1/8 in. black line left side portrait on hpclj 3525n; what is causing this?
I am experiencing a 1/8 inch black line about 2 inches in from the left side of a portrait printed page. Can you tell me what might be causing this?

This could be caused by several things in the printer. The first thing to check is the black toner cartridge.

I have pages 09 version 4.1... It is a small aggravation.. The left 3 or 4 characters on the return address would not print until I realized that by clicking on
" View " & " Show Lay-Out " that it was out side the printable range ...It seems to be a Pages template " Print range " issue.. Both the Epson and the HP printers were doing it and it was today that I realized why.. !!
When I move it to where it will print there is large gap on the left margin of the return address.. Just wondering if anyone else knew about this.. ? My Pages is ' 09 ' version 4.1... -

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
Laserjet P3500 printing solid black edge left side of paper
Just started recently having this problem. Left side of page has solid black line about 1/4" wide top to bottom. I checked register of paper and it is perfect. Using windows XP Pro on a Dell computer. I checked the green roller and it is clean. Using genuine HP cartridge. Don't know what else I can tell you about this problem

Use the built-in print quality troubleshooting pages to help diagnose and solve print quality problems.
Press MENU to enter the MENUS .
Press (Down arrow) to highlight DIAGNOSTICS .
Press (Select) to select DIAGNOSTICS .
Press (Down arrow) to highlight PQ TROUBLESHOOTING .
Press (Select) to print the pages.
The printer returns to the Ready state after printing the print quality troubleshooting pages. If print quality defects are found when reviewing the print quality troubleshooting pages, perform a printer calibration. See the following section "Calibrating the printer " for more information.
Calibrate the printer
Calibration is a printer function that optimizes print quality. If experiencing any print quality problems, calibrate the printer.
Press (Select) to enter the MENUS .
Press (Down arrow) to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE .
Press (Select) to select CONFIGURE DEVICE .
Press (Down arrow) to highlight PRINT QUALITY .
Press (Select) to select PRINT QUALITY .
Press (Down arrow) to highlight CALIBRATE NOW .
Press (Select) to select CALIBRATE NOW .
Wait for the printer to calibrate.

I just purchased a new macbook pro. Have had it about 2 weeks. Last night there were 2 thin lines that are on the left side of the desktop, 1 green and 1 blue from top to bottom. This happened after I added a printer. Anyone know what this is. Fearing that is a flaw in the screen.
Sounds like a hardware problem. You'll need to contact Apple ASAP. Since it's so new, hopefully they will just replace it rather than making you go through the repair process, but that's up to them.

Black bar left side when importing
When importing Quicktime HDV 1080i60 video into an HD project, I wind up with a black bar on the left side of the movie. I've tried every combination of HD format and preference setting. Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong?
For everyone who is interested, I tried some more things:
I had a long phone call today with Apple Support (when upgrading to Mountain Lion you get 90 days phone support again) and we did similar things.
First: change the settings - didnt work
Second: Option+Cmd+P+R to reset PRAM - didnt work either
Third: create a new partition, clean install mountain lion and see if the problem still exists. At the beginning it worked but after once changing the resolution it cant get back to the correct displaying anymore. Same problem also.
They said that then it is probably the fact that the driver of the display doesnt work with ML - I should contact Acer now.
Or I should get back to the technical helpdesk again.
Will try both...
But it means that it is a software issue caused by ML.

Over the past couple of months, my iPhone 3GS has had dead spots on the left side of the screen, preventing me from using the r, d and x keys, the number 4 and the semi colon and comma keys. Does anybody have any ideas on why this has happened or any ideas that I'll be able to fix this problem?
Just a note; I can't put my phone to sleep or turn off as my lock button isn't working, so I'm using the AssistiveTouch settings.

This has no impact on the ability to purchase a new iPhone... it simply means that the newer one will not be at a fully subsidized price.
You could always take it to Apple and do an Out of Warranty exchange (I'm assuming the device is out of warranty) for $149 US. -

My MacBook pro is just over 3 years old now and the screen has totally blacked out for a few seconds at a time. It will come back on in a few seconds with the exception this past month it has stayed black for a longer period of time like one minute. It scares me to think that one of these times it won't come back on. I have noticed it happens more often when I am using just the battery power. Does anyone have any idea what causes this? just to mention my battery was not low when this happens.

if your MacBook Pro is a 15-inch Mid 2010 model (“MacBookPro6,2”), then it might be exhibiting the defect that is documented on this Apple Support page. If your black screen is due to this defect, then that page states that Apple will service this problem on this specific model of MacBook Pro gratis, for three years from the date of purchase. However, some commenters here have noted that sometimes the servicing is done gratis without having proof of the date of purchase. If you have an Apple Store near you, you might consider bringing your MacBook Pro there to have them check for the presence of this defect.
It is only the 15-inch Mid 2010 model that has this problem; no other model suffers from it. -
My iPad is dim on one side. What would cause this?
What may cause uneven screen brightness on iPad 3? I have noticed this briefly on my new iPad right out of the box. It didn't remain after I powered down and restarted. It occurred on the right side with the home button down.
Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

I've created a Photoshop PDF and all the text is editable in the resulting PDF.
The PDF created by Photoshop is completely editable, all text! I put it through indesign so I could add crop marks and reduce the pdf file size and now all the text is editable except one line!
I've not used any faux styles or effects...what could be causing this?

I have lines from the top of the screen to the bottom 4 lines. They are the size of the cursor and the one on the right acts like the cursor. Blinks. The other day I brought compuer up and I have a white transparent line right down the center of the screen about 1/8 inch thick. Does anyone know what is cauing this? Also computer is running slow.
Post a screen shot if you can by pressing cmd+shift+4 for only a certain section or cmd+shift+3 for a full screen shot.

Changing ruler guide color not working
