1 server, 4 screens and keyboards, is that possible?
Hi all.
Is it possible to have in the same room 1 server and 4 screens and keyboards wireless connected to this server? when I say 4 screens I mean only that, a screen with a keyboard and mouse without any more computers. So 4 people using the same computer at the same time...

Hello Biopolako and welcome to the Apple Boards.
The short answer is no.
Servers are designed to provide services to many users simultaneously but not an actual user space for more than one user at a time.
If each user has their own computer they can all share data stored on the server between their desktops or they could have network home directories and they could all store their working files and systems on the server but they can't use the operating system of the computer itself.

What kind of noise?
The only things I can think of that make noise are fans and disks. Fans usually will not cause the computer to shutdown as you describe. My guess is your disk drive died. I hope you made a backup prior to start the ungrade.

Macbook pro screen and keyboard light turns off
Hello everyone,
I have an issue with my macbook pro, if im sitting at a table and i glide my laptop slightly my screen and keyboard light goes off and i cant see anything.
I have to turn it left or right to try and get it back on.....same thing if i close my computer and reopen it again it wont wake up from sleep mode.
anyone else having a similer issue? is this software related?That seems like a loose or failing cable.

Recently loaded Lion on my laptop and now my computer crashes often. Black screen and keyboard lights up. Any ideas on what's wrong and how to fix this?

I used utilities to source my 10.6 snow leopard install disc to my main hardrive, and now when I turn on my computer the apple with the spinning wheel stays on the screen and stuck like that. How do I fix it Help please. I already tried all the commands such as Command R, Holding down the Option key, C and holding down shift at the start up but nothing happens.
initialy All I was trying to do was downgrade 10.7 to 10.6 .You have to consider the possibility the hard drive may be dying. If your data isn't backed up, try one of the tools below:

Auto brightness of screen and keyboard backlight not working
Basically, since I updated to OS X Lion, the auto brightness feature for the screen and keyboard hasnt been working, despite the fact I have it turned on
Thanks in advance for your helpSame problem here. I initially thought the auto-brightness problem had been fixed in 10.7.3, but sadly it hasn't. The auto-brightness works when the Mac starts, but I find it loses control and fails after wake from sleep.
I have telephoned AppleCare several times but they are not aware of this bug. They think a PRAM reset cures it, but it doesn't. As soon as the machine goes to sleep then auto-brightness fails on wake.
I have used the Apple Form to report the bug. It might eventually get fixed if others would kindly report it as well please. Here is the link:

Yes, if there are Arabic letters then there have to be English letters as well, because otherwise you could not type any email or web addresses.
As to where you can buy such a machine, you have to contact stores in the country where you live directly yourself and ask them. Nobody in these forums represents Apple or any store. Apple stores do not ship outside the country where they are located. -
I use Safari as my browser. When on a site and I click on a PDF file I get a black screen and a notice that "Adobe Reader blocked for this website". However, this does not happen if I use Firefox.
Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
Allow Plug-ins
Then click
Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Four days ago the lock screen and keyboard sounds quit working, but was able to reset the settings. Two days ago I had to do this and turn off the device and then restart it to get the sounds back. Today they suddenly went out and I can't get them working again. The settings are correct and the device is not muted. My OS is up to date. What else can I do to get the sound back?

Not waking up from sleep-flashes lighted keyboard and screen, and I cannot unlock the padlocks in the system to change settings, look at keychain, etc.

I can't reinstall ML, nor can I create another user (unless I use Terminal, and I'm a novice at best with Terminal).

