1 position, 1 person, 2 chiefs

I need to know, how to add the following issue into OM: 1 position (1 person) with 2 chiefs in 2 differents organizational unit.

Hi Ruben,
If it deleted the first O-P relationship when you created the second one, means the time constraint for that relationship is set to "1" or "2" meaning you can have a position related only to one organizational unit at a time.  This can be changed, but it will affect all positions, so that they may be assigned to more than one organiational unit. 
In the IMG: Personnel Management --> Organizational Management --> Basic Settings --> Data Model Enhancement --> Maintain Relationships.  Select the 003 relationship and then the folder "Time Constraints" on the left side.  Go down the list to the object type "S" appears and the A003 "Belongs to" relationship.  On the right, the entry is probably "2".  Change this to "3" and Save.  This will now allow you to have a position belong to more than one org unit.
Again, this will now apply to all positions, so if you do a reorganization, for example, you must make sure the old relationships are delimited manually as they will not be done automatically as they would be if the time constraint remained "2".  So I ask - is this what you really want?  Does this person really report to two different chiefs in two different organizations?  Or is one a "dotted line" or functional oversight relationship.  After the change, this individual will now appear in each manager's organization and either one would be able to approve time, grant pay increases, approve vacations, etc. 
It can be done.  Are you sure it is necessary to do this?

    Please go to HRP1008 table with OTYPE S OBJID ID of the position BEGDA LE SY_DATUM ENDDA GE SY-DATUM.
    PERSA field will give you personnel area.
    Then go to T500P table with PERSA field.
    NAME1 field gives the description of the personnel area.

    I have a WiFi only iPad1. I use a Verizon MIFI 2200 hotspot device that is about the size of a larger, thicker credit card. It easily fits into a shirt pocket. It does not connect to the iPad by any cable whatsoever. It is a free standing device. You can connect up to five devices at a time with the 2200. However, like any cell phone, 3G, wireless connection like this, in some areas the reception/connection is great - in other places - not so much. Sort of the anti - "can you hear me now?"

  • Unoccupied positions with personal area

    Experts,
       Hope all doing well.    I would like to assign personal area 1000 to unoccupied positions in the HR system.
    We have a BW report which needs to pick up unoccupied positions where personla area is 1000, but our 0employee masterdata is not picking up personal area 1000 for unoccupied positions. only occupied positions have personal area attached . Hence our BW report is showing only occupied positions. How to get personal area (1000) for unoccupied positions as well.
    Please advice. any advice greatly appreciated.

  • Position to Person one to one relationship..

    Hi All,
    We have Position to Person one to one relationship should be maintained at all the times. But when an EE serves a notice period of 3 months, the company wants to hire someone at his position during the 3 months of notice period. The leaving employee is still utilizing that position for 3 months after serving the notice period.
    What is the best posible soulution to go about it? Company doesn't want to create a copy of the position for this action. As after the EE leaves that position would be there.
    Please suggest.

    From my point of view the solution is quite simple, but is not what you want - you either have to double the position (copy the initial one, create a new one ) or you have to hire 2 people on the same position. The clients need to decide.
    You might want to try to work around the various percentages, (it 1, 7,8) but I do not think that would work cause you want in the same time the person to be 100% allocated to the position, you want it to work full time, and you want the person to get full salary.
    In my current implementation we hire 1 person-1 position, but as an exception for Knowledge transfer we leave 2 people. In the Hiring action we have a reason - Knowledge transfer so that we could understand what is going on when running reports.After 3 months, when the Retired person leaves, the replacer simply remains on that position.

  • Delegation using A999 Relationship from Chief Position to Person ID

    We have occasions in which we have managers in chief positions that need to delegate duties to others in their organisation. This is enabled via the set-up of an A999 delegate relationship that goes from the Chief Position to the person that they wish to delegate responsibility to.
    Is there a report or transaction that can be used to understand what A999 delegation rules are in place to determine who the delegates are possibly. Example I set-up A999 relationship on a chief position # and indicate (P) Person related object, specifying the person id to undertake delegation. If someone asks me to tell them which position # a particular person is delegate for I have know way of knowing, unless I can find this via a report some way.
    Is it possible?

    Hi,
    Yes.. check it out the document in the Evaluation Path transaction OOAW. Select the info button of A999. You will get the doc about that relationship. If that is customized one, you need to maintain the relationship doc.

  • Position to Person one to one relationship..Soultion??

