1 video stream 3 sequences in there, how to play 1 chapter then return

I have one 10 min video stream made of 3 sequences from fcp, I have set the chapter points and have 3 buttons on the menu. I need it to press button one, play track one then return to menu. Then press button 2 that should play chapter 2 then return to menu and so on for button 3. ( return to menu )
For the life of me I can see or know how to do this? Anyone got any ideas?
regards
Daz

Set the end jumps for the tracks (if seperate tracks) to the menu, otherwise the end jump for the markers to return to the menu (if all on same track and you do not need a play all function)

    What error messages are you getting? The videos are likely created with Flash, or another plug-in, which can't be played on the iPad.

    Hi Sheerazkaleem,
    Adobe has a big open source initiative in this area.  The initiative is now known as "Open Source Media Framework" (aka OSMF; formerly codenamed Strobe).
    Full information at the OSMF homepage here:
    http://opensourcemediaframework.com/
    Following link is a webcast recording which provides a good overview (recorded June 3, 2009).  The presenters are the OSMF Product Manager Sumner Paine and the OSMF Engineering Manager, Vijay Ghaskadvi:
    http://realeyes.acrobat.com/p91043652/
    Quick question, are you developing with Flash?  Flex?  Both?
    Regardless, for what you describe, you likely will use ActionScript to control playing ads and flvs.
    OSMF includes ActionScript classes of type CompositeElement ( http://help.adobe.com/en_US/OSMF/1.0/AS3LR/org/openvideoplayer/composition/CompositeElemen t.html )
    including the subclasses
    ParallelElement
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/OSMF/1.0/AS3LR/org/openvideoplayer/composition/ParallelElement .html
    SerialElement
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/OSMF/1.0/AS3LR/org/openvideoplayer/composition/SerialElement.h tml
    For more support on OSMF, the OSMF forums are here:

    Please post back regarding whether you find this reply helpful?  (Also, I look forward to seeing your posts over on the OSMF forums too ;-)

  • I watch a video stream via VLC plugin; how can I open it in VLC player?

    In Windows 7 I watch TV streams that use the VLC plugin; I would like to know how to obtain the stream "address" and open it in the VLC Player itself!?

    Then ask on a vlc forum, or the TV support site.
    Some companies streaming TV will not be intending for you to operate in such a manner and potentially save their content. Copyright issues are likely to be involved.

  • Adobe encore gives error 19 " Primary video stream attribute must be consistent within play list

    anyone know what this means when burning Blu Ray disc?

    Yes.
    It means exactly what it says - the primary stream must be consistent.
    In Blu-ray, any video timeline is a playlist. In Encore it is possible to put multiple clips into a timeline, and these must be the same.
    Same video type & format
    Same Audio type & format.
    Do you have any timelines with multiple clips on them?

  • TV Show plays half, then returns to main menu

    We synched Married...With Children and Cheers (Season 4) with no problems, but we are having issues with Cheers, Season 3. When I watch an episode I get to the 10 - 12 minute mark and the episode stops playing and the iPod returns to the main menu. The episode plays fine in iTunes, so I think it should play fine on the iPod. Why is it different? How do I fix it?
    We are running Windows Vista and iTunes 7. It is an iPod Classic (160GB), software version 1.1.2 PC.

    Try restoring your iPod.
    For more details, read here: How to restore your iPod
    Also, what firmware version is your iPod running on? See your iPod's info in iTunes, or go to "Settings > About" on your iPod to learn what version it's running on. (it would be either 1.2 or 1.2.1)
    If you currently aren't upgraded to 1.2.1 (which is the latest), give it a try, and see if anything happens to change or work for you.

  • Help implementing QoS for Video Streaming

    Hello friends!
    I am trying to implement a quality of service logic for a videoplayer based on the Brightcove API. As I have learned it's a better idea to use methods in NetStreamInfo class (eg. currentBytesPerSecond) rather than using a native bandwith check.
    E.g. (where nc is a NetConnection object)
    var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
    var nsi:NetStreamInfo = ns.info;
    var cbytes:Number = nsi.currentBytesPerSecond;
    use cbytes to evaluate which quality to chose...
    The problem is that streams are initiated (by videoplayer) using the Brightcove API and not directly using NetConnection.connect(). The BC API doesnt seem to give me any access to the classes listed above either, altough I'm certain it's utilizing them.
    Are there any Brightcove or video streaming experts out there that have a clue as to how I can access the NetConnection object used by Brightcove? Or if i can access the NetStream object or even tge NetStreamInfo object directly.
    best regards,
    Fredrik

    You don't have your egress queuing setup. You need to map your COS values to a queue, then you can allocate bandwidth to those queue's. This makes lower priority traffic wait while higher priority traffic gets transmitted.
    I have a few configuration examples on my site that may help you. Remember that the config that I have may not be the best for your network so you will have to figure that out yourself.
    http://goatnetworking.com/CiscoCSwitchQOSConfig.php
    Make sure that your QOS profile on the WLC is set correctly. I found one of my controllers didn't even have a value set in the profile, but the profile was applied and doing nothing.
    You need to apply the policy map to mark packets on the port where the video source is on your network.
    You need to Trust DSCP on all of your trunk ports or the switch will ignore the dscp markings.
    QOS may only be one of many issues that may be causing your problem. Your AP's could be overloaded with clients, your data rates may not be optimized, etc..
    I hope this helps

    Do you only experience this behavior when visiting the Reuters website? Have you tried other sites with streaming video?

