1 iTunes account two iPhones 1 Verizon 1 AT&T

My work just gave me a company Iphone 4s with service through Verizion.  I already have an AT&T 4s which is synched with my Macbook Pro and Itunes account.  Has anyone used two Iphones on one account from the 2 providers?  I would like to have any tips or feed back on the experience.

You can absolutely sync two iPhones, or any number of iOS devices, with one computer and one iCloud/iTunes account. It doesn't matter what kind of devices they are or what cell provider the iPhones have. What I would recommend, though, would be to turn on iCloud and let iCloud hash out all the syncrhonizing. If you don't have Lion on your MacBook Pro, I suggest upgrading to take advantage of iCloud.

  • One iTunes account, Two iPhones...Help

    Hi everyone,
I am an iPhone user. I pay the bill for my iPhone and my wife's cell phone. I am getter her an iPhone but don't want here to have my contacts and calender on her phone. Am I right in assuming that she must have her own iTunes account and Calender to make it HER phone?
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of issue?
    Thanks

You can do this with the same iTunes account and computer login account on your Mac, but best to create an additional login account on your Mac for your wife.
This will give your wife her own Home folder directory for creating her contact information and calendar events only with the Address Book and iCal applications under her login account which will be synced with her iPhone.
She can also create and access her email account or accounts only with the Mail application under her computer login account. You can enable Fast User Switching on your Mac to make the process of switching between multiple computer login accounts a fast and easy process.
OS X was designed for multiple users - with the Home folder/directory and the data stored within kept separate and protected. Each user has a shared folder for sharing documents and other data between multiple login accounts.
She can transfer music from the iTunes library under your login account and the same for photos transfered from your computer to the iPhone, and sync contact information and calendar events only under her login account.

  • Photostream not working - two iphones, one itunes account, two icloud accounts

    Hello,
My wife and I both have iphones (both 4s). I have had mine for some time and she got hers last week.
We have one itunes account. We have two icloud accounts.
We cannot get shared photostreams to - my phone will not receive invites from hers. It works the other way round though.
All the settings are correct and switched on.
Please don't send me to the FAQ page as I have tried everything on there to no avail
    Thanks
    Matt

The quickest and easiest thing to do is take the desired iPhone and connect it to the desired iTunes account. This most likely will erase and data on the iPhone and replace it with the data from the itunes account it is connected to.

  • Two iphones, one iTunes account, two icloud accounts

    Hi,
I have two iPhones, one  privat, one from my company.
    I would like ...
... to have all music, apps, books bought via iTunes to be on both iPhones - use same Apple ID for iTunes account?
... seperate calender, contacts, todos - use different Apple IDs for iCloud?
Is there still a way to have all pictures taken in one common photo stream?

I have the same question.  My daughter and I share an apple account which is fine, but now I am getting some of her texts and each time I send her one I get a duplicate?  I thought I messed this up when we tried to Facetime each other and I have deleted all those options.  How do I fix it so I have my own texts and she has her own texts, I don't get duplicate texts but she can still access our I tunes account?  Please help

  • How do we sync contacts and calendars (ONLY) between two iCloud accounts, two iPhones and one iMac with two user accounts?

