SOLVED IT !!. You have to flash the bios to the most current version. Then i used ntune software to optimize the system and last iwnet into the bios and selected optimize settings F7 rebooted and fixed !!!

MSI Neo 2 platinum with San Diego or Venice

Here are my results with my Neo2/3000+ Venice:
I use different apps to OC in Windows after booting with safe settings that I know work. That way if I use an app and push to far, the PC will reset with safe BIOS settings. The key for getting more vcore is to not set the first setting at anything higher than 1.45v. Setting anything after that will only result in it reading as 1.45v - as in your example, where you are setting 1.55v+10% and it only reads 1.59v...That is the same as 1.45v+10%.
What you'll need to do is install Core Center. Once installed go to Start/All Programs/Start Up, and delete it from there. That will keep it from starting everytime you restart the PC, and only run when you click on the icon. Next, boot at the highest vcore you need to, or 1.45v+10% if you need all 1.59v. Once Windows has loaded open Core Center and use the voltage options there to bump it up slowly. Both my brother and I have Neo2's and I can get 1.725v, while he can get 1.78v to work, all on BIOS v1.A...Hope this helps, good luck.
Also, if you don't have them, programs like Core Center, the A64 Tweaker, and Clock Gen are very handy and work really well when OCing. Be careful and have fun!

  • How to use Real time execution trace toolkit with Dual-core processor??

    hi there
    the situation as follows:
i have a computer (PC and Laptop) types with Dual-core processors, and am trying to do simulation using Multi-core technology and based on different simulation scenarios...starting from sequantial processing,.......Piple lining processing strategy. so that i can differentiate the time delay between those types of processing based on (Using 1 processor then dual-core processor Computers)
my question is: As i read through Ni's white papers i saw many notes refer to Real-time execution trace toolkit to investigate the (processing-time , etc) of multi-core processors in processing diffenent algorithms. My algorithms are to be run on 1 computer with dual-core processor BUT, not in real time environments, that is ( No hardware to be connected to my pc) only algorithms running on my pc....
So, is it possible to use Real time execution trace toolkit  or anyother tools in LabVIEW to show processing-delays and/or anyother timing critical issues without using my application for  real- time hardware.???
in other words: how to use Real time execution trace toolkit  in non-hardware and/or real-time scenarios???
    please help me in this.
Any suggestion, comments, feedback.....is absolutely highly appreciated
    thanks a lot in advance
    Labview Lover

    Hey,
The Realtime Execution Trace Toolkit only works for NI RT Targets.
But you can use the Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit, just search for it under ni.com.

  • Is there no external power option for new MacBook pro with dual core?

Is there no external power option for a MacBook pro 17 with dual core. Apparently apple doesn't offer one and I can't ind any who does

The funny thing is, I've seen loads of cheap "replacement" MagSafe adapters on eBay, Amazon and in local shops. On eBay, they cost (new) about $26, on Amazon I've seen them as cheap as $17!!, against the $80 that Apple charges. And apparently, it's not worth it to pursue the matter, it's been going on for more than a year now.
made of pure unobtanium and guarded by packs of rabid lawyers, someone is shooting themselves in the foot by making the power bricks so frail that the secondary damaged goods recovery market grows without bounds...
I really dig that unobtainium reference :-)
What I've found is that the bricks aren't so frail but the DC cord is! Apparently that's difficult to make resilient, with the characteristics that Apple wanted them to have. Out of every ten broken MagSafe adapters I've seen, only two actually have failed electronics, five have frayed DC wiring and three have a broken MagSafe connector.

  • MSI Neo 2 platinum with San Diego or Venice

    Hey guys,
How do you guys get high clocks (2.8ghz +) using any of the bioses for MSI neo 2 platinum EXCEPT for 1.36b for Venice or san diego?.. For all the other bioses, the max vcore is 1.55V + 10%. But even at this limit, the vcore for me is only ~1.59V as detected by the bios, MBM, CPUZ and core center. So i dont know how to give my CPU more juice without using 1.36.. I dont want to use 1.36 because it doesnt support my memory controller and my computer is unstable. I want to use a newer bios that supports san diego's, but i also want high vcore to keep my computer stable at 2.9Ghz. I have used 2.9Ghz before using 1.36 bios but i need 1.4 + 15% vcore (CPUZ and MBM report 1.62V). This was stable using prime 95 for 24hours.... ne suggestions? thanks

  • Msi info viewer with dual core?

    hi all,
    msi k8t neo mobo
    amd 3800 x2 dual core
    1 gig ram
    600gb raid sata
quick question, in msi info viewer should the cpu tab read ' number of processors 2 ' ?? at the moment it is 1.
as i am using a dual core chip!!  i can see all the details if using cpu-z, the reason why im asking
is how can i tell if windows is seeing both cores of the cpu??
    thanks in adavance
    dewi.

First forget MSI's cute utils as often they simply don't operate well. They are made for many systems yes but they don't always work well.
Best to chack with CPUz to see if both cores are working or in Task Manager as it will show you a graph for each CPU if Windows sees both cores.
If you can still see just one core then check device manager. Under the CPU area you should not see uniprocessor. If that is what is shown then delete it and restart Windows. It should then plug and play a Multi Processor driver and you should be good to go.

