10.0.2 pdf fiels

Hi,
In some instances, such as the widely used Blackboard university student learning system I am unable to open/download .pdf files using firefox 10.0.2 on Mac Lion 10,7.3. I can access these files using older versions firefox.
Any known problems?

Have talked about this in the past and my experience up to now has been that projects started in 10.0.2 were ok. Not true anymore. Had one today where titles revert to default. The default can be the title or substitle line or the postion you left the title can go back to where the default postion is located. Seems to be limited to one title in project, but just as a test, quit several times and get various results. One occasion both title and subtitles defaulted, had one each and one where only the position switched. MacPro, 4 core, 16gb memory, working with Panasonic TM700 footage.

Tags, alt text, and PDF accessibility

I'm thoroughly confused. I just finished the layout for a 176-page book in ID and I'm trying to tag the book for PDF accessibility. I read that it's better to tag in ID before you export to PDF. My problem is, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do or how to do it, and everything I'm reading is confusing me even more. I'm getting nowhere.
I'm not expecting a full course on this, but can someone please answer a few questions to give me a kick start (I may even ask the wrong questions). 1.) How do you add alt text to graphics in ID, or Acrobat? 2.) How do you add a tag in ID. I mean, I can add a tag but I don't know where or why I'm adding it. 3.) How do you manually tag a file in Acrobat 9 Pro or edit the auto tagging once it's done?
I'm using the most recent versions of ID and Acrobat Pro, and the most recent version of Mac OSX.

I too have been trying to figure this out and have followed the steps
to add alt text to InDesign before exportign to PDF. I just can't see the alt text in either PDF or in a browser displaying thee PDF fiel - I know the tagged text is there because when I open
the "touch up Reading order" dialog in the
accesibility tab of Acrobat - the image displays with the appropriate Alt text. I' checked the accessibility otpion in the browser as well [expand all alt text for images] but I still don't see the alt text when I mouse over teh image - what am I missign here?

Video into PDF? Sounds reasonably strange. In any case, the only way to use such files would be to extract the components in Acrobat. Select the actual video with the Touchup Object tool, righ-click, save to disk. Depending oin the specifics of the PDF fiel this may not work, though.

If what you mean is that you want to annotate already existing PDFs the answer is yes. Goodreader will let you do this. You can highlight stuff. You can type stuff. You can also use your finger or a stylus to hand write stuff onto existing PDFs. It then saves as a copy, so that your original is still intact.
It's not free, but I find it worth what I spent.

I have a MS VS 2008 C# application that generates PDFs. I also have Acrobat 7.0. I would like to programatically merge these PDF fiels in to one. Is that possible with C# and Acrobat 7.0? Thanks.

I can not print any PDF files, I don;t understand why

Can you try the following things
1. Open Reader XI from the Reader dektop icon or through the programs menu. Open Edit > Preferences > General > 'Select Defualt PDF Handler' > select Reader XI and then click Apply.
If step 1 does not fix the problem then try repairing the application using the following steps.
Repair Adobe Reader XI from Control Panel > Programs and Features > Select Adobe Reader XI and click on Change and then select Repair

Adobe Acrobat 8 to 9 Standard

Our organization recently purchased 5 Acrobat upgrades and 4 full verions via the volume license site. I received one serial number (which I was later told the upgrade isn't really an upgrade but the full verion) and download via email downloaded the software and when I tried to run it in on my computer it told me I had to uninstall version 8. Do I want to do this click next. I do it then pops up an error message 1714 saying the older adobe acrobat 9 (not 8) could not be uninstalled. I called support they say I have to manually uninstall 8 which I try then I get another error message. Installation source for this product is unavailable verify that the source exists and that you have access to it. WHAT? So I find a solution to the Error message 1714 which is to run Adobe CS3Clean Script and that I have to have Microsoft Windows Installer Clean Up tool. I run them both walk through the instructed process. Now Adobe 8 doesn't show up in my program files but when I try to run Adobe 9 it still think 8 exists. Argh! I am in version limbo. Meanwhile all my pdf files are no longer pdf fiels adn I can't open any of them. HELP!

Reboot your computer. Then try running the MS Installer Cleanup Tool again. It should remove all references to Acrobat 8 and allow you to install Acrobat 9.

Cover image is not shown in explorer

Hi guys, I've already got a new lap which runs W7 ultimate (x64) and Adobe Reader X 10.1.3 but the cover image (the first page) of PDF fiels is not shown in Window's Explorer. Any hints?.

