Hi JK,
Could any one please share me the documentation steps for this. Its bit urgent. There would be a ReadMe file with patch installer. It has all the patch installtion steps mentioned in it. You should also refer release notes of 10.1.3.5 -

Every PATCH installation fails after installing Windows Updates
Hello,
I want to report an issue which I think is a Windows bug introduced by one of the Windows updates (unfortunately I wasn't able to find out which one of them).
Here is the test case:
1. install a fresh copy of Windows on a test machine
2. install all available Windows Updates (so the system is up to date)
3. create a sample MSI installer which only installs some dummy files (let's say Product Version 1.0.0) and host it on a web server
4. install the MSI from the online location using a command line like this:
msiexec /i http://server/share/package.msi
5. create a .MSP patch (e.g. v1.0.1) which only adds a new file to v1.0.0
6. install the v1.0.1 patch
RESULT: the patch installation fails with the following error message: "The filename , directory name , or volume label syntax is incorrect"
NOTES:
1. the issue was replicated on Windows 7 and 8 machines UP TO DATE
2. the issue is not replicated on a fresh installation of Windows without Updates applied
Is there anyone aware of what could cause this error? Once again the patch installation fails only on Windows machines with the latest Updates installed.
Thx,

Patch installer not overwriting the existing one
Patch installer not overwriting the existing one
Hi, for one my LabVIEW application, I have created two installers
Including all the required additional installers (Installer)
With no additional installer (patch installer)
So that, for further versions they can use only patch installer.
When I try to installer both the installer of same version which created two icons in “Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features” as shown below.
When I am installing the second installer (patch), I expected that it will either overwrite the existing or it will not allow me to install. But both didn’t happen.
Please share your thoughts on the above.
Thanks in advance

Solved!

I got another doubt on the same.
"Upgrade Code" should be same
1.)For both installers (normal and patch)?
2.)For all the versions?
which one is correct in the above two? -

neenaDuring installation, an user casuser is created with certian security settings and if those are modified\removed, DM will not start.
Following message will be seen in /log/syslog.log
Daemon manager anonymous user has not been set up: 00000775
To solve the issue, run resetcasuser.exe located under /setup.support to recreate the settings.
Make sure casuser account is not locked out. Make sure casuser is a member of casusers group and is set to "password never expires".
Additionally you can try to make casuser a member of adiministrators group.

Check the properties of casuser under Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users and make sure it is not disabled or locked out. The only thing checked should be "Password never expires". Change anything required and reset casuser. -
Hi,
I am using SCCM 2007 R3 at client site, Since from Jan 2015 and for Feb 2015 also i am facing a problem in Windows 7 32bit OS Patch installation failure on Client PC. I am creating a bundle for Windows 7 OS Patch's and targeting these monthly patches to
windows 7 Collection having X86 and X64 bit OS.
From All the Deployed Patches only X64 bit Win 7 PC's are getting successfully Update.
BUT on all X86(32Bit) win 7 OS there was Installation Failed Error. The UPDATES are getting successfully downloaded in CACHE folder on client PC's but while installation they are getting failed. I have tried reinstalling SCCM Client on PC but problem persists.
Checked number of forum's and done WUA re-installtion as well, Tried downloading new patches for win7 32 bit and deployed again, but no +ve result. WSUS reconfigured and reinstalled and approved all patches again, again no solution.
Updates for all other OS's Like Win 8, 8.1 Server 2003,2008 and 2012 for X86 and C64 all working fine.
Updateshandler.log Giving :---- Update execution failed.
MP DP and all other roles are working fine with SUP role reinsalled.

Please anyone help..

Rajiv.1. We have tried downloading patch again & again . Try to push them trough SCCM targeting win7 collection having x-86 & x-64 bit OS.
2. Tried manual installation of . Cab files also on 10 win 7 x-86 PC's but all failing with error code.0x800706f7. This code shows The stub received bad data. In both cases (manual & SCCM )
3. Even tried downloading .MSU files for same KB article that also not getting installed
4. Monitored Windowsupdate.log & DISM.log & CBS.log
Handler Fatal: CBS called error with 0x800706f7
warning exit code=0x00000000; call error code=0x80240022
5. Tried renaming windir/Softwaredeployment folder to windir/Softwaredeployment.log & run SFC /Scannow
0x800706F7 -2147023113 RPC_X_Bad_Stub_Data This can occur after a control selfupdate that has not fully completed and requires a reboot. The controls may need to be reregistered.
This seems related to a problem within Windows, and ConfigMgr is not at fault - Windows has a severe issue which is affecting the servicing stack.
Try CheckSUR.