    Now I'm stuck with a just-about useless camera. I really need something as small as the FH1 (it's TINY).
    Hard-drive camcorders record MPG2, which I assume makes them just as useless.
    Is then MiniDV the only choice for a sub-$500 1080i/p camera that will allow me to edit footage without converting?
    If so, any tips on the smallest one out there?
    Google came up with Sony's DCR-PC55, but it's four years old and only does SD...
    Do you want good OR do you want cheap? That is the decision you need to make. Also, tiny tends to be the opposite of good.
    P.S. AIC converted it best; ProRes(Lo/HQ) left it pixelated for playback. But it takes about an hour a minute, and increases the file-size tenfold, so it's no good anyway.
    Yes, your actual editable video file is going to be 10x bigger than a MPEG-4 file. That is what you want.
    P.S. 2 "....FCP is converting your video behind the scenes which is causing all your problems."
    If that's the case, then my oldish MacBook Pro (2GHz Duo, 2GB RAM) has enough juice to play the 640x480 MPG4 clips smoothly, but not the HD ones. Could the latest MacBook (2.5/6/8GHz, 8GB RAM) could play the 1080p30 clips smoothly?
    No, you still have the same problem. MPEG-4 files are non-editable. You really need to convert to an editable format and then bring that into FCP. MPEG Streamclip is going to be your best choice.

  • How to play live Video Stream with Flex?

    I'm trying to get Flex Builder 3 to play a live video stream with Flash Media
    Server and Flash Live Media Encoder.
    I'm able to stream pre-recrorded (vod) flvs in flex from flash media server.
    I'm able to stream live video using Flash/FMS/Flas Live Media Encoder, but not
    with Flex.
    This code streams pre-recorded Video on Demand flvs, but not live streams:
    If I change source to "rtmp://localhost/live/livesream.flv, I get nothing.
    What am I doing wrong?
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!-- controls\videodisplay\VideoDisplayFMS.mxml -->

                autoBandWidthDetection="false"
                source="rtmp://localhost/vod/Legend.flv"/>
        </mx:HBox>
    </mx:Application>
    Oh and sorry for the double post. I didn't know there was a seperate FMS forum.

    That worked! Thanks  *very* much. Stupid of me to forget to set the live attribute to true. Also removed the .flv. BTW: what video component do you prefer?
    Here's the working code:

  • When I import my files only the audio plays back not the video. If I export the sequence its there?

    When I import my files only the audio plays back not the video. If I export the sequence its there?
    I am new to Premiere having just downloaded the 30 day trial yesterday, I jumped straight in and imported all of my files from my video camera however in Premiere only the audio plays back with the displays just showing a black space.
    Out of curiosity I dragged three or four shots into the sequence editor and then exported them and played this through VLC and the video was there?
    As I said I am completely new to Premiere having only spent around 3 or 4 hours with it in the past, I read a few forum threads around similar issues but couldn't find any solutions and as I am trying to edit together a short film for a college project due in soon I need to try and find a way to fix this A.S.A.P
    Any help would be appreciated and if theres any more info I can provide please let me know.

    Video Streaming using AirPlay from iPhone(5s) to Apple TV only plays the sound.   The TV screen goes blank when I choose AirPlay but only the sound plays.   How can I fix this?

    Is this using a specific app or apps?  Not all apps support video out over AirPlay, the option is up to the app developer.

