1 of my 4 pop accounts is not saving sent mail to sent mail folder all the other are
When I send an email 3/4 of the accounts save the sent email to the sent email folder. 1 account sends the email out but does not save it??? I have updated to the latest version, I have checked that the location where it saves email is the same setting as all other accounts. Please help
I have 3 pop3 accounts and 1 imap. 1 of the pop accounts is not showing the sent email in the unified sent email folder. The one which is not showing sent email has the same outgoing mail server as one of the other accounts which is showing so i dont think it has anything to do with the email provider

POP account will not stay online. Goes offline even after I "take account
My POP account will not stay online, even when I "take" the account "online" via the mailbox drop-down in the menu bar. I don't think the ISP or the internet connection is the problem as I have three other mailboxes with the same ISP and they all work fine.
Why might the POP account be failing to hold its online status and what can O do about it.

First I'd backup your whole Mail folder.
Try dragging this file to the Desktop first, then logout/in...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Can drag back if it doesn't help.
If that doesn't work try the .plists in...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/
In your home folder, try trashing this folder after quitting Mail...
/Library/Caches/Mail

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you changed your email address and iCloud is looking to sign in with the old Apple ID email. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

My icloud account is not verifying it says check my mail witch I have done and I get a message say your iPhone for has been used to set up and Icloud account but still can not use the icloud can anybody help me.
Be sure you are checking the email account that you used to set up the Apple ID you used to create the iCloud account. Also, be sure to check your spam/junk folder as well as your inbox. The email you should receive looks like the image below. When you get it, click the Verify Now link.
If it still isn't there, try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right look for a link to resend the verification email. -
Is there a way to not have photo stream photos save to my iphone? i have many shared photo streams hoping to not bog down my iphone space. but alas the photos are are being saved on my iphone.

My user ID is Keychain Access won't allow me to access my information in my Keychain. I can't seem to fix it. What do I need to do? I don't really know how to explain it but I can access all the other keychains just not my user account keychain. Can this be fixed?

how do I set up my email account on my iMac OS Yosemite 10.10.2 so that the emails are downloaded to my computer and removed from the ISP server?
When setting up the email using Apple 'Mail' (version 8.2 (2070.6)) I do not get an option to set up my email as using POP. I can go to Outlook from Microsoft and I get a chance to set my mail up using POP, however I would prefer to use the Apple supplied 'Mail' email programme as I'm using Office 365 and may not want to continue the subscription sometime in the future.
Any advice on setting Mail to POP would be appreciated. A not so Happy Wombat. -

In gmail I can visualize all the mailboxes but in hotmail i only can see the inbox ¿how can I visualize the rest of the mailboxes?

You should be able to see two different tabs when setting up the email if you go to Other > Add Mail Account. Once you enter in the email address and password, you should be at the next screen to provide more details about the email as far as incoming and outgoing servers and at the top there will be a blue section to add it in as a POP or IMAP email account. I see songs such as "Monday, Monday" or "Paint It, Black" or even the artist name such as "Fireballs, with Jimmy Gilmer" which have comma's in them, being a problem when I try to do the following:
1. Export a playlist which contains songs which are all there and play fine, but some have comma's in the title such as listed above.
2. I then open that file in Excel and bring it in as a Tab-delimited file. Everything lays out fine, and all the songs are thing (including those with comma's).
3. I then sort the varoius fields I want (which I can't do in i-tunes because i-tunes won't sort it properly), and resave the file as a newly named file, which is also a .txt file.
4. I then import that playlist into my itunes. It is exactly the same songs that I just had exported but i-tunes says some of the songs can't be found.
I have traced this problem to comma's in the file name of the song such as listed above. There must be a solution to this either as the file is opened in excel or in how it's saved or some other solution short of having to rename song/artists without using comma's.

Even if I were able to delete the commas or replace with a space for example, changing the file name would result in itunes not being able to find the file. I would have to go through each file (out of about 15,000+ songs) to find any that have titles such as described in this thread and change not only the song and artist in the fields, but changing the mp3 file itself.
I fear that I am really pretty much going to have to start with a list of songs that have no comma and then do a file compare to find those songs with commas and then just physically moving them into a new playlist I'm trying to create, but this is a royal pain as I want to be able to create a variety of playlists based on these chart dates/peak positions.
I'm trying to sort the songs in this manner: I use different fields in itunes so that I can put the "peak position" of each song based on Billboard charts, as well as the date the peak position was acheived. I use the "comment box" for that. I use the "grouping" field for my peak position.
So I end up with something like "10/14/1980" in the comment box as the peak position for a song which is in the grouping field, and so forth. If I try to sort the comments column in itunes for example, it won't sort properly. If I sort the Grouping field, it will bring up all the "1's", but that's followed by "10", 11, ...19, then "2", etc. This is why I want to export the playlist and sort it as I want, and then reimport the playlist into itunes.
What I'm ultimately trying to achieve is a year-by-year peak position playlist so that I end up with every #1 song (in this case) from, say, January 1st 1980 and then every #1 song in sequential order for the rest of the year falls in line. I have chart position dates from 1955 through 1999. I have entered in all the data from Billboard books I own so I can really create some amazing playlists, but these commas are problematic. Had I known this ahead of time I would have made "Monday, Monday" as "Monday Monday" and not included commas, but it's too late for that.

