1 px border not displaying in HTML email

Hi,
I created a HTML with a 1 px gray border. I opened it in Entourage and the border is not visible. Not sure why this is happening....
Thank you.

Designing HTML emails is a challenge because email clients differ so much in what they do and do not support.  I don't know about Entourage specifically but Lotus Notes definitely doesn't support borders in HTML emails.

  • Image not displaying in HTML email upload

    Hi there,
    I've uploaded a HTML email into E10 and linked all images as per the standard process however one is just not displaying. It appears when I look at it in Eloqua, and when I do a preview but when I send a test email it won't and just leaves a blank black box. I'm not sure how I need to remedy this, anyone else come across anything similar?
    Thanks
    Marika

    Hi Marika,
    From experience, in the majority of cases this happens when the Outlook HTML rendering engine isn't playing nice with your design. If you are using this client, have you checked the email on other clients or webmail (Gmail, Yahoo!, etc) to confirm? Support can usually help for emails created through the WYSIWIG editor, but custom HTML uploads would need to be reviewed by the person who authored the code. If you can pinpoint it to a particular email client, there are usually quite a few resources online that can provide guidance. Check outHTML Email Design Resources
    The first thing I typically check out is whether the image is vertically and horizontally aligned with the elements near it, because Outlook has a tendency to put things into its own tables and slight misalignments can dramatically change the final code. If you're having recurring issues like this, investing in analysis tools like Litmus can be worth it.

  • OCS Webdesk will not display attachments on emails sent from Thunderbird !!

    Hi,
    Emails that are sent with attachments from Mozilla Thunderbird clients display in my Webdesk folders without the attachment!!
    Funny thing is that the size of the email means it obviously has an attachment but the attachment does not display in the email, meaning you cannot open it.
    If you view the same email via Outlook with the Oracle Connector then it is fine.
    Emails sent to my webdesk account from Microsoft Outlook come through o.k.
    I tested this problem by sending emails with attachments from Apple Mail to my webdesk Inox and the same thing happened, email without the attachment visible !

    Webdesk means Web Access Client right ?
    We've never seen such a problem, works flawlessly here. Did you try with another account ?

  • Image not displayed in html output used webservice to store in a location

    hi
    we have used webservices to store the pdf and html outputs but the problem is when we are seeing the preview in the bi publisher we can see the image in pdf and html but when we run through webservices and see the output files that are stored in some location image in the html output is not displayed but in the pdf we can see the image.
    i have used the direct insertion image option in the header section. is the problem because i have used the direct insertion.
    can you give the idea how to import logo from an external location so that we can check the if it is problem with direct insertion or problem with the webservice as we are storing the output files outside the catlog but it may not be wrong because in pdf we can see the image.
    I am not having any idea how to solve thsi issue..
    Sorry to bother you with these many questions
    Thanks in Advance
    Have a Nice day.

    Please state which BI Publisher version you are using.
    In case it is 10g then please always test the application with the latest patch first!.
    BTW today there is been a new patch 11846804 released for 10.1.3.4.1 (March 2011).

  • Does not display all of email

    email message is cut short. These messages take up: 7.9kb What does mean and how do I fix it to show all of message?

    one email message or many, from a single source or multiple sources. Usually when an email does not display as expected it contains javascript, which Thunderbird does not allow to run for security reasons.

  • SSRS Report - background image not displaying in MHTML email

    We have a report that has a rectangle with an image as a background (doesn't make any difference whether image is external, embedded, etc). The background image displays fine on the screen and when exporting to PDF, but doesn't show when emailing (via subscription)
    in MHTML format and opening in MS Outlook, gmail, etc.
    It seems to be a legitimate bug with SSRS (have tried in SSRS 2008 R2, 2012, 2014).
    Is there a workaround? Service Pack?

    Hi Corey Gray,
    Per my understanding that the background image in the email subscription not display which format is MHTML, right?
    I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue. I deliver this report to three email amounts: Outlook, Hotmail and 163, below I will share the test results with you.
    Outlook: the backgroudimage disappear in the email body and there is no one attachment being sent in the email.
    Hotmail: the backgroudimage disappear in the email body, however, the backgroundimage being sent as one attachment in the email.
    163: the backgroudimage displays in the email body and the backgroundimage being sent as one attachment in the email.
    Based on previous test results, we can conclude that: these different scenarios caused by the settings of the email rather than Reporting Services.
    If you are using Outlook, I would recommend you submit one thread in this Outlook forum,
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/outlook/threads.
    In this forum, you can get more professional support about how to set the Outlook.
    If you have any other question, please feel free to let me know.

  • Png or jpg not displaying in BC email marketing

    I'm dropping both pngs and jpgs into BC's email marketing tool. For some reason, they display correctly in BC, but when I send a test email out to myself, the images do not display. Help!

    Spaces and funny characters in file names on the web is basically something to NOT do.
    A few browsers, coding solutions, API work, Email clients can all be effected by this and cause rendering issues. Just stick to the lower case, no spaces or character rule on file names.
    Also avoid scaling the images in the editor - May look good and may come out in some email clients but some like Outlook will keep the image size as its natural size and emails will come out not as you expect because of this.

