable graphics acceleration and nothing seems to work.

I wonder whether anyone has good documentation or a good comparison tool for Windows Safe Mode vs. regular mode? Microsoft's help article isn't really that helpful:

One possibly useful tool would be Autoruns, which lists what starts automatically and allows you to disable things. You can find it on Microsoft's site here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
Based on experience in the Windows XP days, I don't have much confidence in Windows' System Restore feature, so I'm not sure whether to suggest it in this case. If you are inclined to try it, please make a backup of your Firefox settings because that folder will get rolled back, which could cause data loss (e.g., recent bookmarks, history, etc.). ITunes does not respond when opening, but works in safe mode

Hey there
So over the last two days or so, my ITunes (Latest version 11.1.4.) on MacBook Pro opens fine but then as soon as I click whatever, it gets stuck on the spinning wheel. I have now read that you can open it in Safe Mode by shift-option-command and click on iTunes on the desktop, which works fine, but is not the ultimate solution.
Would you please have any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this?

b noir, just to confirm - the "Quartz Composer Visualizer.bundle" is working very well on my Mavericks MBP with 11.1.4. Only the Music Visualizers bundles, that need iTunes to run 32bit mode, will no longer run in iTunes 11.1.4., e.g. the iVisualize bundle and the visualizers "Be Composed", etc.
Perhaps is something in the iTunes Visualizer folder, that uses quartz filters requiring advanced features of the graphics card, and therefore disabled in Safe Mode.

Well, just for the halibut I tried opening the book again today and , GLORY BE!, it worked.
Guess it may have taken overnight for Adobe to OK my license to their free ADE software. Also works now using Bluefire app as the reader on my android phone, although it was a pain
to get the book file in the right file folder for bluefire to see it.
I hope that time also heels the issue with all other Error Getting License users.

Itunes application error when attempting to open for first time. HELP

Running windows xp pro, just bought new ipod classic, installed itunes software. When attempting to open for first time i get an itunes.exe - application error, error message that reads "The instruction at "0x100001040" referenced memory at "0x100001040". The memory could not be "read". Click ok to terminate the propgram. Click on CANCEL to debug the program. I have tried re-installing several times, cleaned temp etc. Nothing. Please help, i really want to start using my new ipod.

You have to unhide your library folder and adjust the user permissions to allow write access.

Error when attempting to open Numbers file

I have Numbers v2.2.2 running on IOS and v3.2.2 on OSX 10.9.4. and I am getting an error message when trying to open file: "Spreadsheet can't be imported. Document was created with an unsupported version" The file which was stored on iCloud had been previously opened several times in the past 24 hours with both an iPad and iMac.

In a correctly formed document we get
index.xml.gz or index.xml
some times we get an odd index-new.xml
Just rename it as index.xml.
In other cases, the document is dead.
Nobody would be able to return the disapeared file.
An efficient way to get this result is to store a document on a network and give access to several users.

What kind of file? Have you tried setting an application to open it in Get Info?

Search Bar doesn't work in normal itunes but works in safe mode

I am not sure if anyone else is having this problem but with Itunes 11.0.4 The Search bar doesn't work no matter what you type any result you get you click on it nothing happens. I recently went into Itunes Safe mode and the Search bar works fine. I really hope Itunes fixes this with the next update.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I've found a solution!
Uncheck the "search entire library" option in the search bar then check it again.

Kernel Panic at boot but works in safe mode

I am getting a Kernel Panic at boot on the grey screen If I boot safe mode it works fine.
Whats the procedure to find whats cause the problem? Is there a log file I should look at or what is the best way to figure this out

Also check /System/Library/StartupItems & /Library/StartupItems (neither of which is in your home folder) -- any items in them are suspect since none are installed as part of a standard installation of the OS.

Error when attempt to open Photoshop in Windows Vista, "Some of the application components are missi

Using Windows Vista-32. Installed CS4 suite & used Photoshop and other components but randomly one day it stopped working. Clicked to open and received error, "Some of the application components are missing from the application directory, Please reinstall the application."
I uninstalled & reinstalled entire Suite and just Photoshop several times with no success. When I reinstall, I receive error message,

You've done something to your system, or it's possibly gotten a malware infection.
You can't even reinstall Photoshop? Have you tried completely removing it, including running the Creative Suite Removal script?
How recently did it work? Have you tried System Restore?

I receive this error when attempting to open up HP Solutions.

I have an HP Officejet Pro L7590. It worked fine on my previous HP computer with Windows XP PRO. I got an HP computer wiht Windows 7 Pro and updated the driver and it worked as well. At some point I started getting the following message and now can't open the HP Solution Center. I tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling.
I gave up and used my Sony Laptop with Windows 7 Pro and it worked for 2 years but now I have a different message on that computer which I will address if we can fix this one first.

MF Crashes on startup, but works in safe-mode and for a few minutes after making a new user, can anyone help?

After troubleshooting for a few hours, I still cannot find a proper solution. Effectively, I learned that if I create a new profile user, with this command in windows Run: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p , I can open the user profile menu manually, and create/delete a new/not-new user, and upon creating and using a new one, it works fine. For a couple of times opening the browser, anyway, in which it results in the same problem as before. I took a list and compared the old files to a brand new users files, and did find some differences. Take these into effect,
The compatability and extensions .ini files were differed by 3 kb , with a new user being 1, and the old user being 4.
The Local Store .rdf file differed from 2 for a new user, to 4 for an old user.
The Mime Types .rdf file differed from 3 for a new user to 4 for an old user.
Plugin Reg(istry?) .dat differed from 17 new to 20 old.
Search.json differed from 13 new to 16 old.
Search Metadata.json differed from 1 new to 4 old.
URL Classifier Key 3.txt differed from 1 new to 4 old.
Web App Store.sqlite differed from 96 new to 128 old.
(All units are KB)
Seeing as a few articles relating to the problem are "no longer maintained" and the solutions work only temporarily, I came here hoping to fix this little issue. Thank you, and good luck in advance.

Firefox is crashing. It is crashing even when i am opening profile manager and safe mode

Tomorrow i was trying to upgrade my firmware of my phone. So i installed one samsung app called "Samsung Kies" after installing that app my firefox suddenly got crashed.
I am a Mac user using OS X 10.8 and firefox 18.
And when i read article about crashing firefox, i found that making new profile will help me but sadly that also doesn't helped me. When i tried to open the profile manager it got crashed too. now every time when i open firefox it crashes after 2-5 seconds...

Make sure that you do '''not''' check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox [[Profiles|user profile data]] will be removed from your computer.
After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:

* '''(On 64-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox''
#Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".

#Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
#* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the '''Program Files''' folder to open it.
#* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the '''Program Files (x86)''' folder.
#Look for a '''Mozilla Firefox''' folder. If you find one, right-click it and select ''Delete'' and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
#Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
#Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

Firefox 5 works but after installing 6 I get this error when attempting to run it: check details below...

Firefox 5 works fine, but as soon as I install 6 and try to run it, it gives me this error msg:
XML Parsing Error: undefined entity Location: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul Line Number 233, Column 5: <key id="key_scratchpad" keycode="&scratchpad.keycode;" modifiers="shift" ----^
It also tells me during installation that it cannot find updates for Java and Skype extensions.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
*Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
Extensions that do not have a Remove button in the Extensions Manager are installed by other software and need to be disabled or updated via that software.
You can uninstall and remove Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.