I have 2 iphones, one for personal and one for business. I need my phones not to sync otherwise they will both ring all the time. How can I log out of my icloud and unsync my phones?
Syncing your phones to the same iCloud account won't cause them to both ring all the time, it only puts the same contacts, calendars, and other synced data on the phone. The phones will only ring with someone calls the number associated with the phone.
If you want to stop using iCloud on one or both of the phones, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then choose Keep On My iPhone when prompted. This will disconnect them from iCloud and keep a copy of the synced data on the phone. -
I duplicated a picture selecting CMD and D but, suddenly, iPhoto (latest version '11) started cloning that picture and replacing all the other photos with it.
Only when I click directly on one photo I can open it and see the real picture it is.
But the preview is always the duplicated one...
I tryed to duplicate another picture just to see if it turned out ok but the only changement was the duplicated picture!
I started repeating the second duplicated one instead of the previous one but my issue remained the same.
So, how can you help me to solve this problem without losing any saved picture?
Shall I re-install iPhoto completely?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Is my website really lost? All the files are in my .Mac account but what?!
I have read several of the threads on the topic and have become quite disillusioned by the thought of having to start from scratch again. HELP!
I originally created my personal website, web.mac.com/username (I've moved the files to a different directory), several months back and had been using the previous edition of iWeb for its creation and maintenance. Since then my former computer, a MacBook, experienced a head crash that left me only with a backup that had been done 3 months prior. Since then, as I have inched my way through updating all of my work files, I have held of on doing anything with my website. I now want to edit it and with the upgrade (10/25/07) to a MacBook Pro and the new iWeb '08, I get that sinking feeling that this isn't going to end well.
My first issue (concern) has to do with how little conclusive and specific information is provided when it comes to the difference between a HomePage site and your other pages, namely when one has created their personal site using the web.mac.com avenue. Why is this process so ridiculously complicated? It really need not be and I wish someone took note of that.
As an avid user of MS FrontPage I was a little leery of using iWeb but was turned on by its ease of use and professional appearing pages and capabilities. However, after having invested all the time in making and publishing the site I am now concerned with the discussion and the seeming reality that I will have to start from scratch. All my files are sitting in my .mac account (I must admit in several locations as I got a bit zealous with ensuring that all the files were there in virtual triplicate) and yet from what I understand there is no way to get iWeb to point to those files so that you can simply begin the editing process again. Is that correct? When I go looking for 'Domain' files or anything of the sort that have been mentioned in discussions on and off this forum, I just don't see it. Is there no way to simply hop back on the train and edit my site again instead of starting from scratch? I'm just annoyed at opening iWeb only to see 'Site' and no other files! If there is a way that someone can share with me how to not have to redo everything, I am not against paying for the 'secret' as I think that the inability to simply 'import' or do anything that seems reasonable here is a bit frustrating. Can you begin again without starting from scratch?
I suppose if I am told that I can't then I will certainly have to turn my back on iWeb as even though MS FrontPage is not the best WYSIWYG, I can at least do directory management and things with manual code that iWeb has yet to incorporate (I do use iWeb Enhancer on my iWeb site to overcome this annoyance). I really need assistance as I would like to edit my website for the first time in over 4 months and as I said before will bail on iWeb if I have to start from scratch. Anyone willing to assist me, I again would be very appreciative. If there is a way, just let me know, I'm savvy enough with these types of things for the consultation process to take very little time at all.

I'm not sure if that policy has changed in the past few months since I last used the program. However, if this file is so important wouldn't one think that it would also be available on the server with all the other files one uploads or backs up to iDisk?! And so for the user of the program to 'not know' or 'know because everyone says' to make a copy of the Domain file is a bit confusing. Again, as I am often careful with website files, that was also the reason why I had made so many copies of the files within the website. I liked using iWeb (and again hope to in the very near future) but because of the limitations I mentioned before, I was only using it to for my personal site. Having used a plethora of other programs I just wanted to be able to keep using iWeb for my own stuff and then as the functionality became available would then use it for others. I should clarify, use it to 'publish' other sites. I'm certainly not going to get into an argument over it and if you'd like to have the last word, that's fine too, I just think that this is a real issue and that if the program worked like others that one could import the files back in, it wouldn't be a problem at all. However, at this present moment I have all the pieces of the puzzle except for the key. I have all the files but am missing a so called Domain file that I didn't even know had existed until this issue reared its head. Again, I'm annoyed at how difficult an otherwise simple issue to address would be. It's almost like saying that I should have known that the hidden 'exe' or 'dmg' file should have been one I thought about when doing any kind of back up and that despite having all the content files, they mean nothing. I will continue to search for the Domain file as I am hopeful that when my IT guy (Network Administrator) backed all my contents prior to the crash, he took every single file and that one should be among them if it is the location as had been previously mentioned. When my Mac crashed, it's as I said, a head crash on the hard drive and so there was no coming back from that. It was truly irreparable as I sent it off to a very reputable data recovery company to save it to no avail. However, I had done a full backup three months prior and am hopeful that the file is somewhere on my work server. If not, as you have pointed out, I'm screwed. And so while I still say that the program is to be blamed for some of its odd idiosyncrasies, I also accept that we'll have to agree to disagree on the issue.
