10.2.1.537 Bugs

Hi,
new firmware 10.2.1.537, has two bugs:
1. Locking screen always stops music, from any application: Music, Podcasts, FM Radio etc.
2. Customize notifications for a contact does not function: for example, if sound is turned on for phone notifications for a contact but the sound is turned off for the phone, the phone not rings when the contact calls you.
Do you have any solution?

Most of these types of bugs are caused by data contained in the old OS being moved to the new...basically your restored data. I recommend the doing a Security Wipe:
To perform a Security Wipe please follow the instructions below. Be sure and use BB Link to make a full backup before proceeding with the wipe:

Once the wipe is complete you can restore your backup. Keep in mind that data in the backup may be the source of the original problem and restoring it may restore the problem, as well. To alleviate this I recommend not restoring the Settings portion of the backup.

Q5 10.2.1.537 update bug. Help!

Hello, I'm currently having problems with my bb Q5. The problem occurious when I attempt to connect my bb via Bluetooth to my work vehicle. The problem begins with that before the update of 10.2.1.537, the Bluetooth problem didn't occur. The Bluetooth would connect no problem and then I would be able to go onto my day no problem.
However, when connecting my device to the vehicle it connects perfectly, I can ring people with the in vehicle computer and via myu phone. But when I turn the engine off and restart the vehicle, the phone does not reconnect like it did before. I have looked at all the settings within the vehicle, as well as the device. I set the device to auto connect to the last connected device to allow me to constantly not have to reconnect the device every time I turn the engine on and off.
So even though I have set this to reconnect like it should, it will not. Looking at the connection between the vehicle and the device, I tried to reconnect them manually, but nothing would happen. It said on both the device and the vehicle computer, that the connection was unsuccessful! So what I have to do to actually get them to connect is s big deal of deleting each of the devices from each device, and to change the name of the phone device each time, as if I do not the vehicle will recognise the device as something that is already connected. Changing the name allows me to connect, however once this is achieved, turning thee engine off and on again, brings me back to the same problem.
Please help. This is really bothing me, as now I wish I hadn't updated my device, and that I do really need this to be fixed as I use Bluetooth every day.

Unrar bug on 10.2.1.537 with third party apps

Hello,
Since I upgraded my z10 to 10.2.1.537 (carrier release) I can't unrar a file located on my sd card directly on the sdcard.
I tried with two apps :
•uncompressor (app bought on bbworld)
•es file explorer (app side loaded)
Also:
•Un compressing from the sd card to the phone memory works
•This worked before on 10.1, 10.1MR, 10.2.0.424 and 10.2.0.429 (all of them carrier release)

I am having similar problems as are several other users in my organization who have all recently upgraded to 10.2.1.537. (bell) - both Z10 andQ10 devices. Every time my device reboots the policies from active sync (MS exchange 2010) appear to get reapplied. The device and SD card get re encrypted and some settings get reset ( Eg the auto signature gets turned back on with the default text even if it had been turned off previously.) Other problems have also shown up since the 10.2.1,537 upgrade and they only affect the active sync accounts. Other accounts still appear to work fine.. In particular, the Hub conversation display style no longer works. Messages in a conversation don't show and there appears to be no way to see the missing messages without turning the conversation style off. I have not contacted my provider yet to see if I can roll back to v10.2.0, since I have had no problems with that release and have had daily problems with my device Turing off, calendar items not syncing, reports that my email domain is not trusted, and on and on..... Since upgrading.

Problem with Agenda after upgrading to 10.2.1.537

Hi!
i have just updated the software on my Z10 to th enew 10.2.1.537 and, after restarting the device, my Agenda is not correctly identifying the numbers in my agenda.
For example, I search for "James" and my BB gives me the contact of "Heather", however the actual info in the contact is James', although identified with the wrong name.
I am desperate, as this is my work phone and unless this is corrected, i will need to stop using blackberry and i love this phone...
HELP!!!

