1.1.3 listen to podcasts via bluetooth?

Has anyone checked to see if after the 1.1.3 update one can still listen to podcasts using the apple bluetooth headset instead of wired headphones? It’s one of my must haves. Thanks to the brave soul who takes the 30 seconds to check.
-Craig

Glad goshia got the reference, but podcasting via bluetooth works under 1.1.2, I’m just trying to find out if it works in 1.1.3.
If someone has an apple bluetooth headset and already upgraded their iphone to 1.1.3 (and wants some positive karma) would you please:
-make sure bluetooth headset is paired
-from main page touch phone icon
-touch voicemail (bottom right)
-touch audio (upper right hand corner)
-choose iphone bluetooth headset
-then hit home button (only button on front of iphone)
-touch ipod icon
-touch podcasts
-select and play a podcast.
The speaker on the iphone will also play, but the podcast plays through bluetooth headset as well. (or at least it does under 1.1.1 or 1.1.2) This is what I’m trying to ascertain before upgrading to 1.1.3
Please let it play for 1 min. to be sure the connection holds.
I thank you for your help.

  • Nokia 3161: Listen to radio via bluetooth device

I have a Nokia 6131 and want to listen to the radio via a standard bluetooth device. I am unable to accomplish this because the phone requires a wired headset to be connected to the phone. The wire of the headset functions as the antenna and if no wired headset is connected the radio cannot be activated. As long as a wired headset is connected to the 6131 no bluetooth device can be paired to the phone and if the wired headset is connected after a bluetooth device is paired, the existing link to the bluetooth device is automatically deactivated. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks for the quick response. May I label this design decision from Nokia as not very clever! In stronger words: to me is appears to be a flaw, because it now causes that I can indeed listen to music via my bluetooth device if it is stored on my Nokia 3161 but I cannot listen to the radio-device on the same Nokia 3161 without physically connecting the wired headset. And all this just because the radio requires the wired headset as an antenna! Am I, as a non-technical consumer, expected to understand this? Can't this designflaw be mended via a software update of the firmware. Maybe somebody from Nokia can respond to this?

  • Listening to Podcasts AND music

I can listen to podcasts on my shuffle with no problem, and they play fine; and I can do the same with music selections. However, whenever there is music AND podcasts on the shuffle, the podcasts don't play...only the music. Any suggestions?

    Thanks. I finally got this e-mail re(ply/sponse):

  • How do I listen to Podcasts like I would a playlist?

Just recently switched from the PC world to the Mac world and hope I didn't run into my first "gotcha". I am trying to listen to my podcasts on my iPhone as if it were from a playlist but I can figure out how to make this happen.
Previously I would download my ~ 10 podcasts each day via iTunes. The Windows Media Player would automatically recognize the new files and load it into the library. I could easily find the files in the Windows Media Player library if I sorted all tracks by decending date order. Then I would move those files to a playlist and even sort them in an order of my choosing. Sync the playlist to my MP3 player and whala, I have my own radio show for my drive to/from work each day.
iTunes and the iPhone don't seem to want me be able to manage my podcasts that way. I can get over the lack of not being able to dictate the order in which I listen to podcasts. What frustrates me is I have to overtly select a new file to listen to after the last one is finished. I just want to press a couple of buttons then listen to my podcasts (preferably in an order I predetermined) for an hour or two.
Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to listen to a set of podcasts like I would a playlist?

I believe the default setting on Podcasts is Skip When Shuffling. So if you have Shuffle turned on, you have to return to the list each time one podcast ends to select another one to listen to. Check and see if you have shuffle turned on. If so, set it to off, or in iTunes Get Info on the podcasts and uncheck Skip When Shuffling.

  • 3GS:   Ipod MP3 Playback via Bluetooth (Audi A4  Speakerphone)

    Hi folks,
i have an Iphone 3gs. Connecting to my Audi Speakerphone works fine. Could phone with the hands free set very excelent. What i wanted to know is, could i also playback MP3 files via Bluetooth. Using ipod on my iphone brings no audio output in my car. Strange, because when i do an audio memo on the iphone, i can listen it via my speakerphone set in my car.
is there a trick to get running ipod output via bluetooth on the iphone ?
    thanks for information.
    greets
    werner

I've noticed this lately as well, with my iPhone 4. I couldn't confidently pin it directly on any particular iOS update, but my iPhone used to automatically connect up via Bluetooth with my Prius's handsfree feature, and now it doesn't. I work with a CE-based device at my job, with Bluetooth capability, and I used to test out that feature by having it discover my iPhone. This no longer works either.
What I have found (not really a solution, but it does work and may be a clue for Apple) is that if I simply go to the Settings app then the General -> Bluetooth screen and let it sit there, it will pair right up with my car within a few seconds. Bluetooth is always on, and always says "Now Discoverable" at the bottom of the settings screen.

