10.2.1.2102 - Issues

The 'contacts' area is a mess and doesn't seem to be recovering as you suggest it will, given a few days - I've never heard of anything like that, ever before.  Is this reality?
I have a few contacts with pictures which should be displayed at the top of the screen when you dial them, but these are now at least double their previous size and look really idiotic.
But the worst thing of all, is that if anybody phones me, the 'answer/reject' buttons which are now huge, simply don't work at all.  I can't find anything in the settings which might have caused this.  This means I have to phone everybody back, very time-consuming and absolutely infuriating.
I once remonstrated with my girl-friend when she threw her (old) dumb-phone against the wall.  Guess what, I really need to do that myself with this expletive smartphone.

  • BLACKBERRY Z10 CHARGING ISSUES AFTER UPGRADE TO 10.2.1.2102

    HELLO ,
I recently upgraded my Z10 to OS 10.2.1.2102 and all was well until I noticed that my battery wasnt charging. The phone recognises the charger and shows the charging sign but doesnt charge. A random Battery app also confirmed that battery wasnt charging
I have tried everything I know.
Yesterday I downgraded to a lower OS and the phone charged with no issues but iI had to upgrade again because my backup was dont with 10.2.1.2102 and Link wouldn't allow me to restore to a lower OS version.
    Please Help.
    Battery on 15% now!
    Thanks

There's something corrupt with the OS (appaprently just yours, not everyone's) so no worries about having to buy a new battery.
Plug your phone in to charge and leave it for an hour. After that time, check to see if it's recharging. If not, remove the battery while the phone is still plugged in to the charger then replace the battery a few seconds later and once again leave the phone for an hour. Sometimes when you load a new OS to your phone, it takes your phone a day or two to calibrate to the new settings. Your battery is fine but your phone won't show it as such for perhaps another day or two.
    Cheers.

  • Battery issue in q10 after the latest software update 10.2.1.2102

Hi after i updated the latest software the first issue i had was this error msg "www.bberror.com/bb10-0015" and obviously couldnt switch on my phone, i immediately ran to the service centre and they got it fixed...
But after a few hours my phone started behaving strange,
1> It heats up like crazy without using it at all and
2> My battery drains out within a few minutes without even using it and then again i get to see the same error message "www.bberror.com/bb10-0015"
But when i put my phone on charge after a few seconds it gets switched on, and the battery level shows 0%... Have tried charging it to full 100% and then removing it from the charger but again same result... Have to keep it connected to the charger whole time now, but still my phone gets switched off on its own again and again... Helppppppppppppp

It is possible... and the easiest way to determine if it is, is to get a new battery and find out.
if it the error continues, then we will move to the next troubleshooting step.

  • 10.2.1.2102 lockup issue

Loaded the OS update on my Z10.
Battery life is back to what I call normal.
    Problem however:
HUB has now locked up for the 2nd time.
    Access HUB
Messages are displayed, but tapping on a message does not open it. Not text, not BBM, not email.
I can scroll up and down, just can't open anything.
    Access BBM directly
Contacts are shown, but again, I can't open any of them to get to a conversation
    Access text messages directly.
conversations are shown, but I cannot open anything.
    Restart the device:
    All working again.
Also, a bunch of emails and texts came in just after the restart, so I suspect the device was actually not receiving anything while it was in the above state.

I've had this issue in other OS updates but not in the one you're currently running. I would click an item to open it then the screen would dim for about 5-10 seconds before brightening up again but not opening the desired item.
Try resetting your Hub. Go to your Hub then swipe down diagonally from the top right corner of your screen to the middle of your screen four times in a row. This will reset your Hub and will hopefully resolve your issue.
Keep us up to date on your progress.

  • SPA-2102 Setup issues

    Hi all,
I bought the above linksys device and have been trying to set it up with Voipbuster. My current setup is
Thomson 585 (locked by ISP O2) -> Lan port 3 on Thomson has the SPA-2102 connected to it.
I get no dial tone at all, but when going on the setup page on the 2102 it says registered against Line 1 for Voipbuster.
I have forwarded port 5060 from the router for the 2102.
Any ideas what to check? I'm completely lost with the amount of config options presented to me by the 2102
    Many thanks

    Hi,
the phone I'm currently using is a DECT phone cordless. Cable used has all 4 cables in the plug. I tried with a cable that only has the 2 middle ones and there was nothing, not even noise.
I'm surprised you say that the 2102 only uses the 2 wires in the plug as I can see that it has 4 "pins" in the plug on the device.
Also I do get a response from the IVR with the current cable, just no dial tone and only noise/echoing

  • Restoring pre-migration DPM Database - Reporting Tab issue

Before migration, upgraded DPM 2010 to 2012 thru to 2012 R2. Took backup of database.
Built new Windows 2012 R2, SQL 2012 SP1 & DPM 2012 R2. While database is blank, DPM seems to work fine.
Restored pre-migration backup of DPM database over this new blank database. Most of DPM seems fine so far. Tape autoloader and attached disks are recognised and previous backups are all available. Protection Groups seem fine.
Accessing the reporting tab causes MMC to quit with error.

