10.10.2 and wifi issues

I have held off updating one of my Macs to Yosemite because of the wifi issues.  Anyone upgrade to 10.10.2 who had issues and found update resolved them.  Apple said 10.10.1 would but we know it did not.  So want to know real world results for this one before I update.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Airport 802.11g and WIFI issues with Apple bluetooth keyboard

Hey guys, this thing start to drive me crazy, I bought a Apple BT keyboard but just recently I started to having problems with my wifi connection and apparently I think this is due to the BT keys.
I started to notice this issue when I moving with the laptop in another room where usually I had maximum Airport signal, now it's happening that the signal start to lose power and when is just to the minimum, internet or other net staff don't work anymore and after 5 minutes of this apparently "freeze" wifi status, the airport loose definitely the signal.
After that I need to turn off the Airport card, most of the time work but sometimes i need to turn off two times to get it works.
After I read different blogs and forum, I tried to change channel, use the interference robustness, anything, and at the ending I reinstalled Leo, still have this problem, so I started to turn off the bluetooth connection and it look's like when the signal start to lose power the network keep working, and than reprise the maximum power.
So I can really fix this issue or is another "well done" by Apple? It look's like the Apple industry getting so close to the trash world! I'm sorry for these last words but my disappointed in Apple getting bigger.
    Thank you for anyone helps.
P.S. a friend of mine with a Macbook Pro, Snow Leopard and my same Airport Base station have the same issue.

GuyI just fixed for now the problem turning off the bluetooth keyboard when I have wifi issues, it's the only solutions!

  • Yosemite and Wifi issues

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012) 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3  251GB Flash storage; Apple Thunderbolt display, apple BT keyboard and trackpad. OS 10.10
Upgraded to Yosemite beta; wifi was fine; installed latest update and wifi became useless.  Tried all fixes on thread; finally gave up. unplugged my laptop from the Thunderbolt display and am using as laptop without bluetooth mouse and keyboard.  Wifi works only when using built in key board and mouse.  Probably a Bluetooth issue.  Very very frustrating as cannot use display without track pad and bluetooth trackpad effectively.

I installed the Beta and after several days, the problem seems to have gone away. I use bluetooth keyboard, but hooked up old corded mouse, so only one BT device (don't have an old corded keyboard)
Steve Jobs, please come back from the dead and get Apple back to quality control, "It just works" died with you.

  • Maverick and wifi issues

Is anyone aware of any particular or specific issues with Maverick and losing connection intermittently with access points / wifi?  See link
    http://howtoapple.com/mavericks-wifi-issues-fix/
We are experiencing this to some degree with our MACs primarily on Maverick.

    Hello RT91,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with connecting to your home network using an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi on your MacBook Pro.  I would be concerned about this too.  I found a couple of articles I recommend for this issue.
First, I recommend reviewing this article:
Mac OS X: Troubleshooting a cable modem, DSL, or LAN Internet connection
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1317
This second article has some additional steps specific to troubleshooting Wi-Fi connections.  I recommend the full article, but the section titled "Symptom: My Mac does not connect to the Internet" stands out to me for the issue you described:

  • Ipad 2 and wifi issues

    Hi,
I'm a newbie in this apple forum.  I had Ipad 2 since spring of 2011 and it worked great until I updated to os 5.1.1.  My wifi reception was horrible after the upgrade, to a point that I could not connect at all to free wifi at public areas such as libraries, starbucks, etc.  I tried to hard reset, turn off blue tooth, turn off auto brightness, reset the network setting to no avail.  It was not the router (FioS) since my Ipad 3 and other devices were working fine.
I finally brought it to apple store to be checked out.  He did see that my wifi was poor, even inside the apple store.  It went intermittenly from 2 bars to 1 bar to no connection in minutes while my Ipad 3 was steady at 3 bars for the whole time we were in the store.  He thought that maybe something went wrong during the os upgrade and suggested to factory reset and reinstall the os at the store.  After the reinstall nothing was changed.  The wifi reception was still poor and he did not know what else to do.  He was sure that it's not the software and perhaps the problem was due to hardware issue.  The problem is Apple can't fix any thing hardware related after the warranty expires.  I can't send it for repair and the only thing Apple can do is to take my old one, fix it, sell it as a refurb and allow me to buy a new ipad 2 for $250.  Apple might call that process a value chain efficiency, but as a consumer, I call it a ripoff!!!
To top it off, I can't sync my wife's yahoo calendars and remaindes at home.  So frustrating.

    Look at last link.
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

If any of the above solutions work, please post back what solved your problem. It will help others with the same problem.

  • Iphone 6 LTE AND WIFI ISSUE

me and my friend both using iphone 6 but his LTE AND WIFI works smoothly But mine doesn work that well! watching the same video using LTE he can watch but i cant even load the video! WHY? any help?
AT first i was on iso 8  LTE AND WIFI really *** , so i upgraded it to ios 8.0.2  but still the same, and my friend's iphone6 stays in 8 but works fine !
i have reset the network it doesn fix the problem either.