Share Magic Mouse, Screen and Keyboard between two Macs
Hi folks,
I'm considering buying a Magic Mouse for my work/studio-setup, mostly because of the way the touch and gesture features are implemented in Logic Pro X. Until now, I have used a Mac Pro directly connected to one DVI-display as well as a MBP. Both computers are also connected to a KVM-Switch sharing a second DVI-display and a wired Logitech Mouse and wired Apple Keyboard. I always liked this setup because I can switch between mouse and keyboard for the computers and the screen they share with the single click of a button on the KVM's remote control.
Is there any way that is as simple to control as this that I could set this up using a Magic Mouse while making sure that I can still use all Apple-specific gesture and touch functionality? From what I have read some people are using Bluetooth-Dongles on their KVMs USB-Ports, other use Software like Synergy or ShareMouse. But all of these solutions seem to make the setup more complex or seem to make some of the functionality I would buy the Magic Mouse for unusable. Instead of having to install some additional software on my machines that runs in the background all the time and is prone to compatibility issues etc., I would prefer a solution that is based on hardware and uses just Mac OS system features. Also, a solution that takes more then a couple of seconds to switch everything (KVM) between systems is not of practical use for my workflow. I would very much appreciate any hints or experience on this topic that you can share.

MichaelAutomatic does not work for me on this particular task. . My primary computer is an iMac. On travel I use a MacbookPro. I want the MacbookPro to have the same Contacts list as the iMac. I am logged into iCloud on both computers. The MacbookPro needs to be syced. On it I logged out of icloud, and in doing so I chose to delete files from the computer. Then I logged in again to icloud. That put a lot of additional lists of groups into the Contacts, lists that are not on the iMac. But some individual pages are not updated to match the iMac.
I tried to manually copy (and overwrite) the various files on the MacbookPro that seemed to deal with the Contacts, including
my Library/Applicatiion Support/AddressBook
my Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
They are still not the same.
On my Macbook I unchecked the Contacts, which deleted them and checked them again. This now deleted all of my groups and the individual ones are not synced with the iMac.
So now I have had three different versions of Contacts on the Macbook, as I manipulated turning on and off iCloud, and not one of them has been the same as on iMac.
How do I get the Macbook contacts to be the same as on iMac? -
T410 won't boot, blank screen and keyboard unresponsive at power up.
Hi, my Lenovo T410 laptop won't start. I hit the power button and it looks like it's about to boot up. The thinklight blinks on as normal, the cd drive is checked, the caps lock button blinks on, then nothing. No display, and keyboard is unresponsive. Power light remains on; if I leave it a while the fan comes on. I can turn the machine off using the power button, but the problem remains next time I switch it on.
I've tried removing power and battery, pressing power button 10 times then holding power for 30 secs, before replacing power and battery, but nothing happens. I've tried using a different keyboard. I've tried plugging in an external monitor. No change.
This problem appeared after I left it on overnight. I have a hunch that it went into hybernation mode, perhaps, and that it disrupted some important function which it was unable to complete. Not sure though. Any help gratefully received.

So I took out the HDD and both RAM modules, including the one under the keyboard. At power on it beeped as follows: 1 beep, followed by 2 series of 3 beeps, followed by 1 beep.
I replace the HDD and one ram module under the keyboard leaving the other one out - this didn't change anything; I then switched up the RAM modules - again, no change. Does this mean the motherboard and processor are OK? What could the problem possibly be in this case? Very mysterious!
Incidentally, I should perhaps have mentioned that I kept the unit in an unheated room and it did get very cold there a few days ago, which coincides with when the booting problem first appeared. -

I am using windows XP, well I was not any more due to below problem.
Laptop blue screened and now any time it goes to windows xp screen blue screen comes and reboot the system. Its not working in safe mode at all. Keyboard any mouse are not working. I cannot even go to BIOS.
I tried to plug a USB keyboard but still its same. I cannot even boot from CD.
Please could some one advise what do I need to do in order to resolve the problem.

How you can test it in safe mode if keyboard doesnt work? I mean before Windows starts you have to press F8 key and then go down to select safe mode. Therefore you need the keyboard
In your case I would try to remove the battery and AC/DC adapter for at least one hour. Then connect both devices again and make sure battery is fully charged. Start your notebook and try accessing the BIOS setup and load the default settings.
If Windows doesnt start you have to do a recovery installation I think. Some Windows files might be muddled up

I captured from HDV (Apple codec) and edited a sequence in FCP (new version) but I have to transfer it to Premiere Pro. I tried to export in HDV1080i and other codecs but the clip are accepted in PPro but no sound and plain red image. The sequence is
