10.2.8, USB 1 & seperate computers.

Hi there all.
I just received an iPod Nano for christmas. A very exciting gift. Here's my problem. I currently have an older model G4 that i can only run 10.2.8 on. I don't have a DVD drive, so i can't install any newer OS.
So i've read the discussions as much as i can, but information seems kinda spotty. I just want to confirm that though the specs say 10.3 is required, it seems that many people have had success with 10.2.8. Also, i'm assuming i only have usb1 ... but it also seems that that works ok, it's just slow. Will i still be able to charge my nano with usb1? or will i need to purchase something else to get it to charge?
I plan on purchasing a new power book soon, but i need to wait a little while, so i could just wait to use my new iPod, but i'd rather use it now.
Also, if i load music onto it from say, my sister's computer, will that create complications if i try to use mine later, as long as they are both macs?
Sorry if i'm flogging a dead horse here, just trying to get the info. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

You should be able to load the latest itunes required.
USB 1 works, just slower. Should still charge.
To use 2 different computers you have to switch to manual (not sync) in the itunes -> ipod prefs. Otherwise one will overwrite the other.

i tried loging into itunes on my seperate pc. and it logs me in just fine it just wont give me my music in my library. this is really irritating me and my computer know it all isnt familiar with apple - HELP

why does plugging in iphone 4 to PC it is authorized on cause the computers wireless adapter to shutdown? Don't recall changing anything on either one, but did do some updates on windows update.

You probably would get better answers to this on a Microsoft Windows forum...the iPhone should notbe doing anything to affect the operation of Windows as it does not communicate with the operating system.
Have you checked the Network Control Panel to see if anything has been changed due to the Windows updates you installed? Something in the updates must have changed the network settings or network card settings.

Does the serial number stay the same for CS6 downloads on seperate computers?

I am going to download my CS6 onto a second computer (redeem by second download) and I was just curious if my serial number will be the same since its the same product or if I need to redeem another one. How do I go about doing that?

You can only redeem once to get your serial number.
That same serial number is good to license and activate the software for use on a maximum of two computers at the same time.

After retrying the home share with the SAME ITUNES ACCOUNT ON HOME SHARING I finally got it to work.

I can't sign in from two seperate computers, despite same account info and same isp. Second computer keeps geeting "not exist" mess for account with same info

Have two computers. One has Thunderbird working fine. Other won't let me sign on to Thunderbird, despite ALL info being exactly the same (incoming server, outgoing server, ports, password, etc) Very frustrating. Any suggestions?

Check All of the boxes and Uncheck the very top box,
Click on Delete.
Close ie,
Reset ie9 or ie10 manually,

Click on Internet options,
Go to the Advanced section,
Click on Reset button on the bottom,
Check the box to Delete personal settings,

Video, applications, music on 3 seperate computers, how do i sync them?

I am new to this so i appologize in advance for my naive nature. I got my iphone a few weeks ago and have downloaded some apps, music and videos from three different computers. Now when i sync on any one computer it seems to delete the items i had in a library on the other computers. Is there a way to put identical librarys on all three computers? Or do i have to sync from only one computer it keep it as the only back up computer? I know my terminology is not correct but what im looking to do is eliminate the constant deleting that goes on when i use the three computers. Thank you in advance for your help.

Authorize all three computers with the same iTunes account in iTunes > Store menu. Then copy the iTunes the relevant parts of the iTunes libraries to all computers (using a flash drive, external hard drive, DVDs, etc.).
However, that won't prevent content from being deleted. The iPhone is designed to sync iTunes media (music/videos/apps) with one computer. So, if you have the same content on all three, each time you sync to another computer the iPhone's content will be deleted, then replaced with the same content (taking a significant amount of time, probably!).
So, your best bet is to merge your three iTunes libraries onto one computer, and only sync with that computer. You can sync other info (contacts, calendars, bookmarks) with multiple computers, but only one for the iTunes media.

Creative Cloud on two seperate computers?

I downloaded the CC on one computer at work and when I want to activate a second version on my computer at home, it says it is a test version.
I read in the FAQ that it should be possible to have the CC on two devices.
I want to activate the CC at home as a normal purchase and not as a test version that runs out in 30 days.

About a month ago I downloaded a movie from itunes on to my laptop. Well, my laptop crashed, so of course my entire library was lost. Is there any way for me to re-download that movie on to a different computer without having to repurchase it?

Restore it from a backup, transfer it from an iPod or iPhone if applicable, use file recovery software, fill out and submit this form to request a free redownload, or purchase it again. There are no other ways.

Wired computers unable to see printer on Airport Express...help?