Accessing reporting using Internet Explorer and the URL for Reporting in SQL seems Okay.
Seeing as the database restore is the single factor that causes functionality to break I have been trying to ascertain what I might correct incside the pre-migration database.
While the new machine has the same computer name, the accounts for services and SQL were changed in line with what was suggested/recommended by the setup comments I came across (domain accounts instead of local etc.) So there would be a discrepancy between
the pre-migration security accounts and the new servers security accounts.
Should I try and correct this specific issue and can anyone help with that (seeing as rest seems to be working okay)?
    OR
Can you point me to the recommended steps that I should follow (post-restore) to get this setup working for reporting?

You're not alone. I have the exact same issue (report tab results in MMC crash) after upgrading from DPM 2012sp1 to DPM 2012R2.
I installed fresh windows 2012r2, then installed DPM 2012sp1, restored database, then upgraded to DPM 2012r2. Now I can't access the report TAB even though
http://dpmserver/reports works just fine for viewing DPM reports.
My error codes are identical to what you posted.

  • Need advice replacing HP Mini 2102 Screen

    Hey all,
I am fixing an HP Mini 2102 netbook that was dropped on the ground. The netbook works fine, except now the screen is somewhat hazy and washed out on the right side. Usually, when a laptop screen acts up, I try to replace the display inverter board, as was the case with an HP Pavilion dv9000 machine I fixed recently.
However, after dismatling the computer, I found no such inverter on the screen, and after consulting with a very helpful HP support assistant in a live chat session who informed me that there isn't a separate inverter board available for purchase, I've come to believe I must replace the whole screen.
If I am not mistaken, the LCD part number is 589649-001 for this particular model I am repairing. I am creating this post to confirm that the inverter board on this Mini cannot be replaced, and that I must replace the entire LCD screen - minus the camera, bezel, and hinges, which all work fine - in order to fix the display issue.
If there are any other suggestions as to what part I need, or if I need to take a completely different approach to the repair, please let me know before I order the LCD screen part.

  • Exchange 2010 - EventID 2090&2102 on DC

    Hi guys.
Exchange 2010 is installed on a domain controller (DC.domain.com).
Let's skip the part about telling me that Exchange 2010 installed on DC is not a wise idea and please help regarding this Event Viewer Warning:
    EventID 2090
    Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGYSERVICE.EXE (PID=1188).
The configuration domain controller specified in the registry (DC.domain.com) is unreachable.
Exchange Active Directory Provider will select the configuration domain controller from the list of available domain controllers.
    EventID 2102:
Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGYSERVICE.EXE (PID=1188). All Domain Controller Servers in use are not responding: DC.domain.com
dcdiag /s:DC.domain.com saids everything is fine.
Why is event viewer complaining then?
    With best regards,
    bostjanc

    Hi,
    Based on my research,
Event ID 2090 is just a warning message that indicates a particular server was configured, in the registry, to be used as the configuration domain controller and this server was not reachable. Usually, this event can be ignored.
However, if there is an accompanying MSExchangeDSAccess
Event ID 2102, the Exchange Services might not start. It would be a known issue when Exchange server installed in DC:
Service start up issues where Exchange services cannot start since AD is not available as the DC is still starting up.
To resolve it, the following blog mentioned a potential workaround about
    Start up dependencies:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/rmilne/archive/2013/07/03/exchange-on-a-dc.aspx
Additionally, I still want to be verbose that it is not recommended to
install an Exchange server in a domain controller.

