10.10.1 installed but still showing as an available update
Hi All;
I successfully installed OS 10.10.1 on my IMac (and it shows as being installed) however there is another line item that shows an available update for 10.10.1
Anyone know how to get rid of the available update ... that is already installed?

Some things to check: your settings in System Preferences for App Store.
Also, this may be a kluge but check it out:
Go to AppStore via your Menu, look in your Purchases. If you right click on an item you should be able to hide any purchase.
You should have an option "You can unhide this purchase later from the Account page" when you do hide a purchase.

Try resetting the Yahoo password. Yahoo not infrequently has problems.

Update installed but still showing
I have updated my IMac with the latest update for IPhoto. This is showing as installed and the IPhot version has been updated yet the update is still showing as required even though it says it has been installed. Not a major problem but anyone any ideas why this has happened.
One idea...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions. -
I dont have InDesign installed but CC shows I did the update?
I have a huge problem, I'll explain everything step by step before I'll ask my question:
A few months ago I installed CC Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign (just the "testversion") and as I wasnt able to pay the whole thing I tried to delete it, so I save space on my PC. Because I didn't know how to delete it, I just trow it in the trash and deleted it there, so it was removed.
So a bit before Christmas, I needed the programs back, and now as I was able to pay for, I signed in like always and reinstalled CC, but it hasnt worked out, so I asked someone per Chat (an employee via Adobe) about my problem and they helped me perfectly. They said I should go to my folders ex. Photoshop and then click on "remove" or "deinstall" it... It worked out and I could reinstall everything and I bought CC PS.
NOW I have nearly the same problem...
I have to work with InDesign now (and its pretty important!) so I wanted to reinstall the testversion like its marked on my site of adobe. I click on download and than a window shows up like "do you want to open this with Creative Cloud or with another one..." so I click on CC and just the icon of CC opens and its marked "InDesign in updated" but I cant find it to "deinstall" it on my PC, and I cant open it anywhere else... so what should I do now that I can finaly open it?

Hi there, I have installed iTune on my new Toshiba laptop which runs on Win 8. I can update itune on Toshiba laptop, sync but the iphone Apps still showing app to be updated. Restarted both Itune and iphone....reset phone backup....to no avail.....HELP!
I have removed now all bloatware from laptop, CCleaner run and some more stuff: installed Libre Office, Free Avast, Mozilla Firefox - Spotify was preinstalled. And now this is even better - really simple and fast.
I also removed Ethernet completely, as I don't want to be locked at one place. It's not cool to use laptop on divan sofa. So tired after hour of sitting in uncool position. Wifi speed loss is almost 50%. 95 Mbps I get from 100 Mbps at Ethernet and on Wifi in laptop I get at max 50 Mbps. It's only for end this year this way, then I will slow down my connection anyway as for one person and laptop/smartphone it's way too much of speed for 40 €. With 27€ I can get the same 10M/10M and it will be more than enough. Now I have 100M/10M.
I'm also considering about 50M/10M option for 32.90 €, but I will see what I do. I download now test file 10GB and it loads 30-40 Mbps and sometimes even as fast as 50 Mbps. It depends on server also, but ebven on Google, which works on Ethernet at 95 Mbps, it is on Wifi nothing more than 51 Mbps.
It's also 10GB of 1,100 Offlined tracks, I tested it now. So on trips 32GB card should be enough for my phone. I'm going to one soon :) -
my iphoto wont open since i updated my mac, please help? it says i need to install an iphoto library upgrader which I have installed but still cant see my photos.
What version of iPhoto are you using? 9.6 is the current version.
Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

I deleted a contact out of my iPhone 4S but when I go to send a message the contact appears although that individual is no longer in my address book. I deleted all text and call history pertaining to the deleted contact but still shows up. Does anyone have the same issue and how do I fix it?