  • SpryTabbedPanel: Flash player in tabs do not play video streams

    Note: I am a complete noob (no experience with Javascript and rudimentary experience with htlm/css). Please be patient (I hope that this is the correct forum for this) and know that I am appreciative of any help or solution that anyone can provide.
    Using Dreamweaver CS4 on Mac OS 10.5.8
    We recently switched all of our streaming servers from Windows Media (good riddance) to Flash Media Server 3.5 (now getting awesome H.264 quality in comparison).
    I was asked to re-design this webpage with the aim of re-organizing the content so that it is more accessible:
    http://www.librarymedia.net/VideoGallery.html
    We used Adobe's test page for our first page:
    http://www.librarymedia.net/flash/videoplayer.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.4/live/livestr eam&type=live&idx=10
    This was meant as a temporary page to get us started, and as you can see, it needs work but at least it works.
    I've been working the the final version of this page. My boss wants a tabbed web page with links to our video streams (tab for each category of streams).
    This is what I have so far:
    http://www.librarymedia.net/Flash2/videoplayer2.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.4/live/lives tream&type=live&idx=10
    I realize that I had several options before building this. One, I could have made a separate page for each tab and linked them with a tab menu. In hindsight, this might have been a better option since I could have just copied the working page that we already have for each tab. Or I could have done what I have tried to do: to use Dreamweaver's SpryTabbedPanel to make the tabs and insert a Flash player with links into each tab.
    The problem:
    1. The streams do not play. The player says "initializing" and then "please enter a stream name and play". Please note that I used SpryURLutils to get each link to open in the appropriate tab.
    2. After reading about the benefits of external vs. inline javascript, I took all of the inline javascript that was contained in Adobe's sample page and placed it in an external file. I tried placing the javascript back into the source code (inline), but this did not fix the problem. I guess there is a Javascript problem or I need extra Javascript code to get this to work.  The javascript code is below. Use view source in your web browser to see source code. Please let me know if I need to provide more information.
    Thanks.

    The sample doesn't really tell me what I need to do to the code to make it work (I do not know javascript), and unfortunately, I have not found any helpful instructions/documentation online. You've given me the answer, I just don't know enough to implement it. This is what I've done:
    1. Placed the FAVideo.js file in my site folder and linked it to the page: <script src="FAVideo.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

            playerOne = new FAVideo("divOne", "TabbedPanels1", "demo_video.flv",0,0,{ autoLoad:true, autoPlay:true });
        </script>
    <!- I noticed that the body code added a div id called "divOne", so I added the "TabbedPanels1" div id to the above code thinking that this would apply the javascript code to all of the tabs. Dreamweaver adds <div id="TabbedPanels1" class="TabbedPanels"> to the page when you insert the tabbed menu, so I'm thinking the javascript has to point to either one of those for it to work. The "demo_video.flv",0,0 code is probably unneccesary, right? As you can see, I'm completely clueless. -->
        <script>
            playerOne.addEventListener("playheadUpdate",this,myHandler);
            playerOne.removeEventListener("playheadUpdate",this,myHandler);
            function myHandler() {
                //alert("eh");
        </script>
    </body>
    Once again, thanks for your help.

  • How to play HLS stream in flex

    i aim to create a flex mobile application for iOS platform,which will play videos of streaming form.
    as i kown,only Http Live Streaming(HLS) is supported on iOS, then how to realize the playball of video of HLS form?
    if i have a valid m3u8 playlist url,how to play it in my flex mobile application?can anybody help or give me some advices?
    i will be thankful!

    GRag and Mesh are correct. You cannot use Flex to access a file on a user's hard drive, which is where your path is pointing.
    Instead, create a folder within your Flex project, under the "src" folder (example: src/assets/videos), and put the SWF there. Change the path in your code to point to the new location, like "assets/videos/myVideoFile.swf". Note that you don't refer to the src folder; it is the "root" of your application, and when you deploy all your files to your web server, you will be copying the folders you created to the root folder of your web server. So, all the paths will remain consistent. Flex will attempt to find "assets/videos/myVideoFile.swf", starting from the "root", or location, of the application itself.

  • How to play videos uploaded to iCloud?

    So I had some pictures and videos that I had to delete from my phone to make space, but I thought I would upload them to iCloud before deleting them, assuming that would keep them. I know you can go on iPhoto on your mac to see the photo stream but my videos aren't on there. On my photos app on my iPhone (5, if it matters) there is a shared tab at the bottom and when I go on it, it has my shared streams. My videos are on there but when I try and play them they take a long time to play at all and when they do, they only play 1 second or the video is paused but the audio plays etc, any other way for me to access them and is there a way to get them to work or download them back onto my phone or something else?

    Hi NTArrowSniper,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    I understand you have several questions about Photo Stream and your pictures and videos. Both of the attached articles have a lot of great information you can use as a resource. To address why you are not seeing the videos on Photo Stream first, videos do not work with Photo Stream.

    Which photo formats does My Photo Stream support?
    My Photo Stream supports JPEG, TIFF, PNG, and most RAW photo formats. My Photo Stream doesn't work with video.
    As far as downloading your photos back to your device or computer, yes you can do that. Please review the following article for instructions on how to do so.
    iCloud: Shared Photo Streams FAQ

    Can photos be saved or downloaded from a shared photo stream?
    Yes. After photos are shared, anyone who can view the shared stream can download and keep them permanently.
    On a compatible iOS device, you can save photos to the Camera Roll. On a Mac, using iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later, you can save photos from the shared stream to your local Photo Library or any other location on your Mac. On a Windows PC, you can copy photos from a shared photo stream to any folder. On the web, photos can be downloaded directly to your computer from the detail view of each photo.
    Have a great day,
    Joe