  • BGP route-reflector next-hop issue

    Hello,
I have a small GNS3 lab that is working with one exception: I cannot ping loopback0 on RRc2 and RRc3 from RRc1.
RRc1, RRc2 and RRc3 can all ping loopback0 on SmileyISP and RRc2 and RRc3 can ping each others loopback0
    interfaces.
I am broken between the two route-reflectors: RRS1 and RRS2.
    Given these conditions:
    1) Do not configure any IGP.
    2) No static routes
    How do I get connectivity from RRc1's loopback0 interface to RRc2 loopback0 and RRc3 loopback0?
I used a route-map to set the next hop, but I am obviously doing something wrong.
I am providing relevant show command outputs, router configs, and the GNS3 topology.net config.
You will have to change the image and working directories to match your computer.
Not quite sure where I am going wrong.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    BD,
    Ahh...
OK.  In the original article, the author states that the final piece with the route map
NEXTHOP was supposed to fix the reachability issue.  Obviously it doesn't.
After reading your last post, I looked more carefully at the output from 'sh ip bgp'
on each of the client routers and I realized that several of the next hop addresses were
wrong for some of the prefixes.
    1) I completely removed the 'neighbor RouteReflectors route-map NEXTHOP out'
from both RR's.  Then I ran 'sh ip bgp' on the clients and noted a change in the next hop addresses.  Still wrong, but it changed.
    2) I then tried next-hop-self from the RR's to the clients, but it did not change from where
it was after I completed step 1.  I am not sure why there was no change. (actually, see the very end of this post)
    3) I then applied my version of the route map:  route-map NEXTHOP permit 10
                                                                                 set ip next-hop peer-address
to the RR's with this: neighbor RRClients route-map NEXTHOP out
That fixed it.  All three clients have as their next hop for all prefixes their respective
RR's (which is what they should have for this topology).
I have full connectivity everywhere, even loopback to loopback between all clients.
    1) THANK YOU for pointing me in the right direction.
    2) If I may ask, why did next hop self fail?  More specifically, I saw no change at all
in the next hop for the advertised prefixes.  Is it because next-hop-self should be used
for eBGP peers and all of the RR's and clients are all within the same AS?

  • Connection Issues in the Connection Manager

    Good Morning Friends,
I hope i will get some answer or some directions here . I have been trying to find a solution for months. I have two servers TESTSQL(2008R2) PRODSQL(2008R2) . On these twos servers i have a package that loads data from source databases into the staging tables
in the data warehouse. The source servers were 2005. The packages were running great with no problem. They have upgraded the source servers to 2008r2 and now the package on the PRODSQL(2008R2) is not working. I'm getting the connection manager connection error.
we have checked all the possible places (like nameof the instance, firewall -- all the servers are internal servers). The package on TESTSQL is able to connect to the source servers and this is how we have been running the package for the time being. Please
see the below error. Any documentatiuon or link will be of great help.
    TITLE: Connection Manager
Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Login timeout expired
A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. For more information

    Hi thinkingeye,
Based on my research, this 503 error usually means that the SQL Server computer can't be found or that the TCP port number is either not known, or is not the correct port number, or is blocked by a firewall.
According to your description, it seems that the issue is caused by you cannot ping the IP Address of the source server in the command prompt window of PRODSQL server or the source SQL Server is blocked by the firewall in the PRODSQL server.
For more details about how to fix this issue, please refer to the following blog:

  • Problem with SPA 2102 (no tone/phone1 led not on)

Dear All, We are using spa 2102 adapters, two of them are working fine, one has some problem. The phone1 led is not working i.e, the phone has no tone. if we connect the adapter to PC through Ethernet its working fine and the DHCP is assigning the IP to adapter. Kindly resolve the issue. Thanks.

    The problem is resolved!
I called the service provider and they told me to put the IP in the DMZ or outside friewall. But i just reserved an IP in DHCP server for this device and then put that IP in the Linksys seetings page as static IP rather DHCP.
It starts working and i was able to call and recieve calls.
    Thanks.

  • Update from 7.1.0 Bundle 722 to 2102

My wife's phone shows that she needs to update to 7.1.0 Bundle 2102 but when she tries on her device it says she has to do it via the desktop.... and when she does it there it says she is alrady update with 7.1.0 Bundle 2102... Thank you for any advice.
On a side note.... I have Googlr Maps Ver 4.5.3 but she cannot use it, it says her Enterprise server does not allow this... we do not have enterprise server and I my Google Maps works fine... please advise

    Hello,
Let us first start here, as curing this will be a prerequisite to the update process you wish to conduct...

It would appear, from what you say, that your wife's BB was once associated with a BES environment, and was not properly cleansed of that when it was removed from that BES. How, why, or when that may have been the case I cannot know...only that it appears, from what you report, to be the case. To cure it, you must do some very careful steps, starting with ensuring you have a full and complete backup of the entire device, for it will be totally wiped clean in order to cure this issue. You can find full instructions for backup via the link in my auto-sig on this post.
Once you have a good backup, you can proceed with the cleansing process:

When you restore, be sure to NOT do a full restore...rather, only a selective restore of only those critical databases (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.), specifically avoiding any databases that have to do with IT Policy or Enterprise. If you restore those databases, you will wind up right back where you are now.

I recommend you override the automatic methods of updating and instead take full control over the process. Please refer to this official download portal as you proceed. It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. After installing the OS package to your PC, please remeber to delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
Good luck and let us know!