  • MSI P55 GD80 compatible with Intel COre i7 Extreme 965

hye there, i just wanted to know is the new p55 GD80 fits with intel core i7 extreme 965??..
as far as i concern, p55 mobo compatible with any i5 or i7 board, is that true.?

    The p55 stands for the chipset , so it's a p55 chipset and no x58 chipset ,.
    The p55 is only compatible with cori i5 and core i7 starting with 8... ( 860 , 870) it support only dual channel memory and not triple like the core i7 9... (920 , 940 , 950 965 ,975).
The core i5 and core i7 860 ,870 has the pci-e controller integrated so you have only 1x16 or 2x 8x8  or 1x8 and 2x4 for triple sli in sli or crossfire. The core i7 9.... with x58 chipset have 2x 16 pci-e or 1x16 and 2x8 for triple sli , so for highend multi gpu's the x58 has a advantage and it has triple channel memory , but it is a small advantage.
See here the socket  it support and if it has hyper-treathing or not.
The core i5 750 has no hyper-treathing the core i 7 does, no matter what socket ( 1156 or 1366)

  • Problem with Dual Core Center and MSI 3870

Hello again, my previous thread is this:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=113164.0
The VGA works well, the problem is that AFTER i installed it the Dual Core Center stoped to work!!
Installed the dotnetfix again but no avail, still doesn't work.
And i know that happened after installed the VGA, so i believe that must be part of the problem.
    Thanks!

Try the latest version of Dual Core Center.

  • Xp-120 on msi neo plat (754) with arctic rev3 agp cooler

I want to put a thermalright xp-120 on my msi neo plat s754 board. looking at some pics, the heatpipes seem very close to the agp slot.
I have an arctic cooling rev3 cooler on my connect3d 9800pro, and I'm not sure if there is enough clearance between the heatpipe and the bracket on the side of the AGP card.
anyone else got this setup working ?

  • NX7600GT Diamond Plus and fan speed with Dual Core Center

I just got a NX 7600GT Diamond Plus for my HTPC. I noted that Riva Tuner and other utilities are not able to control the fan speed of the video card. The only way one can control the fan speed is via Dual Core Center and 3D Core Cell. The problem is that the default setting for fan speed on Dual Core Center is too high and clearly audible. How can I get Dual Core Center to start with user defined presets during windows start-up/boot-up ?
What I want to do is to put the fan into 'SILENT' mode automatically during Dual Core Center start-up. Any ideas / suggestions ?

well no need to edit manually, MSI provided everythink in easy way from core center.
select advanced mode, create your custom profile pickup your desired settings,(setup maximum FAN RPM via buttons) and save it to custom profile.
suggest you to read help section from program.
So the custom profile is automatically loaded every time DualCoreCenter starts up ? Maybe there is something wrong with my install of DCC, I cannot get it to load custom profiles automatically upon startup. I can save the changes to say "User Profile 1" but the profile active on startup always is the "default" profile ...

after installing and running MSI's "dual core center" (including .Net framework) I only have the "VGA" option enabled, the "MB" option is disabled as well as the D.O.T option. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as downloading the latest version, but I have the same problem. I get no MB options at all (like no cpu temp, fan speed, core speed etc.). • Jagged wavy lines edge of CRT display with Dual Core Mac mini

My friend recently bought a Dual Core Intel Mac mini and when hooking it up to a 19 inch MAG monitor there are often wavy lines on the edges of the screen. They go up and down both sides, are jagged, and also are not static but moving quickly. Sometimes it seems to behave normally while other times if it doesn't show up on the boot screen it will show up after a little bit of use.
At first it seems that the more stuff I opened the worse it got, so I thought it could be the shared video RAM as he did not upgrade from the original 512 , but that should only slow the computer down anyway. Now I think rather than the RAM I think it could be related to the Apple DVI to VGA adapter, resloution/refresh rate, or just bad video hardware. I can't rule out that it just won't play nice with the majority of CRT monitors out there either. Sometimes changing the resolution/refresh rate helps and other time it doesn't. From what I heard my friend experienced wavy lines somewhat on his own monitor but I don't think it did it when using a DVI to HDMI cable to his Sony 50 LCD (and I didn't see it when hooking it up to mine either).
If anyone has any idea what could be going on I would greatly appreciate it. The reason it is so important is that my friend decided that the Mac mini was kind of an impulse buy and didn't need his iBook and another computer for his TV so he is going to sell it to my brother who is in need of a computer. So I don't want him to get into something that will give him problems right away.
    Thanks in advance,
    Robert

So is the MAG monitor your brother's monitor? That wasn't clear.
What you are seeing will most likely be limited to the MAG monitor. The MAG is experiencing some kind of noise coupling in to horizontal sync, likely from it's own power supply. You are correct that this will be related to the sync rate. Changing the vertical refresh to something higher, like 85 Hz or higher if available, might help to mask the noise. Also, power supply loading will affect how the noise manifests, so you weren't imagining when you thought that opening more applications made it worse. It didn't have anything to do with the mini but rather the different average picture level on the screen was changing the monitor's power supply loading and hence changing the beat frequency between hsync and the power supply's switching frequency.
I think it is safe to say most of what you see is bound to the monitor and not the mini. Furthermore, if you are stuck with this monitor, you can probably lessen the appearance of the noise by mucking with the refresh rate out of the mini.

