1.99 purchase costs nearly $500.00!!

Hi,
I feel so sick, have just in the last hour recieved a phone call from my bank, warning me of larger suns of money being tallied on my credit card through iTunes?, and had I been on there? Well yes I had, to purchase my 3 young sons on their dragonvale game gems worth $1.99 each......."no she said, much more than that.............4 different purchases up to $452.00 to be exact.
I only know my password, and had myself sat there and purchased the gems and given the ipods back to the boys............Yes they may have pressed another purchase,/ But should they be able to? I have left 2 emails with Itunes support, I feel sick to the stomach, I cannot afford this charge? Has anyone else out there had the same experience, or know what I can do next, Please help?
K

This is an old post, but in case anyone else comes arcross this via a search as drmicey apparently did, first, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPad. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case the child gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately. For more information, see:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases by children. No guarantees, though, just as if your child was in a store and ate a bunch of food (in other words, something that can't just be returned).
Good luck.

  • Please note that i am seeking some assistance with adding the followng resource: A maximum of 4 resources can be added at an additional cost of $500 per day per resource.

Hi, Please note that i am seeking some assistance with adding the following resource to a task in Microsoft Project 2010:
A maximum of 4 resources can be added at an additional cost of $500 per day per resource.

    Hi Clemence,
Your post has quite little details, but as far as I understand, you want to add 4 resources on a task, each resource costing 500$ a day. Since it is not mentionned if it is generic resources (skill or role) or named resources, I'll assume that it is generic
resources. Based on this understanding, here is a proposal:
    Go to the resource sheet,
Create a work generic resource ("type" field set to "work", "generic" field to "yes"), typing in the resource name field the skill name,
In the max unit field, enter 400% for 4 resources (for just 4 if  your Project 2010 is configured to display units in decimals),
Since the rate is an hourly rate, make the calculation : 500$ per day / 8 hours a day = 62,5$ per hour,
Go back to the Gantt Chart, split the window (click "detail" in the view tab of the ribbon),
Select your task and assign the newly created resource with a given % units.
    Hope this helps.

  • Hi, I have just downloaded lion and my Photoshop CS is not supported.....why why why. This update will cost me $500 ! Totally useless update

I have just downloaded LION as an update and it is OK, not great but OK. However I am furious because it does not support Photoshop CS for Mac! Great so this update is now going to cost me 500 dollars for a new Photoshop. Well done Apple why is this not supported and why should I buy more software. THIS IS BAD BAD BAD!. Don't update to Lion until you check your other software will run! Does anyone know how to revert back to Snow Leopard or get your money back from Apple.

First off, learn how you must be prepared for Lion before installing:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2465
Next consider one of three courses:
    1. If most of your software is supported, and you don't presently have a backup of your older system, get an external hard drive larger than your current,
partition it for enough space for Snow Leopard and your present Lion installation on your hard drive allowing for at least 15% of each partition to have free space after cloning Lion and installing Snow Leopard and your Snow Leopard only compatible applications.
    2. If very little of your software is supported, and you don't presently have a backup, get an external hard drive, Install Snow Leoaprd on it, and recover your data on it after using the Migration Assistant to import the data from the Lion on the internal that is compatible with Snow Leopard, and the install applications from your CDs.    Once you have it working on your external hard drive, clone it back to your internal, and get a refund from the App Store:
    http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact.html?form=account
    3. If you have a backup from before installing Snow Leopard, just erase and install Snow Leopard, and contact the App Store support for a refund.
    http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact.html?form=account
    Good luck!

  • HT1657 If I rent a movie & decide to buy it later... Will the rental cost be deducted from the movie purchase cost? (E.g. $19.99 - $2.99)

If I rent a movie & decide to buy it later... Will the rental cost be deducted from the movie purchase cost? (E.g. $19.99 - $2.99)

No, you will be charged the full price, there is no discount for having previously rented it.

  • What does the "add more sounds" in app purchase cost in GarageBand?

I ask because there is no indication of the cost when Apple asks for my ID and Password. In IOS completing that would mean I own it.
    Thanks

if you open the Mac App Store app and find GarageBand the side bar under "Top In-App Purchases" says "Complete set of content $4.99" (US)

  • ITunes In-App Purchases costing up to $4 more than advertised? Help!