This is complex.  Until today we had one iMac with two user accounts - one for me and the other for my wife.  We sync'd our calendars and contacts between our two user accounts using my iCloud account, thereby keeping our schedules coordinated and our contacts information always the same between us.  Also, as I had an iPhone, I sync'd my phone with my iCloud account, thereby keeping the contacts and calendars in the two user accounts on the iMac AND my iPhone sync'd.  (I also sync'd other things, like Notes and Mail and Safari settings, between my iPhone and my user account on the iMac, but my wife did not want to be burdened with all my emails showing up in her email account and I wasn't interested in hers, etc., so we didn't sync anything between us other than calendars and contacts.)
We've finally bought my wife an iPhone and set up an iCloud account for her.  And of course she now wants to sync several items from HER account on our iMac to HER iPhone, but I don't want them, just as she doesn't want all of my other stuff.  But we still want our mutual calendars and contacts to sync to HER new iPhone, just like they already do to mine.  But I can't figure out how to CHANGE her iMac user account from using MY iCloud account on the iMac to using HER new iCloud account, and then having HER iCloud account speak to MY iCloud account but share JUST our calendars and contacts.
Originally I tried a workaround by simply having her iPhone log into my iCloud account.  That works great for the calendars and the contacts.  But...she can't sync anything else from her iMac account to her new iPhone because she's presently "forced" to use my iCloud account.  And neither of us want to sync our other things to each other's iMac accounts or iPhones.  Also as we're both using my iCloud account, in things like the Find My iPhone app, the Cloud is seeking two phones labeled with my name and none with her's.  So we definitely don't want this as the set-up and communications network between our devices.
We want to set up our users on the iMac to sync to our SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT iCloud accounts and then have those iCloud accounts sync calendars and contacts (ONLY) between themselves, and then push that data to our separate iPhones (or the other way, from either of our iPhones to the individual accounts on our iMac and the other person's iPhone).  Does this description make sense to you?  I've diagramed it nicely using Keynote, but even thiough I can draw it, I can't figure out how to set up and configure all the devices to make it work.  If you would like me to send the Keynote slides (just two of them - the current and desired configurations - please send your email address to me at [email protected] and I'll be happy to forward it to you.
If anyone can help me set this up I'd be most appreciative!  Thanks so much.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all readers in this community!

    BobT.
I had the same problem, and decided to look into it last night.
First of all, the solution I would like to have is for Apple to allow for selection of iCloud accounts per application, i.e. Contacts to one, Photo Stream to another. I believe this would be the most straight forward solution for the problem we are facing.
Since this is not an option I came up with a workaround. I was most interested in solving this for Contacts, so this is what I tested for. Now I have all 3 devices with the same contacts.
    1) Turn off iCloud for Contacts on all devices. On the device that has the Contacts list that you would like to propagate to all others select to keep the contacts, and on the others select not to keep them.
Note that the current backups still exist on iCloud, so in case something goes wrong you can still turn the iCloud for Contacts back on to get your current Contacts back.
    2) In iTunes, sync All Contacts with the phones, starting with the one with the Contacts content you chose to keep.
From this point on, the 3 devices should sync contacts with each other.
This, of course, will stop your iCloud backups of Contacts, but I don't think this is really needed. You are already storing copies of your Conacts on 3 devices, which for good parts of the day are likely not all co-located. You also potentially have Time Machine backups turned on, which would mean there is a 4th copy there as well. For the case of Contacts iCloud only complicates matter ... that is until Apple implements the solution I first wrote about.

  • HT1203 one itunes account 2 iphones

How do i can manage 1 itunes account, with 2 iPhones, me and my wife, she doesnt need my contacts, But we dont want to buy twice the apps?
    any ideas??
    TXS!

Two Apple ID's for iCloud syncing if you want that on each device.
One Apple ID for apps and media, this can (and should) be the same Apple ID that one device uses for iCloud.

  • Multiple itunes accounts on iphone

Hi I have recently upgraded my iOS and my OSX. I will eventually have to completely erase my iPhone because I had to move my iTunes library.
My problem is that I have two iTunes accounts, and there are purchased songs on my iPhone currently that I am unable to play. How do I "re-authorize" my iPhone to play songs I purchased under both accounts?
I do not want to sync everything from my iTunes library to my iPhone, my library is too big, this is why I manage content manually.

You don't authorize devices, you authorize computers. Log into iTunes using each of your iTunes accounts & go up to Store>Authorize this Computer, for each account. Once done you can sync whatever you like to your phone.
    FYI:
There is absolutely no advantage to manually managing music with an iPhone. The real benefit to manually managing content is the ability to add content from multiple computers to your device, something you can't do with an iPhone. Since some content must be synced, it's better to create playlists for your music & then sync those playlists to your phone. However, it's your phone/computer, do what you want.