  • ITune songs skip BACK 25 or so songs via Bluetooth

I play my iTunes music via Bluetooth in my car, and I have had this problem to varying degrees for as long as I can remember - I have an iPhone 4S, up to date on updates. When I turn my car off and go in the the evening, and come back out in the morning, start the car and the music starts playing again, it is back anywhere from one or two to 2-26 songs.
It will sometimes happen during a shorter period - like while I'm at work (more so) or shopping (less so). I can't fins anything in iTune or iPhone settings which would facilitate this. I want the music to pick up with the song I left off with when I turned the car off - not way back many songs....I end up having to skip through all the songs I already listened to in order to listen to songs I haven't heard recently. I usually have my player set to shuffle.
It's pretty frustrating! Anyone else experiencing this or experienced this in the past? Any guesses for a fix/adjustment?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Cara

No one? I guess I need to contact Apple Support? I thought it might be a Bluetooth issue as I've read about some incompatibility issues with Bluetooth and the iPhone...
No one else has experience this problem?

  • Is it possible to listen to music through bluetooth and be on a call with earbuds at the same time?

Is it possible to listen to music through bluetooth and be on a call with earbuds at the same time?
I would like to be able to talk on my iPhone with the EarPods while playing music via Bluetooth in my car.  Are there any third party products that will allow this?

Sorry,  iOS will pause the music playback when you are on the phone call.  You can set iOS to use bluetooth for your audo playback on your music app, and select the earpods for the phone app, but as soon as you answer the phone call, iOS will pause the music playback.  This is a core OS feature, so you will not find any certified iOS app that will do what you want.
As a side note, please use extra caution when using your ear pods while driving.  It is not safe as you may not hear emergency vehicles, car horns, railroad crossing bells, etc., and it is illegal in many states (in the US).

  • Connecting iPhone to MBP via Bluetooth (Sync Contacts)

Does your iPhone connect to your computer via Bluetooth? Mine will not.
I have a new iPhone 3gs and a MBP. The MBP has 10.5.8. Pairing the two is easy enough, once the pass code is typed in to the iPhone a window on the computer says that pairing was successful. The IPhone is listed as a device on the computer as well as the computer is listed as a device on the iPhone.
This is where the problem begins. They will not connect. I have tried everything I can think of including:
Finding and dumping any BT prefs
Wiping the 'devices' from the MBP
Wiping the 'devices' from the iPhone
    Rebooting the MBP
    Rebooting the iPhone
    Re-pair the devices
The iPhone pairs and connects to my BT headset no problem. My old cell phone (Nokia 6555b) pairs and connects to MBP no problem. Bluetooth works on each device, but they will not connect with each other.
All I wanted to do was get my contacts sync'd .... pretty simple typically. After I gave up and hardwired to the computer to sync music, photos, calendars, etc I discovered I could sync contacts as well through iTunes .... BUT .... this does not solve the problem. If I were connecting Apple(s) and Orange(s) then pairing and connecting could understandably be an issue (other party hardware), but this is Apple(s) and Apple(s) .... Apple Mac to Apple iPhone .... a little embarrassing to say the least in regards to how I brag up my Macs.
    Any thoughts please?

The BT on the iPhone is used for wireless headsets and stereo headphones - ie audio listening applications. The new APIs allow apps to use the BT to connect to 3rd party devices for some functionality (though I have not seen a device that has implemented this yet). Regardless, the iPhone does not support any manner of file transfer or sync via BT

  • Phone/car volume mismatch when connected via bluetooth

I use Audible to listen to books on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in my car while connected via Bluetooth.   My problem is that I must turn the car stereo volume extremely high in order to hear adequately.  This results in getting blasted by the car stereo when the smartphone is not connected because I never remember to turn it back down.  Is there a means to get the phone volume and car stereo volume more in sync?

Bump. Anyone from Sony planning to do anything about this or is it new phone time?
Be a shame if its the latter but if the software doesn't function correctly for something basic like BT audio the phone is effectively a brick.

  • Siri doesn't let me reply to text messages via bluetooth anymore.

When I'm using SIRI via bluetooth while driving, I can ask her for my "text messages" - she is very happy to read me my new text message. After she finished reading a message, she used to say "You can reply or read it again." She doesn't say anything anymore after she reads the text message, so I cannot reply to a text message anymore. If I re-activate SIRI by pressing the button on my bluetooth after I listen to a text message and say "reply," she says "There is nothing to reply to."
    Any ideas?

Have you tried the troubleshooting tips on page 34, 132-133 and 142 of the iphone manual?

  • Downloading previously listened to podcasts?

This doesn't happen a lot but it does happen. I'll listen to a podcast on my PC that I downloaded via iTunes, delete it, and then days or weeks later something comes up that makes me want to revisit that podcast. Is there any way (in iTunes) to "re-download" a previously listened to podcast. Marking as New doesn't help.
    Thanks.

Next to the PodCast name, there is an arrow. Click that and it'll take you into the iTunes store, PodCast episode directory. Select the PodCast episode that you want, and on the right, click Get Episode.
    You're back in business.
I hope this answers the question for you.

  • Can I listen to podcasts through car

Can I listen to podcasts through car

The cigarrette port just puts out power, it is not connected to the stereo or speakers in any way.
As James pointed out, if your car has a audio input you can do it. If it has a USB port is possible you could do it, if it has bluetooth hands free device then its also very possible you can do it through bluetooth.
It all comes down to what your stereo is capable of.
I would consult your car's Manual / User Guide to see if your stereo offers any connections.