Hello Apple community, thanks for trying to help me out.
Recently, I added my Paypal student debit card to my iTunes account. Right off the bat, Apple took $1 out of my account. I shrugged this off, thinking that it would come back (it did). Later down the road, I downloaded Bad Piggies from the App Store (it was free that week). Then, I bought the "Field of Dreams" In App Purchase for $0.99. Just a few minutes ago, I checked my Paypal balance. It says Apple subtracted $5.97 for the purchase. I am %100 sure that it is the right subtraction. Please assist me, as I wouldn't like my eWallet to be empty!!
    Regards,
    Ryan

what happens is you download a "free" app then inside the game the gems or whatever costs money and you think they are free... if anyone else is playing the game they could be purchasing things inside the apps/games that you are unaware of.
Check with itunes at expresslane.apple.com and either talk to a live advisor or send them an email and they can tell you what is going on!

  • Usb pin bend in macbook air(mid 2011,bought in april 2012) demands a complete replacement of the logic board which costs around $500.Is it justified?

I had recently purchased a macbook air mid 2011 in india (surat) and to my surprise two out of four pins of the usb slot on the right side got bent while trying to insert a usb pendrive.I was shocked when the store said that it was a physical damage and it will not be considered in the warranty(apple care protection plan) and i would have to pay around $500 to replace the logic board with the new one since the usb port was directly mounted on it.
I have been using the usb port since the time it had came to market and i know how to plug in a usb drive. There is no case of inserting the usb pendrive inverted as the structure of the usb port itself explains it.
I have already read the discussions on such an issue and many people have got the logic board repaired by the company.
But i will be thankful to the person who has gone through the same situation and put forward his experience about how to get a "fast response repair from apple"  in response to this discussion.

Applecare was no help at all. I called and did the complaint. They confirmed that it is registered to me and everything but essetially told me that they cant give me answers as to what is taking so long. They knew a repair was in progress but wanted to set me up with an appointment at an apple store? (the nearest Apple retail store is Billings which is 240 miles away, or about 4 hours). i tell them its at the repair place and they go on to tell me they can send me a box to mail it in and have it reapir by them.. They are trying to shift the blame to the AASP and his rep. But he said he has been trying with very few answers from Apple as well

  • Need to Track Purchasing Cost for Project without attaching to PO ?

    Hello Guys,
Can any one Help me on this Question,
Iam raising a genric Purchase Order for materials without attaching the Project/Task,But I use Materials for many Projects ? How do I track Cost for Materials utilized for a Projects ?
    Regards,
    Satish

    Hi
If you are purchasing goods for inventory you can get your requirement.
Receive the goods into the inventory.
Later on, you can issue items from inventory to any project, and that transaction will be collected into Oracle Projects as expenditure items on the receiving project.
you may want to review Oracle Projects Implementation Guide, and look for the section - Implementing Oracle Inventory for Projects Integration.

  • NANO WON'T STORE ANYWHERE NEAR 500 SONGS

MY NANO SHOWS THAT IT HAS 171 SONGS ON IT, (691.3 MB). ON I-TUNES IT SHOWS THAT I HAVE USED 1.75 GB AND ONLY HAVE 72.3 MB LEFT FREE. WHERE DID ALL THE REST OF MY 2 GIG MEMORY GO. I ALSO DON'T HAVE ANY PHOTOS ON THE NANO AND HAVEN'T PUT ON ANY OTHER IFORMATION OR DATA ON THE NANO.

    Hi dannyj,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
If it's full then the problem is with the conversion bit rate used when loading the CD into iTunes.
    Convert
iTunes gives you the ability to convert music files from one file format to another. You can also convert a file to the same format, but use different options. For example, you can convert some high-bitrate MP3 files to a lower bitrate to fit more of them on an MP3 CD. Note that music purchased from the iTunes Music Store can't be converted.
Search iTunes help for Convert to find instructions on how to change the bit rate to a lower setting.
Full instructions from Apple here iTunes: About the Add to Library, Import, and Convert functions
    Regards
    Colin R.
ps Can I ask you not to post in ALL CAPITALS - It's not easy to read and is also considered to be the equivalent of shouting on the Forums.

  • Unauthorized app purchases costing me $15...

My little sister comes to be every other week or so and asks me to buy her an app on my phone, and I always say no. I tell her to get the free ones and make herself a folder with all of her games in it. So she recently downloaded this Zombie Cafe game and has already purchased $15 worth of "toxin." Apparently what had happened, according to her, was I had just finished getting (buying) a new song on my phone when she had gotten the app and it always tells her to put in a password beforehand, but what I'm thinking is that since I had recently put in my password to get the song, it has that 15 minutes of "free for all" where you can do anything without the need of my password. So she took advantage of this and spent $15 on this little virtual game... Is there any possible way that I could get this money back?
Also: These purchases were not consecutive. I've been adding songs to my playlist periodically today, and she said that she waits until after I have done so to ask me to use my phone, so she obviously knows what she's doing. How can this be fair? Is there any possible way I could get my money back for her devilish ways???