Hi all,
I recently set up an Airport Extreme on our office network to offer wireless network access piggybacked on our wired router. I then purchased an Airport Express which I was planning on using as a wireless print server for our Canon i9900 for all office computers connecting wired or wirelessly, which would interface with the network via the Airport Extreme Base Station.
I have configured the Express as an extension of the existing Airport network, and attached the printer to it via USB. All the computers in the office which have airport cards onboard can see and print from the printer, which is great. The problem is that all of the computers connecting to the network via wires are unable to see the printer (this is under both 10.3.x and 10.4.x, all airport software completely updated.) The Extreme base station shows up for all office computers in their Airport Admin Utility, AND if the printer is connected directly to the Extreme Base Station via USB, all computers can see the printer over Bonjour/Rendevous.
Anybody have ideas as to how I can get my wired machines to see the printer on the Airport Express?

Can you sync 2 i phones to one itunes using seperate Apple IDs

My problem is : i have an iphone 4 and my boyfriend a 3gs, until recently we used seperate computers for sync but one broke so we have only 1 between us. We have sepeate Apple IDs and log in to our own each time we want to sync our phones, but we seem to end up with all the same content, ie apps music ect. We have to tick and untick stuff we want and dont. Also we purchase/download our own content from app store using our own ID's yet they too apper to sync to both devices.... What am i doing wrong?? HELP!

How do I merge two seperate HD's into one. I upgraded my MBP to an SSD and installed a hybrid in the optical bay.

I intially planned to use my cloned system on the SSD and the Hybrid to be used as backup, media, whatever else. But I only had access to certain program on another MBP and so I cloned it to a partition on the Hybrid. So basically I have two seperate computers each isolated from one another. I have two startup disks, 2 seperate everything. And I have to be careful when syncing my dropbox and a myriad of issues when swithing from one to the other. So does anyone have any questions about this or any suggestions as to how I can merge the 2 so that I can run the initial configuration I desired. Oh and the performance between the Momentus XT hybrid and the Intel-520 ssd are getting closer and closer as time goes by that I almost don't notice a difference, grnted my MBP is only backward compatible to 3gbs so I don't get the performance of the 6gbps capabilities of the intel. But GD its awesome.
I really would appreciate any suggestions. the machine is 15" MBP mid 2010 with 10.8.2.

I don't know that copying them from an external would be any different than doing it internally because they are physically seperated. I have tried many different configurations. It won't let me erase or format the SSD so that I can clone the Hybrid to it. Which is what I prefer to do but I haven't boot from the recovery or an external and tried doing it that way. But even then I have to boot from each seperately, what is holding me up is I've lost both product keys to office and adobe ms 6 due to the fact of not only having them so long and always upgrade using dmg's as well as upgrading os's so often. So those programs are only available on one computer. Which happens to be on a seperate internal disk. A slick unix script would be nice. I am just really tired of trial and error and would like to get back to using my stuff.

I have a sole i-pod and two pc's, used the instructions for "iTunes for Windows: Moving your iTunes Media folder" in the hope that I could synch my one i-pod between two different computers that are sharing the same library. Is it possible to have two seperate computers that only share an external hard drive (one wireless, one not) ? When I am looking at a shared library should it appear the same on both machines (ie: playlists/ purchased list etc)?

If it is moved correctly, playlists will display on both computers and it should be possible.
Close iTunes.
Hold <SHIFT> and launch iTunes.
When prompted to create a new or open an existing iTunes library point iTunes to the iTunesLibrary.itl file on the external drive.
The entire library should now show up with all playlists and playcounts.
Do this on both computers.
Keep in mind that only one computer can access iTunes at a time, otherwise errors will occur when each computer attempts to write to or update the iTunesLibrary.itl file.
Syncing may work seemlessly with both computers, but honestly syncing is designed to work with one and only one computer.

Same iTunes account but on different computers?

My husband and I have both got iphone 4s that are on seperate computers but the same itunes account. We have enabled the cloud so obviously have merged contacts and calendars which is what we want but his calendar is from his PC and we want it from my mac only (thats the first question - can we do this?) Does he have to back up via icloud and not computer.I would like to keep mine to the computer if possible.
I also don't want all of his apps?
I am also haing trouble getting anything on to my phone! It only has my purchased off itunes on there - am i not allowed to put on the legally bought CDS on there without match?
We want the photos that we both take to just go to my computer only. He uses his for work everyday so charges his phone through this. Is the only way if he outs it onto my computer?
Any help appreciated as i seem to understand the concept but can' put it into practice?!
Is it worth taking them all into an apple store and getting set up help?

make sure you have the new itunes go to the store then it will say purchesd and there after you click it, it will show everything you have ever bought on itunes and you can redownload all your music and anything you bought from there hope this helps
