1.1: Date/time confusion after edit in CS3

My apologies if this has been discussed already; I could not find a relevant thread in the forum.
About a month ago I shot a number of images in a timezone three hours west of where I live, without adjusting the camera's clock. Imported the raw images into LR 1.0 and adjusted the capture time back three hours to reflect the local time of capture. Edited some of those images directly in LR 1.0, some by launching PSCS3 from LR 1.0. Any image edited in PSCS3 would appear right next to its original in LR library (sorted by capture time).
Installed LR 1.1. The library order for images edited (direct or externally) in LR 1.0 has not changed. So far so good. HOWEVER, now when I edit an image in PSCS3, the result no longer appears next to its original. Instead, it appears to be ordered as if the capture time had not been adjusted, even though my grid view shows the adjusted capture time.
Has anyone else see this?
Thanks,
Rich

  • Date & Time Wrong after iTunes Sync

I could swear I saw something about this in a thread, but couldn't find it after searching.
I don't recall this happening before today (might have and I just didn't notice) but when I sync with iTunes now, it changes the date and time on the touch to some date/time in 2005.

Happened again tonight. Each time I pulled the USB and reconnected, it synced to a different date and time. What appeared to work (although this is based on a sample size of 1) was to exit iTunes, then disconnect/reconnect the touch, then relaunch iTunes. Date/Time corrected on subsequent sync.

  • How to save ALV data into DB after Editing values in WDA

    Hi All,
I have created a WD application with and able to successfully make columns editable in ALV. But I failed when trying to save the edited data in database.
I use ON_CELL_ACTION event but its not working as of now. I go through few blocks but ultimately i got confused. Please guide me in correct way.

    Hi Sanjib,
ON_DATA_CHECK  event is triggered every time when you change the data in table
For this event, you have to implement an Event Handler method in which the logic is written.
There is already a thread where this question has been answered:
ALV Edit how to save changes to DB??
I would suggest that you search more on scn before starting a discussion

  • Date & time problems after new year

    Hi,
First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
After the new year my date and time is always changing to a date in the year 1969. I do reset it whenever I turn my pb on. But it always goes back when I turn it off. What could be the reason?

Hi, zoha. Your internal PRAM battery is dead and needs to be replaced. It's just coincidental that it happened to die at the end of the year.

  • Iphoto: unwanted date/time change after import

    Two problems:
First Problem: In October, 2012, scanned a photo into my MacMini in JPEG format.  Creation date 10.12.2012 , Modified date 10.12.2012.  This is OK.
This is an old family Christmas photo, so I use "touch -t" command through the Terminal application to change Creation and Modified dates to 12.25.1957 at 2PM (1400.00 hours).  Use Finder/Get Info to check date of JPEG file and confirm change of date and time.
Then, import JPEG file into iPhoto:  iPhoto shows date of JPEG file as 12.25.1957, but time is now 3:34.02PM (1534.02 hours).  Use File/View in Finder to look at iPhoto file and discover that date and time are changed to 12/31/1969 at 7:00 PM (1900.00 hours).  What's going on here?
Second Problem:  Received a JPEG file by email and moved it to the Desktop.   Creation date and Modifed date of the file are the date and time they were downloaded from email onto my MacMini, which is today: 1/30/2012 at 11:30AM.   Use "touch -t" command through Terminal application to change Creation and Modified dates and times to 10/20/2012 at 6PM (which is when the picture was actually taken). Comfirm change through use of Finder/Get Info  capability.
Import JPEG file into iPhoto and time gets changed to 7:34PM (date stays 10/20/2012).   Look at File/Reveal in Finder and the dates are still the date and time of the download from email onto my computer.  What gives?
Iphoto version is 9.4.2.  All system software up-to-date.

That command is the adjust time/date command - not the batch change command
Adjust T/D takes a group of selected photos and applies a constant delta to them thereby correcting for camera setting errors or time zone issues
Also note that this is a user to user support forum not a path to Apple - it is a great plce for questions about how iPhoto works - it is an extremely poor place to make requests for changes since there is no one here who can do that.

  • Aperture crashes every time now after editing "Custom Field"

I was trying to edit my Custom Fields to get around the annoying inability to edit EXIF camera data (my photos are film and were scanned 15 years ago without EXIF data); this seems to have somehow created a Custom Field with name = blank. " " and now whenever I reference the custom fields Aperture crashes; when I restart it it tells me it's "rebuilding the database" and it takes a good while.
I am not 100% the blank custom field is the cause.

    crash reporter sez:

  • Calendar no longer expands panel to edit event date/time

This issue just occurred out of the blue. When editing event details in the calendar, I click on the date/time panel to edit the date/time/repeat/etc. The expected action is for that panel to expand and be scrollable. What it is doing now is showing the prompts, but not expanding/giving a scroll and smushes everything together. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to resolve? Screenshot of the issue:
    I'm on Yosemite 10.10.1 and Calendar 8.0 (2026)

As always, I have no "Edit" button even one minute after posting, so I reply to my own post. I did also trash "com.apple.Calendar.plist", no change at all either in my chosen preferences or in the missing messages issue,

  • Changing date/time ...

