1) How to seperate audio from visual 2) How to pan / tilt on stills

I recently enquired about how to add B rolls, which I got good answers to. In the same 'narrative' video clip, I'd like to know how to actually seperate the audio from the video, so I can edit and save the audio as a totally new narration clip? The second question relates to 'animating' still photo clips. I figured that I don't need to travel miles to a particular mountain to video it. The mountain won't move, only my camera will, if I tilt or pan it. Accordingly, it makes more sense to download good quality photos of a targeted site, and apply pans & tilts to the photo. Other than printing the photo and taking video of it in a studio, I was kind of hoping that the combined software package I brought of premiere & photoshop elements, will allow me to do it digitally within the program? Could you kindly advise me in fairly simple terms, as I'm still finding my way around digital editing in general. Thanks!

Right-Click the clip and select 'Unlink Audio and Video'. Sound can be exported through File> Export> Audio.

If you do this you should ensure that your downloads are in the public domain & royalty free.

  • HT4016 How to extract audio from a movie that is already in my project without having to delete and re-import the movie?

    The article is
"How to extract audio from a movie file"
But it only tells you how to extract when you first drag the movie file into the project.  This much is obvious when a dialog presents you with a checkbox asking if you want to "Extract the audio track" ... Duh
    Here was my workflow:
Dragged the movie file into my project
I checked "Extract the audio track"
I shifted the "Movie Start Time"
Extracted audio track did not shift with the movie
I deleted the extracted audio and played the audio directly from the movie
Now, I need the audio extracted again at the current movie position
I knew where this option was in the Logic 9 menus, but I'm having trouble finding it in Logic X
Is this option still available, or has it been removed?

    Solved:
I found the menu option for extracting or re-extracting the movie audio.  BTW, the original article:
Logic Pro 9.1: How to extract audio from a movie file in 64-bit mode
should really also state the menu command for extracting the audio, not just the procedure when first adding the movie to the project.
    Here's the menu command:
    File>Movie>Import Audio from Movie

Try running Pandora in its own tab and leaving that tab open (Safari 7.1.5, OS 10.9.5).  I don't have Pandora to try this, but it works for me otherwise.

  • Extract audio from a DVD how to

Is there a FREE and ease way to extract audio from a DVD?
    Thank you

Set a tape recorder next to your speaker? Seriously, though - what kind of DVD? If it's a commercial DVD, it's copyright protected and people here shouldn't give you advice on how to do it. There are other places besides Apple's discussion forums to get that kind of info, and I don't see why this question belongs in "Using Mac OSX Leopard" in the first place.

  • Adobe Audition 3.0 and Pinnacle 700 USB - How to record audio from VHS tapes???

    Hi Friends,
I am new to Adobe Audition 3.0. I need your help.
Actually I am having a old Pinnacle 700 USB capture card. I want to record some audio in my computer by Adobe Audition.
I downloaded and installed required driver for Pinnacle 700 USB (for Vista).
But when I tried to capture audio from my VHS tapes, It not showing proper options. I don't know how to proceed further.
Could any one please help me... Please let me know what all I need to do.
    Waiting for your helpful suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Yash

The Pinnacle is a video capture device and as such captures the video and audio into one MPEG or DV stream. Audition can't see it as an audio card and therefore can't capture audio directly from your video source. However once you have captured a video file using the Pinnacle you can probably get to the audio by using the Open Audio from Video command in the File menu in Audition.

  • HT4437 How to stream audio from a Safari web site to Airport Express using Airplay?

I'm able to stream audio from iTunes to my Airport Express using Airplay, but I can't stream audio from SoundCloud.com or any other system audio (not in iTunes) to the Airport Express. It is my understanding that AirFoil can do the trick but I do not want to spend 25$ if there is another way to do it.
    Thanks in advance.

I have played around and it's all fixed (not sure what I did and I don't think it was working all along), Tgara, you're right the icon colour has changed to orange for music (but still blue for you tube).
    Cheers
    Good you got it sorted!
I was wrong about one thing.   Regardless of how I connect (e.g., wifi or Bluetooth), the Airplay icon in an Apple App turns orange when connected to a device, not blue as I mentioned above.  This is probably why you see blue in the Youtube app.
OK, I am retracting all my posts about the airplay icon and it's color scheme.
Seems as if the airplay icon on the music app is orange, but the airplay icon on the podcast app is blue. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to these color schemes or their significance, so I am abandoning all further speculation.

