Hi,
As per (Note: 949406.1 - Oracle E-Business Suite Readme, Release 12.1.2):
*** Refer to (Note: 761570.1 - Database Preparation Guidelines for an E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Upgrade) to ensure that all patches for your specific database release are applied on the environment, before upgrading to Release 12.1.2.
So, it is supported but you need to consider applying the patches on your 10.2.0.3 database, under "Path D: Upgrade Path for Systems with 11.5.9 CU2 or 11.5.10.2 with a 10.2.0.3 or 10.2.0.4 Database" section.
You could also refer to the certification matrix in My Oracle Support to confirm this.
Thanks,
Hussein

Is Oracle database Compatible with Times Ten database?
Hello All,
I need to use a temporary database in Oracle for some months.
Later on, I will need to migrate all data to a Times Ten database.
1. My doubt is if Oracle and Times Ten databases are compatible with
each other (specially when having this kind of cases) ?
2. In case the answer is YES to question 1, I would like to know if there are some
restrictions in that compatibility (type of data, any other issue, etc)
Best Regards
RubénRuben,
There are two areas you shoul look into regarding your project: SQL functionality and data types. TimesTen 6.0 supports a subset of the SQL features and data types currently available in the Oracle DB; also, TimesTen supports some native numberic data types that are not available in the Oracle DB.
If your end-game is to use the TimesTen database, then I would start with the TimesTen API and SQL Reference Guide (http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/timesten_doc.html)
Use the SQL functionality documented for TimesTen and pay attention to the common data types. For example, VARCHAR is handled differently from VARCHAR2 (where trailing spaces exist), DATE and Timestamp are handled differently, etc. Additionally, keep in mind most numeric values are declared using NUMBER in the Oracle DB, but not in TimesTen.
If you are an existing TimesTen licensed customer, please let us know your support ID(CSI) and we can contact you with more information on our future release plan to address SQL and data types compatibility.
By the way, what's the timeline for your project?

Oracle 9.2.0.8 compatiblity with Planning 9.3.1.1.5
Is oracle 9.2.0.8 database version compatible with Hyperion products 9.3.1.x
we have essbase 9.3.1.3,shared services 9.3.1,planning 93115 . and right now we use oracle 9.2.0.6 and are going to migrate to 9.2.0.8
Is this new version compatible?
ThanksThis is the gospel as far as compatibility for 9.3.1 goes:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/hsys9_install_start_here.pdf
This being said it doesn't specifically mention 9.2.0.6 or 9.2.0.8 being supported. I'd say your technically on a non-supported platform anyways I doubt it will change how it interacts on a minor "dot" release.
Someone may be on this version although a lot of people will be on 10g and 11g.

John A. Booth

I want to add another management server to our existing SCOM environment. But whenever I run this setup on a new server I get stuck in the window for selecting the OperationsManager database. The database field stays blank and in the OpsMgrSetupWizard log
there are lines that the setup version is not compatible with the database version. But I use the same installer as when I installed the other management servers a year ago.
Maybe there is a newer setup installer? But I can't find it.

TARGET database is not compatible with RMAN version
Hi all,
we have an issue related to RMAN version.
A few weeks ago we update our 10.2.0.1 Oracle Database to 10.2.0.4 using 6810189 pacth set.
Now when we try to execute RMAN this is the output:
Recovery Manager : Release 11.1.0.6.0 - Production on Jue Nov 20 12:20:57 2008
Copyright (c) 1982, 2007, Oracle. All rights reserved.

RMAN-00554: initialization of internal recovery manager package failed
RMAN-06429: TARGET database is not compatible with this version of RMAN
(I translate the spanish message, maybe the words is not exactly the same in the english version)
As is shown in the output the RMAN version installed by the pacthset is higher than database version, is there a way to downgrade RMAN or to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance,
AlexI'm pretty sure patchset 6810189 does not install RMAN executable 11g. I did several patchings to 10.2.0.4 and that never happened. Patching may sometimes leave components at a lower level than the patchset, but never the opposite is true. That would be definitely a bug. So you (or someone else) installed 11g software.

how its happening is there any where i have to change the path.
Regards,
johnJohn, you need to use the RMAN binary which is located in bin folder of Oracle Database (ie /u01/oracle/product/10.2/db1/bin). You shouldn't use "rman which comes with Oracle 11g client".
If you are using windows, run the following commands in command prompt and then copy/paste the output:
echo 5ORACLE_HOME%
echo %PATH%
If you are using unix, run the following commands in terminal and then copy/paste the output:
echo $ORACLE_HOME
echo $PATH

I have been asked to be a statistician bar and athletic team. We are playing Dartball, a game of darts that is based on baseball. The previous status station used Apple works which included a database manager that was compatible with numbers. I have checked with the Apple geniuses online for my MacBook Pro and they did not have an answer to my problem. Is there a program that can be used on my MacBook Pro that will keep up with statistics for eight baseball team?
Im all for the dumb questions, because its probably a dumb mistake I did.
I have checked that both sus ped and exp. ped are fully plugged in.
Neither pedals show up in the Midi meter in the transport.
I dont know how to set a patch for the keyboard, but if both pedals work in other programs (i.e. Reason), wouldn't it not be an issue with a Logic configuration and not in the keyboard's setting? (Unless I have a separate Logic setting that loads automatically when it detects Logic is booted. I dont know how that would work though.)
Thank you for your prompt help, though. Any other ideas? -
Hi,
We have installed FIM MA with an account that have all the sufficient rights. It got created successfully and worked for Full Import and Full Sync. But, due to some version incompatabilities, we have installed a patch.PFB link for the patch.
http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2969673/en-us
Now, we are trying to refresh the schema of FIM MA. While doing that we are facing an error "Failed to connect to database". The user account with which we are connecting has read and write permissions on DB.In the event viewer some errors are
logged like "the current version of database is not compatible with the one expected by Forefront Identity Manager service. The current version of database is : 1116. The expected version is :1122" with event ID 3. PFB images for more detailed
view.
Please advice how to fix the issue.
Thanks
Prasanthi.Hello,
seems to me that you maybe only updated the syncengine but not portal/webservice.
I had that error once after an recovery from scratch and forgot one of the hotfixes to apply to all services.

RMAN-06429: RCVCAT database is not compatible with this version of RMAN
Hi There,
I just want to confirm there is no work around for the issue I am having. Here is my situation:
I have four Oracle 8i databases that can not be removed because of client requirements. These 8i databases have there own RMAN catalog which is 10G (Originally there were Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g databases using it but are now moved to 11g catalog). Databases are backing up fine. However, all the other databases are using the RMAN 11g Catalog. I want to point the Oracle 8i databases to point to the RMAN 11g recovery catalog. I created an 8i schema, however, i'm getting the following error message: RMAN-06429: RCVCAT database is not compatible with this version of RMAN. It's pretty straight forward, however, I wanted to put the question out there to see if there are any work arounds. I would prefer to have only one RMAN recovery catalog.
Thanks in advance.
JHello;
I know of no way around the RMAN Compatibility Matrix. I would keep a second catalog DB for these older databases. Or go NOCATALOG. I checked all my sources and if there's a better option I sure did not find it. What breaks if these go to Oracle 9?
