1-2 hour sync, iTunes trashing then reSyncing iPhone audio

I have been experiencing abnormally long sync times, between 1-2 hours (yes, HOURS). It seems that this delay is NOT happening during backup where most people experience, but during music sync. If I disconnect my phone, and then reconnect it seconds later, iTunes instantly deletes about 50% of my songs and then starts syncing them up again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MAVERICKS  - That (Syncing), Sinking Feeling!  ……….  This Fixed Mine……..……….
iPad, iPod not syncing on Mavericks…. I-Tunes freezing on connection of same to the usb port!  The following fixed these issues on my MacBook Pro running 10.9.3.  I do have Xcode on my laptop, but have never used it….  I’m not a programmer or hacker, just a cheesed of Apple fan.  I tried many of the already suggested possible fixes and nothing helped. Got fed up using the disk repair utility and getting no further on.
I opened System Preferences, Security & Privacy/Privacy.  In Accessibility, after having scanned all my files many times, I added the following apps, some of them may be developer tools from Xcode, and gave them all control….. then did a computer restart.
AppleMobileDeviceHelper.app
AppleMobileSync.app
ARDAgent.app
Automator Runner.app
CalendarFile Handler.app
CMFSyncAgent.app
CoreServicesUIAgent.app
File Sync.app
FileSyncAgent.app
Image Events.app
iTunes.app
Migration Assistant.app
Syncrospector.app
SyncServer.app
UnmountAssistantAgent.app
USB Prober.app
I suspect it was probably overkill, but it worked.  My iPad and iPod are visible and syncing as normal in iTunes.  The program is running normally. hope it helps everyone………

  • Recently I have not been able to sync itunes radio with my wireless audio player.  What happened?

I cannot get itunes radio to sync with my wireless audio system.  It was working until recently and now only downloaded music will play.  Is this a function of the system or did itunes do something?

    Hi,
Here is a suggestion from Carolyn Samit that worked for this problem with iPads - see if following her instructions clears up the problem with your iPhone:
Launch iTunes with your iPhone connected to your Mac. Make sure the iPad is listed under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window.
From your iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Devices tab.
If there is more then one backup available, delete all but one.
Restart your iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
    Restart your Mac.
    Try to sync now.
    Hope this works for you!
    Cheers,

  • Help syncing iTunes Movie Rental to iPhone

    Hi,
I just rented a movie from the iTunes store and it plays in itunes but I can't transfer it to my iphone. I clicked on my iphone while in itunes and changed the settings to sync all movies to my iphone but nothing happens. It doesn't even show up under videos. Has anyone else had any trouble transfering rentals to their iphone. Any help would be greatly appricated.
    Thank You

    Is your iTunes version 7.6?
When I select the iPhone Video Tab, it shows 3 sections, Rented Movies, then TV Shows, then Movies. It also states in the Rented Movies section that "You must be connected to the internet to transfer rented movie."
From iTunes help: "After the movie downloads to your computer, to transfer the rental to an iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV, connect the device, select it in iTunes, click the Movies tab, select the movie, and then click Move.
After you transfer a rental, it is removed from your iTunes library."

  • Unable to sync iTunes 10.5 to iPhone 4 Verizon

I am having difficulty syncing iTunes 10.5 to my iPhone 4 Verizon phone. I downloaded iTunes 10.5 onto my Macbook and it is clearly correctly downloaded onto my Macbook. When I click on my device in iTunes, on the syncing page it says that I have software version 5.0.1 on my iPhone. I have tried syncing and downloading, restarting both my Macbook and my iPhone but nothing changes.
Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? My goal is to have iTunes on my iPhone so that I can sync music from my old PC and have all of my music on one device.
Thank you in advance to anyone who helps!

Then do you know why I get an error message from iTunes on my PC that says "The iPhone "SFASDFE iPhone" cannot be used because it requires 10.5 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes"
I downloaded the latest version of iTunes onto my iPhone and it still won't work. I downloaded the latest version onto my macbook and it still doesn't work. I downloaded the latest itunes on my PC and it still doesn't work.

  • How do I sync iTunes playlists on my iPhone with iTunes Match?

My experience with iTunes Match so far has been mixed.  On one hand, the face of iTunes on one computer to the next is virtually identical, and the streming over the wi-fi from the laptop at work to my home computer is perfect.  At the same time, iTunes Match on my iPhone seems terrible.  Playlists don't sync and are deleted from my iPhone.  Songs that are already on my phone, for some reason, still make my phone spin and drain my battery life.  Even after disabling the "allow cellular data over 3G" message, or whatever it is, is turned off, still the phone keeps spinning and draining battery life.  So, in one sense, iTunes Match is nice because I can access my music from multiple computers, but in another, the mobile connection - which should be awesome and seemless - is terrible.  Is there a way, aside from turning iTunes Match off, syncing manually to iTunes, and loading my playlists like the old way (which isn't a perfect science now, either)...Basically, how can I sync my playlists from iTunes on my computer to iTunes on my iPhone using iTunes Match?

