10.0.6 solved my M-Audio recording issue! Pass it on!

Get the update for Logic Pro X now! I'm a happy chappy again...

This comes up pretty regularly. The most common cause is that there is a folder at the root level of the drive with a name like Private or Video or DCIM or something that makes the application believe it's a camera drive.

  • Audio recording issues

    Hi,
For language teaching purposes, we've developed a flash media
server based app which allows users to record audio. It works well,
but at times (actually often) there is a drop in the audio
recording which can last several seconds. We think it could be a
network issue, as it appears to be more salient in some areas or
campus than others, but we're still within the university network
itself so I'm thinking there might be a setting to change or
something we might not be doing well.
thanks in advance for any help!!
    Emmanuel

Sounds like you're listening to the same source (the X6) being played twice.
Could be you are hearing  MIDI thru playback as well as Logic's "Software Monitoring" you must also be enabling a MIDI track for recording. If you unhook the MIDI connection from the X6 does the hollow sound go away.
What Audio interface are you using? The other possibility is your Audio Interface has "Direct Monitoring" this allows you to monitor the audio inputs before it goes into the computer. Having Logic's Software Monitoring enable along with Direct Monitoring would also produce the hollow sound.
I suggest the thorough reading of the manual so you understand what all the preferences do. Most of the time it is better to read and understand/experiment on your own. It's one thing to be shown something another to figure it out for yourself.
Here's a Link to all of the Preferences/Audio settings.

  • HP Pavillion dv6 notebook audio recording issue! (windows 7, 64bit)

Hello! This is my first post here, as this is my first issue with this computer. My microphones won't pick up any sound- this computer has two different ones, an integrated one and an outer one, and yet neither work. Troubleshooting only picks up whether they're enabled or not, and I've tried recording after enabling them and disabling them, restarting, etc. I've checked with Beats Audio and they're turned on there as well, and the drivers say they are up to date. Yet nothing is working, when I used to voice recognition test it wouldn't even pick up any outside audio.
I should note that the webcam doesn't work as well, because when I bought it, it would disconnect the internal camera often, and when trying to fix it, someone uninstalled the driver or something - though at the time, audio still recorded just fine and I didn't need the webcam.

Hello katrapezo.  I understand you're having some trouble recording audio.
Have you tried recording in another application such as Sound Recorder?
I'd also like you to remove your audio drivers and allow Windows to reinstall them.  Here are the steps.
Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.
Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.
Right click on your sound card and select "Uninstall."
    Reboot your computer.
    Verify whether the problem persists.
Also, what is your notebook's product number?  This document can show you where it is located.
    Have a wonderful day.
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

  • K8N Platinum Audio recording issue

I’m encountering what I believe are on-board sound issues. I wanted to back up and restore several old cassettes and some VHS tapes. Initially I tried the cassettes using the cassette player from my Sony system with an audio cable (R/L cable to single pin”MicIn”); used Acoustica Spin It Again and sound was distorted – played around a bit w/nVidia Mixer to no avail and retired the issue for a while. This week I purchased the VisionTek card referenced in my sig– good TV video and audio reception via RCA cable to card’s “antennae in”; however, when I attached my VHS player via the same RCA “antennae in” on the card, the audio was garbled just as with the cassette recording – video was fine. Both cassette and VHS audio volume is very low, requiring speakers to be max’d – possible source of distortion? Would appreciate any thoughts on either issue but feel they’re both related; puzzling thing is why TV audio has no issues as is using mobo audio as well. “nvmixer” shows codec is: Realtek ALC850 w/capability of “single AC’97; 8 channel”. And driver version = 4.62 (6.14.0462.0). Thanks.

LarryAllen, As well as the various settings in the nVmixer for speaker jacks, sound levels, etc there is also the settings in windows "sound properties" - from the "speaker" icon in the task bar. In the first example that you used [the sony system] I wouls say that it was wrong to go into the "mic" jack - should be in the "line in" jack. The "mic" jack is way more sensitive than a line in so if your output from the "sony" was indeed a line out then it would overwelm the "mic" input leaving you with garbled sound.

  • Bizarre audio recording issue

My iMac has lately been behaving rather strangely in regards to recording or otherwise doing anything meaningful using input audio with concurrent video. When I try to do a video chat in iChat AV, no sound ever makes its way to the person I'm chatting with. Audio chats go off without a hitch however.
Another example...When using my Canopus ADVC110 to import video using iMovie, sound can be heard when previewing/playing the camera source in iMovie. But when I try to record a clip and then play it back, there's no audio at all. Recording audio in GarageBand using the iMac's built-in mic works fine.
Since this is happening using different audio sources, I think it's safe to say it's an issue with the OS. More specifically, it seems to be a problem with my user account on this machine as none of this happens when I log in as a different user.
So does anybody have any ideas on how I can iron this out? Thanks for any help you can provide!!

