Why do my downloads from websites open as blank windows? Please answer in simple terms as I am not very computer literate.

I find your tone quite unhelpful and high-handed, particularly as I said I wasn't computer literate. I don't really know how to even begin to answer your questions as I don't really understand them.
I am trying to download some personal financial data from a pension company's website and all it says is that I need Adobe Reader in order to view it. I have downloaded Adobe Reader 10.1.4 (as far as I know, successfully, as it appears in the list of Programs in my PC's Control Panel) but when I click on "View" on the pensions website, all I get in return is the opening of a new window which is completely blank.
Is this understandable enough for you?

I'm trying to synchronize all my iPod's (I have as many as 4 iPods: 2 iPod touch a 8 GB each and 2 iPod classic a 160 GB each) with my iTunes software (Version 11.3.1 which is installed on a Windows PC (Windows Vista Home Premium)). Unfortunately, the iTunes software refuses to run the command "synchronize with the iPod connected" regarding each and every iPod I have. iTunes just declares:
Synchronizing is impossible because I wouldn't hold the access authorization / rights for this operation.
I uploaded the songs at issue to my iTunes folder from CD's (all songs are in AAC format now).
What is this access authorization, why was something like that invented and what can I do to get it?
How do I have to proceed in detail?
What would it cost?
I am brand new here and have never ever made a post in any support community anywhere in the world in my life. Well, and I am not excessively knowledgeable about the particular computer or mac language but I know the very basics or can find out about them.
Anyways - can you help me please?

Yes, others have experienced the problem, a simple search of the forums would have revealed that and the simple solution.
Termporarily disable any security software on the computer.

I was installing a driver package...from microsoft corporation when this window showed up.
(some folders cannot be accepted because "skip system and application folders" option enabled}

actually these are drivers for a printer scanner fax copier from brother...but nothing is helping.....
I ran it as an Administrator..but either i get the message above or this error(difx driver package install error=1610154566.the exe's are 295-INST-A.EXE and 375-USB2KXPVISTA-32-A-US.EXE downloaded from Brother site...I don't know.Maybe i shall re install

I use Mozilla firefox on my laptop and for some reason it keeps saying the connection timed out and I'm not connected to the Internet when I am. Why isn't iTunes recognizing my web configuration?

It probably has to do with your security and/or browser configuration.
When my laptop crashed last year and I had to get a new one, I dealt with the same thing. First, go to your control panel and select the security section. See if your firewalls are up or not. If they are, turn them off. If you have any software to speed up your browser, that can affect the connection as well. Go into that software and disble/turn it off. If this doesn't work, contact customer support. They have a few other tricks they had me try that worked, but I can't remember them now.

I have deleted and reinstalled so many times, so i tried the compatibility settings and set it to work for Windows XP(Service Pack 2) with 256 colours. It works, but it messes up all my colours.

Windows 7 upgrade and existing Windows Vista Home Premium license...?

As per Lenovo's scheme, after applying for Windows 7 64 bit upgrade and upon receiving the installer DVD, do I need to compulsorily install it?
Does "upgrade" here really mean that the day when the Windows 7 DVD was issued on my name, my existing Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit license will become Invalid or get expired? Or I can continue using my existing installed Windows Vista on my Laptop and install the received copy of Windows 7 as and when I want or even don't install it on my Laptop, if happy using existing Windows Vista only?

I am still using iTunes Version 7.0.2.16, and due to my failing computer, I am unable to upgrade to a newer iTunes version.
I am about to replace my old computer and the new computers all seem to come with Windows Vista Home Premium.

On Tuesday I turned on my laptop to discover that windows vista home premium had reverted to the old style. I'm using a Toshiba laptop (Satellite). The toolbars are now grey and the circular start logo has been replaced with the old rectangle, the dialogue

I was prompted to install the service pack 2 which I did smoothly but no change and then today I was prompted to install a further 59 updates which I did and after restarting my laptop still no change.
I've ran a virus check and no threats were found. I've also deleted some stuff off my laptop and tried to clear it out but no change.
I'm not very technicallly minded but would really like this fixed. Any suggestions?

You mean the ones like Windows 2000, where windows and dialog boxes have grey backgrounds and dark blue colour in titlebar?
If yes, somehow the Windows theme might have been switched to Windows Classic.
Right-click an empty area on the Desktop > Personalize. Now select Theme under Personalization. In the
Theme Settings window, select "Windows Vista" theme from the dropdown. Click OK to apply the theme.
