10.2.0.1 client installation failed because of operating system version

Hi Guys,
When i tried to install oracle client 10.2.0.1 I encountered an error saying that the operating system must be redhat-3, SuSE-9, redhat-4, UnitedLinux-1.0, asianux-1 or asianux-2. I'm using RHEL 5, are there any ways to install 10.2.0.x client in this red hat linux version?
Failed prerequisite:
Checking operating system version: must be redhat-3, SuSE-9, redhat-4, UnitedLinux-1.0, asianux-1 or asianux-2
Failed <<<<
Also do oracle have base client installer 10.2.0.[3 and up] for RHEL 5 operating system?
Thanks!

Hi,
10.2.0.1 is not certified for RHEL 5
use
$ ./runinstaller –ignoreSysPrereqs
This is required because Oracle 10.2 expects OS to be RHEL 3 or RHEL/OEL 4.
Kindly refer note
Requirements For Installing Oracle10gR2 On RHEL 5/OEL 5 (x86_64) (Doc ID 421308.1)

  • OS X installation failed because a recovery system can't be created

    Hi everyone,
    I am running Mac OS X 10.7.4. My macbook is 2.7Ghz Intel Core i7 and has 4GB 1333 Mhz DDR3. I recently bought Mountain Lion from mac appstore and I just cant seem to install it. Everytime I run the installer, it takes 3 minutes and then restarts the macbook and then the installation process starts. When the time remaining reaches about 30 minutes, the following error shows up. I have tried installing it atleast 5-6 times and it doesnt work. Also, i dont have a recovery partition, I dont know why its not there. Pls find the screenshot of my disk utility as well.
    I have tried following methods and it still doesnt work:-
    Created a 10GB partion and tried running the installer again. Didnt work. Deleted this partition and tried again, didnt work.
    Created a 5GB partion. Error still comes.Didnt work. Deleted it. Didnt work.
    Created a 2GB partion. Error still comes.Didnt work. Deleted it and still didnt work.
    Created a 2GB partion and a 5GB partion and named the 5GB one 'Recovery'. Tried again. Didnt work. Deleted the 2GB one and tried again. Didnot work. Then deleted 5GB one and still didnt work.
    I thought ill just install a fresh copy, and put in Mac OX 10.5.6 install CD in it (the one it came with) and tried to install the OSX again. After restart a gray windows comes up with some error stuff written on it and it wouldnt let me install this. It says press power button to restart. So, this didnt work either. (I can give you the screenshot, if you need it)
    While rebooting, I pressed Command + R, and went on to internet recovery mode. It took about 4 hours and then it started installing mountain lion onto my sytem and again it failed. Same error as in picture 1.
    I have tried everything and it just doesnt work. I am really fedup. Please tell me how can I resolve this issue.

    Finally, I found the solution.
    I used the default installtion DVD that came with the macbook and booted it. From there, I went to the disk partition and formated the entire partition. Just to be extra safe, I zeroed out all the data (but you dont have to do this). After that, I installed the OS X that was on the setup CD i.e. Snow Leopard. After installing snow leapord, I updated and ran the mountain lion installer again. This time, it worked fine. Also, a recovery partition also got created automatically. So, if youve tried everything and failed, reformat everything and install it again. Works for sure.

  • Add-on installation failed because another version is already installed

    when desinstaler addon, and soon trying to install he himself addon but with a superior version, does not leave. Since it says that it must be a later version, when it is it. There is some site where cleans the registry of addones installed?
    the message is : "Add-on Ficheros de banco: Add-on installation failed because another version is already installed. Ensure that the version number is higher than the version previously installed."

    The best way is to go in Addon-Project Development and in its Bin directory change its exe name.  for example it its exe name is abc.exe then change it to abc1_0.exe
    It will work properly.

    The above suggestions did not resolve issue in my case;
    I did the below to resolve this after lot of research and same worked for me in 3 servers;
    1)
    Disable UAC  by Disabling the setting "User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode", under Computer

    2)
    Remove all existing installed  features of dotnet 3.5 and reboot the server
    3)
    Install Windows Process activation service using add features and reboot the server
    4)      NowInstalled Web(IIS)

  • Create Client Installer Failing

    I have a brand new Mac Mini running Apple Remote Desktop 3.5.1 on Lion 10.7.3 that I am trying to create a custom client installer and right at the end it fails every single time. Saying that "An unexpected error has occured while creating a custom installer. Please try again"
    Anyone else getting this issue? at all

    Custom Installer Issues with 3.5.2 Client and 3.5.1 Admin
    Do you have a computer that is pre ARD client update 3.5.2? if so, you could try making your installer with ARD on that client. And you could report the issue.
    And you can always send Feedback about ARD to Apple.
    In thread Can't install Apple Remote Desktop 3.5.1 custom installer on Lion 10.7.3, Eric Shaheen suggested looking in //private/tmp/RemoteDesktopClientInstaller/ to see if ARD actually did create the installer; and if so, to copy it to the desktop. in the same thread gavin0001 said he was able to modify the 3.5.2 client update to make a custom installer.
    You might also want to check out thread I can't get Custom Installer to create accounts on Lion.  I'm using ARD 3.5.1.

