1 new message showing but no message in app?

I have 1 message showing but when I open the app I have no new messages. I have deleted all of my messages but it still shows a new message is waiting. Does anybody else have this and how can I delete it?

Try quitting the Messages app (Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up)
then
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

Message Indicator but no message

My new Tour 9630 indicates unopened messages that cannot be found. I have tried "show all", viewed saved messages in all email sub-folders and gone into each and hit the "u" key but nothing. any suggestions??

I've had this same problem and have just figured out what has caused it. If you have the Facebook Chat app that is the cause of this glitch. Everytime someone signs in it indicates it as a new message. To fix this open the Facebook chat app , hit the menu ( blackberry logo ) button and select options , on the first tab "Sounds and alerts" select this and scroll down to the "friend presence notification:" (it should take three strokes) then uncheck everything under the friend presence notification tab. Then your problem should go away. If you dont have this app then of course it couldnt be the cause so i don't know. But if you have the Facebook Chat app more than likely that was the cause of this glitch.

I received the notification of the message and it shows I have a new message, but when I go to my inbox there is nothing there. I continue to try to clear the data from the MMS settings, but I keep receiving the new message notification and my MMS button continues to show a new message. How do I get rid of that message and discontinue the icon from showing a new message? Hope this all makes sense. HELP!!!

Need help regarding email (have messages showing but none to read)

I have the 8900 on 02 (02 cant help!)
At the top of the screen the message envelope shows 10 messages
when I hover over my email address on the bottom it has (4)
WHen I delete all messages from the device it still shows 10, its been like this for about 3 months now but it is getting on my nerves
I have re booted it, forced re started (as read on this forum somewhere) I am not 100 % confident in doing to much as am not that up to speed with the device (only has it for 1 year!!!!) lol

Tips for clearing that unread message... try them in order.
If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
Try these options:
* Open your main Messages folder and highlight today's date, click the menu key and select Mark Prior Opened.
* Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or with the BlackBerry powered ON, remove the battery and reinserting the battery)
* View Messages > Saved Messages
* View Messages > View Folders, check each folder (missed calls, SMS in and out boxes, MMS in and out boxes, Saved, browser, phone logs etc)
* Scroll to top of message folder, over the date heading, click or press menu to MARK PRIOR OPEN
* Change your theme and see if it persists, and change back to your desired theme. (Options > Theme > select.)
* Connect to Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced. On the right-hand pane is the list of data on your device. Scroll to the email messages database and highlight it, then below, select CLEAR. This will clear your device of all messages.
* Wipe and reload your OS.

I tried to update iTunes to new version recently, but Error message: "Microsoft Visual C Runtime Library"

New iMac shows some Recovered Messages (iCloud)

I have a new iMac: It shows some messages ON MY MAC -- Recovered Messages (iCloud) folder.
Does that means the file was not sent? If so, can the files be re-sent? What troubleshooting can
one do to learn or fix this?

My New iPad shows I have updates for apps available, but update screen is blank

Device New iPad. I have indication of updates available for Apps on my iPad. When I go to the App Store and select the Updates tab no Apps appear for update. The count of updates due is growing, but I am Bo longer able to update.

Problems with iPhone messaging - received messages showing as sent messages and messages sent to one family member gets received by other family members.

AT&T family plan - 4 iPhones in use by family members (4s, 4g, and two 3g's). Weird things happen when we text message:
1. Sometimes, received messages look like they are sent messages - and no alert is sounded. The conversation looks like you are talking to yourself. Sometimes it happens to both parties in a text conversation, sometimes it only happens to one party. Deleting the message entirely and starting over from scratch sometimes fixes the problems and sometimes doesn't fix the problem. Once this phenomenon starts in a conversation it is almost impossible to get it to stop.
2. Sometimes text messages to a specific family member get replicated to other family members as if in a group conversation - but group is turned off. This happens sporadically but it happens. Quite embarassing when husband and wife are sending private messages then suddenly the kids see the message on their iPhones! Can't figure out why this happens or what makes it happen, but happens a lot!!!
Has anyone had these problems or knows how to fix them?

IPhone 3GS making random text message alerts but no message received

Since yesterday morning my iPhone 3GS (running iOS 4.2) has started randomly making the text message alert noise but no new message has been received. I've also go no other new push notifications which could have been using the same sound either. At the moment it's about 2-3 of these bizare alerts a day with no set pattern of when and where.
Any ideas what could be the problem and how to fix it?

This sounds very much like a physical fault inside the phone - short or loose component. You really have no option but to get it looked at under warranty

Message indicator but no messages listed

My Torch 9800 will show messages or emails in the top center display.
However, there are no emails or messages in the folders.
This number will increase over time & the only way to clear it is to remove the battery.
Bell can't solve this & I'm not about to pay for customer service.
I'll switch to an iPhone first.

and see if it reveals anything causal. Messages come in many flavors, with emails being only one of those. The message search should reveal unreads of any flavor.

IPhone displays Arabic in message preview but not message body

Hi,
I have an iPhone 3GS and it used to support Arabic just fine, however lately when I get e-mails with Arabic in the message body I can see some of the Arabic in the message preview until I open the message where everything is then displayed in gibberish. Typing in Arabic is still OK, and Arabic is displayed fine in Safari; the problem is just in Mail. Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Open multitasking by double tapping the home button (at the bottom), a row of apps you've recently used should appear, tap and hold the photos app until it wiggles and displays an x, tap the x to close and then reopen the camera roll app. Let me know if it works. It's odd and frustrating, I know.

I have the Olive Tree Bible Study app, which is one of the best tools I have ever used for study and within the app I purchased several resources/concordances that are very useful (plus they had up in the wallet, but very worth it)
I had it on my iPad 2 and when I went to back it up on my iMac, the app doesn't populate in the apps tab. This also applies to some of my games but I'm not that worried about losing those.
I am trying to get those particular apps on my iPad Air.

Go into the App Store from your iPad and select Purchased, then select Not onThis iPad, and download the apps that you want. Because you already own them you can download them again for free ... provided that you are using the same Apple ID as you used when you originally purchased them.
In fact when I look up the Olive Tree app, it seems like the main app is free in any case.
Once you are in the app look for some option to restore purchases.

I use Mail 3.6 and some incoming email messages start with

What causes this problem, how can I fix it?
Text encoding is set to Automatic, and I'm not using any fancy fonts. Senders are usually
