10.1.3 complex graphs support...?
Has anyone used 10.1.3 with Oracle Business Intelligence beans.
I need it for complex graphs for dashboard screen (jspx page) but when I try to download BI 10.1.2.2, I come across the following note.
Note that JDeveloper 10.1.3 is currently not supported
There is support for graphs in jdev 10.1.2 by using BI Beans 10.1.2.2 and also graphic capabilities in 11g but …
Why there is not support for the 10.1.3?
Is BI scheduled for release, which supports 10.1.3?
Is any other alternative solution in ADF for the complex graphs?
Thanks
Hi,
There is no Developer Suite release using JDeveloper 10.1.3 which explains why there is ne BIBeans integration. In addition, when implementing the JSF/ADF Faces development environment, the Graph components weren't ready. This will now come in JDeveloper 11.

MBAM 2.0 - Complex PIN support
Hi
Referring to
windowsteamblog I found the following:
Additionally, to protect machines during the pre-boot authentication
process, we’re adding complex PIN support to address situations where
users attempt to set a weak PIN.
How can configure complex PINs (not passwords)? Which PIN code are then no longer allowed?
Thanks!Hi,
Password is necessary when encrypting the hard drive via Bitlocker for security.
As the statement in this blog, some common PIN sequences like 1111, 1234, and others like them can’t be used.

Does dvt:graph support stepped area curve?
Hi,
Does dvt:graph support stepped area charts?
Meanwhile I found following for line charts but nothing similar for area chart:
<dvt:series markerType="MT_STEPPED_LINE"/>

hofespetHi,
ADF DVT graph does not support Stepped area charts, but we do have plans to add them in the future. But for now we only support 2 types of stepped lines: MT_STEPPED_LINE & MT_CENTERED_STEPPED_LINE.
Thanks

Is the digital waveform graph supported in Measurement Studio?
I have an application that could really use the LV-style digital waveform graph in Visual C++. Are there any plans to support the digital graph in Measurement Studio?
Thanks, BobUnfortunately, there is currently not an equivalent of LabVIEW's digital waveform graph in Measuremeht Studio for Visual C++. You can fake some of the features with CNiGraph. If you have Measurement Studio for Visual Basic 6.0 installed, you can see some examples of this in the VB DAQ\Digital\Digital Waveform and Digital Waveform Continuous examples. Also, attached is a sample Visual C++ 6.0 project that demonstrates how you can simulate some digital graph features with CNiGraph. There's also a screenshot attached that shows what this looks like. Hope this helps.

Will Oracle add a Dial Graph Type to the next version of BIBeans? Will the next version of BIBeans coincide with the release of JDeveloper 9.0.5?
We're trying to determine if we need to purchase a third party server side graphing utilitily or wait a couple months for a BIBeans upgrade.
Thanks,
Laith E.H.Is there a way developers could get a beta of the Dial Graph Oracle is going to eventually support?

Help to create complex graphs in oracle 10g reports
As my company has migrated from 6i to Oracle 10g, but as graph ogd files are obselete in Oracle 10g , I am trying to create new graphs in Oracle 10g.
But problem I am facing that I cannot give axis value 'LABEL' or define my own scale or draw any lines on chart or inshort plot graph as I need. Moreover no way to read objects on Chart. In forms 6i it was easy to read object with command "OG_GET_OBJECT(OBJECT_NAME)". Helps tell me to use graph.dtd but I am unable to use it or I don't know how to use it. No documentation available anywhere how to use graph.dtd syntax.
Is it possible to achieve my above goals or any other tools to customize charts.
PrashantHello FormsEleven,
First of all very Thanks for reply. Thanks for your valuable time given to me.
I don't have any error in my java/jinit console infact latest jinit is running and web browser start with message applet are being loaded and Oracle forms service installed successfully. All other forms details are very well displayed on browser form, only bean area remains empty. Following are my formsweb.cfg details. Note on below [bigraph] section I have commented some lines but that also done after my form did not work.

Problems with 3D graph application redistribution
Hello wireworkers,
i wonder if
someone encountered problems with distribution of application that
uses 3D graph objects. I've created application that uses NI 3D graph
component and created installer with "Enable 3D graph support"
check box enabled. However after installing this application on the
windows machine without Labview two problems appeared: 1) "Error
loading control. A newer version needed. The default settings for the
control will be used." and after it 2) "You have 30 days to
evaluate the Measurement Studio ActivX control..." and something
like that. I don't get it. Why some newer version is required? and
what with that evaluation period?
Have any hints???
Thank you in advance and Merry
Christmas to everyone.

