1.2 Saddens me to see no basic improments besides fixes

Question

While bugs and basic fixes are needed I am sadden to not see any new improvements. Like a new text field in the print contact mode. Or even though it works quicker changes do not reflect in Bridge even with 4.2 update and having meda data updated to raw and sidecar files. Or adding Bridge web galleries.........plus a lot of what has been discussed in future wants. For the amount of $ and great resources at Adobe. It does sadden me to see such slowness and incompleteness.
So now we have to wait till 1.3....Ugh!

Sorry you are so defensive, Butch. The post of yours to which I replied mentioned only one type of shooting that sounded, to me, like a very controlled, consistent environment.
But WB is only one factor, and LR does handle it fine. I never wrote that LR was a "piece of crap" as you implied that I said. I didn't "piss and moan"; I just pointed out some shortcomings of LR.
Maybe I'm ignorant, but I can't find a way with LR crop or resize to an arbitrary size, (e.g 1500x1000 pixels or 8x10 inches (that is not the same thing as aspect ratio), and have it show up on the screen at 1:1 for that size, much less see the sharpening effect at any size other than 1:1 of the original image. If you can do that with Lightroom, please explain to me how.
Even my 10 year old license for PictureWindowPro can show all transformation effects (including sharpening) at arbitrary sizes, at 1/3 the cost of LR.
If Lightroom is not an output sharpener, then why put sharpening in LR at all if it's only useful at 1:1 zoom of the original image? I don't find it useful enough unless I output at 1:1 with respect to the original image.
If one is working only with JPGs sharpened in-camera, then perhaps it's not an issue. But some of us work with RAW, which by definition, is unsharpened and almost always requires sharpening before output.
And you have to "go to PSCS3 and PhotoKit" for all output, then perhaps there's a major hole in the LR workflow! What's the point of non-destructive edits in web/slide/print modules if you have to set sharpening in static TIF or JPG files for each medium and size, and import/stack and label the separate renderings, and eat up all that extra storage space. Make a later change to the original LR non-desctructive edits? Oops, have to go back to the external tools again and re-do the import/stack/label/store even more renderings.
Seems to me that virtual copies that allowed both arbitrary resizing and sharpening preview at the arbitrary size would be a reasonable way to go. That way, you could select the size-specific virtual copies for web output, print. I think I submitted that suggestion shortly after I got my hands on LR 1.0, but I can't recall.
And your sarcasm about Flash is misplaced. I never implied that it made all surfing difficult and I did say that it is useful (for certain types of presentations that are best conveyed by animation).
Rather, my complaint is that it interferes with the users ability to navigate web content in the direction and at the speed that the USER desires, which is the point of the WWW. And requiring manual or dynamic downloads of specific versions of "rich client" technology (proprietary or not) exposes the browsers to more security holes, configuration management problems, etc. than does plain-old HTML. The different JavaScript implementations in different browsers are bad enough; I'll overlook proprietary MSFT JScript for the sake of this thread.
I never said that LR workflow is bad; in fact I like the overall idea; it has helped my workflow, but it's current limitations are still frustrating to me and to others. I'm glad you are happy with it and Adobe is to be complimented on putting so many modules into a 1.x release.
But it needs enhancements to all modules that we probably will not see without paying for a new relea$e. Major new features are worth paying for in a new relea$e; making all existing features work up to standards and needs of the target audience is, arguably, properly done in maintenance and minor version releases.
