Please assist me because I have been patient and can't fix this problem on my own.

Hold down the power and home buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears. If it does not after more than 30 seconds, you'll have to take it to the Apple store.

How are you reading e-mail? in a browser (like Safari) or with a separate mail program like Apple Mail or MS Entourage?
Entourage and Mail have 'larger/smaller" text commands. In either, typing command + or command - will zoom or shrink the text.
The same commands work in the Safari browser.
Much of this comes from people with small-screen devices sending to people with really large screens. I have a friend who asks all his contacts to use a larger font than default when they e-mail him. He has a really cantankerous Windows box that will not let him increase font size in received messages.
If you have a 27-inch iMac the huge amount of screen real estate may make a lot of text hard to read. That's what I have, and I set the desktop resolution to a smaller number to get larger text. My 27-incher defaults to 2560x1440 and everything is small to my old eyes. I changed it to 1920x1080 and lost none of the sharpness but gained a lot in font size.
If you want to try this, go to System Preferences > Displays and make sure the "Displays", not "Color" tab is active. Click the round button next to "Scaled" and you'll be offered a selection of desktop resolutions.

Suddenly can't access my favourite sites ... others are fine ...

Five times in the last 2 weeks, I have been unable to access favourite sites .... Flickr, Blogger, and four or five others, for 24 hours / 36 hours at a time ..
5 computers on our home network .... none can access these sites .. no problem with other regular sites ... such as Google, Yahoo, but strangely, with Apple and Cahoot Bank (UK) , I can get the home page, but then progress no further ..
ALL errors are 'server stopped responding' ... all the sites are 'up' as my next door neighbour can access them all, every time ...
Is there a plist file to trash .. or two? Or is it a cache problem somewhere along the line .. ?
VirginMedia (ISP, UK) deny it is them .. it affects all computers on our network ...
I'm not on an ISP blacklist .. AND everything works fine with Ethernet into the back of the iMac .....
I then plug the Airport Extreme back in and rebooted and re-set everything and the same sites (which were fine 5 mins before) Flickr, Blogger, ..... nothing .. but Google / Yahoo are fine ...
Is this a DNS thing ... Airport ... DHCP ..... plists ?
Why intermitent ... and why particular favourite sites??
Any insights would be gratefully received as it's driving me nuts - and the kids want to use their computers too ..!

OK .. hate replying to my own posts .. but, all day today I have been running my main machine straight with ethernet connection .. can access all the sites that are problematic when wireless ....
Had to re-use Airport Extreme so that the kids could access their favourite sites on computers around the house .....
I was already on two Apple discussion pages.. and after the new wireless connection started working, I could still surf about the Apple discussion website no problem .. then if I tried to log-out .. it said the server was 'no longer responding' ........... and off course I still can't access Flickr, or the other sites I mentioned ..... from ANY machine, but no problem with Google, Yahoo etc.
Anyone ANY ideas please ....... ?

Images are not showing in Google Reader for some websites, others are fine

Some blogs show images in Google Reader, some do not. I can click on the blog subject and go to that blog directly in another tab and I see the images just fine, just not in the reader.

Extremely low-res pics when copied to photostream while others are fine?

I have some downloaded iPad (New iPad, iPad 3) wallpaper images that I copied to Photo Stream so I could use them on my new iPhone 5. Some of the images copied just fine, while other pictures are low resolution & very pixelated. I thought maybe I was trying to copy too many at once. So I deleted the bad ones and tried again, copying each pic one at a time. They still show on Photo Stream at very low resolution. Does anybody know why, and what I can do to fix this?

OK, I guess I figured it out...
Below is a sample of one of the images I was trying to put on Photostream.
The problem must be something with iOS, because the garbled image on the left only looks that way on the iPad 3 & iPhone 5. When accessed from my PC, the same image is at full resolution (2048x2048). And then when I upload the same image back to Photostream, it still gets resized to 1536x1563, but at much better quality as can be seen in the image on the right.
I'm glad I found a workaround, but it's very annoying that it doesn't work the way it is supposed to.