I have this exact same issue with the iPhone 6 Plus. After numerous calls to AppleCare several resets and restore restores from backup, restore as new, and visits to the Genius Bar at the Apple store, Apple dose not appear to have an answer yet. This is happening on all Wi-Fi networks home, Xfinity, Apple Store, and Starbucks. It does not appear to be related to the Wi-Fi network in use. I have been asked to give it a week and see if it gets better but somehow I do not think this is going to work. The Apple Store has even replace my phone and I still experience the same issues.
    What am I missing?

  • Ideapad Yoga 13 bluetooth and wifi issue

My IdeaPad Yoga 13 has a problem with playing music via bluetooth A2DP profile. Audio plays well and without hiccups when I'm not downloading anything from the internet with high speeds but if I download something music playback starts to crackle and break. That is very annoying and I'm wondering why high wifi bandwidth would cause this kind of problem for bluetooth. If I've understood right, bluetooth and wifi modules reside on the same wireless card on Yoga but still, shouldn't they be separate in a way that they wouldn't be able to affect each other's performance? I'm using Nokia MD-310 Wireless Receiver with my Yoga.
My second problem is about the same wireless card, too. My wifi works otherwise well and I haven't had any speed problems with it (unlike many others on this forum) but after a few weeks of using my Yoga it started to have problems with reconnecting to my wifi after waking up from sleep. It doesn't find any wifis unless I run the wireless troubleshoot which resets the wireless card.
I've tried reinstalling the driver and setting windows 8 power management settings to maximum performance but nothing seems to solve these two problems.
Does anyone have solution for these?

I forgot to mention I used a fresh pair of batteries for the mouse (rules out simple solutions).

  • 10.6.5 and wifi issues

Since I upgraded to 10.6.5, my MacBook Pro (Early 2006) cannot connect to my USR9110 (802.11 g) access point.
From 10.6 on, there's been always troubles when resuming after sleep, but now even at startup the connection goes timeout.
All other devices (an iPhone,an iPad and a MacBook Pro (Late 2006) with 10.5) work perfectly.
I tried rebooting, changing  the wifi channel, updating the access point firmware, turning on and off airport, resetting the SMC, switching to WEP, switching to WPA, switching to unencrypted. Nothing changes, connection timeout.

Having the same problems here. Airport drops connection randomly. Tried reconfiguring connection settings, re-adding airport to network settings, resetting SMC, rebooting cable modem and wifi router, changing airport connection channel, security settings, network name, rebooting mac several times. Have tried two different routers. Router A: 1st gen Time Capsule 500gb (20ft away), started with a spotty connection almost immediately after updating to 10.6.5, and now when attempting to connect with TC network name will not even show under airport. Like it's gotten worse. Router B: super old Dlink (5 ft away), freshly reset, was spotty earlier today, and now seems to have held a connection for a record 22 minutes.
So, I am really confused. Anyone having these problems try something I haven't? Please post. Iv'e run out of ideas aside from tethering my iphone or saying goodbye to my TC and security encryptions.

  • Email and WiFi issues

Hello, hoping someone can give me a hand with a couple issues with the Z10 I'm having.
First thing, when an email is sent from the Z10 it is getting time stamped 6 hours ahead of time(I am CST -6 timezone), I did read about this problem on the crackberry forums so sounds like it's already been brought up to blackberry's attention.
Another problem with email that I've noticed is I added my work email to the device, then I deleted it and added a different work email account from the same domain.  I am now receiving emails from both accounts still even though the first one was deleted, those emails are still showing up in the hub even after restarting the device.
And there seems to be an issue with the WiFi when I am connected to the WiFi I can't go online with the phone.  Even if there is a problem connecting to the internet through the WiFi, shouldn't the device be able to just automatically start using the service providers network instead of giving the user an error?
So if anyone has any ideas of what I can do about the emails or WiFi, let me know and I'll give it a try and post my results.
    Thank you,
    Kevin.

    Hey Kevin,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To better assist you with these issues I have a few questions:
What type of email account do you have set up on your BlackBerry with the time stamp issue?
When you go into the hub do you still see the email address listed for the email account you deleted from your accounts?
Do you use BlackBerry Enterprise service?
In regards to your Wi-Fi issue, try checking the Wi-Fi Diagnostic Information:
    1. Go to Setting
    2. Select Network Connections
    3. Select Wi-Fi
    4. Select Advanced
    Thanks.