  • Email signatures not displaying in received emails.

    I can't see the signatures in the emails which I received from other people (not my own signatures in emails I sent out). All my emails are viewed in HTML format. I have no problem when I send an emails with my signature. I still sees it when I received
    the reply they reply to me.
    All I see is their signatures became html/jpg/pdf files IN the attachments.
    Please help with this issue. It is driving me nuts.
    Thanks!

    The problem is likely with the source, not the destination.  If you're not seeing signatures on emails from other people, then they are probably not adding a signature.
    If you're seeing a 'distorted' signature with email attachments for the graphics, then either organization may have a policy which prevents HTML emails.  If an email is forced to plain text, it will alter the view that you are seeing.

  • Text object's border not displayed

    Post Author: darshanku12
    CA Forum: .NET
    i am trying to open the report from the application it does not display the border of a text object but in the preview i can see the border

        i do my work like this:
       char jsScript[MAX_JSSCRIPT_LENGTH+1];
    sprintf(jsScript, "var f = this.addField('%s','text', %d, [%d,%d,%d,%d]); ",sFieldName, nPage, l, t, r, b);
    sprintf(jsScript, "%s f.value = '%s'; f.textFont = font.Helv; f.textSize = 14; f.textColor = color.%s; ",
           jsScript, sText, sColor);
    if(bReadonly)
      strcat(jsScript, "f.readonly = true; ");
    else
      strcat(jsScript, "f.readonly = false; f.strokeColor = color.black;");
    return AFExecuteThisScript (pdDoc, jsScript, NULL);
    The problem of this way is that :i can not put \r,\n,\t into the f.value,how to format the string that i can input some control code of the string?

  • Image not displaying with HTML text field

    I am trying to display am image within
    flash using CS3.
    I have a text field with the following code.
    feedback.htmlText = "<img src='Logo_small.png'</img>"
    nothing displays. The image and flash document are at the same level, so that is why I am using a relative link. Do I need to use a full (absolute) link to the image?

    That's not properly coded html...
    feedback.htmlText = "<img src='Logo_small.png' />";
    image tags do not have a closing tag and you didn't close the opening tag if they did, so it would still fail.

  • Email links to open a web page do not display in my email using Firefox. They do display using Internet Explorer. Why?

    My email account on Network Solutions site no longer show links sent to me. Someone sent me an email with a link for me to click on to fill out an online form. The link did not display. If I forward the email to another account, I can see the links. If I open the email in Explorer, it also displays the link. Why does Firefox 18 not display the links?

  • E61 doesn't display cyrillic HTML email attachment...

    Nokia E61 build-in email client correctly recognizes all Russian encodings in plain-text email messages. But if the message contains HTML attachment written in Russian, E61 fails to display it properly - what I get is just a garbage of ISO-8859-1 accentuated symbols; looks like E61 fails to parse and recognize encoding parameters in MIME boundaries.
    Heres a short example (fragment of headers and message body that is being displayed incorrectly). Note that it's completely OK with the subject, the problem is only with the body.

    Would you please provide me the any other way to attach a UTF-8 encoded file. Since I noticed that the (.html) file attachement that I am sending along with the mail is not UTF-8 encoded.
    This is the reason why the same html markup text (along with the non ASCII) characters are rendered correctly(in all browsers), when I was using an external UTF-8 Editor (gedit) and saved the .html file in UTF-8 format.

  • Not displaying images in emails

    I'm using Apple Mail to view a Gmail account. I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard, but downgraded back down to Leopard when I experienced so many problems. After the downgrade, I have not been able to view images coded via html in emails. If I access the email account directly though Gmail, the images display just fine.
    Does anyone know anything about this one?

    Hi Kenneth
    In Mail Preferences > Viewing select Display images and embedded objects in HTML messages.

  • Image not displaying in HTML output

    Hello! We have been using Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 to generate PDF reports which contain a logo. However, when the same report is changed to DESFORMAT=HTML or HTMLCSS, we get a red "x" for the image. I'm not sure if this is issue can be resolved within the Oracle RDF file itself, or whether it is because of our architecture. We are executing the reports from Oracle Application Express, which utilizes HTTPS protocol and is hosted by Oracle HTTP Server on a server located in the DMZ of our corporate network. The Reports Services server is on a separate server, located within our corporate network. The Oracle Reports are executed through the browser using HTTP protocol. Could this be an SSL issue or a reverse-proxy issue on OHS? It seems that the image cannot be displayed in the browser because the path to the image is not recognized or valid. The image was embedded in the RDF file via Insert...Image, not File Link. This issue is not exhibited in our DEV environment, where both OHS and Reports Server are within the network. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hello,
    Right click on the red "x" and select "properties" to check the URL used to "download" the image.
    The reports servlet will use information defined in the HTTP server conf file (httpd.conf) to build this URL
    Parameters are :
    ServerName
    Port
    UseCanonicalName
    You can fnd details in the "My Oracle Support" document :
    How the Reports Servlet Builds the URLs Inserted in the HTML/HTMLCSS output (Doc ID 276306.1)
