1 Unlimited data 1 basic both eligible for upgrades

So I am on a family share plan and i have unlimited data on my smart phone.  My mother has a basic phone along with my dad.  My question is what steps can I take to keep my unlimited data plan upgrading to an Iphone 5 at the discount price and also upgrading my mom's phone to another new basic phone.
Line 1- Basic phone eligible (mom)
Line 2- smart phone unlimited data eligible for upgrade (Mine)
Line 3- Basic phone not yet eligible
I want to keep my unlimited and get an iphone 5 and my mom wants a new basic phone.  Dad (line 3) will just upgrade to another basic phone when he is eligible for an upgrade.

You will lose your unlimited data plan.  If you ever upgrade your line to get ANY device you are agreeing to the new terms which will take away the unlimited data plan.  It's either you buy your mother a phone outright and use her upgrade for yourself, or buy the iPhone 5 outright.

  • Can anyone help me with this: my daughter lost her unlimited data plan when I used her upgrade.

My daughter lost her unlimited data plan when I used her upgrade to buy a new phone (upgrade transfer). She didn't upgrade her phone, I did. No one told us this was going to happen and the first I knew of it was when I got a letter in the mail telling me of the change. We went back to the store where we bought the new phone and they put in 2 requests for her unlimited plan to be reinstated, but both were denied. They then told us to call Customer Care, but Customer Care doesn't care. Does anyone else have any experience of this and know of any recourse we may have? Thanks for any help you can give me.

She didn't upgrade her phone, but you did by using her upgrade.  It's her contract that then gets extended, not yours.  And, unfortunately, as of last June, whenever you sign a new two-year contract, you lose your unlimited data.  You can try to reverse the upgrade and get the unlimited data restored if within 30 14 days, but since Verizon has discontinued the unlimited data plans for everyone, I'm not sure how successful you'll be.
For what it's worth, to keep unlimited data (at least for now; rumor has it that it may be completely gone next summer), you don't want to sign a new two-year contract, but pay full retail price, get the phone elsewhere (like ebay), or use an upgrade from a phone that's on a tiered data plan.
It's 14 days, tiki.  Otherwise they are out of luck.

Ok first of all if you have unlimited data and you take a discount upgrade you will lose that. As far as upgrade Verizon just announced today that the S4 will be getting an upgrade sometime later this year to allow it to use the AWS spectrum Verizon is deploying for LTE

  • Does my current plan have to be eligible for upgrade in order to partake in the trade-in for iPhone 6 promotion?

After reading the FAQ of the iPhone trade-in promotion, I am still unsure if my iPhone 5s has to be eligible for upgrade before trading in for the $300 gift card. Can someone please help me out?

It's important to know the terms of the promotion rossmurtle3, I'm here to help. Your iPhone is eligible for the trade in promotion value as long as it's in good condition, meaning no damage. However, to receive the discount on the iPhone and pay by signing a new 2 year agreement, your line needs to be eligible for an upgrade. You can check the date by calling #UPG. If not eligible, you can still trade in your iPhone 5S for the promotional value and apply it to retail value of the iPhone 6. Here's more info http://vz.to/1peg7TS.

  • I bought MainStage2 on May 30 2013, Am I eligible for upgrade to MainStage 3

I see today the new MainStage3 was released. I was unaware this was coming. Now, what is my eligiblity for upgrade to MainStage3? I just bought MainStage2 on May 30th of this year.
    Thanks,
    Allen

Just to let everyone know, I reached out to Apple through the online process and Apple resolved this!!! I should get a refund in 7 to 10 days. This will allow me to purchase MainStage 3.
Now the plus was that I was able to present Apple with all my details regarding the original purchase and that along with being a n00b with Apple may have helped.
Apple Customer Service was a pleasure to work with and I won't hesitate to engage again if needed.
Apple also supplied me with the following:

  • If I buy an iPhone from the Apple store do I have to be eligible for upgrade under AT

I really need to know ASAP. I have an iPhone 4 right now but I'm not eligible for upgrade until next May and I was wondering because the site doesn't say anything about upgrades, it just says to click which GB plan you want and which server you're under.

You can buy whatever you want so long as you can pay for it. If you're not eligible for an upgrade, you'll just have to pay full price for the phone, that's all.

  • Objection! Why can't vista home basic be eligible for the free windows 7 upgrade?

It's not fair! If I know only vista home basic cannot be eligible for the free windows 7 upgrade when I bought my T400, I would rather pay more to have other OS. Lenovo have never mentioned this before. I think I should have the right to know my future benefit. Does anyone have the same question about that upgrade program? I feel terrible.

Microsoft has given all OEM's the requirments for the free upgrade to Win 7.
Lenovo is only following Microsoft's guidelines.

  • Does unlimited data plan no longer exist after upgrade?

My GF and I both have had unlimited data for a couple of years now. She recently upgraded her phone when she became eligible. Apparently, she can no longer be on the "unlimited" plan and had to choose a data cap plan. Will this also happen to me? Is the unlimited data plan just no longer available once I upgrade my phone in January? Anyone know? Thanks in advance. (incidentally, I'm still on the unlimited plan right now)

I also got that message sometime in the last month (don't remember when). I tried again on a different day and it worked normally.