What the hell, there is no resolution time for this issue? Then what is the use of blackberry with bugs in emailing service?

we've isolated if not solved the problem. elsewhere in the app, COMPLETELY unconnected to the SharedCursorPane, we've got a mx:ToggleButtonBar to which we, just prior to the point the app crashes, do this;
topBar.toggleButtonBar.selectedIndex = -1;
we tried killing some event bubbling thus:
topBar.toggleButtonBar.addEventListener(FlexEvent.VALUE_COMMIT, _onToggleBarChange);
private function _onToggleBarChange(event:FlexEvent):void
    event.stopImmediatePropagation();
which fixed the problem ONCE but then it came back again. basically the line:
topBar.toggleButtonBar.selectedIndex = -1;
if commented out means the SharedCursorPane bug wont appear. but i need to change this toggleButtonBar's selectedIndex to -1, so that won't do.
im going to try to catch and stopImmediatePropagation on some of the toggleButtonBar's other events. dont know if itll make a difference but we'll see............
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
um. im just looking through the FP9 version of SharedCursorPane.as and can't help noticing it's littered with references to "stage". they're everywhere. it looks like that might be the 'null' prop in question thats causing the error. is it not a little presumptuous to think that every SharedWhiteBoard will always have a 'stage' property? my client want a whiteBoard that they can hide from time to time to go nav round the rest of the site, do some stuff but keep the meeting seesion & whiteBoard running, then come back to meeting later on. When this happens i'm far more inclined to do:
removeChild(meetingRoomCanvas);
than
meetingRoomCanvas.visible = false;
cos i know the FP will attempt to draw invisible onstage movieclips, thus being an unacceptable CPU drain. removeChild'ing it should be an option. i gave up using visible = false years ago and don't intend to go back.

[bug] "failed to bind columns" in cr4e

(sorry, i don't know where to report this kind of bug/problem)
i am using cr4e 2.0.2. i added a table into the report. i always got "failed to bind columns" error yesterday when i tried to browsing the data in the generated report (report is generated by java code, datasource is xml).
with the same piece of code, i can successfully generate the report, browse the data with another different structure.
i ran the same piece of code this morning (computer is restarted), the error "failed to bind columns" is gone!
but:
- the table is empty when i tried to browse the data by table;
- the data is there when i tried to browse the data by column;
- the data is there when i dragged the column into the report and preview it.
what will cause this kind of weird problem? the data structure? or special character? or the cr4e is not stable? or a bug of cr4e?

I have a report that contains multiple regular subreports including two cross-tab subreports that get data from SQL Server stored procedures. It runs perfectly in a PowerBuilder app using RDC. I am trying to migrate it to Java using JRC (CR for Eclipse 2.0). When I run this report using JRC (CR for Eclipse 2.0), it fails with the following errors. If I delete the two cross-tab subreports, the report runs fine. Can someone decifer the error message and tell me what should be done to make the report run?

1.) Does this happen when you choose to "Build" as well?
2.) Does this happen only with the FlagWithCallback example or with all examples?

OS 10.2.1.537

I upgraded my Q10 to the 10.2.1.537 update last night.
Touchwood, I haven't experienced any major problem as yet; though there is a minor bug in the CONTACTS' folder.
I have set the font size to 11 to suit my reading comfort, prior to the upgrade and after the upgrade. Before the upgrade, my contact's name and their company's name would perfectly fit in the permitted space. Now after the upgrade, the company name gets cut off by almost 50% from the base.
Even after trying out font size 9, a bit of the company name gets cut off from the base.
I hope BlackBerry resolves this ASAP!!!

Unfortunately, that appears to be an Ant bug. I would exclude your
non-jar/zip files from the classpath since they really shouldn't be
there. If you want to be able to access resources like kodo.properties,
you should be including the folder which contains them and not the file.

New OS 10.2.1.537 Problem

I have downloaded last software released 10.2.1.537 and the last update for BBM I had a problem and I wiped my device but it was fix for a day then return back the same.The problem that when I lunch BBM then i try to enter any chat bbm freeze and i can't click any thing I only can use bbm from the Hub!. Please help me to solve this problem.

OS 10.2.1.537 Exchange Issue

Ever since i installed 10.2.1.537 OS I have encountered issues with my Exchange ActiveSync account. I have a Exchange 2010 account. After every reboot the account gives a subset error and I have to go into the account and save settings again. After saving settings it makes me reenter device pass code. The Exchange server requires a pass code for all connected mobile devices. After doing this it downloads all email, contacts, calendar etc. This becomes a huge data and battery hog after every reboot.