All sales are final at the Apple itunes store.  It is your responsibility if you are letting someone else use your iphone to make purchases, free or not.  When you make a purchase and enter a password, that opens the purchase "lane" for 5 or so minutes; i.e. other purchases do not require passwords.  Seems your sister is more knowledgeable than you regarding the ins and outs of iOS.  What's wrong with making her pay for her tomfoolery (I'm being kind).

  • Is my Power Mac G5 with 2 x GHz that cost nearly £2000 now finished.

My Power Mac G5 has 8Gb of ram with 2 x GHz processors and runs like a dream. I mainly use it to record music for Television. The man in the Mac shop told me I can't upgrade my system to Snow Leopard. That's not very good is it.
However I'm sure the kind people at Macintosh will respect the fact that there are many customers who bought PPC Macs not so long ago and don't plan on buying brand new replacements quite yet since they are still happy with their current machines.
Does anyone know whether Steven Jobs plans to allow us PPC users to upgrade to Mac's "Lion" OS next year?

I recall how a lot of service bureau systems stayed with OS 9 because "it works" and all their workflow and graphic design really didn't need all new software, hardware, etc.
Your G5 2.0DP came out in Oct 2003.
My SE/30 was a great buy in 1989 for $4100 too, but replaced that with Quadra 650 and then PM7100 and eventually some G3s and G4.
People with Snow Loepard complain about how it is a memory hog, sluggish, Safari 5 doesnt' run well, issues with Java, Flash and more.
You could pick up an iMac from Apple Store Specials next year after Lion has been out and had time to iron it out.
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac/imac
Lion sounds like a lot of... consumer mobile support for pads, phones, and all these new fangled gadgets and new interface. Give it a year or two to mature. I still don't see that the path from Tiger to Leopard and on to Snow Leopard were more than some service packs and optimizing the kernel to be able to boot 64-bit kernel (like Vista 4 yrs ago).

  • Refurbished iPad 1st gen -purchase costs

Does anyone know how I find out what the lowest price charged for a refurb iPad 32g 1st gen was?  I bought one a few months ago for my daughters christmas but now realise this was a bit silly as the prices keep dropping!! However my cc had an insurance policy on it so if the prices paid reduces further, I get a refund of the difference!  Have phoned apple cust services but they say they can't find this info.

Seems to me you answered your own question:  The lowest price keeps getting lower.  Have you checked the Refurb page on Apple's website?

  • K8D Master 3-FA4R

where can i get this board? there are only 62 matches for it on google :( and i need it to be shipped to ireland/ uk.. any idea on how much they cost? whats the deal with single and dual cpu's? if i want to use it as dual processor do i need to buy 2 "dual" cpu's?

These boards are very expensive, don't be suppriced if they cost near € 500-600...
You can use the 2xx series for single as well and add a second later.
Don't buy the 1xx series as they can't be used for dual operation.

  • I can't use my built in iSight on Windows anymore.

I updated to leopard (finally) and now after updating drivers on Windows XP, apparently the iSight driver didn't install correctly, because every time I load up windows it says it is trying to install the driver, but fails. I've tried manually installing the driver from the disk, reinstalling all the drivers, and even using the repair feature, but nothing seems to be fixing it.
    What should I do next.

I have tried to do a couple things, all with no avail.
Firstly, I checked this forum, searched and scoured it, and can't seem to find much about my situation, and what I did find I already knew.
After that I called customer service, but after finding it would cost nearly 500 dollars to renew my apple care, I just gave up on that idea. I would appreciate any personal suggestions of yours for how to proceed.
I do not use Windows®. My best suggestions are those above.
If you do not want to ask your local Apple retailer for help, and if you do not get the answers you need here or from your study of Apple's Boot Camp Support info, the best remaining idea I have to offer is searching or posting in
      http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1244
Whether reviewing the Boot Camp Support info or posting in the Boot Camp Forum, be sure to consider (and identify in your posts) whether you are using XP SP2 or SP3 and which Boot Camp and Boot Camp driver update versions you are using. Although I have never tried to use Windows® on a Mac, my brief review of the Boot Camp Support info leads me to believe that the version information is relevant to any troubleshooting and possible suggestions.