If the image isn't displayed, just try a new paint after a while (for example after 1 second).
Another way is to implement the ImageObserver interface who can announce you with the imageUpdate() method when the entire image is loaded:

Need Help! Traditional chinese characters not well in Adobe Reader on Win 7

We receive pdf fiels from our partner and it has gone well. After we upgrade our client OS to Windows 7. The traditional chinese charcters become some kinds of symbol. But it shows well in Windows XP with the same version 9 of Acrobat reader. Here is the font propriety of the pdf:

OCI XML mapping

Hi,
We are working on SRM 4.0 EBP 5.0 CCM 2.0 implementation project and are in process to design the system to read data from external catalog.
The data is successfully read and mapped into OCI parameters if the data sent from external catalog is in HTML format. Now the problem is coming when the data is sent in XML format. I believe only by maintaining two parameters as 'xmltype' and 'xmlDocument' in the XML file coming back from web services (supplier's)the data can be mapped into OCI parameters. Can anyone please confirm this understanding. As before requesting suppliers for these changes I need to confirm from my end.
Is there any way provided by SAP by which we can test the XML data punch outs.

If you want to exchange catalog items with supplier web catalogs, they have to be OCI compliant, HTML or XML.
And then, they should use the newest ESAPO version, i.e. ESAPO3.5.
If this is not the case, you will have to map the XML file by yourself to get OCI structured data.
Look at OCI 4.0 specifications (service.sap.com/srm --> mySAP SRM in detail --> SRM 4.0 --> Strategic Purch & sourcing --> Catalog Management --> PDF fiel Open Catalog Interface 4.0 ):
The OCI can also process an XML file. Here the same architecture is used as in the pure HTML variant, this means the XML data is embedded in an HTML form for the transfer from the catalog to the SRM Server via the users browser.
To transfer an XML file, besides the fields mentioned in section 3.3, two further HTML-input fields are used:
xmltype:
This parameter specifies the type of the XML file used so that the correct XML mapping can be found. Up to and including SAP Enterprise Buyer 3.0 the mapping of the received XML data is done exclusively in the Business Connector which must be set up for this purpose for the relevant SAP Enterprise Buyer System.
As of SAP Enterprise Buyer 3.5 the mapping can also be done in the SRM Server itself. A prerequisite is that the corresponding XML schema is used. The previous schemas are also supported.

Submit button to trigger BSP event

I have a BSP applicaition which is already existing, now I need to integrate a Adobe form for User Interface.. On clicking the Submit button in the Interactive form.. I should trigger an event and at the same time it should call the 'On Input Processing' method of the BSP application.
Please help me if some one has done it .. or give ur suggestions .. ?

On Click of Save button of ADOBE, It should trigger Click event of Save button in BSP Page.
Is there any script event in Adobe Form to access window.document object of my main page?

Accessibility and tags

We are running Acrobat Prof 8.1.5 for Windows XP Prof.
When we create a PDF through INDCS3 and hand tag the original document in Acrobat (which also contains form fields), all is fine. When we try to update the PDF file and maintain the complete tag structure, we use an "insert pages" process which keeps all the tags in place, then we delete the old document pages at the beginning of the PDF file. This works most of the time. One of my staff found that even though she uses this process, the tags get all moved around. If she extracts the pages as separate files, the tags are correct. When she tries to merge them into one doc again, the tags are off.
We constantly have forms that get updated after we get the PDF file tagged for accessibility. Is there an easier way to handle this process.

Problem executing shell script for rwrun

hi..
I wrote a shell script to make a report similar to the batch file in windows.
My OS is Suse 8.0 with oracle installed in it..
I have the script like this..I used 2 lexical parameters for my rep file.
/opt/oracle/OraHome1/bin/rwrun.sh test techy/techy@simone batch=yes desname=test_3.pdf destype=file desformat=pdf atable=\'\' whereford=\'protokolle.haendlernummer=\'Ludwigsburg\' and\'
This one works fine but the one below doesn't give any output. The pdf fiel is just empty. I wonder y,,may be any problems with the spaces or escape characters.I didn't get any error when executed the scripts.

I solved it by doing the following..
opt/oracle/OraHome1/bin/rwrun.sh test techy/techy@simone batch=yes desname=test_3.pdf destype=file desformat=pdf atable=\\'\\' whereford=\\'\\ protokolle.haendlernummer\\ like\\ \\'L%\\'\\ and\\'
from the Java Program..
Important thing I discoverd is there should be a space at the beginning like whereford=' prot...' and it sok now..
thanx ...but I still has other probelm now..which is to invoke the report from a servlet which executes this shell script..Problem with DISPLAY variable..I cannot run rwrun.sh without DISPLAY variable..
Is there any way to set this variable for tomcat service.
