Hallo Forum,
I wonder if I can make the worksheet remember 1/3 SQL window and 2/3 result grid size. Whenever I open a new SQL Developer and a new worksheet, I get a large SQL window and the result grid is shrinked to a minimum.
Do I miss something or does SQL Developer not save its window positions and size anymore?

Remembering the divider location should be across sessions. I'll call it a bug in the implementation that its remembers only for the session.
I guess any assumption on split ratio would be wrong. With this feature implemented correctly, we can leave it to individuals to pull the divider where they want it.
Wrt. the keyboard accelerator to "minimize"/"maximize" the worksheet/results area, I hope you have seen that Ctrl-Alt-L is a toggle. Press it once more.
The idea is to give max space to either text area / results but at the same time do not vanish them, since in absence of an alternate visual clue, many folks would begin "searching" the "lost" text area / results.

Have Photoshop remember panel size

My panel has dynamic content so its size need to be adjusted by the user after it has loaded.
However, whenever I restart Photoshop the panel resizes to the dimensions set in Configurator.
Is it possible to have Photoshop remember its last size?
My panel is created with Configurator 4.

This should already be possible if the "Persistent" option is set to "Yes". In Configurator, you can find this setting on the righthand side, in the "Basic Attributes" section.
If you have already exported a panel, you can modify it without re-exporting by modifying your panel's xml file. This should be located within its "content" folder, and would be named after the project, as: "<ProjectName>.xml". Inside that file, usually about 5 lines down, is a line that contains the property setting "persistent=" (either "true" or "false"). Set that to true, and the panel size should be maintained between sessions.
I just tested with a project of mine to make sure I wasn't full of it, and it worked even after shutting down and restarting PS.

Some programs won't remember window size and position

I have a couple programs, notably ComicNerd, that won't ever seems to remember window size or position from quit to restart. I can't seems to find any evidence other people are having the same problem with the program, so I assume it's something wrong with my computer. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this? Is there some permissions problem or something?

It's likely a corrupted Preference file
Look in your Users/Library/Preferences folder for .plist file with ComicNerd in it and just move it to your desktop and restart the program/computer.
The preference file should rebuild itself, so look for it and if it's in the Preference folder then delete the one on the desktop.
You also might want to run ALL the cleaning and maintenance aspects of the free OnyX and reboot.

Remembering Window Sizes/Positions in Windows 7

however it doesn't address my issue.
For me, anytime I open a software, position it, play around in it and then close it, and reopen it again, it never goes back to the size/position I set it to. Same with Outlook. When I open a new email window, set its size and position, the next new email
window is never where it needs to be.
Is there a way for windows/outlook to remember where my software windows should be based on a position/size I give it?

You can know that how windows remembers the Window size.
Regarding your outlook issue, you may close outlook then delete the frame key from HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Message\ and restart outlook. This will reset the window to the default size.

Sure, I have them all written down on scraps of paper about 4"X4"--maybe 50 total--and stored under a loose floorboard beneath the kitchen sink. If they get wet from a drain leak, I can easily dry them out in a warm oven at 200° for several minutes.
Besides that, I keep some in Keychain, but most are in Firefox saved passwords. I've never felt the need to do anything else. Where it's important, I use long random strings. And I don't let Firefox save passwords for anything that involves purchases from C Cards.
(Note: I really do have the ones written down on scraps of paper that I don't want to keep in a browser, but not really under a loose flooboard, etc.)

JRE Installation in directory having space in its name.

I have installed JRE in a directory say /proj/pmcfg/akostha/USM 0.5.15.2/jre1.3/
when i cun java from /proj/pmcfg/akostha/test dir/jre1.3/bin directory..it says
grep: can't open /proj/pmcfg/akostha/USM
grep: can't open 0.5.15.2/jre1.3/bin/./../lib/jvm.cfg
and when i run
"/proj/pmcfg/akostha/USM 0.5.15.2/jre1.3/bin/java" from other directory
it says
Error: can't find libjava.so.
what is the reason..If it is not recommended to install JRE in a directory having space in its name.
or else what is the work around.I'm using SunOS5.6. Saprc

I'm not sure about Solaris, and my proposal might also only work for some shells, but with bash under linux, you have to escape spaces that appear in file/diretory names, so instead of saying "my directory", you have to say "my\ directory" (without quotes).
Or try maybe "my directory" (with quotes) - that would be teh M$ way to do it.

Image manipulation and keeping its size same

I am working on an iPad application which allow user to redact portion of an image. Currently i have added UIView to my imageView and draw brush path using UIBezierPath and save the image by taking snapshot of my Uiimageview. Everythings working fine except the image size, suppose my image is of 1.5 Mb then after saving an image it reduces to 0.5Mb.
My requirement is that after saving image my image size should not reduce.

Open the file in Preview and select "Save as..." from the File menu. Select "Reduce File Size" from the Quartz Filter menu and save. The size probably won't be reduced enough, though. You may have to split the file into several parts and mail them separately. Or upload it to a web server and send the link.

How to force Adobe Reader to remember window size

I need Adobe Reader to remember window size and placement. I work on a remote desktop enlarged into two screens and i need Adobe Reader to open on one of them, but default settings open window in the middle of the screen so half of window is one one screen and half is on second one...
Is there a way to do it?

All of a sudden, the "save" page occupies all of my screen and I can't find a way to reduce its size -- this never happened before -- very inconvenient

When I click on "save" the resulting dialogue box fills the entire screen. I'm unable to reduce its size by using the mouse to pull in the borders of the dialogue box, and I can't find any other way to reduce it. This problem appeared spontaneously. It didn't start immediately after installing a new plug-in or a new Firefox release -- it just happened one day. I've used Firefox for years and never had this very inconvenient problem before.

Is it the dialog that appears for Save Page As? Like other windows, it could be maximized/restored by double-clicking the title bar. Does that make any difference?
If not, it might be necessary to rename or delete the localstore.rdf file, which stores window positions and related settings...

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

Why did rebuilding my Aperture library increase its size by 50 GB?

After updating to 3.3, library conversion was no problem, but I rebuilt the library today and its size increased from 125 GB to 173 GB. This is large enough to be discomforting. All masters (orginals, I guess, now) are referenced.

I have maintain previews off. For ones that I need (like to share with iPhone, Flickr, etc.), I generate them manually. I might try deleting all previews and see what happens to the library size.
I rebuilt because vault updates (for both exisiting and new vaults) were hanging.