  • Problems creating separate iTunes account from iPhone

My wife and I have iPhones. I'm a MobileMe account user and my wife's email address is another email address within my MM account (I'm [email protected] and she is [email protected]). If we try to access iTunes with her existing email address it says the ID doesn't exist but when we try to set up a new user account in iTunes through her iPhone we're getting the message that the account is on an existing MobileMe account so won't set up new account.
How do we set up 2 iPhones to work with these email ID's?

If your wife's MobileMe address is an alias address under your MobileMe account, this is likely the problem when trying to create a new iTunes account with an alias email address, which is under the primary MobileMe account/address.
If both iPhones are synced with the same iTunes library at the present time with all 3rd party apps in your iTunes library and on each iPhone purchased/downloaded with your existing iTunes account, why do you want to create another iTunes account? All 3rd party apps and video purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account used to purchase/download the content.

  • One iTunes account, two computers...

    Dear community,
My first post: I'm looking for some advice regarding my iTunes account. Can anyone solve this conundrum?
My ex-girlfriend and i used to share a computer (windows vista) with my iTunes account on it. I used to sink my iPhone 3G on it.
We went our separate ways, still friends, now she has the computer. I bought a laptop (Windows 7), loaded iTunes on to it and opened my account but no sign of music etc.
I'm borrowing the old computer for a week to see if i can sink my phone for the first time in a year but chiefly to duplicate our music collection using an external hard drive. I would like to be able to sink my phone on my own computer in the future and return the old computer with her music still intact.
Do you think i will need to start a new account for her or de-authorise her computer and load a copy of the music back on to her computer?
Can anyone help? Very many thanks. (I'm about to receive an iPhone 4S so really should be ready).

You can copy the entire iTunes folder from the old one to the new one. Recommend you change the password to your account if you haven't done so already, but I guess you can leave her machine authorised until you find you need all five authorisations for yourself.

  • One iTunes account two passwords

I have 1 iTunes account (user iD), but have two passwords for some reason (I have one main password for most apps, but several apps are using an older password).  The result is I have to authorize my PC twice for one account.  Is there anyway I can merge all the apps to one password or kill the other password?
    Thanks

there's nothing you can do except to send an email to the iTS customer service using this form and ask the folks there if they can help.
    good luck !

  • How do I change the itunes account my iphone is linked to?

My wife and I both have Itunes accounts but somehow my iphone is linked to her account. I simply want to link my iphone to my account and can't discover how to do this. Should be very simple I guess but if i try and edit her ID on Itunes by putting mine in, it says that I can't as my ID is already in use!! Aagh!

My recommendation would be to set this up as a brand new iPhone, just as if it came out of the box.
Do that in Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings
You will then be directed to the welcome to iPhone screen, just as you would with a brand new device.

  • Itunes account for iphone 4 has one balance. iPad has another balance?

I recently purchased an iPad 2 (16GB 3G) and purchased a $25 iTunes card. I also have an iPhone 4 with a current iTunes account. The balance is not the same on my phone. I only have one account and use the same log in credentials for both. Shouldn't my balance be the same no matter what device?

It should be.  Have you tried restarting the devices?
BTW, you have posted in the Itunes U forum.  Itunes U is where colleges, universities and museums post educational material for students.
As your question has nothing to do with itunes U, it may help to post an a more appropriate forum.

  • Can't Configure iTunes account on IPhone

I am trying to download music through the new iTunes o my iPhone and when I click Buy Now, it says
"No account information found. Please connect to iTunes to configure your account."
Well I plugged it into my computer and I can't get it to work. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for your time.
    Andrew

This did not work for me. I synced my iphone with itunes WHILE signed into my itunes store account, and I still cannot download anything from the store with my iphone -- getting the same message about no account information found, etc.
It sure would be nice if Apple would publish a support document describing how to do this....

  • Cannot connect to itunes account on iphone?

    hey,
I am trying to connect to my iTunes account on my iPhone 3G S but it keeps giving me an error message "Your iTunes password is incorrect. Please try again." I called apple twice today and they solved my problem by syncing my iPhone, but I still have the same problem about 5 minutes later. Can anyone help me??

I suggest a restart and if that doesn't correct the problem, try a restore.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
