1 PC, 1 itunes account, 2 devices

I have 1PC, 1 iTunes account with 2 devices.  I have an iPod Touch and recently added an iPhone 4.  I do not sync automatically and know how to only select the apps I want on each device.  I also know how to create playlist for each device.  The problem I am having is with "Words Free", "Hanging Free" and "Scrabble".  Only one of our devices can play the games, if the iPhone plays the game it updates on the iPod the same.  The iPhone is the user of the games and the iPod receives updates as well for the same games played on the iPhone.  I don't know if I can do something differently on iTunes or if the app itself.

Does anyone know how this issue can be resolved?  Who I can send an email to for additional help?  Thank you!

  • Can I use 1 computer with 2 different iTunes accounts and devices? We're afraid we're going to wipeout one library or the other if we do??

My son got an iPhone and wanted his own iTunes account. Now his computer died, and he wants to connect to his iTunes account on my computer. When it asks to sync the computer, a message comes up and we're afraid either his or my library are going to be wiped out by trying to do this. Is it possible to use 1 computer with 2 different iTunes accounts and devices without wiping out one of the libraries? Thanks for any info.

If the content was not originally purchased/synced to the device from your computer it will erase and replace the content from the device with that of the computer. If you have content that you want to backup you can transfer purchases http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848 check this link out

  • One computer, one iTunes account, multiple devices and iCloud accounts, help!

We have a family MacBook and have always held a single iTunes account. We have multiple devices (iTunes Match has proved to be very useful). We have 2 x iCloud accounts. This causes an issue in terms of synchronisation. Is it possible to synch calendars and photos? As mentioned, the music is no longer an issue with iTunes match. Is there a way that we can synch calendars and photos without having to use a single iCloud account? In addition, the only reason we have separate iCloud accounts is for email. Can I keep my mobile.me email without an iCloud account?

I personally would recommend to use different iCloud account for your own stuff like email, calendars, reminders etc. If you want to have a calendar for your family then just share it via your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Yes, you could keep you me,com email address but it should be migrated to icloud because MobileMe was shut down.

  • One itunes account multiple devices in family - help

I have one itunes account but multiple devices used by the family and I am having conflicts with sharing and face time, imessage etc.
    Listed devices
Me - iphone 5, Ipad mini, Apple Tv, Macbook Pro 13" (just purchased)
    Wife - iphone 5, ipad
Daughter - iphone 4, ipad mini
    Son - iphone 4
    Son - ipad
At the moment we all use one itunes account (mine) we all have our own email adresses etc.
I have itunes U which can be accessed.
The problem is everyone wants to use face time and imessage etc but I keep having conflicts with the devices sharing eachothers messages etc. Plus not eveyone wants to share photos etc so how do you manage that across mulitple devices.
Is it a set up issue or is it easier for everyone to have their own accounts.
    Thanks

You could simply ensure that only the numbers and addresses you wish to use on each device are checked at Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. However this isn’t an ideal solution because the other person can always change these settings from their device and have some fun with you and your contacts.
You’d be far better getting them to delete your account from their device and have them create one of their own. If you are sharing an ID for some other service such as iTunes, you can continue to do so, you only need change the ID for messages.

  • Using multiple iTunes accounts/libraries & devices on 1 computer

    Hi,
We have 2 ipods, with 2 different iTunes accounts and 2 different libraries on the same computer. We also have 1 not-so-computer-literate user . I know how to switch libraries at the time you start up iTunes, but keeping track of what account is active is a real problem. What happens when you purchase a song and it goes into the wrong library? What is the best way to manage this so that it is clear as to what device/library/account is currently in use?
    Thanks,
    M.

The tricky part comes next, if you want to share music on this same PC between all users:

It's the steps near the bottom that get most folks
+Repeat these steps for each account that is listening to shared music.+
+When another user of the computer has imported new music from CD, repeat steps 6 through 8 to add the music to your library.+

  • ITunes account and devices

Okay here is the scenario - we are a crazy apple family. I am mom and live on my ipad and MacBook. I would have an iPhone too except my employer supplies a different device. My husband has an iPhone 4S, my son an iPhone 5s and my daughter an iPhone 4 and ipad.  My kids are 15 and 12 so obviously I am paying for their phone plans (so far).
Here is the dilemma. I have an iTunes account where I have purchased A LOT of stuff but my question is about music. I have my devices, daughters devices and hubby's device linked to my iTunes account. So no problem. In an effort to give my son some privacy I did not link him to the account.  But now he would like all the music I have already purchased on his phone.  And I am NOT purchasing everything again.  Can someone please tell me there is a solution to this?  He just wants the music and I don't want him and his sister to be "linked" to each others devices.  Is there a way to put all the music I have purchased to his device?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, that way you can each manage your own mail, contacts, calendars, documents etc and avoid unintentional deletions and unwanted editing. If there is information you wish to share between you, this can be done with a secondary account.
Having separate iCloud accounts, doesn't mean you have to have separate iTunes accounts, so whilst you keep your personal data separate, you can continue to share music, apps, books, TV shows, movies etc.

  • One iTunes account; 5 devices

I have an iTunes account, iphone, ipad.  My husband got an iphone and ipad and my daughter an ipod touch. All of these devices are under my iTunes account. If we turn use the iCloud, will our calendars and contacts remain "his calendar" "her calendar" or do they all merge?  I sync my iphone calendar with my work software.  Will those appointments be on my husband's calendar?  I can't figure this out.  Help please?

If you use the iTunes account as an iCloud account for all of you, yes, all of you will have everyone else's information.
What I'd recommend is using the same iTunes ID, then having each person have their own iCloud account so that your data is mixed.

  • Multiple users, 1 iTunes account, multiple devices, iCloud, help!

