10.10.2 and citrix access agteway (CAG) dual monitors

My mac mini which runs 10.10.2 won't allow dual monitors with the citrix access gateway anymore.  I dam pretty sure it is an Os side problem as my macbook pro which runs off 10.6 is working fine.  Any ideas?

  • Windows 7, Firefox and Citrix Access Gateway

    Hello
I have a PC with Windows 7 Professional (32 bit).
I have web access to a Citrix Access Gateway, and it works mostly fine in IE9. But when I try to access via Firefox 9.0.1 the CAG writes that no Citrix client is installed. If I click Already installed, I can move forward, but then there's a box up asking if I want to open or save Launch.ICA when I try to open a program. Whatever I choose, it will not work.
I have a desktop PC with Windows 7 Home Premium and there are no problems even in Firefox 9.0.1. Same version of Citrix Web plugin installed on both PCs and UAC is completely turned off on both.
If there are more security options than in the Professional Premium - So is there anything I can try to disable the Professional?
I can not immediately see that I can do so much in Firefox.
    sincerely
    Martin

I tried to install the extension IE Tab 2 in Firefox.
It seems to have solved the problem.

  • Bug - Color Management Photoshop 11 and OS X 10.6 Dual Monitors

I need to know if it's just me, or others are seeing this.
Color management doesn't seem to work properly on dual monitors (MBP + Dell 2408) with Photoshop 11/CS4 and 10.6.
Each of my monitors is independently calibrated and all other apps work fine.  For reference Lightroom 2.4/Preview 5.0/FireFox 3.5.2 all render properly across both monitors.  Under 10.5 Preview 4.X did not render properly across two monitors, I was so happy in 10.6 it finally did, but PS is WAY more important so I'm kinda bummed.
Anyway, this seems to only happen on the 2nd monitor.  If I move the menu bar (Prefs/Displays/Arrangement) to the external monitor making it primary monitor then it works for that monitor, but no longer for the laptop display.  Photoshop render images on the 2nd monitor way washed out, but normally on the primary.
Photoshop 11.0.1 worked fine for me on dual monitors under 10.5.

So if you've read the links above regarding the "default monitor" issue, people have suggested that a potential workaround is to go to System Preferences>Displays>Arrangement>drag the menu bar from the first diplay to the second
Essentially you make your secondary monitor the default display.
For me what this does to PS is that it now displays the matching colors to Lr in the secondary display (which is now the default display with the menu bar at the top), BUT! when I drag the PS window back into my MacBook display it appears OVERLY saturated...
Strangely Lr appears the same in both windows, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY with the same colors, saturation, brightness, just as it did before I made my Dell 2405FPW the default display. Basically, Lr hasn't shifted in color from display to display or even from display to display after making the secondary monitor my new default display. It has retained the same integrity of colors through all these changes.
Which begs the question, if Lr can't handle dual displays and always uses the color profile of the display it begins in (starts running in), then why does it never shift in color and still look exactly the same after I've made my Dell 2405FPW my primary display?
And actually, if you look really really carefully, Lr DOES produce a color shift between displays as you drag it from one screen to the next. It's extremely fast and happens pretty much as you get 0.5 to 1 inch of the window into the secondary display. It's subtle on my monitor too, which leads me to believe that it performs this color correction properly, quickly, and seamlessly.
What if, my Photoshop 10.0 (old version of CS3) is not registering and understanding the secondary display's color profile correctly? What if it really is PS's fault because everything else looks right? Maybe the issue I'm having is different from what others are experiencing, after all we're in 10.6 now and most of these issues were reported in 10.4 and 10.5? I should probably upgrade my PS CS3 and see what happens?
jb, what version of PS do you have?

  • Can I run Sage and MS Access either in emulator?

    Hi
I am considering buying my first Macbook. I still need to run MS Access and Sage.
I have been informed that I can dual boot a Mac with Mac OS and Windows 7/8.
I wondered if there was an emulator facility that would also allow me to run Sage and MS Access instead of dual booting.
    Is this possible?

Well, Virtual Box is free, the other 2 are not but have free trials (30 days) available, I use VMWare Fusion 5, not because I think it is superior but because I have used it for a long time and also use VMWare's other products for other tasks (virtualizing Exchange servers). Having said that I have used Parallels and VirtualBox without losing much of anything (or gaining much of anything either), in short they all seem to work well. Make sure to use the latest versions.
    PS:
Use Windows7 Professional for it's superior memory handing and network/remote connectivity.

  • Thinkpad W520 with Minidock+ Series 3 - Dual monitors and USB fail sporadically

    Hello there,
I wonder if anyone has experienced problems ThinkPad W520 and Mini Dock Plus Series 3 (Part number: 433830U)? I run into problems with dual monitor and USB devices.
For dual monitor setup, sometimes only a single monitor is detected, sometimes no monitors are available in the NVidia control panel. Rigorous display detection doesn't help. Disabling Optimus in BIOS doesn't seem to affect it. After I dock and undock couple of times, reboot, unplug the power cord, it seems to resolve and both monitors work fine.
Also, I run into troubles with USB devices (keyboard/mouse). Sometimes they are not detected at all, but if I plug them into different USB ports on the mini dock, they are detected and work fine.
For me this problem happens about 50% of the time when I dock... Any ideas, insights or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Could it be a faulty Thinkpad, docking station or may be both? I really to upgrade next time to W530, but I've been through so many problems with W520, so I don't know if it's a good idea...
    Thanks so much.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If system update isn't finding anything, and the system works just fine on its own, it could potentially be a faulty Dock.
It could be overloaded.  Could you try testing the dock using just one monitor, and no keyboard or mouse, to see if you run into the same issue.  It would still be a faulty dock, but it may be a potential workaround for the time being.

