1.1.3: I want my bars back!!!

Apple, ever since updating to 1.1.3, I get 5-7 dropped calls driving along the same interstate which I never had a single dropped call. Around my house before the update, I had 3 bars. Now I get "No Service" or 1 bar, immediately after updating to 1.1.3.
Many have been complaining about this problem, yet I have not seen any official acknowledgment about it from Apple.
Are you listening to us? Hello?

Another thought:
Maybe Apple has disabled or re-prioritized certain frequency bands to prohibit jailbroken iPhones to work well with carriers other than ATT. For instance, I'm in a predominantly Verizon area. If 1.1.3 disabled or re-prioritized the frequency bands used on the iPhone, you would see two things.
1. People who had dropped calls prior to 1.1.3 suddenly having a reduced amount (or no amount) of dropped calls after the update.
2. People who had no, or minimal dropped calls prior to 1.1.3 suddenly having an increased amount of dropped calls after the update.
This impacts my professional day to day dealings.
Would anyone from Apple care to chime in?

yahoo is my home page. I updated to the new version of firefox per yahoo and now my tool bar has changed.
I want the old tool bar back? The old one had an X when I wanted to stop something (I just clicked on the X). Also, the old toolbar has a "home" that I clicked on and it went staight back to yahoo main page

Not sure whether for instance you initially had a Yahoo optimised version of Firefox, and have now overwritten it with an official Mozilla version. Although the Mozilla version should NOT add unwanted features, but the Yahoo version may well do.
If you merely need to find the Yahoo emails page quickly just add it as a bookmark or as a bookmark on the Bookmarks toolbar and make sure that is visible.
Clicking the star icon on the location bar whilst looking at your emails will bookmark the page.

  • I don't know about anybody else, but the 5.0 version is very user unfriendly. All my bookmarks got wiped out. I want to go back to earlier version where I could have an icon that actually took me to my bookmarks and not the thing they came up with.

Pretty clear what happened: the so called upgrade wiped the bookmarks out and got rid of the VERY useful bookmarks bar. The window that now comes up is worthless and cumbersome. I need my bookmarks back. I looked in the profile for a possible second ff but there was only this one and I don't like it. I want the bookmarks bar back and my bookmarks back. What to do????

Firefox doesn't "lose" bookmarks during an update, and even if it did you should see the default bookmarks that come with Firefox. Plus, Firefox 4+ versions have ten bookmark backups stored in your Profile folder; Firefox 3.6 and earlier stored five backup files.
'''Were your bookmarks even being saved in Firefox, or maybe something like the Google Toolbar or a Yahoo Toolbar extension??''' <br />
Those two extensions haven't been updated for Firefox 5.0 ''(to the best of my knowledge, unless they were updated in the last couple of days)'', so those extensions would have been disabled during the update due to the lack of "compatibility".
To see if that is the case, open the Add-ons Manager tab - {Ctrl + Shft + A} - then open Extensions and see which extensions may have been disabled, they would appear at the bottom of that list and would be greyed-out.
Please check to see what extensions might be disabled.

  • How can I accurately move the play bar back exactly to where I need to re-listen to?

I'm not sure if this an OS, app, software or hardware question, and couldn't find a better place to post. Hope it's OK. Apologies if not.
When i need to re-listen or re-watch a few seconds on an online school lecture using Safari or a song in iTunes to lean a part on my guitar, the play bar always moves much farther back past where &amp; what I want to hear again - forcing me to watch or listen to unwanted material waiting until the play bar gets back to the part I want. This extra time really adds up!.
Is it possible to move the play bar back (or forward) to the exact place I want?
If the file is on my computer, I open it in recording/editing software, which allows pinpoint accuracy. If the file is online only, I record it to my computer so I can open in my recording app. All needlessly time consuming.
But i cant do this on my iPad or iPhone and a finger on a touch screen trying to move a play bar is much worse than using a mouse or trackpad on a computer.
Can I move the play bar back or forward to exactly where I need it when using simple playback type software (like maybe using the arrow keys) with the same or close to placement accuracy of a recording/editing program?
    Thx!

    Ah.. yes I see now.
Yes I have my eye glued on the time but the slider doesn't work in sync with what I want.
Meaning. lets say I'm listening to a lecture audio and miss the last sentence, I hit pause at 1:14, and assume I need to review 5 seconds back and want to go to 1:09. I move the slider and it goes from 1:14 to 1:00. And I can't seem to get a smooth second by second relation going with the slider. Just jumps of time.
I can get back to 1:14 and when I try again it goes back to 1:00 which feels like there is a preconfigured minimum block of time that you can go back or move forward.
So what happens is I have to listen from 1:00. So instead of 5 seconds, with the time fidgetting with the slider, I've spent a bit of time. Multiply this over the course (no pun) of a 1.5 hr lecture and the time I spend with the lecture can easily double much of it wasted time, either trying to pinpoint the spot I want, or relistening to material that precedes the point in the track I want.
the only way I've gotten around this is to use a sound editor for audio tracks which has a fluid relationship between the slider and time so I can move back in time second by second.
I am at a loss for why the standard playback apps like QuickTime and Preview are so "clunky" and choppie and why they don't allow for a second by second review, that should be both slider and arrow key initiated.
I don't think I made my point clear at first. Is this better?
    Thanks,
    Steven