I have a question about changing date and time ... thanks a lot in advance.
I have .CR2 files and I want to change the "date time original" info ... I want to change this info in the raw file, so I clicked on the "write date or time changes to into proprietary raw files" check box in the catalog settings window ... and then, after changing date/time with the "edit capture time", Lightroom wants to save changes and after clicking the arrow on the thumbnail, it creates a sidecar file. If date/time changes is to write directly into raw file (because of catalog settings indicated above), why does Lightroom create sidecar .xmp file?

There are two things going on here.
    1. When you change the capture date/time (Date Time Original), the change is immediately reflected in the EXIF portion of the Metadata panel in the Library module. Because this is a metadata change, the warning arrow appears on the thumbnail (if you have that set to show in the View Options)....and clicking on that arrow brings up the "Metadata changed, do you want to save to disk" dialog. Note that this happens when you do any kind of metadata change, not just changing the date/time. At that point you can either decide to write the metadata to disk, or not.....if you typically write your metadata changes to XMP I guess you'd say "Save", but if you don't then just ignore it. Of course if you say "Save" then Lightroom will do as requested and write the Metadata, if it's a DNG,JPEG,TIFF etc, the Metadata is written to the XMP section of the file header....but if it's a proprietary RAW then it's written to an XMP sidecar.
    2. The second thing is that if you have the option set in the Catalog Settings to write date/time changes into proprietary raw files, then the change that you make is reflected in the Raw file.....this is a different change to the XMP update.

  • Comparing two dates+times [bash]

To compare two dates+times* in bash I have always used date +%s and compared the resulting strings.  Is there a better way to do it?  Thanks.
    * As in "is date+time Y after date+time X?"

Years ago I wrote a bash script to build a thumbnail gallery webpage for a local directory structure of torrents.  For each torrent, it created the thumbnail of an image with the same name, scraped torrents to get seeders/leechers, parsed a text file of urls and added links below the image with special favicons for commonly linked sites.
That was a hassle, and I have been afraid to look at the script since I stopped using it.  But the page it produced was pretty sweet.
Most of the scripts I write are a bit more down-to-earth than that though.

  • Display "Last Updated" date & time in footer?

I share Numbers '09 worksheets over a network with my colleague.
Is there a way to display the date & time of the most recent update (i.e. saved update) in the footer of a worksheet?
I realize this info is available via the Inspector, but it would be very handy to have it printed out along with the data to ensure we are working off the same document revision.

Insert > Date & Time into your Header, Footer, Shape, etc.
Right-Click the Date & Time and select Edit Date & Time. In the dialog window that opens, check the box for Automatically Update on Open.

  • CS3 file will not open in CS3 after editing in CS6?!?

Pardon the exclamations but we're creative folks not techies. After editing a CS3 file in CS6 we are unable to open it in CS3. Looks like CS6 will only save back to CS4? So once edited in CS6 then I can no longer use CS3 to work with the files? Can anybody confirm this for me? We also tried to export to IDML but CS3 would not read it.

When you open an older version of InDesign file within a newer version and edit them, the older version of file is first converted using some required plugins of the newer version of InDesign and then a consolidated new file is generated including the required plugins. Now, if you try to open this newer version of file back in an older version, the older version of InDesign looks for the required plugins used to edit the file and fails because InDesign older version did not use those plugins to create your file.
Please let me know if that explanation helped understanding why this behavior occurs.

  • Strange white, grey dots after editing time and date

Hi, I have a strange problem with iWork Pages (and Numbers as well). When I use the "edit date & time" option or double click on the selected date in my file... Well, each time I use it, one white dot appears on my screen. The dot is more like a very small white square with grey stroke. After using "edit date & time" there many of these squares. Only thing I can do to make them dissappear is to quit Pages (or Numbers) whit Cmd+Q and start it again. The screen is clear then until I use the time editing button again.
Does anyone have a clue what's happening?
I use a 13" MacBook Pro 2010 whit Mountain Lion.
I didn't such problems some time ago. I dont' think it is because of Mountain Lion, I think that it started some time ago on Snow Leopard after one of the iWork updates, but I'm not sure.
P.s. I'm attaching a screenshot of this issue. What on earth are those grey dots above the date???

Sadly, it didn't help. I've reinstalled iWork from my DVD. Twice.
First time with your script, reinstalled, updated from App Store. Same ugly dots again.
Second time I've removed manually iWork09 folder in the apps directory, then deleted Library->Application Support->iWork '09 and User->Library->Application Support->iWork '09 as well.
What I also did this time was to skip update process and check if the DVD version works fine, but... it doesn't.
Maybe it is something wrong with Mountain Lion? What could those dots be anyway?

  • Keeping orginal creation date after editing a photo

In Photoshop, Does anyone know how do I keep the shot/creation date after editing/adjusting a photograph in order to keep hundreds of images in a chronological order? I am combining files with a second shooter on an event an the timeline is essential.

Hmmm you might have a point.  I can see that tag in Bridge, but in Windows 7 Explore, that tag is not turned on by default.  Right clicking a column heading gives you the option of turning on any of about 50 column headings.  When I turned on the 'Date taken' column earlier the EXIF was there and correct.  Looking at some of my edits just now, the Date created tags are OK, but the date taken tags are not showing for the psd and save as files.  The date created tags for the RAW files show the time they card was uploaded to the computer.
It's not a big deal though.  As the questions are being asked in the Photoshop forum, all anyone has to do is sort them in Bridge (which does retain the Date Taken tag), and Batch rename with a number prefix.