  • I have an iMac5, 1 with dual core of 2 x 512 MB. Can I add memory to the original computer to take advantage of the new OSX Mavericks download?

I have an iMac5, 1, with a dual core of 2 X 512 MB RAM. Can I add memory to my original computer in order to take advantage of the recent OSX Mavericks download?

    You can:
    Maximum Memory
3.0 GB (4.0 GB can be installed, only 3.0 GB will be addressed)
    Memory Slots
    2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
You will need to replace the modules you now have with one 2 and one 1 GB module or two 2 GB modules.
You cannot install anything higher than 10.75 Lion as your model is not able to run anything higher.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements

  • Can't get K8N Neo4 Platinum Edition to post with Dual Core 3800 Processor

I'm doing a sytem build with a K8N neo 4 Platinum board bought second hand off Ebay and can't get the board to post - when I power up all the fans etc come on but there is no beep and the "D" bracket lights stay on solid - 2 amber and 2 red. Having read numerous posts on this forum I've fiddled about with memory in different slots etc and pressed the reset CMOS button but to no avail.
The problem is (apart from the possibility I've been sold a "duff " board !) that I've no idea what version of BIOS is on the board and of course I can't get into the BIOS to see or update it. I understand a BIOS update may be required for the dual core processor - does this mean that if the board doesn't have the correct BIOS it won't recognize the CPU at all which is why I am getting these symptons? Alternatively could the problem lie elsewhere ? I do have another computer with an AMD single core CPU but at this stage don't really fancy taking out this CPU and trying it in the K8N board.
    Any advice would be appreciated

-Take the motherboard out of case.
-Unplug all hardwares and power cords, then clear CMOS as the mannual has described.
    - Plug one memory, VGA card and power cords, then start the system and check if it could boot.
-If it still couldn't boot, check the CPU support tableand make sure your board support this board. After this, I think you should take another single CPU to the board to check if it could boot. If it could, try flash bios to the latest one so that this board could support this CPU.

  • Booting/Crashing Problems with Dual Core 2.3GHz PowerMac

I'm wondering if anybody else is having this problem. ...
I'm having problems booting my new Mac... for the first few weeks everything was fine ... but for the last few of days it often takes 2 or 3 tries to boot to the desktop (it hangs during the boot process) and sometimes when it get there it freezes when I try to launch an app. Rebooting yet again usually solves the problem...
Yesterday after i got it booted it sounded like my disk drive was working for a long time after it was booting the computer was very slow and when i checked CPU usage was very high bit i was not running anything to cause that!
This evening I had to reboot 5 times before I was able to do anything .. and one time the fans kicked into high gear and sounded like a vacuum cleaner!
Once I got it going I opened Mail and checked my new eMails, opened Safari then left the computer for about a half hour and when I got back I had message on my screen saying I had to reboot!
When I got my Mac I immediately ran the full hardware test and it passed... Then I immediately added 2 GB of Crucial RAM and ran the full hardware and memory test yet gain and everything passed...
So it should NOT be a RAM issue.
Has anybody else seen this type of thing and/or has any suggestions on how to fix it or isolate the problem?
    Thanks

    Feldspar-
As I'm waiting for for my replacement Dual Core 2.3 G5 to arrive back from Apple, I've been scanning this site to see if there has been any conclusive determination about the underlying problems with the new G5s. So far, I'm sorry to report, I don't see any.
My recomendation to you is to talk directly to apple tech support If you aren't already. Although they may not have a definate solution at this point, you may be able to get a new machine, with more assurrances of it being healthy, than getting your current machine repaired at a service center. You have only 30 days from your purchase date to determine this, and in my case it took a few days working with them to get to the point where all of their tests and trials were done and my machine was classified DOA.
We have paid too much money for a machine that is only as reliable as the amount of time we're willing to spend to get it running after a few (or more)boots. One of the main reasons I've chosen Apple for all these years is that I didn't want to have to learn all of the underlying engineering and programming that make it work. I have always been willing to pay more money for a system that works when you turn it on the first time. I am confident that Apple wants very much to maintain their image of reliablility since much of their competitive edge is the advantage of great looking Apple hardware running their feature packed native software.
I am hoping that we haven't entered a new era with Apple products where my new best friend is going to be the tech guy at the local apple repair center: (not to knock any of them..by the way.)
Although I don't make my living on my cumputer as you do, I depend on my computer throughout my day for information, important financial transactions and comunication. It goes beyond inconvenient to have to send my machine back, for whatever reason. I am writing this on a rock solid G4 933 that has never had a single problem. Have I just been lucky?