IDVD5 won't import specific iMovie into project. (Others work fine)

I'm utterly baffled. Over the course of a year I made six short iMovie films composed of a mixture of stills and video set to music. Each time I successfully used iDVD to burn DVDs for grandparents.
I'm now trying to create an omnibus edition with all six films in. I've successfully created a menu using one of the templates and can drag most of the films from finder to iDVD. But one of them just won't import. It still plays fine in iMovie, with no stray files or corruption that I can see. All settings (permissions etc) seem to be identical to the other five movies, but when I drag it across I don't get the green "+" sign indicating that I can drop it onto the menu.
I've eny tried re-importing it from a previously burned DVD using MactheRipper, converting it back to DV format using Streamclip and using that file in iMovie. Same result.
If anyone has any suggestion I'd be most grateful.
I'm using iDVD 5 and iMovie HD.

Thanks for the questions.
a. Plenty. I forget exactly how much, but I had run out once, which caused other problems, so bought an additional HD and moved everything onto that leaving my boot drive as lean as possible.
b. Each is less than 10 minutes, so total duration well under an hour. In any case it's not when I go to add the last one that the problem occurs. And I tried a new iDVD project containing only the problematic movie and it wouldn't work even on its own.
Menu is a single opening with one link to each movie.
c. Can't think that there's any odd formats involved, as all the movies were built up in the same way: photos from iPhoto, film clips imported from DV camera directly into iMovie. Sound track is made up of MP3s, butthen so have all the others AND I've successfully used this movie in iDVD in the past.

Why would just one of my songs not be authorized to be played on my computer? All of my others are fine and I'm only authorized on one computer!

I have bought one song that I can't use because it says my computer is not authorized to play it. However, my itunes account is only authorized on my one laptop so it seems to be a glitch. Anyone out there know how to get the song I paid for, to work?

Since the emails received fine from other machine, something must happened when the email arrived the impacted machine. This usally could be caused by the anti-virus, to verify this, please try to run Windows in clean
boot mode to check this issue. If this behavior won't occur in the clean boot mode, please then try to remove the anti-virus and check again.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Internet Slow on One computer, others are fine

I have three computers in my house (a notebook, a laptop, and a desktop PC). The first two have internet speeds of 25/15 as advertised. The desktop is getting 8/9.5? Strange that the upload speed is actually faster than download also. I've googled every way to optimize my PC to no avail. How do you target the problem on one computer. It checks clean for spyware and viruses. I've ran an optimization of my TCP settings which changed the some registry entries, but did not change the speeds. I'm stuck!

Ok, so when dealing with 1 PC as opposed to all, your culprits can be either hardware, software, or configuration related. First off, with this PC you gave speed results of 8/9.5. Was that wired or wireless? If it was wireless, what are your wired speeds? Use multiple sites to check (speedtest.net, speakeasy.net). What are the PC specs? Are you running any firewalls? Anti-virus protection?

Bought music on itunes but one album wont sync onto my iphone. All others are fine, i have removed it and reloaded, re synced etc but to no avail - what am i doing wrong!?

I have bought loads of music off itunes before and loaded to my iphone. I recently bought an album that for love nor money will not load to my iphone although is clearly visible in my itunes account. I have tried removing it and resyncing it, reloading it, syncing and then reloading the whole phone but still to no avail. Any ideas what I might be missing!?

Have you updated your phone to iOS 5.1.1? I know the most recent update aided to resolving this issue. If you have updated, though, does the album look like its downloading and then stops or "crashes" at the very end?

See if the iPad will accept the password after you restart it. It's worth a try.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You could also try a reset as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Cannot call a specific person on FaceTime?

I have had this problem the past few weeks. I cannot call a friend on FaceTime. It says it is connecting, but always fails. I tried creating a new contact with her info, but no luck. Calling anyone else in my contacts works perfectly. As far as I can tell it's just her.

I have come across a couple of threads asking about this. It would seem that some raw files convert into something OSX can read, others (like Sony ARW) create dng files that OSX cannot read. Has anyone had any luck with this? I thought the idea behind dng files was that they were universal and not brand specific.
