1.1 Taking 25 to 35 Seconds To Load Images

I upgraded to the current version of Aperture and everything worked smoothly until I started trying to edit raw images. Aperture is currently taking 25 to 35 seconds for each image to load before the editing tools become available. I've tried quitting and restarting the program to no avail. Once the image loads, the editing is smooth and works fairly quickly. But the 25 to 35 second loading time is a killer. I can't use Aperture until I can figure out how to speed this process up. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm using an iMac G5 (2.1 GHz, 2.5 Ram, 10.4.6).
I also noticed something else that was very strange: when I attempted to export 135 master images using "Export Master: Custom Name with Index", all 135 images were exported, but the numbering sequence was jumbled. In other words, an image called "Donna_Richie14" ended up being called "Donna_Richie98". The end result was that the sequence of the images, which I had painstakenly organized, were all out of order. Any ideas what happened here?

Both of the problems I outlined above cleared up when I restarted my computer. Weird. Especially how the export mixed up the numbering sequence. I realized I needed to restart when I had another strange numbering snafu using Adobe Bridge...

    Why is it taking my iphone so long to load the new io6 maps program
    The map feature is taking more than 60 seconds to load when I put in a destination. Before the i06 it would load instantly. What's going on?

    "Other" should normally be about 1-2GB.  You may have unnecessary cashe files increasing the size of your backup.  These can normally be cleared by restoring your phone (be sure to back it up first).
    Also, the backup time estimate is unreliable at first.  If may end up going significantly faster if you give it some time.

    One possible solution would be to organise your inbox into folders.
    Its never relly good on any system to have one folder that has everything in it.
    Try going to you web gui for that mail account and organise your folders and move mails from your inbox into corresponding folders for better organisation.
    Several folders containing the same amount of one folder will usually load a little quicker as the folder may not be accessed to download its content unless veiwed.
    So having 10 folders with organised content, and you inbox as an area thats to hold only new emails would work much much quicker with imap.
    Most imap servers will only update the contents of a folder when its veiwed.

  • Taking time to load image

    Hi,
                   I have implemented an image scroller. Now the client had reported that a few seconds are taking to load images. We have a local server. When we load images from it, it's not taking that much time to load images. You just copy the following code in a notepad save it as .html extension, which is the widget taken from client site.

    Hi Ross, the image loading problem is not solved yet. The client needs to solve it at any cost. He is saying that the problem might be with the effeciency of code. So my PM is asking to modify the code.Youc can view the image scroller in this specified site: http://test.nysaenet.org/NYSAENET/NYSAENET/Home/
    I am attaching the class that is using for loading images. In this class, after loading the images, some masking effects are given. I think you can understand about after viewing the image scroller and the class. Hope you ll reply as soon as possible. I am wasting more than one week for this purpose. I am not getting any idea.

  • ITunes loading delays on screaming machine - takes 90 seconds to load

    Need some help. Just built a new machine from the ground up. It has Intel Duo Core E6600 2.40 ghz CPU, 1066Mhz FSB, 4 mb L2 Cache; 2 gb DDR Ram; 500gb Raid 0 HDD; GeForce 7600GT 256mb Video card. Running Windows XP Home until Vista comes out. Screams. All other apps load in <1sec. iTunes 7.0.2 takes 90 seconds to load. With NAV & Firewall off still takes 75 seconds to load. iTunes load on other older PC's in the house takes 5-20 seconds. When watching Task Manager on itunes.exe; in first second ~25,000k loads into memory, then hangs for 90 seconds and then remaining load happens taking memory usage up to ~45,400k. Any ideas as to what's going on? Baffling?

    sorry for the delay in getting back to you Windbeam. 60-odd reply-notification backlog in my inbox, and i'm trying to alert people that i'm not going to be around much for the next 2 weeks.
    Seems to be related to hardware or the OS. Solution is to have a cd in the drive and then the load screams. Makes no sense at all! Very strange.
    good lord ... that is peculiar. if it wasn't for the fact that having the CD in there was helping boot times too, i'd be wondering about a problem with your iTunes CD drivers ... but they don't load on startup.
    perhaps check on the general wellness of the drive? i'm getting similar symptoms at the moment from belladonna (just during boot-up, though). her optical drive is broken at the moment, and when she's booting there is a significant delay, and i can hear the desultory clunky/whirr noises as the drive tries to run during those delays.
    so it might be worth just doublechecking if your firmware is up-to-date on the drive. there's some info in these documents that might help with that:

  • How can I make my Logo appear after 10 seconds of loading the background?