  • Upgrading a device without being eligible for upgrade.

Hey guys, just wondering if there is a way I can upgrade my phone without having to pay full retail price. The new iphone is coming out next month and my contract doesn't end till November 2011 which is practically almost a whole year.  Is there a way I can just extend my contract another two years and get the iphone 4 at a discount price or do I basically have to wait? I don't mind extending my contract another two years on top of my 1 year because I don't plan on switching wireless companies, but is there a way that this could work? Thanks for any advice you can give me!

No you can not. You need to fulfill the contract you willingly signed when you fell in love with your last device. .
Verizon needs to recoup the cost of letting you have a subsidized device, which is why you need to wait.
Now if you are the account owner, have a base plan that is over $49.99 and have been on your contract for 13 months or more.... which you have, you should be eligible for an annual upgrade.
If you log into your online account, click on the HOME tab and see what date is shown for an upgrade. If you are eligible for an annual upgrade, the date will reflect that.

  • Can I keep my Unlimited Data if I use my husbands upgrade?

The last phone I bought was the iPhone 5s and at that time I was able to use my husbands upgrade and keep my unlimited data...then he used my upgrade...I am wanting to do the same thing. Do I still have that option and will I be able to preorder over the phone at 12:01am to do it?

That's a good question and the new iPhones are nice hl7272! If you and your husband are on separate accounts, you will be able to activate the new phone on your line, (account), and keep your unlimited data. However, if you're on the same account, you won't be able to do the Alternate Upgrade and keep unlimited data. Even if you're using your husband's upgrade, when the phone is activated on your line, you will need to choose from a current data plan.
    Thank you,

  • Using iPhone 2.5G, Not Eligible for Upgrade to 3G?!?

    Okay, so here's my story...
I've had an original iPhone for a few months (bought it used), and was using it as a glorified iPod touch, testing it to see if I wanted to get the 3G when it came out. So I decided I'd get the 3G, but on a family plan, in which my Mom gets a cheapo free phone, and I get the 3G.
First problem: Apple Stores don't sell other phones, so I can't buy from Apple.
So, I go to the AT&T store. They have no 3G iPhones, but the man who sells us our phones assures us that I can do the following:
    1. Buy a family plan with two cheapo phones.
    2. Activate my original iPhone.
    3. Go to Apple and upgrade to the 3G iPhone at the subsidized ($299 for the 16GB) price.
However, this morning I went to the Apple Store (after activating my original iPhone last night at home), and the man on his little handheld computer said that I am not eligible for the subsidized price. I'll have to pay $499 for the 16 GB iPhone). Well, after having waited for an hour (I arrived at 7 a.m. after the Apple Store employee yesterday said they open at 7—but that was only M-F), I left, because the man told me I'd have to call AT&T to sort it out.
So I called AT&T, and the lady (with a particularly Indian accent) told me I was ineligible, since I don't have the original iPhone purchase receipt from Apple.
So have I been screwed over?
Worst case scenario, I end up canceling my AT&T plan and switching back to U.S. Cellular. I want to get the 3G, but what the heck? This is insane. Why can't they give me the standard price? It has been reported all over the Internet that AT&T will let existing iPhone customers upgrade to the 3G, and indeed a few of my friends already have.

I completely missed that in those videos, then...
So, if I took my subsidized phone back to the store, would they let me give that back for a 3G, then? The only reason either of us switched was so I could get the 3G, but if I can't get it for $299 now, then I'm just going to forget about getting one at all, and switch back to US Cellular (we had more minutes in our plan!).
As an aside, the lady who answered at AT&T's help line told me that if I have a receipt for my current (original) iPhone, dated prior to the 11th, I could get the subsidized pricing on the 3G. Unfortunately, I do not have the receipt. Couldn't they tell by the serial number when the phone was purchased?
These are exactly the reasons why I hate cellular plans/companies... I thought things were changing with the original iPhone, but now it's back to square one (except more complicated, since Apple Stores only have iPhones, but can do some family plans, but not others!).

  • MyVerizon tells me that some of my lines are eligible for upgrade at a discounted price...but when I click on the link, it says "upgrade at full price." What's up?

The chat function helpers tell me that I am eligible, but that they can't help me. What what?

We are eager to help you upgrade your lines, DrVern!
When you dial #UPG or check online via My Verizon, are you able to see which phones are eligible to upgrade now with 2 year pricing?
If it is not clear, allow us to help. Please look for a direct message from me. We'll figure it out.

  • Am I eligible for upgrade?

I have a Macbook Pro 2010. It came with the iLife '09 product set but I'm not sure if that is the formal iLife bundle. Would I be eligible to upgrade to iLife '11 for $49?

the $49 is not an upgrade in that sense - it is a full version that anyone can install if they meet the hardware requirements -- http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC623Z/A/iLife-11?mco=MTk0MjIwMjg