Picture processing made easyHi Alex,
I tried the process you described on my machine using LabVIEW 7.1 and could not reproduce the behavior. If you can clarify the version you were using that will be helpful. I will have to clean a test machine and try it again without LabVIEW installed, and get back with you if the problem appears. In the meanwhile, I found the following KB which, while not referring to the exact same problem you are describing, does address the evaluation message issue. You can try to follow the steps at the end of the KB, and let me know if that worked.

Database Adapter: cannot access table with complex record type as columns
Hi all,
I cannot perform any operations on a table that has columns with complex record type.
I have created a table to store purchase order details.
Sample script:
CREATE type XX_CUST_INFO_TYP as object
ssn VARCHAR2(20),
rating NUMBER(15)
CREATE type XX_ITEM_TYP as object
item_name VARCHAR2(20),
unit_price NUMBER(15),
quantity NUMBER(15)
CREATE table XX_PORDER (cust XX_CUST_INFO_TYP, porder XX_ITEM_TYP);
When i try to access the table X_PORDER in jdev through a database Adapter, i receive the error as
"some tables contains columns that are not recognized by the database adpter"
1.) so in this case, how to include such tables that have complex types?
Also, check out this scenario also..
1. add a table through a database adapter
2. drop the table in backend
3. i can still see the table and its structure in the database adapter wizard even after restarting Jdeveloper.. How is it possible?
These are some really interesting scenarios to experiment. Please suggest your ideas on this..
Thanks All!Hi Hem,
for a select you could select against a view. And for inserts you could create a stored procedure. They support complex types since 10.1.2. Complex types support in tables/views was added for 11 (next major release).
You might be able to use PureSQL as a workaround too, i.e.
insert into XX_PORDER values (XX_CUST_INFO_TYP(?,?), XX_ITEM_TYP(?, ?, ?))
As for your other problem, in 10.1.2/10.1.3 the DBAdapter wizard sits on top of the Jdev Offline Tables and TopLink Mapping Workbench components. When you remove a table in the wizard it won't delete the Offline DB component. It was added by the wizard, but afterwards it is public to the entire Jdev project. You must remove it from Jdev yourself. This has been improved for the next major release too, no artifacts from underlying components are created.
To remove it select:
Offline DB Objects -> <schema> -> <table> and try File.. Erase From Disk.
Thanks

Collaboration with AI graphs and charts
Hi I am working with infographics and I want to use FC to move them from print to online. Unfortunately, once I tried to transfer an AI file with a pie chart to Flash Catalyst, it was imported as a bitmap, with no editing possibilities.
I would like to ask: is it possible to work around this and have an editable chart in Flash Catalyst? Do I have to look at Flash charts (like amCharts, for example) and drop them as .swf into my FC file?
Thanks for reading, awaiting suggestionsBill, why not directly giving you a solution -there is alot of work going on in adding charting and graph support for future release of Jdeveloper....of course, that does not stop you using some graphing and charting features now but the new added features make the charting side of things much more drag and drop.

How can I customise graph in Report.
Hello,
I have used additional result to display the array in graph format not in table format.But how can I customise this graph.
Is their any provision for customisation of graph adding axis and multiple line in single graph.
we can choose graph ond table from report option.But can we choose both as per our requirement step wise.Example for step 1 we can use tabel and for step 2 we can chose graph.
thanks ,
Kulwant SinghHi,
Waveform, XY, intensity, digital waveform support multiple x- and y-scales, and all charts support multiple y-scales. Mixed signal graphs support only one x-scale. Use multiple scales on a graph or chart to display multiple plots that do not share a common x- or y-scale.
Complete the following steps to add a scale to a waveform graph or chart.
Right-click the scale of the waveform graph or chart and select Duplicate Scalefrom the shortcut menu.
To move the new scale to the opposite side of the display, right-click the new scale and select Swap Sides from the shortcut menu.
Associate a plot to the new scale by right-clicking the plot in the plot legend and select from the X Scale or Y Scale shortcut menus. If the plot legend is not visible, right-click the graph or chart and select Visible Items»Plot Legend from the shortcut menu.
To change the range of the new scale, use the Operating tool or the Labeling tool to highlight the end value(s) of the scale and enter a new value. If you set the scale manually, you should disable autoscaling.
I did not get the second part of your question, please clarify on that. -
Graphs and Charts in ADF Faces Applications
Has anyone had luck implementing graphs and charts in an ADF Faces application?
I experimented with Oracle's BI Bean control a while back. But I think Oracle has yet to provide support for BI Beans in JDev 10.1.3. Does anyone know what Oracle's plans are for BI Bean support in JDev? Or what Oracle's plans are for providing ADF Faces graph and chart controls? It would make sense to me since Oracle has much experience with graph and chart controls and to their credit has developed over 100 ADF Faces controls which comprise one of the richest JSF implementations available.
I also looked briefly at JFreeChart for which open source is provided at apache.org and I believe someone had even taken a shot at encapsulating JFreeChart into JSF controls and posting the source at apache.org. Has anyone had experience with this?Bill, why not directly giving you a solution -there is alot of work going on in adding charting and graph support for future release of Jdeveloper....of course, that does not stop you using some graphing and charting features now but the new added features make the charting side of things much more drag and drop.