  • HELP - How to stop audio from starting when captivate loads

    Hi there,
I'm trying to work out how to stop my audio files attached to objects (images) from playing when captivate initially loads.  I have a number of images with audio and when captivate initially loads all of the audios play at once which isn't good.  I only want the audio associated with the object to play when the user clicks the item.
I've been researching for days and can't find an answer.  Am I doing something wrong, or am I overlooking something.?
Could someone PLEASE help me with this or at least put me in the right direction.  Any suggestions will be appreciated!!!
    Jasmin

To achieve that you have to separate the audio from the image. The principle I explained in this article http://lilybiri.posterous.com/audio-objects-control-them
The audio will play when the object to which it is attached gets visible. If you attach the audio to another object like a non-visible highlight box (that is my 'audio object' but you can use also a non-visible drawing object), you can set this 'audio object' to invisible in its Properties panel. When the user clicks on the click box, execute the action 'Show audio object' and the audio will play. I would even recommend using advanced standard actions over a simple action because you will be able to hide the other audio objects at the same time, and the play head will not be released - see video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3nKi-DB6Fw&feature=plcp
You have to know that hiding an audio object, will pause the audio. If you show it again, it will continue playing, not restart.

  • How to extract audio from a video clip

I am editting a video, and I need to extract the audio from a video clip. On the old iMovie it was really easy, all you had to do was press apple K I think. Thanks in advanced for your help.

Select the clip in the sequence.
Then command-L to unlink the clips.
Then select the audio and delete.
    As a suggestion, two things:
    1. Explain what you want to do. If it is delete the audio, then that is different than extracting the audio;
    2. Do a search in the pdf manual in the help manual

  • How to extract audio from an .avi for use on iTunes

I have an Ipod Mini and I want to put the audio from a video clip (.avi file) onto it. Is this possible?
    Thanks

    Gobias
The simple fact is that if it won't play in iTunes it won't play in your iPod. If the file plays on the Mac you'll need to capture it to an iTunes compatible format (mp3, aiff). To do this check out AudioHijack at http://rogueamoeba.com/ - the idea is that as your play the avi this will record the sound.

  • Mic on earphone plays back audio from laptop. How to fix?

I've tried multiple earphones with mic and they all playback sounds playing from the laptop.  I've even tried lowering the sound playing to the side of the earphone that has the mic all the way down and the audio still plays back into the mic.  Is there a way to fix this?  Seems to be an issue with the jack.

Update:  I tried the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" after everything else either fizzled out or hung up. After going all the way thru the recovery process (up to 100%), I finally got an error message.....it didn't work. And now, when I fire up the computer, I don't even get to that menu with the recovery options....the only thing I can boot into is the screens with the various ways to run your OS (in "safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc).
I'm not a techie, but I'm guessing at this point, the part of my hard drive that got damaged in the fall was, at the very least, the partition with the recovery data. Couple that with the fact that this cheapo Toshiba laptop didn't even come with recovery disk (or ANY kind of disk, even basic installation software!), I'm screwed: I don't see any way to get a workable computer now without some kind of disk to boot from. So NOW my concern is more about spending the $$ for a new OS and THEN finding out the hard drive has other problems too...is broken in some other way to boot.
How to check this? As I said, I did run "chkdsk" back when I could get into the recovery menu and run the fix-it programs. It didn't note any problems. Thinking of taking this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (which I never liked), but I have to know that the computer is otherwise ok....how to be sure? Help!!

  • How to get audio from a tape recorder into FCE?