    I think the installer finds some remenance of the old SMS_MP. When looking i found some remains in IIS . I tried to remove the remains but still have the same error when installing the client. I uninstalled IIS completly. Can someone tell me where the client

  • Installation fail because of Mozilla

    Hi !
    I'm trying to install a program client from my university website (http://www.interufr.dauphine.fr/citrix.html) but the installation fail with this error message : "Le programme d'installation ne dispose pas des privilèges nécéssaires pour accéder au répertoire C:\Programme Files(x86)\Mozilla Firefox\Plugins. Impossible de poursuivre l'installation. Ouvrez une session en tant qu'administrateur."
    (The installer doesn't have the necessary privileges to access the directory C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Mozilla Firefox \ plugins. Unable to continue the installation. Log on as an administrator).
    But the problem is that I just have one account in my computer, and I'm the administrator.
    I try to create myself the "Plugins" folder, and then the installation can continue but fail at the next step, and that's the last error message that I can't solve :
    An error occurred while writing the file C:\Programme Files(x86)\Mozilla Firefox\Plugins\resource\en\ctxlogUI.dll. verify that you have access to that directory

    The plugins folder in the Firefox program folder is no longer used, so Firefox won't find plugins that are copied to this folder.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/windows-media-or-other-plugins-stopped-working
    So even if you succeed to install the plugin when you run the Citrix installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator) then you would still have to move the plugin manually to the "browser\plugins" folder.

    Now, firewalls on both DP01 and DP02 servers are disabled, as are the domain firewalls on both SCCM00 and SCCM02 servers.
    I CAN open IE and go to HTTPS://SCCM02.web.Skynet.com:443/CCM_Client and download the files, this works on both DP01 and DP02.  So the server does have access, I can also use SMB to browse to the SCCM installation path on the SCCM server from both DP01/02.
    Certs on both SCCM servers and DP01/02 servers are valid and not expired.
    Boundary groups are setup for the servers.
    Other servers and Windows OS boxes have had no issues with client installs or DP role installs, its just these two.
    I've restarted both DP and SCCM servers and still get the same error.
    Pinging SCCM servers from DP servers has the correct IP's and times less than 120ms.
    I know the HTTPS 403 error is Access is Denied, but I can browse to the site with no problems...

  • Pushing client installation failed to some boundaries whereas successfully installed in some boundaries

    Hi
    I have a SCCM 2012 RTM installed in my network and before it was working fine and successfully installed clients by Client push method
    Now I added another forest and successfully discovered all computers in the second forest able push client and successfully installed
    Now my problem is , all client computer's in the first forest activity showing "active" and recieves updates from server without any issue. But I could not push the client installation to new computers on the first forest (active directory). While
    monitor the ccmsetup.log file on each new computer the installation get stuck on BITS download
    I am not saying , this is server configuration problem because when I push the client installation to the computers on second forest, the package downloaded successfully and client and SCEP installed successfully
    I checked and double checked the boundary settings and DP and it was exactly same as the second boundary
    I removed the boundary, boundary group and site system for the problematic computers and recreated everything as it is
    But no luck still I am recieving the same status on the ccmsetup.log
    please help me because I have been  playing with this issue for the last one week

    Dear Mr Jason,
    I have prepared a new laptop with windows 7 and SP1 and joined to domain
    In sccm server manually run the AD system Discovery and after a while the new computer appeared on the corresponding collection
    I initiated the client pushing on 6.00 PM evening and leave the laptop online (turned off computer sleep settings)
    Today morning when I checked only 4 files in c:\Windows\ccmsetup folder and I checked the log.
    Later I ran the same command
    \\SCCMSERVER\XXX_Package\Client\ccmsetup.exe  SMSSITECODE=XXX
    SMSSLP=SCCMSERVER
    Then
    client and SCEP installed successfully within 20 minutes
    How
    can I find which policy or which settings block the client pushing? Do I need to check any other log file in server ?
    Thanks

    That was a long shot, as am sure there is a proper way to get the source files in the share, but it didnt create the share on setup of System Manager.  Did I miss a step?  How do i get it to populate the share with the client install files, or

    Managed to set MP to HTTP, thank you that was what was causing that issue, but now its coming up with a different issue

    I found a pretty simple solution to this problem.  If you just run the Lync.msi rather than the OCSetupLauncher.exe it seemed to fix my issue.
    However, before you can run the Lync.msi you must add a registry entry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator
    DWORD -> UseMSIForLyncInstallation
    -> set = 1

  • HT1926 Installation fails because Apple Mobile Device Service failed to start?

    When  I attempted to update ITunes, it failed at the starting services point because "Apple Mobile Device Service failed to start".  The ignore button would not work.  Retry did not fix it.  I have deleted all ITunes from my computer, restarted, and attempted a new install.  Same problem.  Help.

    The frequently suggested repair steps listed in comments at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926 did not work for me yesterday when I attempted for an entire day to fix this commonly reported problem with the newest iTunes update. I now realize that I overlooked one step listed in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
    My computer has a Windows 64 bit operating system. I should have  paid attention to this instruction:
    "If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll need to confirm that the following folders have been removed:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\  "
    Tonight, I removed those previous version files from the Program Files (x86) directory and executed the rest of the steps listed. Success resulted. If you are struggling like I did to install the iTunes newest update on a Windows 64 bit operating system, you might benefit to recheck that you followed the instruction listed above.