  • Mac audio recording issue

    Hi,
We have an ActionScript 2.0 recording program that connects to Flash Media Server 2 and records camera and mic input.
On Windows PCs we have no problems. But for videos recorded by some Mac users, the audio seems to drop out for a few seconds at a time, several times during recordings that are about 90 seconds long.
We're trying to work out why this is happening and whether anything can be done. It affects users on the latest version of Flash Player, as well as older versions.
Our ActionScript code sets the mic sample rate to 22kHz.
    Thanks for your time,
    Ajay

We're looking into whether using an external mic as opposed to a built-in one will help. I'll post any useful findings here.
Does any have more concrete info about that?
    Thanks,
    Ajay

  • L305SD-S5874 Audio recording issues to USB Audio Interface

I am hearing snaps and pops recording audio through a USB audio interface attached to my laptop.I am using an external Hard Disk connected to a card buss e sata interface. Audio plays fine but snaps and pops are heard when
recording or even when an input channel is selected but idle.I have the latest drivers installed.People in other forums are saying that these problems  are due to my using a " cheap" laptop with poor IRQ sharing implementation in the chipset. Is anyone using a similar computer this way with no problems ? I have recorded audio for years to much less powered computers with good results.

  • DV7-3080 US Win 7 Audio Recording Issue

This is a Windows 7 64 bit machine, with which I am trying to record streaming audio.  In addition to the Windows Sound Applets in Control Panel, I also have an IDT audio control panel.
When trying to record streaming audio using Nero or MP3MYMP3, the integrated microphones on the computer remain on and I cannot find a way to turn them off.  In addition, the actual streaming audio is not being recorded by either application.
Is this an issue with settings, this particular computer hardware or Windows  support?

  • IPad audio recording issue

I have a speech class where we use our iPads to record and analyze our speech delivery with. My first two recording weren't an issue, but for my most recent one there is no audio - only visual. Any reason why? Suggestions? Nothing was done differently this time around.

Thank you for the response. I tried that and it still doesn't work. I don't understand why an individual recording won't work and the others will. Unless the professor who set up the iPad somehow messed with the setting...I  have no clue.

  • How to solve High Definition Audio Device issue on Vostro 5470

I have a Vostro 5470 and after installing Windows 8.1 Professional, I'm getting the following issue.
"This device cannot start. (Code 10)
    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful."
Does any one have any idea how to fix this? I have downloaded the most recent version of the drive from dell support site, but nothing!

Make sure the Windows Audio Service is running.

I have downloaded the most recent version of the drive from dell support site
You can only get the Realtek audio driver from Dell, not the High Definition Audio Device driver. That one is the Windows native audio driver. To update it you would have to let Windows go online to search for an update from Microsoft.
From your screen shot it appears that both the Realtek audio driver and the Windows native audio driver ("High Definition Audio Device") are both showing. Normally only one would show up in the Device Manager. I would try re-installing Windows and not installing any Realtek driver. Without a Realtek driver Windows will install its native driver and produce audio. If it failed to do that then the error would be due to hardware failure or some kind of problem within Windows.

  • How do I fix bad Quality audio recording in Captivate 4

I am having trouble recording decent quality audio in Captivate 4.
What is happening is after I do the screen and audio recording when I play it back the audio is choppy.
It also kind of sounds like the audio is quickly echoed and then clipped.
Finally this clipping and choppiness seems random when it happens.
I tested this by recording 5 minutes of the demonstration (which recorded with only 1 glitch in the beginning).
When  I just recorded the second half when I played it back in Captivate it  was very choppy again throughout the audio making the complete session  unusable.
I am doing full motion recording of an application at 1024x768. I have tried all audio recording bitrates and have even gone up to 128kbps 16bit mp3.
I am using a high quality Audio-Technica AT2020 USB microphone.
I am running Windows Vista Service pack 2 fully updated with 4GB of memory on an Intel xeon W3503 2.4Ghz in 64 bit mode.
I have installed the latest patch update http://www.adobe.com/support/captivate/downloads.html 4.4.0.1 hoping that it waould solve the audio bugs to no avail.
Please let me know what else I may need to do to get Captivate 4 working like it should.
Are there any other settings or tests I should perform to get audio recording working.
Why would I even want to pay for Captivate 5 if Captivate 4 has worked so randomly for me.
Using 3rd party software like Audacity and even Adobe Soundbooth seems absurd when Captivate has audio recording built in.
For the time being I have gone back to Camtasia on another system because it actually seems to work but need to get Captivate working on my own system.

Try "Rapid Recorder" from store....it works well.

  • Video recording issues (it jumps and the audio sto...

