1 image in preview area & in Project it shows (120)

I'm sorry for the duplicate post but my question wasn't answered. I show (120) in one of my Projects but in preview area only 1 image. It's not stacked and I did an update preview and could hear the HD working for about 3 minutes but still only 1 preview. Someone else had a similar problem but the fixes suggested didn't help me.

Any qualification you write into the search box of any view remains there and remains specific to that view. So you can do lots of work in other views and forget that you have a tiny tag mark, say, sitting in the search box from long ago. They do not automatically reset which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your needs.
I guess the way to guard against that happening again is to remember how it works

  • Why does image animation not display in project preview or published?

Most of my slides involve 4 images. I've staggered their appearance at .3, .5, .7 and .9 seconds. All works well when I preview the individual slide. But previewing the project, or publishing it, results in them all appearing simultaneously at .0 seconds. How do I correct this?
    Thanks,
    bberg1

Thanks for your reply. I checked the timelines and they look correct. Of course, I can see the timelines only in the preview of the individual slides, when the animation works fine. Capturing the slide preview timelines would therefore not help with the problem. Once I preview the entire project, the timelines are not accessible, and the images 4 images appear all at once at .0 seconds rather than sequentially at .3. .5 .7 and .9 as in the slide preview. What is most puzzling is that some of my projects, with the same settings as far as I can determine, work just fine in both the slide only and project preview.

  • Bridge CS4 image Previews are too small

In Bridge CS4 I cannot get the preview images to display anything larger than a large thumbnail view, see image below.  I have tried all of the Preferences in Edit menu (e.g. Thumbnail: do not process files larger than set to 10,000 MB, cache options are keep 100% previews in cache checked/automatically export cache to folders when possible checked/cache size slider is set to 50%, software render has been checked/unchecked/generate monitor size previews checked).  None of these options change anything for the size of the image preview.  I have a DX10.1 ATI Radeon HD4890 XOC 1GB, so my video card is not the issue.  I am running Windows 7 Ult x64 on ASUS P8P67 Deluxe with 16GB RAM and over 2 TB of HDD space. So my system should not be an issue either.  These are Sample artwork images that were installed with Illustrator cs4.  How do i increase the size of these images?
Also, these images are showing everything in the ai image, not the individual images in each ai file.  How do i get it to show the individual images in each AI file like they were separate images, like Illustrator?

Actually, you just solved both of my problems with your question.  I never thought about how the images were created/saved.
It turns out that for some reason when i re-save the images as version CS4 of course and all options selected in dialog box now the images act correctly and resize accordingly when the separator is moved and will get quite large as they should.
I also had to use my mouse and select each artboard/image inside the file then re-saved with same settings as above to get multiple images to show up with the buttons at bottom of image in preview mode.  Now all is good.
These are the default installed sample artwork images.  Not sure why they were like this, may have been some kind of format/process error. Thanks a lot Curt Y.

  • Placing an image in Indesign CS5- Previews are slow

I have a customer with identical intel MacPros, 10.5.8 OSX, 8GB RAM and running CS5.
Whenever they go to PLACE an image in either InDesign or Illustrator the preview window that comes up takes up to 65 seconds for a preview to appear in the window. These are images(TIFFs or EPS) that are over 200MB.
    What I've done so far:
Timed image preview when placing an image from server or off of desktop- No speed difference in showing the preview.
Took my MacBook Pro and tried to place the images- Immediate preview, no matter the size of the image. Desktop and over the network.
Started their MacPros up in target disk mode- Launched InDesign from their computer- No problem.
Started my MacBook Pro in target disk mode- Launched InDesign from my computer- Same speed issues with preview appearing when placing an image.
Replaced their current video cards with accelerated high end graphic cards. - No performance increase. When previewing a placed image, still very slow.
None of my other customers have this issue. Any clues????

There have been sporadic reports that changing the preference for live screen drawing to delayed from immediate has helped other issues such as this.
Try that first and let us know if it corrects the problem.

  • A number of imported photos from iphoto in imovie project all show the same image whilst the preview before dragging them in is correct. What could be the problem?

A number of photos from iphoto used in imovie project all show the same image when playing back. The previw when clicking and dragging them and also the pictures in the storyline. Yet when playing the clip a previous immage keeps on appearing. What could be the problem?

You created a mess and there is no solution - with the actions you have taken those photos are gone unless you have access to them from some other source - they existed in two place - in your iPhoto library and on your backup drive - you have traded the backup drive and restore an earlier iPhoto library so all you have is what you have

  • All images in my Preview area are dimmed.

