0xE8000024

Am having severe problems with iPod Touch running (or not running) under 6.0.1. iTunes can't see it (error code 0eX8000024); it freezes, locks out, times out and restarts randomly but regularly; apps don't load and/or work; it won't connect to WiFi and it doesn't show any music although iTunes thinks there are 1000's of tunes and stats show there are only 7Gb out of 64Gb free so something is using the space. Following advice from various forums I have updated iTunes; de-authorised and re-authorised the computer (running under Vista); changed USB ports and reset all settings. What's next? Erase All Contents and Settings and hope for the best or stand on the side of a Lake and see how far I can throw it?

Have you tried:

PLEASE HELP ME! My iPod keeps restarting, or turning off, I'm not sure which, but when it does that then it shows the Apple Logo, it will go to the main screen for maybe 1 second, but then it does this cycle over again. It stared lagging at first. It has been doing this for a while now about (almost an hour). It is also unresponsive, I and tried holding down the home and power buttons, but it didn't work. I plugged it in to iTunes and it said it couldn't connect to it and gave me the code 0xE8000024. I have no idea what to do. Oh and I havn't dropped it or anything, I have taken very good care of it. I JUST got it today. I am restoring it right now but as its plugged in it keeps rstarting and showing the Apple logo. Please help!

  • IPhone 3G 2.1 connection error with iTunes 8 on Windows Vista Enterprise

I was previously able to connect my iphone with my work computer (Windows Vista Enterprise) and it would recognize my phone. However, since I updated my iphone to version 2.1, it will not recognize the phone and gives me the following error message:
"iTunes could not connect to the iphone because an unknown error occured (0xE8000024)."
I am able to connect my phone with version 2.1 to my home computer running Windows XP SP2.
Any idea what may be causing the connection error in Windows Vista?

    Hey TranceCadet,
This could be caused by a USB connection issue.
Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to a high speed USB port on the PC and not plugged into a hub, monitor, or keyboard. Disconnect any other USB devices, other than the keyboard and mouse.
This article has some general USB troubleshooting tips: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286
You may also want to disable or reconfigure any security software. This article will walk you through putting the PC in a selective startup mode, which will bypass most application conflicts.

  • No matter what I try, my ipad will not start up

My wife was using her ipad this afternoon when all of a sudden the screen went black.  After a few minutes the apple logo appeared and it has stayed that way, now for several hours.
I have attempted to restart it several times and each time the apple logo appears and then nothing else.
I have charged it for over 30 minutes to ensure that wasn't the problem.  She said it was at about 60% when it went black.
I attempted to connect to itunes, and it will not connect.  Each time after several minutes of it appearing to sync to the ipad I get the following:
iTunes could not connect to this ipad, an unknown error occurred (0xE8000024).
I sure could use some help on this issue.

These are other steps you can follow to restore any data, photos etc. , lost as a result of restoring your device. Hopefully this can help you should you encounter the same problem I did.

  • IPhone unusable after trying to update apps

    Hi there
Last night I noticed my iPhone had a load of apps that needed updating - around 80 or so. I clicked on 'update all' to update them via our home WiFi.  This seemed to take a while and so I left it running/updating whilst I went to bed.  The phone had 100% charge when I went to bed, but when I got up it had dropped to zero and I had to put it in our docking station to get charge.
Now the phone seems to just switch between a blank screen, the apple logo, the little rotating circle of dashes that you see when you switch the phone on/off, or the opening home screen when it says 'slide to unlock'. Trying to slide that does nothing. I can see that the phone has around 60% charge now, but it's still not playing ball and not allowing me access to it, instead just switching between these different things.
Does this mean it's still updating the apps?  I'm not even sure if it's getting to the stage of picking up the home WiFi (it says 'Searching' on the top bar).
I've tried holding down the home and on/off button, and I've tried connecting to my computer ("iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An unknown error has occurred (0xE8000024).")... but have been unable to make progress.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Paul

    Hi Paul
If you have an iCloud backup then you could try restoring your phone. Since you can't connect it in the normal way, you might have to place your phone into recovery mode.
Switch your phone completely off (hold down the home and power buttons until the screen goes completely blank and release), hold down the home button on your phone, plug in your phone to the computer and keep holding the button. iTunes should inform you your iphone is in recovery mode and give you the option to restore.
This will completely wipe your phone so if you don't have an icloud backup try connecting your phone to another computer first to see if it will allow you to back up.
    Good luck!

  • Ipad restore failed

My iPad only has the apple logo occassionally. It comes and goes. My computer iTunes fails to recognize my iPad. I got so far as to start the restore download and after about 20 minutes it failed. My error message is 0xE8000024. Not sure what is happening or if my iPad can be salvaged. I do have a backup in the iCloud, but since I can't make it recognize my device, that isn't doing me much good. Any suggestions? I have already uninstalled iTunes, and re-installed. I have done the two button hold, one button hold, the plug in to the USB while holding down a button. Every trick I can find, but no real answers. Suggestions?