  • Dual monitor and hw accel mutually exclusive (using Awesome WM)

Hi I've been using Arch for some months now and I have laptop (Lenovo x220 with integrated intel graphics) with an occasional dual monitor setup. Things were smooth, but I was having issues with video tearing, so I went trough the intel graphics arch wiki page and I was able to turn on hw acceleration and get rid of the video tearing by putting this in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
        # /etc/X11/xorc.conf.d/20-intel.conf
        Section "Device"
           Identifier  "Intel Graphics"
           Driver      "intel"
           Option      "AccelMethod"  "sna"
           Option      "TearFree"     "true"
        EndSection
The problem is that I add that file I no longer have proper dual monitor with extended desktop, the second monitor kind of mirrors the main one.
kind of, because I can move the pointer between the two monitors and is not duplicated, but the desktop (widows and awesome menu) is duplicated on the second monitor, but I can only interact with the windows using the mouse from the main monitor.
I usually do `$ xrandr --mode 1920x1080 --output HDMI1 --right-of LVDS1` to output to the second monitor, and it was working allright.
I've been trough arch and gentoo wiki looking for dual monitor/xorg config stuff to no avail yet.

    I found a fix in this thread: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-71 … c9ec76f8b8
Adding `i915.semaphores=1` to my boot params allows me to use the TearFree option in xorg config, without X crashing and with a dual monitor setup.

If I use the xf86-video-intel driver from extra, the xrandr command to do dual-outputs fails and I get both monitors showing the same desktop (mirrored mode).  I switched to use AUR's xf86-video-intel-git (reading the forums it said this would fix the dual-monitor issue until extra moves to 2.12.0-2) and I do get the dual monitors working propery with the xrandr command, but I'm experiencing wierd effects.  For every unminimized window on the desktop, if I put another window in front, the shadow of the window below stays on top of the window containing the focus.  Hard to explain, so I'll use a photo:
That's what it looks like with xf89-video-intel-git, libdrm-git, dri-git, and anything else git and intel graphics related I can find.  Any ideas what's wrong, or what I would even call this problem so I can look around and see if anyone else is having the same issues?

Ok, I went into the XFCE4 setting manager and opened the "Window Manager Tweaks" module, Under "Compositor" if I disable display compositing the shadowing effect is gone, making the display much more usable (thanks!).  But now compositing does not work.  Guess I'll go report this to XFCE, or is the XFCE compositing manager handled by someone else?

  • M93p dual monitor problems; monitor turns off and cannot be turned on again

    Hi,
we have multiple M93p tiny computers causing problems in dual monitor setup (VGA / Displayport->DVI). Our users (already >5)  keep telling us, they leave their workplace, return, then DVI attached monitor if off and they do not find a way to turn it on. This is true; the only workaround that has been found by our users is to bring Win7/32bit into standby mode and awaking it again.
Needless to say, we turned all windows energy saving options off (computer standby/hibernate, monitor turn off). Still the problem appears.
Maybe there is something wrong with DVI power/DVI signal?
    - Monitor independent, as far as I can see
    - Independent from Windows energy saving modes
    - BIOS updates did not help
[todo]: Try Intel/(AMD?) drivers, let users test.
I haven't seen exactly when the monitor turns off because it is reported by users. I had a testing machine, but was not able to reproduce.
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/A-M-and-Edge-Series-ThinkCentre/Dual-monitors-problem-VGA-and-Displaypor... is related.
    Anyone?
    Thx

  • Virtual PC and Citrix web access

    Hello!
I have a PowerBook G4 running OS X Tiger. For work, I have to access my company's Citrix web site when I am not in the office physically so I can use some mainframe based applications. I'd prefer not to buy an additional PC laptop just for the web Citrix access.
I researched on the web and found that Virtual PC 7.0 for Windows XP Professional seems to be the solution, but I didn't find anything about using Virtual PC to access a web site that has the Citrix (I think it uses Metaframe) portal to launch company email, office apps, and mainframe access.
I have not purchase Virtual PC 7.0 yet - I am in my research stage where I'd like to know "what I am getting into". Requesting Citrix server IP address for a direct sign-on is not an option for me even if I use Virtual PC 7.0. Does anyone either have experience with similar Citrix access situations via Web or can anyone point me to some other resources website that may help me?
    Thanks!
    Angela

    Hi Angela!
A Citrix client for Mac OS X is also available. Using this may be easier than trying to install and configure Virtual PC and then installing and configuring the Citrix client for Windows.
Your Citrix support folks should be able to tell you what settings you need to connect and log in but they may only support you as far as Windows. You'd need to use the admin guide (found at the same link above) to configure your Mac client.
    Hope this helps! bill

  • EP6 and Citrix

We want to expose our portal to the internet using the Citrix Access Gateway as an authentication tool.  We are having problems with this, we think due to URL re-writing.
Has anyone managed to implement a similar model or have any advice as to how we might achieve this?
    Thanks
    Colin

    Stuart,
single sigon-on from the user's local windows to the citrix desktop should be a standard citrix feature and can be realized.
For SSO from the citrix desktop to the portal, this also works fine, as the portal won't see a difference between a user calling his browser from the local workstation and from calling it through citrix. In both cases you can follow the guidelines listed in the portal's security geuide (check service.sap.com/securityguide) for this.

    Dominik

  • Acrobat Licensing and Citrix

Does anyone know if you are required to purchase a license for both the desktop and Citrix if you are accessing Adobe Acrobat by both methods?

Per the Adobe EULA, you are allowed to install and activate the software on up to two computers, virtual or physical...
There's also a special item on that page about Deploying Adobe Acrobat X products on Citrix.