    Dear Support team,
I was very satisfied with my phone for a couple of months but nowadays I've an annoying issue with the video recordings of my Nokia Lumia 920. I've noticed in the past few weeks that there's a "bleep" or a "jump" in each video I take. (Nokia Camera software, Lumia Black, RM-821_eu_hungary_434)
It's very dissapointing because every video is let's say faulty at some point of the video.
For example please take a look at the following video at 0:34 where not just the video "jumps" but the audio recording also stops for a couple of seconds:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD9R2x5Kx4c
The interesting thing is that during the next 21 minutes it did not make any mistakes while recording.
Please take a look at an another example at 3:31:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYQ5vNY-BUw
If you're interested in debugging the issue I can send you somehow (by FTP or so) the original files as well.
I have got more videos which are like this and it was shown like this on the phone's screen as well so I've ruled out the possibility to have an issue while transfering it to my PC.
I'm assuming that possibly there's something wrong with the Lumia 920's RAM memory or with the 32GB internal storage drive, e.g.: let's say bad sector like on hard drives.
The phone recently had it's first freezing while I was reading my facebook the phone suddenly went black and restarted.
I still have 1,5 year warranty on my phone but I've bought ~150 km far away so I hopeI won't need to travel there and wait for weeks and to travel there again to get my phone back! What do you suggest?
Is it possible that it's rather a software issue not a hardware? Or should I return my phone to the retail shop or is there any downloadable software patch to correct this issue? Is this a known issue to you?
I've noticed one more thing: when I'm using my phone for e.g. like 10 minutes it's back cover gets warmer and warmer somewhere around the camera; I thought first it's because of the higher processor and battery usage but I don't think it's normal. The "heat issue" is also present while playing with a game.
Info: my battery lasts for 1,5 day or so by very moderate usage, is it normal? (4 times a day wifi for 5-10 minutes, max. 1 pcs one minute call per day)
Thanks for your help in advance,
    Best Regards

    Hi All,
I'm shocked about this device as you know I was disappointed due to the video recording glitches previously, but what yesterday happened is the worst I could ever imagine: I've recorded 3 videos and from this 3 videos 2 are unplayable even on my phone and on my PC, it gives an error message: "The video failed to play".
The 2 files can't be seen in the camera roll only by using Pocket File Manager.
I was able to copy all files to my computer:
    WP_20140802_21_16_58_Pro.mp4 - 661 203 084 bytes - playable
    WP_20140802_21_22_19_Pro.mp4 - 3939 658 131 bytes - unplayable
    WP_20140802_22_13_59_Pro.mp4 - 3235 991 965 bytes - unplayable
To me these 2 videos are really very important, please help me to recover them! Please tell me, how you want me to send the files as they're, ~4GB each, by using Onedrive or how?
If this issue won't be solved I'm considering NOT TO BUY a Nokia again! Can it be a hardware related issue, e.g. faulty internal flash? Should I return the phone to the retail shop?
    Regards

  • Audio recording lag in Logic w/ Kontrol Rig

I recently tried to record some audio in Logic using my Native Instruments Kontrol Rig as an audio input.  I have done this in the past without issue.  I started a new channel and noticed that my when I was recording a guitar lick into the channel, it sounded completely in sync with the metronome.  However, when I played it back, it was noticeably out of sync without midi clock/ metronome.  I tried enabling and disabling plug in compensation to see if it would solve the problem, and it did not.  I tried recording into new and old tracks, and it did not make a difference; the noticeable audio lag remained.  The audio buffer is set to 64, which is hr same setting that it has been on when it recorded properly.  I have not changed anything that I am aware of since the times when I have recorded without the audio lag issue.  Does anyone have an idea of what might be causing it or how to fix it?

Well, I guess no one else is experiencing this issue,
So, I guess I will just keep y'all informed anyway! =)
I found the power supply to my old Creative E-MU 0404 USB Audio Interface, and I hooked it up and recorded a small track.
It was PERFECTLY in sync.  I have also written in the Native Instruments forum about the issue that I am having, and no one has responded there, either, but it appears that the problem lies with Native Instruments USB drivers in the latest program updates.
I say this because my Creative Audio Interface and my Blue Snowball USB mic are working with minimal latency and audio lag, while the recordings from anything that I own that is both Native Instruments and USB related appears to have a serious audio lag issue, although the monitor sounds perfectly in sync while you are recording.
I wish Apple would press Native Instruments to solve this issue, but I guess they can't do everything. =P

  • Audio recording distortion, phone heating

When recording a video in loud places (like concerts), audio recording is very distorted, simply inaudible. I would like to know if there is a way to control microphone's input level. Also, the phone gets very hot with the simple use of Facebook. Please, solve this problems. I don't know if newer versions of android help. It's a shame that we can't get the incredible potential this phone has.

Try reparing your phone through Sony's software for PC/Mac. Note that this will erase all your data so back-up!
    Good luck.