My wife and I share 1 itunes account.  She uses a PC, I use a macbook.  We each have an iPhone4, iPads and iPods.  I am in the process of setting up the iCloud and am having some issues.
First, my Apple ID is not in the form of an email address, so iCloud doesn't recognize it.  I have a mobile me account that I have migrated over and my wife uses AOL for email.  I cannot set up iCloud on her ipad or iphone because the apple ID is invalid.
Secondly, if I change my Apple ID to an email address, it won't let me use my mobile me email, so I would have to create a new one.  If I do update with a new email address, what happens when I activate the iCloud on our devices?  Will all 4 devices then become the same when synched?  How do we keep them individual when synched with the same iCloud account?
    Thanks

Here's my situation, and what I have discovered:
My family shares one Apple ID for our iTunes purchases. We have two iPhones, two iPads and an iPod touch all running iOS 5 between us. The 'master' Apple ID, that we all use for iTunes, is my e-mail address. I created a separate Apple ID (their own e-mail addresses) for each individual in the family, which is used to connect to the iCloud for the purposes of syncing and backing up to the iCloud.
The only odd configuration I have found is that each device that I set up with a different Apple ID for the iCloud, also retains an iCloud mail account with the 'master' Apple ID. The e-mail address (the 'master' Apple ID) for this iCloud mail account (called 'iCloud') cannot be changed, although the account can be deleted (which I don't want to try because I don't know the consequences). The only thing I have enabled in this iCloud account is 'Find My iPhone/iPod' so all my family's devices can be seen in the Find My iPhone app using my 'master' Apple ID.
Using this setup we have been able to maintain our own Contacts and Calendars, all synced to iCloud using our individual Apple IDs.

  • How do you combine 2 iTunes accounts, 2 devices and 1 PC?

I have an iPod and an iPhone. I have 2 different iTunes accounts but want to be able to update and sync both devices on only one PC. Is that possible? And what are the steps in doing so? I don't want to lose any of my music on my iPod, but I also have some great music on my iPhone that I want to keep as well. In a perfect world I could transfer my iPod music to my iPhone. I don't want to screw anything up with either device but only have one computer, so really unsure how to do this. Thanks!

You can't. Only someone at Apple could possibly do that for you.

  • Using multiple devices in iTunes, each with different iTunes accounts

My husband and I are trying to go from 2 computers to 1 in the house, but cannot figure out how we can run iTunes on one computer, with multiple iTunes accounts and NOT download each others apps, music etc automatically. My son also has an ipod which I want to have as a separate account.
We still want to be able to share some of the downloads amongst each other - but selectively, and not have them automatically downloaded as they would if there were all on the one library / account.
From what I can see on the online forums I can create a new library for each device to stop the automatic transfer of purchases, but then cannot find how we can select what we do and dont want to share amongst each other, or if this is even possible with multiple libraries.
Is there a way that I can do all of the following:
Have multiple devices on 1 computer in iTunes
Each device has its own iTunes account
Each device retains its own library
Each device can select what purchases we want to share amongst the devices, without it automatically transferring onto each device?
    Many thanks!

  • HT1495 I have a iPod, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. My desktop PC contains my iTunes account with music from my CDs. Recently I used my laptop and bought music on my iTunes account. Now my devices will not sync to the desktop (they timeout). What is the problem

I own an iPod, iPhone 4 and iPhone4s. My iTunes account with my music library (copied from CD's) is stored on my Windows desktop computer.  Recently, I used my Windows laptop computer to access my iTunes account and purchase some music which was downloaded to the laptop computer. I then synced the iPod and the iPhone 4 to the laptop and was able to add the purchased music to these two devices.
Yesterday I bought the iPhone 4s. I want to copy all the music library found in my iTunes account stored on the desktop computer to the new iPhone 4s. When I tried to sync the iPhone 4s to my desktop iTunes account the device "times out". How do I get my music library that is on the desktop copied to the new iPhone 4s?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs?

  • How do i add my macbook to devices in my iTunes account?

I have recently purchased a macbook air.
I wish to add it to my iTunes account under devices.
I cannot find anywhere that allows me to set this up.
    Suggestions would be appreciated.

It will only potentially show in the 'manage devices' section of your account if you use iTunes Match or automatic downloads on it, or if you redownload past purchases on it : Manage your associated devices in iTunes - Apple Support.

  • I had reached the maximum authorized devices under my iTune account. I am trying to deauthorize two but when I log to my iTune account it only give the option of deauthorize all

I had reached the maximum authorized devices under my iTune account (5 devices). I am trying to deauthorize two but when I log to my iTune account it only give the option of deauthorize all which I don't want to do.

To individually unauthorize devices, you need to go to them, either physically or through Virtual Network Computing, and use the Deauthorize this Computer command.

  • I am trying to change or add the email address which is attached to my itunes account. I keep getting a notice saying email address is already verified for another Apple ID. Im sure its one of my devices. How can I get my current email address added?

My itunes account is attached to an email account that I no longer have and cannot retrieve. I have been having trouble with purchases made to my itunes account and want to view my purchases. The support center said that they would email me the purchase history. However, I don't have that email address. When I go to change my email address to my current one, I get a message in red saying that "the email address is already verified for another Apple I.D." I'm sure it is one of my devices as we have 4 ipods and 2 iphones. How can I get my account to use my current email address? If one of my devices was registered using my current email address as it apparently was, do I need to figure out which device that is and remove the email address from that account? I'm so confused. I just want ALL my devices to use my current email address. I need to replace the old email address with my current one. How do I do that?
    thanks for any assistance.

Your best bet would be to try resetting the password to the account that you would like to use via iForgot
Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account.