I installed Adobe dlm add-on and now Firefox will not open. I see the process starting in Task Manager but no window opens. Unistalled Firefox then re-installed but still no luck. HELP ME! I do not want to use IE! I presume it has something to do with Adobe DLM as ever since then it is not working.I had this problem for a couple weeks as well and it was extremely frustrating considering we use firefox for all our company tasks. Here is the solution:
First of all if you have no bookmarks you want to save, then go directly to step 7. If you want to save your bookmarks first, then follow these steps.
1. Shut down the computer
2. Reboot and open firefox
3. Go to Task Manager, right click firefox.exe, and click END PROCESS TREE
4. WAIT 30 SECONDS! Then Double-click the shortcut to try and open firefox again
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 until firefox finally opens (trust me, eventually it will)
6. Once it finally opens, backup your bookmarks,
7. Download a copy of firefox from there website
8. Uninstall from programs menu and make sure to check the box REMOVE ALL COMPONENTS
9. install the new copy and BOOM! it works
If it doesn't work, you're an idiot. If you don't want to reinstall firefox, then you're out of luck. Good Luck! -
I recently Updated my phone and my front camera stopped working its pitch black but still shows the icons on the screen but when i get off the app and get back on and flip the camera to my face view it works fine

You see a closed lens or black screen
If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping the camera swap icon . If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

it's been a while that Im unable to copy music from itunes to my iphone. I updated my device to the latest version of IOS 5.1.1 and made sure no jailbreak is installed but still not working. please assist.
Assuming you are not manually managing your music, verify the following:
You are using the latest version of iTunes
On the summary tab of your iTunes sync settings you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos"
In your music library you have checked all the songs you want to sync to your phone
There are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
You have authorized your computer for all Apple IDs for purchased music you want to sync to your phone (in Store>Authorize this computer)
You have checked "Sync Music" on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings
When everything looks correct, sync your phone. -
I deleted over 200 self taken videos and over 500 pictures in the Moments window in my photo tab. They deleted but still show in my setting in the Setting/About window and I haven't gained any additional storage capacity. What do I do now? Please help! Thanks in advance for any assistance!!!
Check the Recently Deleted album. Deleted photos will reside there for up to 30 days. This allows all those people who accidently delete photos to recover them, something they couldn't do before. To actually free up the space you might have to delete the photos in the Recently Deleted album.

After upgrading to iOS7, I noted my iPhone 5 shows 1.0GB for Mail in the Usage list. I've cleaned out all mailboxes and folders but still show the Mail app as using 1.0 GB. Am I missing something?

In any case, I'm posting this to help others. I can't say with certainty what fixed this for me, but my hunch is that deleting (and then re-adding) the iCloud account on BOTH my iPhone and iPad had something to do with it. Or maybe it was launching/syncing via Mail.app, and/or giving it some time. Or maybe those prayers had something to do with it after all.
The funniest part about all of this is that my whole iPhone backup (with small Camera Roll) takes up 3.6 GB and my whole iPad backup (with even smaller Camera Roll) takes up 1.4 GB... so I'm still right up against that 5 GB quota, and will still end up paying $20/year for the extra 10 GB of space anyway. If only for elbow room, and if only for peace of mind.

I have elements 5 on a vista pc. Elements will not open I receive the message "Attempt to access invalid address". I have re-installed but still receive the same message. Any ideas please.
Make sure your user account has full administrative permissions. Then, at this stage of the game, I would take the following steps:
- Re-create the Preferences file following these instructions:
Re-create the Photoshop Elements preferences file to eliminate problems that a damaged preferences file might cause.
Note: When you use this solution, Photoshop Elements will create a new preferences file and you will lose custom settings associated with your current preferences file. However, the file you rename in step 2 is your original preferences file. If you determine that the preferences file is not causing the problem, then you can restore your custom settings by undoing the instructions below.
To re-create the Photoshop Elements preferences file:
Quit Photoshop Elements.
Locate the Adobe Photoshop Elements preferences files. In Photoshop Elements 5.0, there are two preferences files, one for Organizer and one for Editor:
Users\[ user ]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Organizer\psa.prf
Users\[ user ]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Editor\Photoshop Elements 5 Prefs.psp
Rename the extension for the files (for example, to psa.old).
Start Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements creates a new preferences file.
I doubt that this will fix your problem, however, it is always the first thing to try. If it does not, take these steps:
- Uninstall Photoshop Elements
- Run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301)
- Reinstall Elements
- Reinstall the 5.0.2 patch