I'm brand new to LightRoom. It's got m a little befuddled. I searched for help in the manual, but to no avail. After importing, all the images in my Preview area are now dimmed. Double clicking will bring each up in full color, but the dimming in the full view is certainly not normal or optimal.
And I am unable to select a new module. If I can get past these two hurdles I'm pretty sure I can handle the rest.
    Thank you

I assume you mean dimmed as shown in screen shot shown below. If so, dimmed images within the Import window preview area means that they have already been imported into your catalog. To get to the Library module you'll need to hit the cancel button on the bottom right corner of the Import window

  • How can I save previews for old projects, while burning the project to DVD?

I'll admit, I haven't read the user manual cover to cover (or screen to screen for the electronic version), and haven't spent hours combing the discussions here, but I have searched for all the relevant keywords I can think of and can't find a concise answer to this question.
I get the basic idea of Vaults (I think), but haven't found much info about long term storage of projects. I'm fulltime freelance, but not super busy, and I can easily generate 100,000 images each year. I don't have the cash to be keeping all of these images in Aperture projects on external hard drives for eternity, and I'd be surprised if anyone else does. Good thing I'm not a medium format digital shooter producing 50GB each day huh?
I remember seeing a clip of a photographer 2 or 3 years ago discussing the differences between storing digital and film images. He was making the point that throwing away files you don't think you'll need again can be a mistake, citing a shot he had of Clinton and Lewinsky together, before Clinton and Lewinsky were news. "If I'd been shooting digital, that image wouldn't exist today". It was a great pic, and when that whoel scandal erupted, it made him alot of money.
So at present I'm storing every image I take in finished projects on DVD trusting that in the future I'll be looking for a shot of someone I may have shot 5, 10, 15 years ago.
I caught part of a discussion that talked about keeping the preview files for all the images (and subsequent versions) for each project. I'd love to be able to keep lo-res previews/copies of everything I've shot to date, and have them immediately accessible on my hard drive, while my full size projects are safely stored on DVD, taking up space on a bookshelf rather than on my hard drive. Loading 10 DVD's worth of projects to see what's inside them is a headache I'd like to avoid if possible, in favour of instantly checking out lo-res previews to look a shot up.
Is there an easy way to burn a completed project to DVD, but keep only the (lo res, lo size) previews on my hard drive?

    hello, kiwi
quote: "Is there an easy way to burn a completed project to DVD, but keep only the (lo res, lo size) previews on my hard drive?"
    yes.
    maybe,...
    1. you might think of making DVD backups first prior to importing the photos into Aperture. "Store Files: In their current location" once in Aperture make low rez Previews, and export finished Project.
    or,
    2. bring in the photographs to hard drive first prior to importing the photos into Aperture. "Store Files: In their current location" once in Aperture make low rez Previews, and export finished Project.
the low rez Previews will stay in Aperture but the high quality Versions will be exported onto DVDs and gone from the hard drive (if you delete the originals).
another way would be to export small about 50-70 pixel wide high quality jpegs to a folder on your Desktop and import & keep these in Aperture Library as a reference. make metadata to show where the original Project DVDs are stored and DVD filing system used.

  • Why is my preview area showing only greyed out boxes instead of photos?

I am unable to import my photos so they can be seen.  Whether I try to import them from the hard drive, camera card, or my desktop (following the tutorial), I do not see photographs in the preview area, only greyed out boxes instead of photos.  If I imported 6 photos, I have six greyed out (photo-sized) boxes.  The specific photos are there somehow, becuase they are properly named when I scroll the mouse over them, but I see only flat grey, no pictures.  As I said, this happens even when I follow the tutorial and import from my desktop.

    George,
I appreciate you responding to my inquiry.  We (that would be the "royal" we, which would be my husband) finally determined that the monitor was not configured properly.  "We" discovered this out after uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom several times.
To answer your question, I was trying to import both photos taken in JPEG, as well as RAW, both were problematic.  I could import no images.  It was interesting that I could tell all of the data was coming over (when I floated the cursor over a grayed-out box I could read the data), just not the images.
I have a Nikon D5100.  I purchased Lightroom 5.0 just before now(two days ago), and was trying to install and play with it.  I upgraded to 5.2 as I was going into it for the first time (it is an automatic question).  I knew there was obviously a problem when I couldn't see any images.  Particularly when I went into the tutorials -- it just reemphasized that something was wrong.  Who ever thinks of how their monitor is configured?????
Thank you for following up.  I was very frustrated for many, many hours.