Patch installation EP 6.0 SP9 issues
Hi ,
During the installation of EP which has been installed as follows
-Oracle 9.2.0.6
-SAP Web AS 6.4 SR1 . (Only central instance and the database instance
with no seperate dialog instances)
-EP 6.0 SP9 SR1
-KMC
The SAP note 766765 mentioned in the guide "EP60SP9Install_SR1_v5.pdf"
asks me to install the patch for KMC which later on directs me to
"NW_SP_STACK09_109.pdf" the support package guide for SP09 .
In the section "2 Support Package Stack 09" under the heading "2.1 List
of Required Support Packages" of this guide it gives me a list of support
packages . I have downloaded the required packages for the technical
scenario "SAP enterprise portal" . They are for Web AS , Portal
paltformand KMC and I assume that I have to install all of them . Now I
go to the
section "4.4 SAP Web AS Java" which is on page 62 of the guide .Here
under the section "4.4.2 Preparation" it says the following
" If Portal Platform and Knowledge Management and Collaboration (KMC) are
running on your Web AS Java, apply KMC Patch 2 for SAP NetWeaver '04
Support Package Stack 05 before patching this Web AS Java. For more
information, see SAP Note 772515.
While typically patches are included in the next support package, in this
case you must install Patch 2 for KMC prior to applying the Support
Package Stack to Web AS Java. "
ISSUE 1 : When I check for the SAP note 772515, the service marketplace
says "Note 772515 is not released." Now I am stuck with the
installationas I don't know where to find the KMC Patch 2 and secondly
what relevantinformation I will be missing about this patch( let's say Ifind the
patch myself ) , if I intend to ignore the inexistance of SAP note 772515 .
In the section "4.4.2 Preparation" of the support package stack guide
SP09 under the heading "Windows only" it says in the "Action"
"Make sure that SAP MMC and the Microsoft Service Management Console
are not running."
ISSUE 2 : If this is what I do then I cannot install the patch because
during the intial information capture with SAPINST it validates the
userpwd for the user DDIC . For this it needs to establish the RFC
conectionwhich it cannot , as the MMC is down . Similarily it does for
the J2EE
engine parameters and this will not happen again as the MMC is down .
Now I am not sure if I keep the MMC running and start with the patch
installation , what damage will I cause to the already installed system
I need your help in the above mentioned issues asap as the delay in the
installation will effect the delivery schedule of the project .Hi Deepak,
> I need your help in the above mentioned issues
> asap as the delay in the installation will effect
> the delivery schedule of the project .
If that is so, please open an OSS message to SAP. There is no guaranteed answering time in SDN.

Toshiba Video Player v5.3.49.124_A-patch installation
Hi
I'm trying to install an update to Toshiba Video Player released on February 15th 2015 - version 5.3.49.124_A patch. The problem is, as soon as I try to install it its says that its extracting the file and then an error message appears, "Unable to create file, error 120." Please help in trying to resolve the above error.
Thank You,
InayatHmmmm.... as I can see you don't have original factory settings anymore. In the past I have always installed updates on original OS version and cannot say if Win update is the reason for described issue.
But original player version is still installed on your machine and works properly, right?
I mean if everything is OK I think patch installation is not so necessary. -
SWSE patch installation from 8.1.1 to 8.1.1.3
Hi All,
As part of patch installation I tried to install SWSE. After restarting webserver, siebel application is still showing 8.1.1 current version.
when I check in SWEapp\public\enu folder I didn't find 21219 folder.
Actually our environment setup is enterprise server and one server(we have two servers) in one machine and SWSE and another server is in another machine.
I have followed all combinations, stoping webservers, siebel server and enterprise server and tried to install SWSE patch to show our application to 8.1.1.3. but never 21219 folder is been created?
Please share your solution.
Thanks
SeanHi Sean,
What are the contents of files below?

SWEapp\base.txt
SWEapp\enu.txt
SIEBEL_ROOT\upgrade.txt
SIEBEL_ROOT\upgrade_enu.txt
siebsrvr\enu.txt

Also provide the OS platform and version you are using for Siebel Server and SWEapp.

I'm trying to install the 9.2.0.8 patch on top of my 9.2.0.4 Oracle installation on Fedora 8 OS and I'm not able to get the installer going. After I get the first screen, it displays for the Oracle_HOME screen and when I press next here, I get the following error:
java: xcb_xlib.c:50: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c->xlib.lock' failed.
If anyone was successful in this installation, please let me know what I have to do to get past this error and get a successful installation.More or less similar problem reported in following thread

thanks,If the installer complains about an unsupported platform then most probably you are working on a platform not include in the Supported List.
Is this a redhat based linux? then post the contents of the /etc/redhat-release file.
You could ignore the prerrequisites, but before proceeding provide this information. If this is not a production system there are several workarounds and issues depending on the particular linux distro. If this is a production system, then you will be out of support if you plan to go ahead installing on a non certified platform.

SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET JAVA_POOL_SIZE='150M' SCOPE=spfile;
SQL> SHUTDOWN
C:\> sqlplus /NOLOG
SQL> CONNECT SYS/password AS SYSDBA
SQL> STARTUP NOMOUNT
SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET CLUSTER_DATABASE=FALSE SCOPE=spfile;
SQL> SHUTDOWN
SQL> STARTUP UPGRADE
SQL> SPOOL patch.log
SQL> @ORACLE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin\catupgrd.sql
SQL> SPOOL OFF
Till startup upgrade everything worked, after i made spool on as per the document and then the problem arives
i executed this below statement
SQL> @ORACLE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin\catupgrd.sql
i got SP2-0310: unable to open file "C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\rdbms\admin\catupgr

i went into that path and i checked many files was there but this perticular file was not there.

[email protected]hi virag,
but in the document they have given not to install in new oracle home directory. for ur reference i have added that lines, please help me out. and 1 thing, after i installed 10.2 patch when i type sqlplus it give 10.1.0.2 only, it is not giving 10.2,why is this.
Note:
If you attempt to install this patch set in an Oracle home directory that does not contain an Oracle Database 10g release 10.2.0.1 installation, Oracle Universal Installer displays a warning dialog with the following error:
OUI-10091: There are no patches that need to be applied from the patchset Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Patch Set 1
10.2.0.2.0
The Oracle Universal Installer does not allow the installation to proceed. Click OK, then click Cancel to end the installation.
