1.0.3 and iTunes 7.5, still freezing?

Just upgraded to 1.0.3 and I've been running iTunes 7.5. Still getting intermittent freezes here adding songs. It seems like each update has fixed this a little bit, but I'm still getting the 1-2 sec beachball when adding new music. Anyone else? Any workarounds?
My 160g is close to full, but this started happening after it was about 50% full...

I also have a 160GB Classic and the problems do persist. I suspect that it was something to do with the fact I'm using a powerbook, not a macbook. They seem to work great with intel machines, but slow and buggy with PowerPC machines. I also have a G5 imac and I have the same problems on that. I never had the issues with the video that I do with this. The most annoying are an extremely slow sync (73 GB of music took over 14 hours) and then the ipod freezes when you try to use it. Also, it didn't copy the playlists, only the music.
I wish they would give you a way to actually find a corrupted file, if that's what the issue is.

Have you checked lately to see how much free space there is on the disk? Especially since iPhoto freezes at launch ...
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
And make sure the OS X software is up to date.
Click the Apple  top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click: Software Update
If you have anti virus software installed or are using third party Mac cleaning utiliites, that may be part and parcel of the your problems.

OK, I now own a legal copy of Premiere pro , NOT the trial, and the program is still freezing

I am not running the trial version of this program, but I am still experiencing freezing of my computer when either exporting or rendering. Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this? I have 2.8 dual core processor, nvidia geforce 8600 gts, and 4 gigs of ram. I am running windows 7 64 bit.

I believe the source footage was avchd .mts file. It's from a Canon Vixia HF M30 camcorder.
I have a SATA hard drive , 7200 RPM, 250 gig. About 50 gigs are free. I have a western digital my book 500 gig hard drive that is external connected through USB 2.0 but that only has about 10 gigs left on it. I wasn't able to install more memory but I have 4 gig, I just upgraded last week, maybe I need to go to 6. The thing is I'm able to edit without any hiccups or choppyness in the video so I'm not sure if memory is the problem but I am probably wrong.
I just ordered a western digital 2 terabyte internal hard drive. Maybe If I dedicate that to media cache things will run smoothly?
I was using the scratch disks on the internal hard drive, then tried to split it up by putting previews and things like that on the external but there was still freezing.
If the problems still persist after I get the hard drive I'll order some extra RAM.

I tried to do this and it was not successful. If I restore to factory settings through computer will I also lose my cellphone number? I'm not worried about apps or anything those are fine. I just need to know if my phone will no longer be registered with my Verizon number.

With iTunes 10, Computer Still Freezing When Podcasts are Downloading

For the last several versions of iTunes, my computer has been slowing down a LOT while podcasts are downloading, especially when a new iT version is first installed. Then things improve over time. Now, with iTunes 10.1.1.4, it's horrendous. ITunes takes forever to open, and then causes my computer to become completely unresponsive. It doesn't respond to mouse or keyboard inputs, so I can't minimize it or shut it down.
Sometimes when that happens, I can't even open Task Manager, but when I can, it indicates that iTunes is using between 95 and 98% of CPU. In that circumstance, I can't even shut down iTunes with TM. After 15 or 20 minutes and all the podcasts have downloaded, I'm able to use my computer again, even with iTunes open.
It happens with all podcasts, but obviously it's more of a problem when a big pcast is downloading.
Today, I got the famous blue screen of death. All my programs had frozen and I was trying to shut down iTunes. The blue screen said "kernel data inpage error," whatever that means.
With past versions, I've tried uninstalling and re-installing iT, but that has not helped.
All my other programs are working fine. Today I ran CCCleaner, AdAware, RegCure and Malware Bytes, but nothing changed. My McAfee anti-virus max scanning time is 10 seconds.
Any idea what could be going on here? Or how to begin troubleshooting this mess?

finally worked! I found this post and it has finally worked I understand it is the same as WHATHECK's answer so thanks WHATHECK!
You have to be certain that you have backed up your Library's and Playlists and that you are doing the one in the root (if like me you use a HD any old library/playlists instead of deleting them put them some were safe just incase and make sure you are re-creating the library from your root folder i.e user/music/itunes

My Firefox freezes every so often and when it freezes, it stays frozen for a half hour or so. No matter how many times I quit and restart it, it still freezes as soon as it opens up and I can't click anything except the quit button. Why?

I am on FF and it suddenly freezes. The window says that it is not responding and it doesn't start to respond again. So I quit and open it up again. It loads all the basic images and then freezes again and stops responding. I try over and over again to quit and restart it, but it never responds and I have to swith over to using Internet Explorer when FF does not respond. Why does it do this?

I didn't think the first page would help me because I could still add, delete and edit my bookmarks, then restart the browser and it would've saved the changes. Also, I didn't think the second page would help me because my browser didn't have any of the symptoms listed. The problem I had wasn't with adding, deleting, or editing the bookmarks. I simply couldn't organize my bookmarks in a certain folder because the bookmarks would jump around when I tried to move them. However, I looked down the second link's page and found a section titled "Problems limited to bookmarks". I did what the first sentence told me to and it allowed me to FINALLY organize that folder!

My iPod 8gb 4th Genoration Nano wont sync. It doesnt appeer in My Computer and iTunes but it still charges. When it works, it says 'iPod cant sync' or if i try and restore it it says 'iPod cant restore'. Some times it says 'This USB device is not reconised'. Sometimes it works. I have tried to restore it and restart it.

My Satellite A660 still freezes after three service under warranty

My laptop freezes occasionally from the first day. I have a reclamation three times at two authorized service enterprises. First service changed the BIOS, they clean it and said that Toshiba tests didn't find the hardware problem.
Second service enterprise said that test shows problem with the hard drive and they changed Laptop still freezes occasionally, event viewer is my proof. Warranty expires at Sept 2012. What I can do?
Please help me with the sloppy service.

Yes, I visited moj servis and mr servis. Both are official service centres.
It is Satellite A660-10W with Windows 7 Home installed and yes it freezes with factory settings. It freezes no matter what degree of activity is present. Event Viewer is a proof of freeze conditions. I don't want to be rude or boastful, but my 15 years work with computers tell me that motherboard have an error. I just don't know why Toshiba service centres are so inert.
I can find any toshiba support mail to inform toshiba about service centres sloppiness. What they think, that I want another computer and have a lot of time to get fight with stupid people, stupid questions in stupid companies.
I choose toshiba because they have 2 year warranty. Now I see that they can put 10 years warranty on that way. It would be more usefull that toshiba have an address where can I send the laptop with the "thank you but never more" message.

I've been using the cable that came with the 1st gen iPod (I bought the first gen second hand) It always worked on my computer with the 1st gen iPod. So I was wondering, do you think I need to replace my cable in order for my PC to recognize my iPod or is it something else?

Try a different cable. And are you connecting directly to your computer or through a USB hub?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.