    Hi,
    I have an animation Logo flash movie which I want to appear after 10 seconds of loading the background image (Panel_mc)?
    I am using Actionscript 3 to load the Logo.swf movie. The following is the whole code that I have on my action script page:
    stop();
    import fl.transitions.Tween;
    import fl.transitions.easing.*;
    var PanelTween:Tween = new Tween(Panel_mc, "y", Elastic.easeOut, -400, 20, 5, true);
    var l:Loader=new Loader();
    addChild(l);
    l.load(new URLRequest("Logo.swf"));
    l.x = -20;
    l.y = -20;
    l.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.INIT, growLoader);
    function growLoader(evt:Event):void {
         l.width = 320;
         l.height = 185;
    Note: I need it because first the background will animate so no one can pay attention to my Logo. Once the background stops animation, My logo needs to be start (animation)?
    How can I do it using Actionscript 3.
    Hope somebody will help me.
    Thanks.

    If you look into the few code elements I mentioned, either in the help documentation or using Google, you will find examples that you can use/modify for your current project.  You'll learn more by doing some work yourself rather than having solutions handed to you. We are all learners... yes, it can be hard, but it gets easier when you work at it.

    How can I make my Introduction_mc automatically disappear after 10 Seconds and load Home_mc (automatically)? I don't want user to change by himself this Introduction page. It should be done automatically.

    Hi,
    I gues you are using AS2.0, then use setInterval, in AS3.0 user Timer Class.
    AS2.0
    var interval:Number = setInterval(doThis,10000);//in milliseconds
    function doThis():Void{
    //do something;
    AS3.0
    var timer:Timer = new Timer(10000, 1);
    timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER_COMPLETE, onTimerCompleteHandler, false, 0, true )
    function onTimerCompleteHandler(event:TimerEvent):void{
    //do something;

  • Visual Studio 2013 Publish window takes 30 seconds to load

    The Publish window takes 30 seconds to load in my ASP.NET MVC5 project. Previously, it loaded instantaneously.
    If i remove the PublishProfiles folder, the window loads at once. Its only after i've saved an actual publish profile this occurs.
    A new empty project does not have this problem. Therefor the problem 'should' be related to the solution/project.
    Some more information:
    Visual Studio 2013, fully updated.
    ASP.NET Web Application
    .NET Framework 4.5.1
    MVC 5
    Any ideas how to proceed ? :-)

    Hi Antevirus,
    Do you install the VS2013 update 4?
    If you publish the same app in other vs machine, how about the result?
    To make sure that it is not your VS IDE issue, please also run it in safe mode, or reset your VS settings.
    For the performance issue, please also think about the windows Environment like configurations or other processes.
    Best Regards,
    Jack

    You have to use the same apple id and password you used to purchase them. If you are using a different one then it will not work. Go to Settings>store and make sure on the very bottom you have the correct apple id. Do not use your icloud id as it is different.

  • ITunes takes 90 seconds to load due to TCP Reconnects

    iTunes takes about 90 seconds to load on my Windows 7 machine - a VERY fast machine with 6GB RAM and SSD drive where all other apps run very fast.  Scanning the internet, I found many instances of extremely slow loading, but none of the suggestions were helpful.  So, I used Process Monitor to see what the f*ck iTunes is doing...
    It turns out that iTunes is hanging due to TCP Reconnects.  It appears to be scanning TCP ports in the range of 61432 to 61503, trying each one twice, and each attempt takes 500 ms to time-out, causing a total of a 71 second hang during startup.  As appears to be typical for this very poorly behaved software, all of this occurs before any UI has been drawn - not even a splash screen - making things all the more confusing for the poor user, who is left wondering why the heck the program doesn't appear to have launched.
    I realize that this is probably not occurring for all users, meaning that there is something different about the installation/config on my particular machine that is triggering this problem.  Still, that is no excuse for such ridiculous behavior, especially for such a widely used application.
    Any help with this problem would be much appreciated.  Although, I'm not really interested in the obligatory shotgun approaches of things like doing full uninstall/re-install of iTunes and/or Windows 7, etc.  So, thank you for not asking me to do things that are likely to be a huge waste of my valuable time.  If you want me to capture and post details about my machine, I'll do that - even though it's highly obvious that this is an ugly software problem in iTunes that needs to be fixed.

    FYI, the TCP Reconnects are shown as MachineName:61xxx -> MachineName:5354, and the result of the API call is SUCCESS.  I'm just assuming they're timing out since the API calls are 500 ms apart.  I have no idea what this API is doing exactly, or why it seems to be scanning a range of ports but with each connection then apparently going to port 5354.  Very strange.  There are no other API calls in between the TCP Reconnect.  Picture is attached:
    calls.