3d Graph shows "Evaluation copy" in distributed executables
After I built a LabVIEW 7.1.1 application using 3D Graph (including 3D Graph support), it worked fine on my machine. On another machine without LabVIEW 7.1.1 installed, there is a popup saying:
Error loading control. A newer version needed. The default settings for the control will be used.
The control itself displays a large Evaluation Copy but it works.
There are other posts reporting similar behavior but nothing that applies to that situation.
My guess is that the ocx installed by the Installer is not the same as the one installed on my machine which may have been updated with recent versions of VISA.
I tried to reinstall the LabVIEW 7.1.1 update but it says that there is a problem with the installed Run-Time Engine.
On development machine: cw3dgrph.ocx is version 8.0.0.212
On the installed machine: cw3dgrph.ocx is version 7.0.0.344
How do I fix thiat?
LabVIEW, C'est LabVIEWJeanPierre,
I hope you're doing well. Just to clarify, this issue only happens when you distribute your application in an installer and run it as an executable on a PC without the LabVIEW development environment? If so, NahoY's comment is very pertinent. This KnowledgeBase discusses some advanced techniques for using Application Builder, which includes building an application with an .ocx file and running a batch file to register it. Let us know if this is helpful!

Unlink x-axis marker values from graph scale
Say there are three points to plot: y-values 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. The x-values are 0, 1 and 2, respectively. How can the x-value marker values be changed to 22, 50 and 100 without rescaling the plot's x-axis?

The LV graphs support linear and log scaling, and they support a linear
transform between the plotted value and the labeled value, but you are
correct, they do not allow arbitrary labeling of the points on the scale.
To work around this, you might look at placing cursors/markers on the
graph. Show the text labels, hide the lines and points, and set the
color however you like for the text. The marker location can be at the
bottom or top of the g
raph, and the text can be your arbitrary values.
Then hide the X Scale.
Another approach is to hide the scale and have an array of strings or
numerics that you overlay. The problem with this approach is that as
fonts change when you change platforms, or MS changes the default font,
your array and graph won't line up. The markers on the graph always will.

Transparency for plots in graphs and charts
In addition or extention to this idea
http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Idea-Exchange/Graphs-and-Charts-with-semi-transparent-fill-option/idi-p/1530960
I would like to have a transparency control/property in the colour selection for plots in graphs and charts.
Bill, why not directly giving you a solution -there is alot of work going on in adding charting and graph support for future release of Jdeveloper....of course, that does not stop you using some graphing and charting features now but the new added features make the charting side of things much more drag and drop.

Sparql endpoint does not recognize named graph
Hi, I created a sem model A, and later added quads into it. while when I searched the named graph using sem_match from sql plus, it worked well, but it did not work using neither java code nor Joseki end point. For example, I simply count the number of triples, the number using sem_match is greater than that using the code. so I guess the code does not recognize the new added quads. Any ideas?
here are the java code:
Oracle oracle = new Oracle(szJdbcURL, szUser, szPasswd);
DataSource ds = DatasetFactory.create();
ModelOracleSem model = ModelOracleSem.createOracleSemModel(oracle, szModelName);
ds.setDefaultModel(model);
String queryString =
" select (count(*) as ?count) from named <http://****> " +
" where {" +
" graph ?g {?s ?p ?o } " +
Query query = QueryFactory.create(queryString) ;
QueryExecution qexec = QueryExecutionFactory.create(query, ds) ;
ResultSet results = qexec.execSelect() ;
ResultSetFormatter.out(System.out, results, query);
So does Joseki end point, do I need to add the named graph into joseki-config.ttl?
Thanks.Hi,
To deal with quads, you need to use DatasetGraphOracleSem class.
You can search for Test11.java in the following document.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e11828/sem_jena.htm
To configure named graph support for Joseki, please take a look at oracle:allGraphs
in Section 7.2 of the above document.
Hope it helps,
