10.1 UPDATE VOL CONTROL Ih

prior to update to 10.1 on my wife's Z she could temporarily use the vol button on the side to lower the vol to zero without going to Notifications. After update that function no longer works, while the on screen indicator shows the volum lowering the actual vol level remains as set in Notifications. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or is it a bug that came with 10.1?

It is added functionality. You can now choose to have the volume buttons only affect the media on the device or the notifications.
To have it affect notifications again, go to settings > main volume > and turn off the "always adjust media volume"
Personally I like the fact that the volume buttons can no longer accidentally adjust my ringer volume.
You can simply tap the notifications ICON to toggle between vibrate/silent (whichever is last set) and normal very quickly.

Yes this is what I do, but still receive "Insufficient privileges to write to that location". So I am forced to use normal file system to be able to continue.
After that I run into the current problem saying OMS configuration failed (see details....) and I try:

How many ways can I update a control programmatically???

I'd like to know if there are more possibilities especially when a control is used. we can always right a value into an indicator when an indicator is used.

Ok, so the CLD could be a moving target. I posted these question in an email and now awaiting an answer.
What are the criteria used to grade the CLD exam? What are the specific finding and recommendations used when determining a grade?
In two instances of taking the CLD the graders comments are shown below.
After a comparison of the two cases, here are my comments. “Property nodes and local variable are not to be used”. I’ve posted a question asking what other ways are there to programmatically update a control. “Unnecessary bends in wires are not to be used”. What criteria determine when a wire bend is unnecessary? Should all wires not have bends thus bends in wires are not allowed? “Errors not handled….error terminal on property node not wired”. As I read the exam requirements, I did not come across a case to handle an error in any step. Simply connecting an error terminal and providing a case doesn’t handle errors. I’m almost certain my code in Case2 does not generate programmatic errors. “NOT gate used rather than inverted input where available”. Are you saying NOT gates are not be used, is there some advantage? Maybe I was able reuse duplicate code in Case2 and in one of the cases the NOT gate was appropriate since is read well on a block diagram and the change was effortless.
Case1:
Style: Overly complex solution. Property Nodes used to update values. Unnecessary bends in wires. Error terminals on property nodes unwired. Errors not handled.
Functionality: Application not fully implemented. Logic of implementation is not correct. Boolean latch action is not implemented where necessary.

I have no idea what NI is looking for as far as “Style”. Lets define this and have a point system in place for determining “Style”. What “Style” allocates 15 points in the CLD exam?

Weblogic 10.3.2 Smart Update / Grid Control 11.1.1

I'm implementing a new Grid 11.1 environment on a linux x86_64 platform. I've installed everything including weblogic 10.3.2 with the default options. (required for grid control installation). The problem is.... now I have to patch the 10.3.2 weblogic server.. BUT it doesn't have the smart update utility installed... in other words .. there isn't any BEA_HOME/utils directory. Much less a bsu.sh script to launch the patching process.
Has anyone ran into this before? I am new to weblogic and have never used the product. Thanks

Somehow the installation got split. Part when in the /u01 and the other went in the home path of the user. never had that to happen before. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling to correct the issue. Thanks

Is it possible to update (=change) control block items in a query only form ?

From Form.A we call Form.B with the parameter query_mode = query_only.
This works fine.
But in Form.B we have a non table block (=control block) with an poplist item.
Allthough in query_only mode we like to change (it's not a real update cause it's control block) the poplist.
But because of query_only mode this item is not updateable.
Is there a workaround to make the poplist updateable in query_only mode ?

It is not possible to change the BOX position using the Layout painter like changing windows position.
You have change in the page Windows text elements only by changing their co ordinates.

Update table control dynamically

Dear gurus,
I have created a table control of my internal table "i_main" using Screen Painter's table control wizard. I have made all fields editable via double clicking the field, clicking Program, then Input = Possible.
My i_main table and table control contains the following fields:
hunit TYPE vekp-vpobjkey.
printno TYPE i.
groupno TYPE i.
batch TYPE mseg-charg.
qtyTYPE mseg-menge.
After my program has populated i_main table control, I now want to manually override the contained values in i_main and my table control z_init. When I type in a new value for my quantity column, for example I change 22 to 5. It goes back to 22, and nothing happens.
Any advice on what should I do to update fields of my table control, as well as i_main?