  • Rogers Modem and Wifi Issues

I am currently running 6.1.2. I have tried everything and I am still having issues with my iPhone 5 connecting to my home wifi. It will connect for a while and then disconnect. It must be a software issue as all my other wifi devices have full signal and never get kicked of my wifi. I have tried everything. I am certain that it isn't my router and is not a hardware issue due to the fact that my phone never kicks me off other wireless networks. Any ideas what to do? I have reset everything including the iPhone and router! I have full signal when I am close to the Hiltron Modem, soon as I move away the signal gets weaker.  I am on my second iPhone 5 and I am having the same issue. My wifes 4s is geat and she has full signal throughout the house. Any ideas?

I am certain that it isn't my router and is not a hardware issue due to the fact that my phone never kicks me off other wireless networks.
If you don't have this problem with any other wi-fi network your iPhone connects with, more than likely the problem isn't with your iPhone. If with your iPhone, you would have the same problem with every wi-fi network your iPhone connects with.
Have you tried all troubleshooting steps included with this link?

  • Flex 14, Bluetooth and Wifi Issues

I bought a Flex 14 from the Lenovo store website a month ago, and I seem to be having problems with my wireless adapter. I can't remember if it is because of the update to 8.1 since I updated my laptop to 8.1 on the day that I received my laptop. No matter how far away I am to the router, my wifi would disconnect. It would disconnect for around 30-60 seconds and happens very often, which is kind of annoying. Other laptops in my house don't experience this kind of issue, so it can't be my wireless router or internet service provider. Bluetooth seems to have issues as well. I bought a bluetooth mouse for my laptop around 2 weeks ago and it disconnects just like my wifi. I've tested the mouse with my phone for a full hour and I did not encounter any problems, so I concluded that it must be my wireless adapter that has a problem.
I've tried updating all the drivers from Lenovo support page, but that didn't fix it. So, I tried getting the drivers from Intel, since my adapter is the Intel Wireless-N 7260. That also did not work.
Any ideas? I would really appreciate any sort of help right now.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I bought Lenovo Flex 14 last month and from day 1 it is showing issues with its wifi. It gets disconnected from my network automatically and sometimes it does not detect even a single network. While at the same time my other devices connected to the same network functions well.
I called customer support and they tried to fix the problem by changing performance and roaming related solutions as has also been pointed out in the earlier replies. Even in spite of all these efforts nothing has worked till date. I either have to restart or have to put my laptop in airplane mode for few seconds and than try to connect (A trick which works for me at times !! )
Is there any solution which anyone can suggest ? Is this a hardware problem or a software problem ? Please help !!

  • 4.2.1 and wifi issues

After installing this update my iphone will not connect to wifi. It has to be right next to the router or it will not see it. Even then it still loses it's connection. My other iphone in the house has not recieved this update and still works fine. Along with all of the other wireless equipment I have. My iphone won't connect to any other wifi networks either now. It is all since I applied this update. Is this a known issue with this update and does any one know if it will be fixed.

It is not a known problem, as I don't have it. A few people have reported it, but not enough to make it a general problem with the release. And indeed, it is one of several problems that have been reported after every update. There are some simple diagnostic steps you can take to try to fix it:
    1. Go to Settings/General/Reset, Reset Network Settings. Then reboot (hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple log appears).
    2. If it sees the network but doesn't connect, go to Settings/WiFi, tap on the ">" to the right of the network name and tap Forget This Network. Then exit settings, go back into Settings/WiFi and connect again.
    3. Reboot your router. Turn it off for about 15 seconds, then turn it back on.
    4. See this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559

  • 2009 MBP: freezing and wifi issues

My mid-2009 Macbook Pro (A1286) has been acting flaky. Sometimes the wifi gets turned off when I close it, and I can't turn it back on even in the Network control panel--only restarting it  turns it back on. Also I've been getting frequent hard freezes, where everything locks up (no beach ball or anything) and I have to hold the power key down to restart.
I'm running 10.7.3 with 4GB ram. I've tried safe boot, starting from disc and running disk utilitites, running DiskWarrior, repairing permissions. For the wifi problem I've tried unchecking remember open windows, and I've tried moving the active wifi to the top in sys prefs.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software – potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions – they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are several lines of text in monospaced type, which are UNIX shell commands. They’re harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of running these commands, search this site for other discussions in which they’ve been used without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
To begin, launch the Terminal application; e.g., by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search. A text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” (without the quotes) and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag – do not type – the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.)
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
Important: If you synchronize with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item'
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer – no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • Battery and WiFi issues after upgrade to 1.1.1?

Since my upgrade to 1.1.1, my iPhone has had HORRIBLE battery life. I charged it all night last night and it is only almost noon, and I have not used it much at all, and it is already DEAD. It forced shutdown just now.
Another issue that I have been having is the phones lack of ability to find any wireless networks without first rebooting the phone.
I have done a full restore on the phone as well as a restore without restoring from backup, and the results have been the same.
Has anyone else had these issues?