Try recovery mode as described here:
    HT1808
Note you may have to try to get in to recovery mode more than once to succeed.

  • Stock at apple logo and update bar

Hi i just changed a theme in iFile and then i turned off my iPod touch 4G. And when i turned it on then it stock at apple logo and the update bar. So then i tried to connect with iTunes. But i get the error 0xe8000024. Can anyone help me to fix this.

Before taking the following steps, make sure the iPod is plugged into the Mac/PC and completely turned off by holding do the home and sleep buttons down until the screen turns off.
    1) Hold down the power button for 5 seconds
    2) Without taking your finger off the sleep button, hold down the sleep and home buttons for a further 10 seconds
    3) Release the sleep button and continue to hold down the home button for a further 15 seconds
    4) Release all buttons and open iTunes on the computer which the iPod Touch is connected to, if not already open.
    5) Press ok when the message about recovery mode appears
    6) Press the restore button and wait for the whole recovery process to take place.
If these steps did not help you, simply call the apple support line on 0800 048 0408 free of charge and ask the robot for technical support. They will set up a free replace iPod Touch if you are under warranty otherwise they will tell you how much it would cost for a replacement product.

  • Unlocking Iphone through ITunes

    Hey party ppl^^
About 10 days ago I got a text from my Carrier.
"Your iPhone unlocking request has been approved. Please follow the instructions you received to complete the unlocking process"
    The text I got.
"Please back up & restore your Iphone and then Sync the I-Phone with I-Tunes to complete the unlocking process. Thank you"
Now I am going to go through the method I used.
Connect Iphone to computer through USB.
Opened up I-Tunes on my PC and accessed my Iphone.
Under Back up > manually Back Up and Restore> I press "Back Up Now"
Then under iPhone 3GS> "Restore iPhone..." get a Dialog box warning about Restore and I confirm Restore.
Message on the Screen says "iTunes is restoring the software on this iPhone"
After about 7 to 10 minutes I get Dialog says that my IPhone has been restored to Factory Setting, etc, etc.
On my Iphone I restore from ITunes Backup, disconnect and reconnect Iphone from USB get a dialog box confirming restoring.
At this point my phone tries to connect iTunes. On ITunes itself get message "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An Unknown error occurred (0xE8000024)." press ok.
Disconnect and reconnect Iphone from USB and it connects to ITunes as normal. (I don't get a message that my iphone has been unlocked)
At this point I know nothing has happen, I try and use a sim from another Carrier and there is No Service.
I have tried this a number of times using 2 differnet PC's, same thing happens.
Now to every bodies favourite Copy and Paste http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5014
Opened up I-Tunes on my PC and accessed my Iphone.
Under Back up > Manually Back Up and Restore> I press "Back Up Now"
To my Iphone  Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings.
After about 2 minutes my Iphone restarts. I go through setup until it asks about back up, I choose back up by ITunes, disconnect and reconnect Iphone from USB and it connects to iTunes.
On ITunes > Restore from this BackUp (chooeing the backup I just did)> I press continue. I get a dialog box telling me that my IPhone starting to restore (or something like that) and my Iphone restarts, connects to ITunes without any problems and that’s it. (I don't get a message that my iphone has been unlocked)
I try and use a sim from another Carrier and there is No Service.
According to friends/fiends and internet both methods should work, Can anyone tell me what I am missing? I have been told that the top method does not work by some people and does by others, really I don't care just any help with the method that you know works would be great and Please don’t reply with “one of them methods doesn’t work” that is just being an ***.
    Thanks.
PS sorry for the long post, wanted to get everything down:)

Well you have covered everything I can think of
You could call AppleCare in your country and they may check the status on their database of your iPhone
Then you will know if it is you or an issue with the carrier processing the request correctly

  • HUGE PROBLEM AFTER UPGRADE HELLPPP!!!

I upgraded my iphone last night to 3.0 or something and now my phone is fudged up. It stays on the emergency screen and i cant do anything but take incoming calls. also when i try to connect to itunes it get this message. itunes could not connect to this iphone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000024).
anyone know how to fix this?

First rest your iPhone, by holding the home and sleep button until you see the apple logo don't let go. If this doesn't help then try doing it again but this time as soon as it shuts down stop holding the sleep button and start holding only on home button. This will put your iPhone to a recovery mode, then what you want to do is you want to connect it to iTunes, hopefully iTunes would recognize it. If not then call the Apple company even if your warranty finished they have to fix it because it was them that caused the problem since it was their update that had a bug.