Problem updating a control on one panel based on a value change in another control on a different panel

I am trying to update the value of a control on one panel when the value of another control on a different panel is changed. The two panels are saved in two different .uir files, so there are two associated .h files generated by CVI. The problem is that, inside the callback function for the control that is being modified (Ctrl_Id_A on Panel_A), when I call SetCtrlVal(Panel_B, Ctrl_Id_B, Value); 'Panel_B' and 'Ctrl_Id_B' (which have the same numeric values as Panel_A = 1 and Ctrl_Id_A = 2 in their respective .h files) are being interpreted as Panel_A and Ctrl_Id_A. I never understood how CVI makes this distinction, eg. knowing which of PANEL_A = 1 and PANEL_B = 1 is being referred to, but didn't worry about it since I never needed cross-communication between panels until now. Any help on how to implement this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Purpose
Sets the value of a control to a value you specify.
When you call SetCtrlVal on a list box or a ring control, SetCtrlVal

When you call SetCtrlVal on a text box, SetCtrlVal appends value to the contents of the text box and scrolls the text box to display value. Use ResetTextBox to replace the contents of the text box with value.
Note This function updates the displayed value immediately. Use SetCtrlAttribute with ATTR_CTRL_VAL to set the control value without immediately updating the displayed value. For this reason, SetCtrlAttribute with ATTR_CTRL_VAL is generally faster than SetCtrlVal. However, if the control in which you are setting the value is the active control in the panel, SetCtrlAttribute with ATTR_CTRL_VAL displays the value immediately.

Windows Update from COntrol Panel does not work??

Hello,
regardless if it is common way to do so or not: Does anyone have experience with the "Windows Update" functions in WE8S?
I tried them upon a customers request, and I've seen that I could not get it to complete successfully when choosing the option in
Control Panel. It either hanged during "Downloading..." or at the "Preparing to install..." screen - I waited for many hours. But when I using the "Windows Update"
app from the start screen, updates were installed without any problems (OK, 1 has failed, but the process has completed). Of course, both methods have different look, maybe it is not the
same...
As per Sean Limings' book it is no good idea to update systems in the field this way - shall I remove the functions from the system? What are you doing?

Maybe it was because of the number of updates (in my case there were 85 updates pending). After I succeeded installing via the "Windows Update" app from "Start Menu", there where two more updates, and update now worked when called from
control panel (at least one of them, KB2973201 still stolidly fails to install).

Trying to update Mackie Control Universal - Help?!

Hi all,
I just got hold of a Mackie Control Universal, but for the life of me can't work out how to update it!
I've been having a few issues,not sure how they come about, but during working with the MCU, the settings will all automatically change so that:
1) Panning with V-pots goes all funny - I can only pan channels to -64, 0, and +63.
2) When banking through channels (be it by bank or by individual channel), it just skips straight to the final channels, rather than incrementing by 1 or 8,
3) The jog wheel goes really strange, jumping 400 odd bars with every click.
I found someone else online who had the panning issue, and trashing the preference file solved it. However, given that its hapened twice in the first half an hour of using, I'd rather solve the problem properly!
I'm hoping an update will solve it, but (as from topic subject), I can't work out how!
I've DL the midi file, brought it into my sequencer, booted the Mackie in BootLoader mode, but can't work out how to send the MIDI signal to the desk. I've aselected the output source on the MIDI track to Firewire 410 (the MIDI interface that the Mackie is connected to), but nothing.
If anyone here knows how, a step-by-step guide would be greatly appreciated, as I've spent a good 3 or 4 hours fiddling with this with no luck!

Hey Steve, Heres a link to my fix. In addition to this I seem to remember having to download a free third party midi player. To play the midi file in to the controller. And remember there are two types of files that kinda look the same be sure to download the right one. Also from what to what version are you looking at ?

Since Win8.1 update NVIDIA control panel is not working

Since updating op system to Win 8.1, I am not able to get into the Nvidea control panel. I get a message that no displays are connected. I have got the Nvidea card as my primary source for the monitor.
Help appreciated.

Did you? Did you follow such instruction?
Did you update and install the essential nVidia driver for Win 8.1 which is available on Toshiba driver website?
If not, do that!
