10.2.1.1925 installed - No picture password

I can't seem to find picture password on the System Settings --> Security and Privacy --> Device Password screen. Am i missing something? I thought this was a new feature. I have rebooted and hard rebooted (volume buttons), but still doesn't show up. I do have blackberry balance activated and my password is complicated. "IT policy requires device password to be set." is displayed. Does that mean I can't use picture password?

Please check if you enable the following policies which still affect local computer:
Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System, and Logon.
Also, if it is possible, try to disconnect this current Microsoft Account and re-associate it.

Windows 8.1: Picture Password and Pin Greyed Out

Recently I accepted the new Exchange ActiveSync Policy in my Windows Mail account which disabled Picture Passwords and Pin Passwords for my Windows 8.1 Machine. I hunted high and low in Local Security Policy, Registry and Local Group Policy settings
to try and resolve this issues with very little luck.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem I completed the following steps:
1. Click on Settings > Control Panel > User Accounts.
2. In the left hand side, there is an option to Reset Security Policies, as seen in the image below.
3. Reboot your computer.
After the machine has rebooting you should see your Sign-in Option button and the ability to choose the Picture Password or Pin Password again.
NOTE
As you have just changed the security policies which Exchange Active Sync had enforced, you may not be able to access the email which you had setup and applied the settings for.

Along with the guidance already provided, you may also want to look at your policy settings.
Since the machines having this problem are members of a domain, it’s entirely possible that there is a setting being applied to the machines that is blocking access.
There are a few different policy settings that could be the issue.
A good resource to take a look at is the WSUS Deployment Guide found under the
Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) page.

How to install OS/reset password without optical drive?

I was given a white G3 recently, 900 MHz 1 GB of RAM, pretty decent for as old as it is, only problem is that it doesn't have an optical drive. All of the user accounts have passwords and I can't use a disc to do a clean install or reset passwords. Any clue on how to do do anything without a disc? The closest thing I have to an external optical drive is an IDE drive with an IDE to USB adapter, but it doesn't recognize that on boot. I have an external hard drive if I can somehow mount an image on that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Basically, you hold down the command-s key then powering on your machine. The command key has a little apple symbol on the lower left. It is between the alt/option key and the space bar. On a PC keyboard, it will be the windows key, I think.
1) You can change the password on an account. ( Do you know Unix. You are in a Unix single user console. ) The setup commands you need should be listed on the screen. For Mac OS 10.4.11, the commands are:
# Type the follow two instructions to access the startup disk in read/write:
/sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /
# Start up some utility processes that are needed.
sh /etc/rc
# You will probably need to press the return key once the system stops typing.
# To find out the users on the system type, use the list command. The l is a lower case L:
ls /Users
# One of these accounts will be the administrator.
# Pick one of the users which I'll call a-user-name and type it in this command:
passwd a-user-name
# and enter the new user password. You need six characters.
# You will need to enter your password twice. Your typing will not show up on the screen just
# press enter when you complete the typing.
# For cryptic information on these commands try:
man ls
man passwd
The root account isn't enabled by default. I am not sure if changing the password on root will enable it.
2) Get the Mac to set up an additional administrative account. You can then change the password on your old account.
Start with your computer power off. Hold down command-s. Power on your computer.
Type in the following:
The first two commands will depend on your release of Mac OS X. Look at what is typed out in the console to determine the exact format.

Once you've done that the computer reboots and it's like the first time you used the machine. Your old accounts are all safe. From there you just change all other account passwords in the account preferences!!

How secure is the Picture Password option?

Can any of the developers associated with the Picture Password provide some math?
A simple four digit numeric pin for example provides 10,000 combinations.
From simple playing around, it looks like the Picture Password requries a number alignment in a 25x25 grid or thereabouts which is about 525 positions, times 10 digits or about 5250 combinations, except that the ordering of the digits seems to change with each attempt.
Then there is also the maximum number of attempts (10) but it requires manual typing after 5. It would be good to have an understanding of the probabilities involved. I guess ultimately, does the picture password provide an equivalent of a 3-1/2 digit numeric pin or does it actually provide much better protection than that?

BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 - Picture Password / Contraseña con imagen

I updated to BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 a day or two ago and I have my system language set to Spanish. Upon activating the picture password feature, I noticed that the instructional text extends past the limits of the screen. I hope that this is fixed in an upcoming update.

Interesting. It works fine on the Z10 but gets cut off on the Q10. no idea when that might be fixed.

If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select

from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.

Picture Password not working

The picture password does not work following the software update (10.2.1.2102). The option often disappears but if you go out of the Device Password menua and back in, it the re-appears.
Following the instructions to the end confirms it has been setup but once you lock the phone and try to unlock it asks for the numeric device password.
I have tried restarting also disabling all the passwords restarting and enabling picture password but once again it does not work.
I see that the Z10 has the same issue. Can someone assist with this?
My phone is not connected to any corporate BES.

I have the same problem, exchange server work account means I can't use Picture Password. I hope they fix this because there is no way in hell lthe IT folks will change the Exchange server, and I really want to use the Picture Password feature.

I just tried to log in with the correct picture password but was unable to. I rebooted the pc and now I am only able to log in with a normal password, which I don't have. I'm unable to open the picture password software. Is there anything I can do?

Windows Picture Password, good idea, but fickle.

I like picture password, a lot--not least because when it doesn't work (and it often doesn't) it openly and obviously invites me to resort to the tried and tested 4-digit password--which does always work. This leaves me wondering why
Picture Password is so fickle.
1. The only thing I can think of is that the chosen spot(s) to be clicked on may be smaller than the user is led to think; and so one or more of the clicks may be off the target.
The targets are small groups of pixels somewhere chosen within the picture. The question is, "how small is small?" When a user clicks on one, a small circle, a about 9mm diameter, appears for a second. But is that an accurate indication
of the target area or is the actual target a smaller group of pixels somewhere within that circle? Is it a question of hitting the bulls eye at the center of the bulls eye?
In short, just how accurate do I have to be with my clicks. If I knew the answer to that I would be a bit more choosey in selecting my targets.
2. Often, Picture Password IS working--when it doesn't appear to be. I have found that sometimes (er... often), when you click on the appropriate spots (and in the correct order) it takes a lot of time to respond. I end up using the "try again"
feature. Sometimes, several times, before I realize that Picture Password is ... what... on a coffee break?

How do I install my cookies, passwords & permissions from my old PC onto my new one running Firefox 4.0.1

I am migrating from my old XP PC to a new Windows 7 PC running Firefox 4.0.1.
I have managed (I think) to copy my cookies, passwords & permissions (i.e. cookies.sqlite, key3.db, etc) via an external HDD to the new PC and copied them into the Firefox profile on the new PC.
However when I launch a cookie dependent site,the cookie data does not appear.
How can I copy the data in successfully?

Easiest I've found and used is MozBackup: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/download.php
Download it, make a backup of your 4.0.1 then email the resulting .pcv file to yourself and save it to an easy to find spot, usually the desktop. Install MozBackup on the new computer, restore using the .pcv file you emailed to yourself.

I need help for install and configure password sync from AD to OID

Hi guys!
I need to sync passwords from AD to OID, first all, ¿What software do I need? I read some docs and don't find the good config.
I'm trying with:
-Database 11g
-Weblogic 11g
-SOA 11g
-IDM 11g
-IAM 11g
First I install the Database and load the schemas with RCU, next install Weblogic without domian, next install SOA, next install IDM (OID and DIP) in a new Weblogic Domain, next install IAM, next configure IAM in the domain created before, next configure SSL, check the config by using ldapbind, next configure DIP.
It's that ok?

If all you need is AD & OID then OIM is not required. DIP alone can handle this
Password sync should work using DIP. if this is not working then check synchronization mapping and verify that password attribute is also part of this AD-OID sync. Enable debug in synchronization profile or raise an Service Request with Oracle support.