  • Images folder in Robohelp 7 project only lists a small fraction of the images actually there

I added an image to a topic. The image had an identical name to an existing image in the project. The image appeared in my main project folder, which is where all images initially show up in my project. I then move them to an images folder. I moved this image, expecting to get a message asking if I wanted to replace the exsting image with the same name. i wanted to update all instances where this image appears. Instead I got a message that this file was in use and could not be replaced. I clicked on my images folder to see if the original image was in a topic that was open and maybe that was why it would not overwrite. At this point i noticed most of the images in the folder were not listed.
I can use Reports Used and I see all the files that are supposed to be in my images folder, but when I go to the Images Reports tab, only the files that are listed in my images folder in the Project Manager are shown. So Robohelp knows the files are in the images folder and that they are in use, but it does not recognize them as images and will not list them as such.
i have no idea how this happened or how to fix it.

If RoboHelp allowed you to replace the image and it were a different size, you could have problems in the existing topics. I suspect that is why it is not allowed to replace it in that way.
As far as "missing" images are concerned, try renaming the folder to say Images2. They will likely all appear and then you can revert the name.

  • Referenced Images Say They are Referenced But Are Not.

Is anyone having the following problem? I have about 4500 images that were Imported into Aperture as Referenced. Have been working with them over the past month. Tried making a Web Journal recently and after exporting the pages, many of the images did not show up in the web pages although the caption did. I went back to my Album and went through the images. The ones that didn't show up in the web pages were very strange looking within the Album. As a thumbnail they looked fine but when I put the loupe on them at 100% it was obvious that they were some sort of small jpeg or something due to lots of jaggies and poor quality. Even though the Reference icon was supposedly fine, telling me it was online since it did not have a yellow warning label, for some reason Aperture was not accessing the original RAW file.
I now have hundreds of images I have to try and find in the Album that say they are referenced but really are not.
Prior to this web journal problem showing up Aperture had been showing me many of these files were not online even though the drive was definitely hooked to the computer and I was able to go to the same images via the Finder and actually see that they were there. One minute the overall project registered images offline, I would click on an Album and they would register as Online. Then switch back to the Project and amazingly they register as online. Back down to the Album and it tells me they are off line. Back and forth from project to album and a different icon 50% of the time. I knew something was up.
I eventually tracked down many of the images that said they were online but by reviewing them it was obvious they were not due to the jaggies I mentioned above. When I would find one like this I went to Manage Referenced Photos and reconnected the image even though it's telling me it is already connected. After doing this to many of the images I reproduced the web pages and they then showed up. I nearly had all the images showing up except for one that I must have missed in reconnecting so I went back to do just that. As I scrolled through the Album and the Web Journal, many of the thumbnails would turn gray and then finally an image would show up. This happened to dozens of images. I found the one that had not shown up in the last export of the web pages, reconnected it (even though it said it was connected) and then exported the web pages again. Unfortunately I was back to square one. Once again dozens of images were now not showing up in the export of the web pages again.
I just can't believe how buggy 1.5.2 seems to be. I thought maybe it was something to do with Repairing Permissions so I went and did all of that. Still no luck! Anyone else experience anything like this? I'm about ready to give up on this software.

    Victor,
Yes larger hard drives will help but the day they are large enough to fit in a laptop with a professional photographers entire collection is a long way off and may never happen. There is no reason why Referenced files needs to be so difficult. Two quality programs that handled it with ease was RAW Shooter (now gone having been bought by Adobe) and Photo Mechanic which is superb for some tasks. For Aperture to have this many issues with referencing images is unacceptable and the market place will bear this out. I've quite using the program all together and have gone back to Photo Mechanic combined with IView and Photoshop. There's still room for an Aperture like product but Apple better get moving to make it work better. Microsoft just announced some of the upcoming IView capabilities that will be available next year. Adobe has CS3 and Lightrooom and I'm guessing Photo Mechanic isn't resting on it's heels. I really, really wanted to like Aperture and I worked with it day in and day out for nearly two months. As time went on the Referenced files just kept getting more and more unstable and I lost a ton of work due to it no longer being able to see some of those files.