    Business Scenario  (1): Time Constraint Class=1
    Reason: - CLIENT wants to have one to one person to position relationship at all times
    Before the Exit Action, CLIENT runs u201CPre separation Actionu201D and put the last day and notice period day during the Action execution. The notice period is 90 days.
    Now CLIENT wants to hire a new EE on that existing position during that notice period of 90 days. Here the Time Constraint class=1 is not allowing to hire 2 person on the same position
    The Proposed Solution: (Which has been rejected by the client)
    1) Copy the existing position and hire the new EE on that one and mark the existing position Obsolete during the exit action or EE leave the company -now the CLIENT is worried on the Headcount increase on positions and doesnu2019t want to create new ones.
    2) The second solution that someone has provided me is that; attach the backfill guy to the work center, which is actually connected to the position instead. How is that done and is it going to solve the problem?

    Solution 1 is generally accepted in the industry. Try and convince the client with the following reason:
    1. Tracking of costs becomes easier (since the position relationship exists in line with the active status of each employee)
    2. Situations like reversal of separation are handled as matter of course within the system (a situation which would be difficult to carry out if two employees hold the same position)
    3. The solution lies in standard SAP. Activities like creating a custom relationship (for temporary holder of position) and custom evaluation paths, and costs of these activities, are avoided.
    Other than allowing two employees to occupy one position or carrying out solution 1 in your message, there is no way in standard SAP to meet this requirement (the assumption here being that creation of custom objects, relationships and evaluation paths are not part of the standard SAP solution).

  • Org Unit with more than one Chief Position

    Hi,
    we have implemented MSS via the portal using a one-to-one relationship between Org Units and Chief Positions, and we would now like to have multiple Chief positions attached to one Org Unit.
    As far as I can tell from the SAP documentation, this should be straightforward, but the results we are getting do not seem correct.
    I have an Org Unit that has position 1 and position 2 assigned to it with relationship A/B 012 denoting that they are Chief Positions.
    User 1 is holder of position 1 and user 2 is holder of position 2. 
    Both users have the same security roles.
    The views used on the portal are configured using the MSS Object and Data Provider functionality, using the standard ORGEH view, evaluation path for root objects SAP_MANG and evaluation path objects SBES.  The checkbox 'Excl. Managers' is ticked.
    The problem is this - both users can see all the subordinate employees in the Org Unit when they log on to MSS but user 1 can also see user 2 in his list of employees, which is not correct as user 1 and user 2 are both chiefs.  User 2 cannot see user 1 in his list of employees, which we would expect.
    The only logic we can see for user 1 being able to see user 2's details is that user 1 must be somehow defined as the 'superior' Chief Position, but we have not defined this as far as we know.
    Any ideas as to why this is happening for us?

    Hi Fran,
    Sounds like you have set up the reporting structures and MSS properly.  I do question why two chiefs for one org unit.  As you stated, both can see all employees and so both can approve time, give pay increases, etc. without the approval of the other.  If this is want you want, then you have set it up properly.  Usually, one has to approve the actions of the other, thus, is in a superior relationship.  This can be handled by having a higher level new org unit with the higher person as chief and the lower stay as head of the lower org unit which reports to it. 
    As you have it now, both individuals have the same rights and access.  They should both be excluded from iViews if you checked the "Excl. Managers" box.  Since, you just recently made one a manager, have you checked for any date dependencies?  If the Chief #1 is selecting a view for "Current Year", for example, he would be able to see all persons who reported to him for this year, which includes Chief #2.  There are no 'superior chief' designations (except by structure), so without being able to view your configuration, my suggestion is to check all dates for the assignments and relationships vs. dates of the view.

    Chief position is know as the highest level in the Org hierarchy
    If you look into the TCODE PPOM provide the Org unit then -> Staf Assignments you can see the Org Hierarchy. The highest level in the Hierarchy is know as Chief position.
    Technically if you wanna find out chief position of an employee you have to first fetch the Org unit of the Employee then with the use of evalution path you can fetch the position who manages the Org unit with the relation ship B012. This position is called as chief position.

    Videomaker magazine (which I do subscribe to, but really more for the advertisements and/or new equipment announcements) is known for their very shallow technical depth.  For instance when they do a survey on a subject they just go out and list all the manufacturers of say tripods and list a couple of characteristics and no testing or opinions of great or poor characteristics, so they are appealing to the very amateur crowd.  Articles like the Overview article I just gloss over.  In this case they just listed Adobe's minimum requirements and presented no experienced hands-on data as to what it really takes to be productive.

    Are you performing a hiring actions, if you are performing a hiring action, when you start with LSMW, the recording should be correct with hire date or start date, personnel number, reason for hire, position number, personal area, employee group and subgroup.
    The source field you specific should contain the required field name, type, length and field discription.  The field mapping should be done perfectly and assign the specified file in txt format and try to upload.