    Hello All,
I have a older Sony TC-D5 tape recorder (the sound recording is still extremely good and, in fact, much better than any of my digital camcorders at 16bit). My question is: how can I get this into FCE4? The TC-D5 has a left and right RCA audio out plugs. If I plug that into the external mic connection in my intel iMac will FCE4 recognize this as an audio source? Is there some other way I'm not thinking of?
    Thanks for your help.
    Mike

    Hi Ian, Martin and Michael
If I understand you, you'd like to shoot sound with your TC-D5, and Video with your Canon HV20 - Correct?
If so, I suppose you're getting better audio quality with the AKG and Tape set up. Of course you'd be limited to shooting where there's AC Power available and logistics with your set up.
In any event, sure I'd give it a try, but as Ian pointed, be prepared to fiddle and jiggle the sound around on the Audio Track to get it in sync. Tape Speeds are subject to change. There are a few tricks you can use to cue your tape recording to when you start filming; (Ian's Tips)
But there are also other methods, (as Ian Pointed out), probably many dozens to choose from. If you're able to use/barrow a mixer you can still use your AKG. Other methods; Using an overhead boom with a really good shotgun Mic. The approaches are endless.
In regard to strickly narrative, I've settled on a combo of both an Audio Techinca Lapel Mic and an Audio Technica Shotgun Mic. You can hear some of this in my trailer below.
Don't forget Michael, as long as you get 'SOLID' audio with strong peaks and no distortion, with minimum background noise, you can always choose dozens of Post Audio applications, (including FC's plug-ins).
Good to see you both again Martin and Ian!

  • How to export audio from PPro CS6/CC to AJA KiPro?

    Hello everyone.
First off, let me state up front that I know all of the specs when creating a ProRes file that will playback on a KiPro.  Our shop just switched from FCP 7 to Adobe PPro, and the exports are not working, BUT I believe it's only because we don't know how to select the correct options for the export.
We can see Video, so I think we are fine on the picture side, but what I am looking for is a way to be able to get the audio codec to be these settings:
    - Stereo
    - Linear PCM
    - 48kHz
    - 24-bit
    - Little Endian
I just don't know where to look for the audio settings to insure that this is really what I am exporting...  in the export media window, I have been choosing the following:
I have also tried exporting the files as "Mono", but the sound continues to either not play at all or playback with what sounds like massive distortion.
    Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.
    -PJ

Well, those settings will give you the first four, but the last is not a user option.  It comes out as it comes out and you can't change it.  I just don't know if it comes out as big or little.

  • How to sync audio from recorder and video from DSLR?

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 9.  How do I sync mp3 files recorded in a separate audio recorder (yamaha) and DSLR (Sony A7)?

    JayMisra108
On what computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 9? And, please install the 9.0.1 Update if you have not already.
Are you wanting to sync the audio to a video file from which its audio has been removed?
If so, right click the Timeline video, and, from the pop up menu, select Delete Audio.
Then import your .mp3 files to an audio file, and align them with the video file on the video track.
For fine adjustments, as you hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard, tap the left or right arrow key once. One tap = nudge of one frame.
Or, as you hold down the Shift+Alt key of the computer main keyboard, tap the left or right arrow key once. One tap = nudge of 5 frames.
Consider: Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and setting Display Format = Milliseconds.
Please review. Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • How to remove audio from iMovie

I recorded a video on my Sony camera and now after watching the clip there was something I said on that clip that I do not want the other person to know about it once I burn the clip to a DVD disc.   Is there anyway to do this and how?   If there is may you please provide step by step instructions on how to do it.
    Thank you.
    Ebrahim

Two quick Videos you should watch.
    1) This one from iMovie 08 covers the basics.
    2) this one shows the new features in iMovie 11. Choose the one that says All New Audio Editing.
There are two ways to have the audio muted in parts. 1) Select the frames you want to mute (by dragging) so that the yellow border is around them. Then right-click/Split Clip. Then set the Volume slider to zero., using the Audio Tab of the Clip Inspector.
    2) Use the rubber banding as shown in Video #2.

  • My Premiere Pro CC won't drag the audio from the videoclips, how can i fix it?

I've had the software for 3 months now, about a month ago I updated it and it stoped working properly, everytime I drag a clip to the timeline it cuts off the audio. If I add a song or any kind of audio that doesn't have video it works just fine. I tried uninstalling the software and installing it again from scratch and it didn't work. Does anyone know how can I fix this?

    Hi lllooolllaaa,
See if this FAQ helps you: Re: FAQ: Why does audio not go to the track where I drop it?