With iTunes Match enabled on an iOS device direct syncing with iTunes via USB or Wi Fi is disabled. To sync in the traditional way iTM must be disabled on the iOS device. At this time is it either/or.

  • Why can't I sync iTunes music on my iPhone 5?

Recently, music has stopped syncing beween my iPhone and iTunes on my Mac. There are two playlists on my iPhone 5 that seem stuck there. Any iTunes sync to change playlists does nothing at all. I have tried deleting the 2 playlists directly from the iPhone, then syncing with iTunes, but the sync simply replaces those two unwanted playlists back on the iPhone, even though they are not checked to sync in iTunes on my Mac. The playlists I wish to transfer do not sync, while the unwanted ones on the iPhone can't be deleted.
I'm running the latest version of everything. Please help!

Contact whomever supports the sling player and ask them.

  • Syncing itunes music library to iphone 4s

I have recently upgraded from an iphone 3gs to an Iphone 4s.  I have successfully transferred all my apps, data etc to the new phone but my itunes music library will not sync.  The songs are showing in my music, but 90% of them are greyed out and some tracks are duplicated!.  I have tried removing itunes from my pc (I have windows xp by the way!) and re-installing it.  this has not worked.  I have tried 'downloads' from itunes from my phone and this has frozen on the first track saying download error.  I have phoned Apple support where i spent over 2 hours (on 2 occassions) trying to sort the issue out and it still doesn't work.  Please help I am getting very frustrated and don't know what to do next, surely its not meant to be this difficult to listen to a song!!!  Thankyou

If you check the manually manage music box, tehn you could drag and drop.

  • HT1386 How can I sync itunes songs onto my iphone? Using ios 6.1.3 and itunes 11.0.4.4

When I connect my iphone to itunes (USB) I am prompted to set up new iphone, or restore from back-up. I've already restored from back-up. I can't sync or manage my iphone with itunes now.
Background info: I have recently been forced to update the operating system on my iphone - the contact, pictures and most apps restored just fine. But I cannot copy the music back onto my iphone. When I plug in the phone to sync with itunes I am now prompted to set up a new phone or restore from back up. I have already restored from back up and don't need these options any more.
The syncing instructions I read show screen shots of itunes that I can no longer get to. Any syncing options I can find are greyed out and unusable.
How can I place music onto my iphone?

I appreciate your comment however, I sold my iPhone 4 and therefore cannot see how it synched before. What I do know is that I was not using the iCloud with the iPhone 4 and when Ireceived the iPhone 5 in the mail, I took it to the local Apple Store for some user education... The person in the store set this up.
I have been an iphone user since the first phone was selling. I love the product and this issue is troublesome to me.
I do wish that this problem would have been brought to my attention prior to purchasing. I waited weeks for delivery of the phone and thought I was advancing into the the future, not reversing in time.
Looks like I have to re-create about 300 notes by hand!  UGH!

  • Updating iphone 4s to ios 8, install failed for unkown reasons, trying to restore iphone and asked for password. I enter my itunes password then my iphone lock password and still get error message wrong password. What password do they want?

Trying to update iphone 4s to ios 8. Install failed for "unknown reasons". Trying to restore I phone from I tunes, asked for password to complete restore. I enter ITunes password and then iphone lock password and neither is accepted. What password is required?

I think the password it asked is the one that you used to encrypt iPhone backup.

  • Can not sync iTunes to Contacts on iPhone

I just upgraded my internal HD to 1TB.  Reinstalled Snow Leopard.  Now when i sync my iphone it says "iTunes could not sync contacts because an error occured while sending data from the phone".  Both MacBook and iphone are current rev.

Did you restore the HD with a copy of the original drive?

  • Having problems syncing iTunes from mac to iPhone. Help?

Trying to a sync an itunes genius playlist from mac to iphone. Message appears on iphone that says"88 items could not be synced. See iTunes for more info." Any advice?

Are you syncing contacts direct with the Address Book on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, or over the air with MM on your iPhone?
If you are doing the former, this has nothing to do with a problem with your MM online address book.
If you are doing the former, try resetting the sync history on your Mac, which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder.
    Quit iTunes and launch iSync.
At iSync preferences, select reset sync history.
Restart your Mac and try syncing with iTunes again.