This is _most definitely_ a bug. I reported the same in these forums with 10.2.1.1055, and when 537 was RC.
Yesterday I turned off password requirements on my 2010 Exchange server, and the problem does not recur. Not a solution for any of my clients. I'd love to tell them all to update to 10.2.1 right now, but I won't because of this issue.
THIS IS a major problem.
As mentioned in this thread, the ONLY way to work around it is to watch your phone, and enter your password in as soon as it reboots, then when Exchange tries to sync it will reprompt for your device password.
OTHERWISE, it wipes the account, and you have to go to the Exchange account and reenter your password and resync everything.
If you change your battery, or it dies in your holster, or you reboot, and forget to do the workaround, your screwed. And heaven forbid you have a lot of email and you're set to sync more than 7 days (this is what I set my account to after first experiencing this with 1055).
I called Telus 2 days ago (the day I got the auto-update notice for the 'official' 537), and spoke to their support who essentially shrugged, and said they would 'tell their team' about it.
In-fricken-credible that Blackberry would let this one slide through to release. 10.2.1.x is awesome, but when you screw up someone's corporate email, calendar and contacts, it really doesn't matter how awesome it is.
I know this is a 'user' forum, but if someone from Blackberry isn't actually monitoring these forums then they deserve whatever they get.

Index with "or" clause (BUG still exists?)

The change log for 2.3.10 mentions "Fixed a bug that caused incorrect query plans to be generated for predicates that used the "or" operator in conjunction with indexes [#15328]."
But looks like the Bug still exists.

Solaris8 and 9 (possibly 7) /dev/poll driver bug report.

I'd like to report a bug in the solaris 8 and 9 /dev/poll driver (poll(7d)).
As i do not have a support account with sun or anything like that, there
seems to be no other way to do that here (which is of course a very sad
thing).
Bug details:
The /dev/poll device provides an ioctl-request (DP_ISPOLLED) for checking
if a particular filedescriptor is currently in the set of monitored
filedescriptors for that particular /dev/poll fd set (open /dev/poll fd).
A quote from the documentation of the poll(7d) manual page taken from
Solaris9:
"DP_ISPOLLED ioctl allows you to query if a file descriptor is already in
the monitored set represented by fd. The fd field of the pollfd structure
indicates the file descriptor of interest. The DP_ISPOLLED ioctl returns 1
if the file descriptor is in the set. The events field contains the
currently polled events. The revents field contains 0. The ioctl returns 0
if the file descriptor is not in the set. The pollfd structure pointed by
pfd is not modified. The ioctl returns a -1 if the call fails."
It says that when you query for an filedescriptor which is currently being
monitored in the set, that it would return 1, and change the events field of
the pollfd structure to the events it's currently monitoring that fd for.
The revents field would be set to zero.
However the only thing which actually happens here, is that FD_ISPOLLED
returns 1 when the fd is in the set and 0 if not. When the fd is in the
set, when FD_ISPOLLED returns 1, the events field remains unmodified, but
the revents field gets changed.

However it prints the following:

You can take any number instead of '34' and it will simply remain untouched
after the DP_ISPOLLED ioctl-request.
I hope it's clear now that the solaris8 and solaris9 (and probably solaris7
with /dev/poll patch too) DP_ISPOLLED implementation is broken.
This bug is also easily illustrated by looking at the solaris8 kernel sourcecode:

its' clearly visible that the code writes the current monitored events to
the revents field:
'pollfd.revents = pdp->pd_events;'
and that it doesnt set revents to zero.
It's funny to see that this has been like this since Solaris8 (possibly 7). That means nobody ever used DP_ISPOLLED that way or people were simply to lazy to file a bug report.
Another funny thing related to this. is that Hewlett-Packard did seem to know about this. Since HP-UX11i version 1.6 they also support /dev/poll. From their manual page i ll quote some sentences from their WARNING session:
"The ioctl(DP_ISPOLLED) system call also returns its result in the revents member of the pollfd structure, in order to be compatible with the implementation of the /dev/poll driver by some other vendors."
Hopefully this will get fixed.
I also like to reexpress my very negative feelings towards the fact that you're not able to file bug reports when you do not have a support contract. Ridiculous.