  • Spry vertical menu button shows background color instead of image in preview

Hello All, I'm a newbie (to the forum and Dreamweaver) so my apologies if my question is not in good form.  I've searched for this issue but cannot seem to find the exact problem I have.
I've created a website (my first) and used the spry menu bar.  It works well using the default blue and grey colors for button and hover.  However, I decided I want to spruce it up a little and change the buttons to use a background image (rainbow pattern) instead of background color.  I internet researched this for some time and watched all the youtube videos people have posted for this process and editing the spry vertical menu bar CSS.  Using the .a and hover lines from the CSS, I was able to add my background .jpg image file.  In the design view, the button look exactly how I want them to.  However, when I attempt to preview in IE, Chrome, or FF, the buttons still have the default colors and no image.  I've gone back and deleted the default blue and grey, but then the preview just shows dark grey and white for the buttoms.  is there something that I am overlooking that would cause the background color to show instead of the image I have attached to the buttons.  I can't figure out why it looks right in DW but not in preview.
BTW, I'm editing a template file and all the pages are updated with the new image buttons, but none of the pages show correctly in preview.
    Thanks

  • Images not previewing properly in Bridge CS4

I just did a reformat & reinstall of my whole system. I opened Bridge to get back to work and none of my images will preview accurately in Bridge. They just show as horizontal and vertical pixelated representations of the image. I did not have a problem with Bridge until after the reinstall. Anyone have any ideas?
System details: Dell Dimension 8250 (I know, it's a dionsaur, but it works...for now), Windows XP Pro SP3, 1.5gb ram, Intel P4 3.06GHz HT
    Thanks, Dana

    Hi Dana,
Which settings are you considering and what are the performance issues?
You can optimize for certain workflows that will adjust processor intensive work, such as only generating large previews when displayed. If you're strictly talking about video card accelerated features, I think it's more a matter of On or Off as opposed to performance tuning. I just did a quick look and with video card acceleration enabled, in Full Screen Preview you can pan the image at magnifications much smoother.

  • Previews are Blurry in Bridge CS6

On several occasions I have seen that some images are previewed blurry in Bridge CS6.
I have set the preview to full resolution/quality, so this is not the issue.
When it happens, it happens like this:
    1. I have a layered file, and the preview is good and sharp.
    2. Then I sharpen, and the preview is blurry.
This has occurred numerous times. I thought the preview was corrupted, so I deleted the file, and hauled it back from the trash, so a new preview would be built.
Again, this new preview would again be blurry. (Out of 20 files, two had a blurry preview - and the files themselves were NOT blurry).
Flattening such a file does not help. While the flattened file is also sharp in Photoshop, its preview remains blurry. A copied file also has the blurry preview.
I don't see any correlation with image dimensions, file sizes. Some images just randomely are previewed blurry in Bridge CS6.
The only correlation I see is that it is ALWAYS SHARPENED IMAGES that are previewed blurry (the unsharpened versions always look much sharper in Bridge CS6)
What can I do to have Bridge CS6 preview ALL images correctly?
edit: I purged the cache for this folder, and the rebuilt preview is again blurry.
Even worse, now 50 out of 100 images have blurry previews.
How can I get previews that I can work with?

I have a latest generation MacBook Pro retina, so that should be fine.
It actually worked when I purged the cache for this folder a second time. The blur went away.
The first time I had done a "select all" images to show Bridge which previews I needed rebuilt - not necessary, maybe that was an overload for Bridge.

  • Broken/missing images when copying from one project to another.

    Greetings:
I've been building pages in RH project #1 by copying and
pasting text and images from a separate RH project #2. While
working in RH #1 all the images are there. When I publish, half of
    them are not.
Doesn't RH automatically add copied and pasted files to the
project into which they are pasted?
If not, how do I get these images into the project so they
get published? It tried pasting them all into the FlashHelp folder,
where the other published files are, but this has had no effect.
More, I have to use this technique again and again (long
story ;-) so I really need to get this solved.
    Thanks.
    stevenjs

Just to get some clarification--you're saying that the
problem appears when you are generating your output from project
#2? Or just when you publish after generating from project #2?
My guess would be that you're copying the code for the image
but not the image itself. Try this:
    1. Copy the entire folder of images from project #1 into the
    project #2 directory.
    2. Do your copying and pasting from project #1 into #2 like
    you've been doing.
    3. Generate from project #2 and see if the images show up in
    the output.
I know you say you have reasons for copying and pasting, but
I just want to mention the possibility of importing topics instead,
which will copy everything over into project #2. But you've
    probably already thought about that.