  • Want To Switch Back From iOS 7 to iOS 6

So, I just updated my iOS software yesterday on my iPad 2 to the latest version, iOS 7, from the previous iOS 6. There are four or five decent new features, but FAR too many that I don't like about it...
    To name a few:
    - in iOS 7, the user-photos screen saver  that you could turn on from the "lock screen" is now gone. With iOS 7, you have to go into your photos to turn it on.... I can't stand that. I wish Apple would put it back to turning on the photo screen saver from the iPad's lock screen.
    - iOS 7 now forces my photos into a grouping organization (date and location) that I don't like. The photo backgrounds all now have a white background, which is a real strain on my eyes. Why can't users choose their own iOS color schemes without polarizing photos?
    - the new iOS 7 color scheme is way too bright. Especially in Photos, Notes and in Contacts. This can't be adjusted to a darker color without inverting the colors (which also polarizes/inverts the color in any photos). I also don't like the colored app "bar" at the bottom of the home screen's page(s). Why they don't make it black, or better yet, transparent?
    - you cannot pinch to re-size or adjust the size of a user-chosen photo wallpaper in iOS 7 to fit your home screen the way that you could in iOS 6. In iOS 7; it will only self-adjust and save to a size that is far bigger than your home screen, and therefore completely off-center.
    - as with iOS 6, almost half of my music playlists in iTunes won't copy over to iCloud/iTunes Match: I would have to recreate the playlists from scratch in iTunes Match, which- with the enormous size of my music library (300 gigs), could take hours. I'm pretty attached to the playlists that I spent a great deal of time creating. I keep getting an error in iTunes/iCloud that there are media types "other than" Mp3's in my playlists, which I know for a fact isn't true. My iTunes playlists all have only Mp3 files. Actually, the same problem occurred in iOS 6.
    - there are now more privacy settings to adjust with iOS 7, to protect your privacy from ads or user-specific ads. There is nothing that I hate more than to pay money &amp; have to defend my basic right to not be bothered with ads/sharing of my personal info. Why this is a recurring problem with technology companies, I have no idea. Like the rest of us, I want the choice to completely to maintain my privacy. If I want to look at ads, I'll turn on the TV or open any magazine.
    - in iOS 7, it is now much harder to "swipe" get to the "search screen" to keyword search for documents &amp; emails, etc.
I'll submit this as feedback to Apple, but I'm sure it'll fall on deaf ears and I'll be permanently stuck with the current changes in iOS 7, or that the next iOS update won't be much of an improvement.
My question is- if the last time that I backed up my iPad a week ago, I had iOS 6 installed in iTunes (and haven't updated on my desktop yet to iOS 7), can't I do a complete restore of my iPad and then do a backup and revert to iOS 6? I don't care what data is lost over the last week, I just want to go back to iOS 6.
I really don't like the new iOS 7 version and want to revert back to "6", but I just read that this isn't possible anymore after the beta period is over. Is this true?
Regretting my decision to update. Could someone please tell me how or if I can revert back to iOS 6 (from my iOS 6 backup on my PC desktop)??? Sorry for the rant. Thanks.

  • Now have V.5-No longer able to have home page appear (Mytelus). Instead blank page except for Bing Search window. I want to go back to earlier version.

With earlier versions of Firefox, when I clicked on desktop icon, my home page of www.mytelus.com automatically appeared. I don't need the search engine called Bing which appears instead. You use to have a page that asked if one wanted to go back to an earlier version of Firefox. Also all my familiar menu bars are gone.
Can you give me the site to visit that will allow me to delete version 5, and go back to say about version 3.5 or 4?

I found solution to problem when I was directed to go back to page that listed problems. I found sentence that stated, something like, "How to make your own home page"

  • Help.. i want to go back to snow leopard from lion

if I reinstall snow leopard and restore my latest backup from my time capsule will it leave snow leopard or will it restore lion? I don’t like how lion has slowed down my system so i want to go back to snow leopard and restore my latest files. here's what i got:
    Hardware Overview:
      Model Name:          MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:          MacBookPro8,1
      Processor Name:          Intel Core i5
      Processor Speed:          2.3 GHz
      Number of Processors:          1
      Total Number of Cores:          2
L2 Cache (per Core):          256 KB
      L3 Cache:          3 MB
      Memory:          4 GB
      Boot ROM Version:          MBP81.0047.B0E

    Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
    1.  Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.  If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.

You can go into View > Toolbars and select the ones you want to see. If you can't see the menu bar you can simply tab ALT on your keyboard (I think F10 works too) to show it.

  • How do I get the address bar back on the top of my browser

This issue can be caused by the RSS Icon extension.
